Best place for Chinese food and chippy about I love the egg rice from here very tasty and reasonable prices not like some places that charge a lot more money. You get big portions as well overall a really nice chinese/chippy

very delicious Chinese food, we ordered sweet and sour king prawn hong kong style , beef black bean sauce, salt pepper chicken , beef vermicelli , king prawn chow mein. All are fantastic, must buy again next time

Traditional fish and chips shop that also has a small assortment of Chinese noodle dishes for takeaway. The thing that sets the anchor fish bar apart from the rest is the curry sauce, which is the best I have ever had! As a result, I highly recommend chips with curry sauce and a battered sausage! The staff is friendly and very hard working!

Best Chinese takeaway in Barrow by a country mile. This is my go to for Chinese food everytime.

Went here a couple of times while in the area and food was really good taste and value. I couldn't believe the size of the salt and pepper box. Came in a pizza box and was jam packed with food! Fish and chips were also delicious

I'm always a littl dubious when Chinese takeaways advertise as a normal chippy, but I found myself in Barrow and in need of some fast food and Anchor provided a delicious solution! Fish and chips were fabulous, staff friendly and no wait time. Next time I will try something from the Chinese menu. Very reasonably priced as well.

Best Chippy in Barrow. Chips are crispy and not greasy. The curry sauce from here is amazing! The Chinese is excellent and staff are polite and friendly.

Best chinese in barrow by a mile, heard a few people say water lilly but they obviously dont have a clue, cannot beat the chow mein from here. Cash only though so dont think they like to pay tax other than that tho spot on for me.

They do some good takeaway food for a good price, the salt and pepper box is pretty good, but the ribs have tasted like they have had to much butter on the last couple of times.

It's ok not the best but not the worst

The chips here are really good. I especially like their curry sauce as it's a little bit spicy and Chinese style.

Advertised closing time is 11pm. Actual closing time is 10:30pm. Staff is very indecisive and had no food left @ 10:30pm. Felt like they were being lazy. Will never visit this establishment again.

Fui a la hora del almuerzo, y este lugar es una tienda de pescado y papas fritas y comida china. Pedí comida china y recibí una respuesta bastante negativa, casi disuadiéndome de ordenar, ya que decían que la cocción llevaría mucho tiempo. De todos modos, me atuve a mi pedido y realmente me llevó mucho tiempo. . . Obtuve toneladas crujientes que eran realmente masticables, mezcla especial de sal y pimienta que estaba demasiado cocida, así que estaba extremadamente seca, carne de res en salsa cantonesa que era básicamente carne de chile crujiente (que no es lo que quería y no era bueno, independientemente de lo que estaba destinado a ser) y arroz con huevo frito que estaba bien. Como tuve una larga espera, pude observar los pedidos de pescado y papas fritas que salían y para ser justos, el pescado, las papas fritas, las salchichas rebozadas, las papas gratinadas, etc. en realidad parecían comida decente y había un flujo constante de clientes . Puedo volver a probar ese lado del menú, pero es muy poco probable que vuelva a comprar chino desde allí.

Siempre estoy impresionado por el nivel de servicio recibido aquí, el personal siempre es amable y los pedidos siempre se procesan de manera rápida y eficiente. La comida siempre es muy buena, normalmente vamos por las bolas de pollo con salsa agridulce, arroz frito y carne de res con champiñones, que es realmente delicioso.

El personal es amable, la comida es increíble, no como la mayoría de los chippy y chinos donde la comida es grasosa. La comida de ancla es tan sabrosa y fresca. Viajo desde askam para conseguir una comida para llevar desde allí.

disgusting,I ordered some food n it didn't turn up after an HR so I phoned n the idiot girl thought I said I would pick it up even though I live on walney n I gave her my address.the worst bit though was when I opened it and all the chicken was burnt.obviously it was my earlier order,they just earned it back up.i should of known coz it was delivered within 10 mins,tossers

El menú para llevar es excelente, la comida es buena y variada como China Town en Londres. Todo hecho con los mejores ingredientes, y sin MSG. En una galaxia diferente a las otras tres comidas para llevar chinas en Barrow. Solo los probé ya que el Anchor está cerrado los lunes por la noche. El último fue terrible y apenas comestible, por lo que me tomé el tiempo para alabar al Ancla y ¡desearía que estuviera abierto los lunes! !

Buena selección de pescado y patatas fritas y menú chino. Se ordenó a las 5 p. M. Y llegó muy caliente antes de las seis y media. Buen nivel de especias para el curry y algo para todos los gustos ya precios más bajos que la mayoría en el área.

One of the nicest fish and chip shop stroke Chinese in Barrow, the staff are always pleasant. I can't remember having a bad meal although be warned the salt and pepper chips have a lot of salt and pepper on them. They're open for lunch and the chips cheese and curry sauce is one of the best in Barrow, highly recommend it to anyone who fancies trying something different. The menu is inexpensive and as it is a fish and chip shop and a Chinese rolled into one allows you to get anything from either menu if required.

Bit of a wait because a couple of guys were ordering what looked like the entire menu but fish and chips were amazing.

Great food, both Chinese and traditional.

Absolutely excellent meals full of flavour and not stingy in any way. Salt and pepper chips use fresh chillis and peppers rather than ground pepper and table salt. Staff are always friendly and wait times are good. Definatley recommend to anyone.

I'm always wary when takeaways are chinese/chipshops ... but this is a really good chip shop and a really good Chinese!! 5/5

I ordered chips and sausage for my son for the driver to lie about coming to my door and then when I ring to find out where it issue I get swearing and rudeness from what was said to be the owner and dam right rudeness from the young girl told me I couldn't have the food and it's been thrown in the bin! Never have I been spoken to like that disgusting no wonder no one goes there anymore! Need new owners or someone who has manners!

Try their shredded chilli beef, mixed meat satay, special fried rice and lovely crunchy chips, yummy!

We as a family and with friends have purchased food from this Fish and Chip / Chinese Takeaway dozens and dozens of times. The food is glorious and plentiful, fresh produce, cooked to perfection and as soon as they open there are cars and people awaiting to enter and to place orders, that in itself speaks volumes and speaks for its self. This has to be the best Chinese Take-away in Barrow possibly in Furness. The owners are very friendly and will oblige if possible to do custom dishes. The phones are constantly ringing for orders, I've seen people wait outside in queue on pavement, if a takeaway is quiet then there's something wrong, this is far from quiet. O'h and the Salt n Pepper Chips are divine along with Salt n Pepper Chicken and Chicken balls in batter with Sweet n Sour Sauce. For £3.50 delivered to your door from Barrow to Dalton, when you have friends around and cannot be bothered to collect, its a no brainer. Quite simply .... Fantastic food either Chinese of fish n Chips. Sam B
