Diamond in Barrow-in-Furness

Gorgeous, plentiful food as usual. Great value set meal, but they served the soup in large soup bowls, which didn't look as nice as the lovely little Chinese soup bowls and everyone on our table thought it was too much soup... Stick to the small bowls with tge set meal.

Poor customer service. Staff behavior was as if they were doing us a favor buying from them.chips as soft as cooked potatoes.I will never return as I felt unwelcome in the atmosphere

I found this place by accident as I was not familiar with the area and I was not disappointed. The food was hot and delicious and the staff were very nice. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting somewhere to eat

I am coeliac I had come into Barrow for an appointment and thought I would eat there. Two places were unhelpful then I tried the rainbow. The staff were polite, helpful and knowledgeable I had a lovely meal.

What a wonderful little restaurant. Some of the best Chinese food I've had in long time. Lovely low key service and a chilled little space. Newcastle's Stowell street could learn a lesson.

Absolutely shocking food. Seafood satay like rubber, prawn curry way too hot. Dont go and waste £60 like we did.

The waiters didn't know much about there drinks or the food I ask a couple of things and they didn't know.and also they never even asked if everything was ok so nothing special about this restaurant

Went on new year eve food was great as always asked for a magners it came in a can with no ice totally ruined the meal had a coke instead why have a nice restaurant and have cans joke

Lost its way on quality, food was very underwhelming with little flavour to two dishes we ate, haven't visited since before lockdowns and unfortunately they are not great. I've put some pictures as disappointing. Generally restaurant needs a make over, dirty worn carpets and tired decor . We counted a single prawn in soup and same in the Singapore noodles 😕

Well it's certainly gone down hill! On arrival we were told that it was cash only, they had telephone numbers so could have phoned prior to arriving, so husband had to treck up Dalton Rd in the rain to a working ATM. We were seated in far corner facing the wall, which when asked if we could move to another table, were refused. The starters arrived, which were nice apart from the chicken & mushroom soup, which was very salty and which to my husband's despair made him very ill and had to remove himself from the table to be violently sick! It very much spoilt our evening and appetite was gone. The mains arrived and husband's was wrong order! The prawns that I've had on previous occasions there were not as expected either, tasted bitter. A thoroughly miserable time was had there at a shocking price of nearly £100! Will definitely not be visiting this establishment again. It's a shame as it is usually our place to go for family celebrations and usually recommend this restaurant to people wanting quality, value and a good atmosphere, but on this occasion that was sadly missing. A very disappointing experience, will not be going again and will definitely not be recommending it.

We really enjoyed the evening. I must say the staff was more attentive and friendly this time, which wasn't always a case in the past. The food is always amazing.

Nice, but not as nice as it used to be. Feels a little overpriced compared to many of the other local restaurants, which I didn't mind when it was the best place locally, but that isn't the case anymore.

We were in Barrow-in-Furness for the weekend and decided we would like a Chinese. This came up as having a really good review and they weren't wrong. We had a lovely meal, the service was very quick. I'm glad we booked as it's not a very big restaurant but this adds to the atmosphere. Would definitely try this again if I'm in the area.

Absolutely love this place. Best Chinese I've ever had. Love to see they still do the old stuffed duck in prawn paste. A must try if you haven't already. Just mouth watering flavours and relaxed atmosphere. Thanks guys. Keep up the good work

Beautiful food and perfect service, my only regret is that I ordered the honey ribs to share, they were incredible and I was bloody gutted to have to hand half over 😭

We booked here for my brothers birthday. I have to say it was all absolutely delicious. The ribs in honey were my favourite. We all said it was the best Chinese we have ever had. Really pleased with our customer service too.

Excellent food Had set price menu and it was worth it. Service a little slow but restaurant was full and they explained that some staff were sick or isolating. Overall an enjoyable evening.

I have been a customer of the Diamond for years with no issues. However this evening i am truly disappointed at the appalling customer service received. I rang and ordered 3 meals which when i got them home they were wrong the lady had taken the order incorrectly. I was asked to return the meals which i questioned as we are in a pandemic so shouldn't really be passing meals around. However to get the meal i ordered they insisted this was the exchange policy. I returned the meals and was then asked to pay more money which i paid but considering the inconvenience of me having to drive back this could have been wavered. When i was given my new meal it was handed over very abruptly and i was thrown a very disgusting look with no words exchanged and the lady stormed off. I am unsure why i was treated this way considering the mistake wasn't mine. Unfortunately i won't be using the Diamond again as this service was unacceptable to be made to feel like a criminal over a simple mistake which was no fault of my own!

Now back to it's best food wise but toilets need updating. Update 31/12/20: pre-ordered £100 of food for 1815 to 1900 slot. Still waiting at 2000 and no response to phone calls. Poor.

The Diamond has a large selection of really good quality dishes. Not had a bad meal there yet. Highly recommend the beef fillet sizzling dishes, especially the garlic and the black bean sauce ones. Staff are always pleasant and service is quick

I came here with the intention of spending two days in the Lake District. I drove for 5 hours and settled here. I was ready to have dinner. I didn’t have any expectations for Chinese food, but I really didn’t want to eat local food. The idea of ​​giving it a try turned out to be a surprise. The boss used to be a senior chef in Chinatown and came to open a restaurant here. There is no menu for Chinese-style Chinese food, but the boss will recommend it. It specializes in Sichuan cuisine, which is very delicious and has moderate spiciness. You can customize it according to personal requirements. The price is also very cheap, with two meat dishes, one vegetarian dish and a large portion of Yangzhou fried rice only costing just over 40 pounds. The store clerk is also very enthusiastic. Five-star recommended must-try place.

Food is unbelievably tasty, but over priced - a portion of ribs at nearly £7.00 - there was 6 ribs in there, that's MORE than £1.00 per rib. Definitely quality over quantity here. Obviously will eat here again as its seriously delicious, but won't be for a while as have to remortgage my house to afford it.

Went for lunch, had a great meal, Michelle very attentive and we were well looked after, good to know that the restaurant is still offering good food and pleasant service.

Good food the service does not match

What a surprisingly very good deliciously dinner by our standards it turned out to be .. surprising 'cos we were the only 4 pax present for the first 1/2 hour of the evening .. can't help thinking adversely about an eating experience . Highly recommend to those loves Chinese cuisine.. especially the Cantonese variety .

The worst Asian food I ever had. No Asian stuff, no Asian chef!! :O My friend and I ordered basics noodles and rice with chicken! It was worst as from a supermarket fridge! The vegetables was not fresh.
