I’d never been into The Harbour before, but I’d read some great reviews about it and decided to give it a try last Sunday. I initially phoned to see if I could book a table, which they don’t do. But to be honest, I don’t blame them as they we busy enough when we got there. The staff upon arrival we’re friendly and pleasant- plenty of smiles, which is sometimes such a rare occurrence in any establishment. We ordered a lamb Henry and a small roast beef dinner and a round of drinks. The roast beef was lovely, tender to cut and tasty. For my liking I prefer my beef pink, but it was so tasty I couldn’t complain. The vegetables were ample and cooked just right, and plenty of rich gravy! Oh and a delicious Yorkshire pudding too. My partner enjoyed his lamb Henry, devouring every mouthful. For both meals, a pint of Guinness and a gin and tonic we paid less than £20. An absolute bargain, given that the food was excellent. I would pay more for it should they choose to put the prices up as it’s definitely worth it. All in all, a good experience and one I’ll definitely repeat. Many thanks The Harbour .

My husband had heard good reports, so we decided to try for ourselves. The place was very busy, but we managed to find an empty table. However, we were asked to move to another? We both had roast beef, one normal and one large. It came ready plated, and could only be described as average. Mashed potato tasted instant. Carrots and peas are lazy veg! The portion size was generous, so I imagine most of the clientele were impressed by quantity rather than quality.

I went to Barrow for work & was booked into the Harbour pub. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome and at home. Sue took me to my room, which was a lovely single room with en-suite facilities, & also told me about the kitchen area which had breakfast cereals, etc to help myself in the morning. The food in the pub is amazing, I ate more in 4 days than I have all year It is a lovely pub, a really nice, warm atmosphere & everyone makes sure you are ok (which is nice when your in a new place on your own).I definitely would stay here again.

We met up with my mothers family for a meal here. It's a very welcoming place, very friendly and helpful service. Of our group of 9, three use walking aids and one is in a wheelchair, and the staff happily let us sit near the door and away from any steps. I'm not sure the loos are accessible in a wheelchair; which isn't to say they aren't, just that I don't recall them being so. The food is brilliant value - 9 meals came to under £52 and they were generous portions of tasty, home cooked food. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next day :-).

Went here for something to eat whilst visiting family. Absolutely first class. Small dining area within a small pub but very cosy with lovely staff. Small menu with excellent choices. All very reasonably priced. I had rump steak for £7.50 and can honestly say was up there with the best I've tasted. Other meals included hunters chicken, curry, lamb Henry, sirloin steak, carbonara, gammon and others I can't remember. Service was great, bill for 6 adults was £42. Compliments to the chef. Will definitely revisit.

Our first time here, made welcome by the lady behind the bar, there's no menu just a list on a blackboard we both chose roast beef and were served very quickly, the presentation could have been better and hotter but apart from the peas my wife left we both polished off everything and with a glass of wine each for less than £20 we were well satisfied, and the service was very good.

We visited this pub for a booked meal at 7pm and did not expect to find a child running around the lounge bar, nor a racket coming into this part of the pub from the public bar. We re not really dull people but we don't expect to have to compete with extremely loud partying, nor for the attentions of the bar maid, who would have preferred to have been at the party!Nonetheless, the food was good, although the scampi was served on a plate far to small for the portion!Anyway, it is Haverigg, and out of season, maybe a busy year, so perhaps the hospitality gets better......for the fact that the meal prices are comparable to many major cities, we sort of expect the same level of service!

I have visited this place twice since reopening (once for food and once for a social pint). The choice of lagers, spirits etc are good and the pint is one of the better tasting ones in the town (although expensive). We ordered some food from a very limited lunch menu (approximately 5 items listed on a blackboard). It was very cheap but did seem like parts were microwaved (chips aside - those were very good). I may be wrong but I did find the chicken slightly dry and my peppercorn sauce was not how I have had it in other places.I would probably have to return again and try the bigger menu to give a better idea of it, if I was to base my review on the sole time we ate the food here though - sadly I'd probably not return for food. Would happily return for a drink though as the staff seem nice and the pub itself is lovely.

The Harbour ??The food is great and plenty of it. Their Sunday roasts are to die for and the staff can`t do enough for you. It`s a real friendly atmosphere. It`s one of those places when you find it it`s best kept quiet so you can always get a table, But I`m afraid I must share it as it would be selfish to keep it to myself. If I had to mark them out of 10 I would have to give them a 12. I highly recommend a visit. If their room are as good as the rest of what I have seem I could recommend them as well.

Considering the coffee shop is adjacent to a ruin, I was expecting your average, tourist offering. I was happily surprised. We ordered baguettes, which seemed more like paninis. They were flavorful. I had bacon, brie & cranberry. The flat white hit the spot. And we shared a Victoria sponge cake that was our least favorite. Nevertheless, when you're with good friends, it makes for an even better lunch. Open Wednesdays - Sundays, 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

My room was warm, comfortable and the shower was fab! Breakfast was perfect too! A big thank you to Rick and Jackie! You went out of your way to help me and it is very much appreciated. I will be back!
