Been going here for years, it's always been very nice, but doubt we will go again, don't know what has happened but the patty potato wasn't cooked properly and the chowmain was so salty it went in the bin.shame really
The Full House Chinese takeaway is in the centre of town near Sainsbury’s and has an extensive menu. We simply had meat spring rolls which were tasty and a special chow main which was substantial and pretty good.
Prices are reasonable and the service very good.
We get food marios at least every other week and it’s always very good. Delivered on time but a really pleasant guy and the food is still hot when you get it.
Muy por debajo del estándar. Mala organización. ¡El viaje en autobús reservado para 4 noches tenía malas opciones de menú para 36 pasajeros de una edad promedio de 70+! El desayuno estaba bien, pero el servicio era lento y desorganizado.
The chicken nuggets and chips are awesome The restaurant itself is pretty nice. The food is not that bad as well. All the people there are kind I rate it a five star.
Friendly staff great atmosphere very good food. Only popped in for a drink but enjoyed a tasty cheesy steak and chips and 3 drinks each really enjoyed our afternoon.
Very clean and warm atmosphere we will definitely be back and highly recommend a visit
I had the best meal of my stay in Keswick here. I ate in town for the first two nights. Those venues had a livelier atmosphere but the food at the Pheasant was streets ahead.
I walked to Crosthwaite from town which took about 20 mins and was very easy..
Went to the bar and was completely ignored by the man wiping glasses chatting to a colleague and thought I’d made a mistake coming. Then caught the attention of a waitress who seated me straightaway.
Table service was friendly and efficient. Very good British food in large portions. I had the prawn cocktail and the pheasant which were well presented and delicious, No room for dessert though.
The pub was full for diners ( a walk-in request was turned down ) but no-one having just drinks. I was one of three solo diners, the rest couples and friends.
They are CARD only, no cash. It is much faster if you go up to the bar and pay rather than wait for the machine to come to you. The preset tipping options start at 12.5% but there’s also a custom option of you prefer to leave a different amount.
Overall I would definitely return and recommend the Pheasant. It’s a great example of a pub that does good food without being a gastro pub. There’s also seating available outdoors.
Small takeaway in Keswick which takes cash and card. Food was ok, service was ok, good selection of dishes. Off putting watching one of the older employees picking at the ingredients and eating them with his hands before wiping his hands on his trousers when he thought no one was looking. Other than that, no complaints.
The restaurant was not full and there were several wait staff, but we were ignored. Honestly, the food was fine but after we were served, nothing. We had to stand up to get the bill. This was after we had been given a dessert menu, but nobody took our order. Indifferent service, bordering on incompetent.
Electric car users be aware that as well as the high kw charge for charging your car you are to pay for the use of the car park also or you will be hit with a £100 parking fine, as I did.
Don’t even bother to contest it or you will get a standard reply from the manager declining. Won’t be back.
We stopped by in the morning for a sausage, bacon and egg roll and mocha. We sat outside as it was a but tight indoors for more than a couple of people.
The food was decent. A nice runny egg and tasty sausage and bacon. Well-filled as well. The mocha was ok. Not the best I've had but passable on a cold day to wash down the roll.
Not a bad little place where I'd happily go again for the breakfast roll.
My husband, myself and our 13 year old son visited The Brasserie two days ago on a Saturday evening. We were able to walk from our cottage accomadation to the Brasserie. On arrival to the venue we were very impressed by the beautiful driveway leading down to the Brasserie. The whole establishment is obviously very well kept with beautiful spring flowers and plants and lovely lighting down the drive. On entering the Brasserie however, we were suprised that the decor didnt appear to match the rest of the hotel. We were approached by a friendly waiter on arrival who took our drinks and food order promptly. He checked we were all ok during the first half of our meal and we felt his interactions with us were appropriate, not too overpowering or disinterested. My husband ordered the mushroom stroganoff. He felt it was quite ordinary and bland. I ordered the brushetta and a side portion of fries. I felt the brushetta was overpriced but the fries were beautiful. My son ordered the pizza which he said was really tasty! During the meal.another member of staff( female) arrived and we have to say it was quite an experience! We had ordered a second round of drinks. I had ordere a lakes gin and a small bottle of fever tree ginger ale to mix it with. I was allowing my son to taste the ginger ale from the bottle. The waitress appeared out of nowhere and snatched the bottle from his hand with a resounding"no!" It shocked us all! We reassured her that this was not an alcoholuc drink. She then commented in quite a rude manner when my husband wiped his nose gently on a napkin and also told us later on during the meal that she was used to working in the " posh restaurant". During our meal she stood over us on several.occasions which we felt was inappropriate and a bit unnerving! We felt she would benefit from some more training from more experienced members of staff. We did realise she was young and and was probably trying to.please (.a little too much). We were very patient with her but felt there may be future guests who may not be quite so tolerant! A little later during the evening my husband and our son went to use the toilet closest to the Brasserie. They came back and both told me there was smashed glass on the floor and a dirty nappy. My husband reported this to a member of staff from the spa team. On leaving the Brasserie we walked through to the hotel reception as we were all so concerned about the state of the toilet and wanted to ensure it had been sorted and the message had got trough. The lady on hotel reception didnt appear to know anything about this but we did see her promptly speaking to another hotel member of staff after our conversation. The only other disappointing part to.our meal was the cheeseboard. It sounded fantastic on the Brasserie menu but when it arrived we were informed that some of the cheeses were not available. The waiter did however add a few extra for us but we felt this could have been mentioned before we went ahead with the order. Sadly it was a disappointing experience as it could be a fabulous setting within the grounds of an obviously gorgeous hotel.

Scones weren’t fresh, actually one was frozen, very disappointing. We ordered raspberry & white chocolate & got cherry instead without being asked if we’d take them as an alternative.
Food arrived quickly, but when I got home I found I had a deconstructed kebab. The pita bread was extremely hard and inedible, I ended up using a tortilla wrap at home. There was a lot of Donna meat however this was sweaty. The salad was okay but on closer inspection there was a water in the salad which made it quite bland. The garlic sauce was nice and the chips were bang on! I would say don’t try it sober, have a few pints first!!
