Under new management. Information well out of date (probably lockdown). Sunday special 4th Dec Roast beef Yorkshire pud WRAP £6.95, roast potatoes £1.95, cauliflower cheese £1.95. Tasty enough but won’t be going again until they get their act together and do proper Yorkies, you cannot wrap them

Despite calling a few days ahead to book in our large party which I explained included dogs and young children, we were given an extremely rude reception - before being reluctantly led by the landlady to a table laid up for a different booking and told we had to fold down our buggies and leave within 2 hours. (There were other buggies in the bar area so this seemed particularly odd). We all felt really uncomfortable so decided to leave rather than let the atmosphere spoil our meal. Extremely disappointing as we had planned our trip to Keswick around a meal here. But delighted m to say all was not lost though and we found somewhere with a much more friendly and accommodating attitude.

We were thoroughly impressed by the food and service after visiting for Sunday lunch. Me and my partner order a pork and beef traditional roast and both left with fully belly’s and a new favourite spot to visit in Keswick. The meats were cooked to perfection, the beef was tender and the pork came with crackling in the mashed potatoes! All the vegetables were cooked and presented incredibly well and my partner tried, and loved, roasted parsnips for the first time! For dessert we got the gooseberry & apple crumble with custard and the special cheesecake - white chocolate and caramel - with cream. Both desserts were delicious and we both cleared our plates! Also a good selection of beers available. Highly recommend the Pheasant Inn and it is more than worth the 10 minute walk from the town centre!

We booked a table which wasn't ready for us. When we were seated we were given a menu. 10 to 15 minutes later I was trying to get someones attention to order. The staff were too busy talking to each other and even dancing! We ordered our meals which a member of staff came back 3 times to check parts of the order. I had steak pie which the meat was tasty but I was put off because the pastry was raw and inedable. My husband had fish & chips with 'crispy batter' which was anything but crispy. We both did not enjoy our meals. There was no service check so I reported the raw pastry when the plates were collected. All she said was 'I will tell the kitchen' ! Needless to say we won't be back

I would most definitely not recommend this Brewer's Fayre for carvery as it has been none existent on 2 occassions. Both times it has sold out at 1pm despite being on from 12-6pm. Utterly pathetic. Who does the ordering???? Clearly nobody. We then had to wait 40 minutes for the normal menu food. I went to this one as it is better usually than the Whitehaven one....I shall not be going to any now.

Stopped for coffee break this morning. Not too many places open at this time of year especially early morning (9.30).location and atmosphere is nice and staff were pleasant. Unfortunately scones were not fresh -baked yesterday I would think. Coffee wasn’t that hot either cold long before I’d finished my scone. Lots of jam served but butter very hard and difficult to spread. No cream. Price was fine if food had been better
