We are fairly regular visitors to Keswick and often “ self cater “ . It is always a pleasure to shop in Booths . The staff are always friendly , helpful and seem to actually enjoy working in the store . We also used the cafe for a takeaway breakfast and that too was up to Booths very high standards .Well done and thank you for all your efforts in these somewhat difficult times . We look forward to being able to visit Keswick ( & Booths ) as soon as when we are able to .

We have just had a lovely week in Keswick for Christmas. Today we had to check out of our little cottage by 10am so decided to go to Booths for a nice breakfast before our 2 hour drive back home. Myself, husband and our 3 and 4 year old girls. I waited in a queue, fairly busy but manageable for the size of the cafe. I ordered 2x sausage on toast, an avocado and bacon on toast, a breakfast and a pot of tea with some cold drinks. Adter ahout 5 minutes the guy who took my order came to the table to say they had no avocado. No problem at all I was able to just swap for sausage and bacon on toast. So we waited....and waited... from 10:30 until 11:20. I then noticed a couple getting up to leave as theyd finished their breakfast - I commented to my husband they were behind me in the queue. We then saw a tray of food coming from the kitchen and thought that must be ours, but it went to another table of 4 who had been quite a few behind me in the queue. So I went back to the guy who took my order and said excuse me do you know when our order will be ready as we only have an hour on the car pay and display. He snottily told me there was a 20 min wait. I told him we'd waited much longer than that and people behind me in the queue had had their food and left. He went to the kitchen and said it will be 2 minutes. No apology mind! The food did come in 2 minutes; but the breakfast (advertised on the menu as having 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 tomato halves and other bits) had only 1 sausage. I pointed this out to the (same guy) who just said theres no sausages. I asked ok so what are you going to do? We are already late being served and now am item is missing, are you refunding money or giving another of something else? He completely ignored me and went back to serving. We then watched as other orders with sausages came out. So I went to the counter and spoke to another server who brought out an extra sausage. The point is the breakfast should be what is advertised on the menu and if it isnt there should be an explanation. I asked to make a complaint about the service we have received as we had still yet to receive any form of apology. I was told to go and find a customer feed back form. Which we couldnt find anywhere. Thanks Booths you made the end of our trip a hassle and a rush. I couldnt tell you what the food tastes like as I had to rush it down to get back to the car and my poor children had to est walking back to the car and finish off in the car.

It's very sad when a company that has a winning formula changes that formula for something that fails to live up to their success of many years! My wife and I often went to Booths in Keswick and it was always a real treat. Good grub at fair prices! Alas after the last floods that that town had to suffer they changed many things. My wife and I very much looked forward to the re-opening of that branch of Booths - sadly we were both massively disappointed. The lovely Sunday lunches that we had always really enjoyed were no more! Along with the re-opening of the store the old went crashing out and the new came limping in. What was on offer was sadly not at all in the same league as the old menu & pricing. Every time we were in Keswick on a week end we always made a bee line for Booths and a Sunday lunch - sadly not anymore and when we called in a few weeks back instead of a bustling restaurant we were "met with an almost empty area. OK it was a wet November Sunday but to say it was like a morgue was putting it mildly.Come Booths get your act together and “go back to the future”

This is a supermarket that manages to make Waitrose look cheap. It is badly managed with staff standing around, either staring into the distance or chatting to each other, while the queues at the checkouts lengthen. It is reported in the press that the company has a problem with amount of debt it is carrying. The Booth family would be doing the citizens of Keswick a favour, if they sold up and handed over to a more competent operation.

You'd expect a supermarket in a resort town to have a limited range of very expensive groceries. This supermarket is the opposite! It has a vast selection of items, and prices are comparable to those in any London supermarket. I was dazzled! This supermarket in and of itself makes it worth it to base your Lake District stay in Keswick. Besides stocking every conceivable grocery item (the only thing I wanted but could not find was Swedish flatbread), they considerately provide toilets. Employees go out of their way to be helpful and guide you to the not-run-of-the-mill item you're looking for. The place is very conveniently located. The Keswick bus station is just outside.

The restaurant in Booths Supermarket in Keswick is very attractive and we have on several occasions enjoyed morning coffee there. On this occasion we decided to take lunch which proved to be a mistake. This is a self service restaurant so we queued up and ordered in the normal way and were told that the food would be delivered to our table. Thirty minutes later we approached a lady at the serving counter and asked what had happened to our meal. The reply "you were told it would be 20 minutes" was expressed bluntly. We responded by explaining that we had not been told it would be 20 minutes and that our time stamped receipt which we showed to the lady clearly indicated that we had been waiting 32 minutes. She said "I'll find out" and walked off. A couple of minutes later she arrived with our food which she placed in front of us and walked off without any form of comment.

It's a supermarket café, albeit one that thinks of itself as more of a Waitrose than an Aldi! It's a supermarket café that does a reasonably priced breakfast served by a smiley staff member and on the table in ten minutes....no time wasted means more time on the hill....handy for grabbing a packed lunch afterwards too. Not spectacular but certainly better than decent!

Typical supermarket cafe. Decent value, reasonable choice and clean. Friendly staff. Plenty of selection in the shop.

Customer service in the cafe was awful, was about to get up and order food and we got kicked out for not ordering anything. Very disappointing.

Called into Booths at Keswick for lunch. Fish and chips, simply fantastic. No soggy batter, proper chip. Had to wait about 20 mins as fish cooked to order. Best fish and chips for years and only £7.50.

And I am not about to start. Amazing local produce. Exceptional quality. Food and drink you cannot get anywhere else and a lovely clean store full of welcoming staff. Did I mention the outstanding cafe with fresh local food, yummy cakes and high quality teas and coffees.

Stay in Keswick very often and used to call at the Mace store (used to be Londis) in the Main Street in Town Centre but the staff are completely ignorant so it’s a pleasure to get all of our shopping at Booths, great locally sourced food & service with a smile

Booths supermarket in Keswick is fantastic, great choice of food, wine and ready meals. Would say Waitrose of the North but I thinks it is better than the for mentioned

This is conveniently located at the bus terminus in Keswick, so it’s a good place to call in for groceries before getting the bus back to wherever we might be staying nearby – usually either in Grasmere or Ambleside, if not in Keswick itself.

Service was extremely slow and haphazard. The coffee was good as was the Pumpkin soup, but the brown bed role was dry and unappetizing. The tables had not been cleared of previous customers. The staff when they got round to clearing the tables wiped the crumbs onto the floor but did not sweep up the mess that they made nor that was already on the floor. Such a shame as the Store has a good reputation.

Called in for a quick cup of tea at the end of a long walk. Pleasant staff and average prices. Spoilt somewhat by the untidy tables around us. Would recommend as a pleasant little cafe in Keswick.

As long as Waitrose refuse to go north then Booths and similar will fill the gap nicely. We bought some snacks and ready meals and it's a great place to graze if you're looking for a picnic or a hotel room supper. I was surprised when I stumbled across it but I've made a note of it now and I'll certainly be back next time I'm in Keswick.

Yes it's a supermarket but it's also got a great little cafe which does a really good breakfast. Good selection of food in the supermarket but don't forget to pay now for the car park outside. Also got self check outs recently to save queues.

We discovered this place while visiting Keswick and staying nearby. A quite nice place to pick up some groceries and deli cheeses and meats. They also had a nice selection of wines and beers. Had to ask for help a couple times and the people were very friendly. The only real issue were the long queues to checkout - but that might be due to the time of day. There is a quite nice place to buy some food and sit/eat and chat. Beware that it is overrun with school kids when school is out, however. You can catch the bus right there as well, which makes this very convenient.

Very convenient supermarket with cafeteria and plenty of parking - just needs a few staff in the cafeteria with smiley faces !!! Great to be able to pop in and get a beautiful bowl of soup and a roll - today a delicious celeriac and apple soup (chicken chowder was the other choice) Variety of other lovely food on the menu.Shame we had to ask for a tray to carry our food to the table. Lots of tables had not been cleared or wiped down. Service was very slow.

Booths i Keswick is the bus station in town. So if waiting for your next bus - you can enjoy a coffee in their cafe ( they are mind you a bit slow but nice)The shop it self is good. The have a good selection. And even the most picky shopper can find something for dinner here.

We called in this morning and I asked if they could do a gluten free sandwich for me. No we don't do that came the reply. They offered no solution and there was absolutely nothing on the menu that was a gluten free option. I ended up ordering just bacon, 1 rasher for 85p and then buying a gluten free loaf from the supermarket and making my own.If back street pubs and other establishments can do it, why can't Booths?Simply not good enough.

Absolutely horrible and nothing like the picture on the packet. I used to be a huge fan of Booths but the last two years has seen it get worse and worse in terms of quality and value. Today I thought why do I keep giving them my custom and could think of only too items that I rate: their reduced fat coleslaw and local South Lakes organic milk!

Have been visiting Keswick for around twenty years and have probably gone into Booths every time we are in the area. The variety and quality has always been exceptional, but in our last visit the prices seemed to have lost touch with reality. There are many products eg Birdseye that are in most supermarkets in the country at a similar price but Booths seem to have a massive premium. It was disappointing to feel that the captive tourist market is now being milked.

Visited here on Sunday and I had asked a member of your staff to pop something in the bin for me (I could have left it lying about in your shop however I thought that would be rude) to which this member of staff shook his head and under his breath said "for f... sake" I'm guessing you know what is meant here! I tried to tell someone on the checkouts who didn't seem too interested either! This is a lovely shop with lots of good quality produce it's a shame you can't say the same quality is looked for when your employing your staff! Vile!
