Popped in at 5pm on a Friday. Was already busy and managed to grab one of the last tables. Cumberland sausage and mash, pie and chips and a couple of pints hit the spot.

It's a great pub and keeps It's beers very well. Sadly, Jennings brewery no longer exists and I the people responsible suffer torments of the damned. Along with the beggars who ruined Marstons, Boddingtons and Wilsons.

Good menu range, steak pie really yummy & plentiful. Quick service at the bar with a good range of real ales. Only gave it 4 out of 5, due to the amount of smelly dogs in, some even on carpet even though it states dogs allowed on tiled/slate floor. Didn't like the idea of dogs in where food was being served/eaten.

Been coming in here for years. The food is consistent, and not bad at all. The staff are fine and welcoming. I knock one point off because the dog owners that go in there. Barking dogs, dogs sitting on seats, dogs covered in mud stinking the place out- disgusting behaviour. We are here to drink and eat not to sit in a kennels. Staff must turn some of these customers away,it's a health hazard.

We've been going to the Bank for years (probably 40) and we have noticed it's going down hill for the past few years. Food not as good (that's down to the chef which happens from time to time) but the beer is down to the owner/manager/tennant, lackluster dull and a poor choice. However this last visit was probably the worst we've had there. Unbelievably rude staff , when I asked what IPA's where on I was grunted at and the "boy" behind the bar pointed to the pumps! but the accolade for rudeness is especially awarded the front of house lady with long dark hair and glasses when she grabbed hold of my arm and pointed to the sign which basically says "no dogs beyond this point" (ie: not on the smelly sticky carpet that's been there for years) That rule & sign has been in place before she was born! I know it's a hard, unrewarding job, but if you can't cope with it don't do it.

Visited for our evening meal. I ordered the gammon and my partner had the lamb hotpot. The food was beautiful as always only downside was the lack of vegetables served with the hotpot, came only with bowl of red cabbage but some broccoli or carrots would have been nice. We always visit when in Keswick and it’s a fantastic pub.

Ate in there 1 evening. The food was OK, from a very generic pub menu featuring all the standards (pies, fish & chips, grills). Bar staff were OK, but the waiting staff were basically miserable. And the worst aspect - the place was full of dogs, none under the control of their owners, who were typically late middle-aged couples , treating their mutts as child substitutes. At one point there were 4 adjacent tables , each with 2 dogs, competing to see which could bark the loudest. And what did the staff do about it, yep you guessed, naff all. Unless you love dogs, and don't mind boring food, avoid. Apparently it's been taken over by Marstons from Jennings, and is going downhill quickly.

This must be the most overpriced meal I've ever had. Ordered the hotpot at £17,95 expecting a hearty meal after a long day's walking. It was a tiny bowl of gravy with around 6 small pieces of lamb , with a few slices of potatoe. A tiny bowl of cabbage on the side. Then £14 for 2 pints of lager just to rub the salt in the wound. Absolutely rip off , don't waste your money. Heard other people around us expressing their disgust in food and portion sizes. You have been warned. Won't be returning.

It was busy Saturdays lunch time. When we entered the pub, no waiter paid any attention to us. We wanted to know if there was a free table. One table was free. We ordered fish and chips. Once ordered at the bar not long to wait until cooked. The portions were too huge. One portion would be enough for two. The food was very delicious! The mushy peas was very tasty. But I'm not sure if would like to come again.

My mother (the pickiest woman on the planet) loved her food and that speaks for itself. We all ordered from the specials; Slow Cooked Pork Belly, Chicken Pie, Cod Bites and Crispy Chilli Beef. They were all fantastic. Nice homely feel to the pub, music, good atmosphere and great staff. Class👍🏼

We managed to grab a table as someone was leaving, then asked another table to grab an additional chair to fit the 5 of us. The staff noticed this and managed to fit us on a comfier table near the back (as we didn't have a dog with us) We all ordered our meals - sausage and mash, mac and cheese, lasagna and something else. Everything was fantastic. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The side salads with the meals were actual salads and not just a few leaves. We will definitely be back next time were in the area.

Located at one end of Keswick's main shopping drag, this place doesn't take bookings. If you see a table, just grab it, then order food and drinks at the bar and wait for food to arrive at your table. At 18:15 on a Saturday evening, we got a table in less than 5 minutes. Good selection of standard menu items and specials, all familiar pub standards. Vegetable lasagna and baked salmon both excellent. Total bill for food and 1 drink/person: 42 pounds. Dogs allowed in about half of the restaurant.

One of many pubs visited in our stay in Keswick. Visited it 3 times as we were running out of options and had a dog. Also the town centre was very busy. It's find your own table. No booking as constant stream of customers. Dogs only allowed on non-carpeted areas. Makes it awkward when people just sitting drinking on the other tables and you want to eat. Also the carpet was filthy so don't know why dogs weren't allowed everywhere. In my opinion you are either dog friendly or not. Had a burger. Was ok. Asked for well done but was not as well done as I liked. But ok. Had a salmon dish with crushed potato and veg. From the specials board and partner said it was the best meal they'd had during our two week stay Had steak and ale pie. Again full of steak pieces and reasonably tasty. Can't complain. Had a fillet steak. Asked for it to be well done. Well it came out so dry and burnt on the edges it was disgusting. A good chef can cook a steak well done without burning or drying it out. Served in a skillet floating in something. Not quite sure. Terrible for the price. Sea bass was in the specials board and partner had it and said it was beautiful. Looked really nice too. Good portion of sea bass too. Everything had to be ordered at bar including drinks and meals Service ok. No real smiles or interaction. Heard someone mention the leek and potato soup was too spicy for them and the lady with the blonde hair by the bar couldn't care less and treated the woman with complete disdain. Very unprofessional. In the warm weather week and other visits plagued by flies. Not v appealing and a real nuisance as doors were left open. Would I go back. No. But sort of one of the best of a bad bunch in Keswick town centre really.
