Sugar in Allerdale

Friendly staff great atmosphere very good food. Only popped in for a drink but enjoyed a tasty cheesy steak and chips and 3 drinks each really enjoyed our afternoon. Very clean and warm atmosphere we will definitely be back and highly recommend a visit

What a wonderful bar. The owner Faye and her team are very welcoming and so very friendly. Ellie done a lovely table for my friend’s birthday today. The food was great too. We all had such a good time in there that we will be coming back soon !

Perfect for us, music was great, staff extremely friendly and chatty, felt super welcome. The food was delicious along with the cocktails!

The food was ok.. service was shocking to the point I wanted to walk out. The girl that was behind the bar was vaping and on her phone, then proceeded to use the disabled toilet and take along her vape and phone with her.. no words. The food came and the woman complained that the table before her were wanting all different things from the menu and that our meal was easy. One man came in , waitied at the bar for 5 mins but nobody appeared so he left. I also watched the girl clean the tables with a cloth that she had dropped on the floor. The decor is lovely and has so much potential but the staff need proper training. We are in Silloth every 2nd weekend and have ate in most places, definitely wont be back here.

The restaurant itself is very clean and modern, it is certainly unique in Silloth and is looking to provide a high end establishment. However, it is sadly let down by the poorly made cocktails where they use poor ingredients such as tinned pineapple! At £10+ a cocktail I was expecting a good cocktail with quality ingredients. Food is poor and mainly bought in items assembled together in small portions. Based on the cost of items against the quality of the product this establishment is very poor. Brilliant if you’re just having a pint but the food and cocktails are very very poor.

Lovely afternoon spent in Sugar had drinks and Sticky chicken to eat so good. Meet some really friendly people all just chillin and the management and staff were fantastic definitely recommend.

We visited for lunch. Two adults and one child, the nuggets and chips were ok and standard, the adults ordered two flatbreads (£15 each). The first came with the smallest amount of topping, it was a Greek salad, we laughed out loud at how little there was. We wondered if maybe chips would arrive to supplement it, but no. The second flatbread was salt and chilli chicken with a sticky sauce. The sauce turned out to be reduced soy sauce and after a couple of bites was completely inedible. The flatbread tasted mouldy. £46 for one kids meal, an inadequate adults meal and an inedible adults meal. I would have complained, but no one came back to check on our meals during or after we’d been served, despite there being lots of empty tables so this wasn’t due to a large number of orders, and we had paid on order.. An absolute rip off.

Really friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great location facing the green, and good food. Only criticism would be that meals are slightly overpriced - £15 for a burger or loaded fries - now with certain toppings that’s fine, but need a reduced price for more basic meals.

Called in for drinks. Welcoming and friendly staff, nice atmosphere and cheerfully decorated. Small uncovered outdoor area is also available on the pavement. Excellent choice of drinks and cocktails available, along with a good selection of street food. Lovely views over The Green. Although we did not have food on this occasion, some other customers did and it looked and smelt very good. Would recommend if you're in Silloth to pop in and have a drink while watching the world go by.
