We were disappointed by the whole experience. The food and service did not live up to the marketing hype. The pizzas were OK but nothing special. We visited on an icy day when the patio on the way into the restaurant was really slippy and our friends young daughter slipped and fell. The response from the waitress was totally unacceptable - she didn't apologise or ask if our friend's daughter was alright, she actually laughed and told us we should have read the signs (we didn't see any signs).
Probablemente el mejor plato de carne de cerdo que he comido en mis extensos viajes. El maravilloso personal y el servicio hicieron de esta comida una experiencia verdaderamente excepcional. Volveremos en 2020!
Beautiful environment; complete supporting facilities! There are plenty of parking spaces and food markets! There is a pier where you can take a boat trip on the lake or sit or lie on the grass to enjoy the sunshine! It gives people a comfortable and pleasant place! Downwind to the bridge house for a glance is also close!
Called in for dinner. Husband had fish and chips which were fine. I ordered Keralan Veg curry. Turned out to be veg curry sauce with two pieces of cauliflower and a nann and poppadom to dip. Very disappointing. Complained to the young girl serving. She said she would see what she could do. Nothing apparently as she didn’t bother to come back. I complained to the young man clearing the dishes. No comment from him either. I made it clear when paying for the fish and chips how poor the curry was. No apology. Nothing. Needless to say I refused to pay for the curry. Cannot recommend and will certainly not go again.
Great fish and chips, and a memorable experience overall! The bloke serving was absolutely full of beans and gave us a good laugh while we were waiting for our food. It's doesn't cost extra to sit in and eat, and for some reason there's a free-to-play arcade machine in the back corner. It has quite a chaotic atmosphere, but I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back next time I'm in Keswick :)
Perfect. Beautiful battered fish, great chips. Quick service. Served in what seems to be a compostable tray which is good. Partner enjoyed his spam fritter barm. No complaints here

Pretty awful if I'm honest, worst chinese i have ever experienced, sweet & sour dish supposed to have peppers , onions, pineapple etc , we just got a crappy tub of sauce in a tub to poor over, chips were hard & tasted of over used cooking oil, the other bad reviews confirm how bad KL is , not gonna go on wasting my time , just dont bother.
Meal for 3 was very good - nice selection and all dishes were prepared well and tasted good. Overall an enjoyable meal at a reasonable price. Two containers of rice perhaps too much. One noodle would have improved it.
Called in for a quick breakfast .
Ordered two bacon rolls at the counter. Sat down, waitress brings tea and coffee 5 mins later and announces we have no bacon or sausage .
No apologies . Offered scrambled eggs!
Wife drank the cappuccino , I had half a cup of tea.
No apologies when we went to pay. No offer of refund or rebate on the drinks.
Very poor.
A cafe that offers breakfast, allegedly, but only offers rolls . No full breakfast at all .
Then runs out of bacon and sausage at 0910 hrs on a Tuesday morning.
Appalling .
Do they actually want business ,because we will not be returning .
Been here several times and will return - Workington has few eateries and was suprised and very pleased to find somewhere doing mexican, and that was open on a mid-week evening when the town is dead. Food is generally very good, tasty, fresh, with decent portions and a good selection at very reasonable prices. This is not a chain texmex restuarant, so don't expect the usual formula environment or menu - both of which are a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Being mid week it was quiet, but I could imagine a busy weekend would 'up' the atmosphere, and it would be fun to go with a group of friends.
This is a family run business, they work really hard and are to be admired for giving it a go - it's not perfect in all respects, but staff have always been really great, make you very welcome and want you to have a great time, lovely people who I will continue to support, and enjoy eating with.
If the people of Hawkshead think this is a decent fish and chip shop i feel for them!!! Chips left stagnant under the heaters, they ended up soggy and tasted of cold grease. The fish was done fresh but no seasoning at all so despite it being hot and crisp is was completely tasteless. Sausage was so dry and wrinkled I dread to think how long it was under the heater for! The curry sauce was not a sauce it was just thick cold paste! The peas again had no taste. Felt horrendous after eating some of it (it got binned) and felt even worse the morning after. Woeful!!!
