Ordered 3 ciabatta sandwiches and a pizza. After waiting for around an hour with no information as to why our food was delayed I queried where are food was and was told it was coming ( no explanation as to why it took so long- there was only about 6 other people in the bistro) After a further 5 mins was offered drinks on the house which we declined- ( we wanted food) but following an hour waiting for 3 sandwiches and a pizza which should only have taken about a quarter of the time and no sign of the food asked for a refund.

Very beautiful setting, cafe was clean and lovely interior. Very limited menu. We were the only group eating. The manager was very miserable and didn’t make any conversation with us. The younger man working was more helpful and chatty. The atmosphere was tense as the two members of staff didn’t speak to each other even though it was very quiet. I think the place could do with more variety on the menu and would be much busier if the management was more cheerful and welcoming to customers

We stayed for three nights as part of a works reunion and thoroughly enjoyed everything that the site had to offer. The bar and bistro is a real bonus and the food we sampled, various pizza, was very good. There is also a good selection of beers/ wine etc. The outside decking area is beautiful, especially if you land lucky like we did and end up with glorious sunshine. A final word for the staff, all of them are very nice and there was no long wait for drinks or food. The whole place is very classy and a great place to relax. We'll worth a visit if either staying on the site or in the area of Kendal.

We have stayed a few times camping and always headed intoKeswick for something to eat. Having the bistro was fabulous. We were able to have dinner and a few drinks before heading to our tent. Both staff on the food and bar were exceptional, so friendly and made to feel very welcome. If the site had a few play equipment for children like a swing and slide this site would be 10/10.

The bistro is in a lovely location with nice outdoor seating for the views. The food we ordered was very good, and the salad particularly tasty. It's a shame that the coffee isn't great; After all the investment in such a lovely building a proper offee machine is a real omission.

We came for Brunch on a wet Sunday morning, it was very quiet, only two tables being occupied when we arrived. The staff made us welcome, telling us to find a table and to order at the counter when we were ready. We found a table that comfortably sat five people, looked at the menu and decided what to order. I chose a ciabatta and a coffee, went along to order and paid. While there I checked out the cake counter (as I'm into cake) this was really disappointing, mainly because of the way the cakes were displayed, everything was brown, Biscoff Blondie, Brownie and Millionairs Shortbread which looked dreadful as the chocolate had bloomed (really Dull) which suggests it had been stored in the fridge. It should have a nice shiny glossy top. The counter in my opinion needs set out so it looks appealing to the eye, so in among the brown maybe some cake with icing on, muffins or a lemon drizzle cake. I'm sure that way you would sell more cake. My friends hadn't even seen the cake! Anyways back at the table coffees arrived and scones for the other ladies. Then someone from the kitchen arrived and said to my friend that the croissant she had ordered would take 15 mins or so as they were cooked fresh, that was ok as we weren't in a rush. After 20 mins her croissant arrived, I still didn't have any food so I asked the waitress, she said it was on its way, as everything was cooked fresh and it was a bit early for ciabattas, as they don't usually serve them till later. After another few mins mine arrived but by this point I had waited almost 30 mins. I don't mind waiting but think this should be stated on the menu or staff should inform you when you go to order, certainly giving you the option to choose something else, before you pay. Even if everything is cooked fresh 30 mins is a log time to wait for a sandwich, especially as the Bistro was so quiet, I dread to think how long we would have had to wait, had it been busy.

We came here for a snack and a drink on Christmas Eve. There was plenty of seating available and the restaurant is modern, clean, light and airy with lovely big windows. I had a scone and a coffee. The scone was nice but I found it a bit dry and so it just crumbled up. The coffee was nice. Prices reasonable and friendly staff.

Best chips in Workington. The service is quick, staff are always really friendly. This is a busy cafe because the food is fantastic. Lots of great food, great price - would highly recommend ☺️

My friend and I called in here whilst in Wigton and had a bacon buttie and a barista butties both of which were delicious and cooked perfectly. I had a latte which was lovely and my friendcsaid her cappuccino was one if the vest she'd had. The staff were so helpful and friendly and we will definitely return.

We stayed here for 2 nights and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The rooms are large, bright with some spectacular views and those special touches such as little toiletries for your use. The bath in our room was so opulent I could have stayed in there all evening. The dining area is quite niche you can have quiet discreet corners for a romantic evening or more open. The food is excellent- if I had 1 thing to say that was negative, it would be that I wouldn’t have a starter so I could have a dessert, I found each time I did I just didn’t have room to have one! The main thing for me was the staff. The staff quite simply made it for me. NOTHING was too much trouble, they were friendly, welcoming and went above and beyond , yet at the same time let us be. If you want somewhere, where you can be comfortable, away from it all and have excellent accommodation and food this is the place.

Sad to say that our trip there was a a big disappointment when it come to the food. We all had beef, it was dry and chewy. When we talked to the waiter, we have been told that is the way the chef does it. It is a shame that they only sell well done cuts of meat...

My wife and I went for a trip to Lowther Castle and Gardens with the in-laws, and after such awful weather we decided to travel to Cockermouth to treat ourselves to the excellent Fredricks which we've visited many times before. We started with the seafood platter / selection with a portion of chips for the young one. It's a great selection of items for fish lovers! After, we ordered some lovely main dishes, enough for 3 adults and 2 kids (1 kids meal of pizza and chips!) Lovely meal to end of evening. Will be back when next in the area.
