Friendly atmosphere and I have alot of help and support from them all. Always around if I need them. I give you all 1000% keep up the good work see you all soon Tina and Gary xxxxxxx

Grim AVOID. Should have left as soon as I noticed only 1 person behind bar and massive queue. Food awfully, all orgers wrong, food missing, cold when it arrived. Staff all kids, no supervision was horrendous. Any chef would have been embarrassed to turn food out like that, was en even reheated grule, just cold dry meat. Spoons food is grim, but it's 100 % better than this place. After Covid and Brexit no doubt it's hard to recruit staff, but come on Brewers Fayre, get a grip...

Entered to be greated with a sign saying saying to wait here to be seated. Waited almost 10 minutes for anyone walking past us or anyone serving on the bar to even acknowledge us. In hindsight we should have just walked out before then but the kids were hungry so we persevered. We were finally shown to a table under freezing cold air con with slug trails on the carpet (they were probably attracted to the chips nobody had bothered to pick up). We ordered food which took over an hour to arrive and it was grim at best. The woman that introduced herself as restaurant manager was incredibly patronizing when we brought everything to her attention, her insincere use of calling us darling was cringeworthy.

Absolute shambolic, waited an hour and half for food to arrive but not as bad as table next to us which took 2. One person serving at the bar so 20 minutes to get a drink. Food arrived and no sausages or tomato on my mixed grill, we ordered fish and chips and was charged an extra £1 for bread and butter which was not a problem just would have been nice to get it. All very young staff doing their best but clearly chucked in the deep end and there was clearly a lack of any management to implement any control. Will we come back, no chance

I would most definitely not recommend this Brewer's Fayre for carvery as it has been none existent on 2 occassions. Both times it has sold out at 1pm despite being on from 12-6pm. Utterly pathetic. Who does the ordering???? Clearly nobody. We then had to wait 40 minutes for the normal menu food. I went to this one as it is better usually than the Whitehaven one....I shall not be going to any now.

Both of us had sirloin steak, 1medium 1 well done. I had medium which tasted 'not quite right' and 'off', I hardly ate it. My husbands was quite tough and difficult to cut, he left half of his. We didn't complain as there was quite a lot of loud laughing between some of the staff and felt it would fall on deaf ears. We have no complaints about our server. We were told when ordering that there was only 2 chefs on and meals may take longer than usual even though the restaurant was quiet. I will not recommend

It sucked! After we got a table, 15 minutes later we found out that we had to order both drinks and food at the bar. After we ordered we waited 50 minutes for our starter, but with background music... namely the restaurant's telephone that rang 53 times! The starter finally arrived, a big fried greasy mess with the fat coming straight out of your pores. We already indicated (reluctantly and since we had already paid at the bar) that they could start with the main course because that would probably be better... you guessed it, all this food was even dirtier than my dog's chunks in sauce. . Rob Geus and Gordon Ramsey would think something of this. A steak that is even harder than my crocs. Scandalous!

Very modern branch of Brewer's Fayre nextdoor to Premier Inn, Cockermouth. The food and service here were excellent. I would suggest avoiding this place at peak times if you don't want your ears screamed off as when we went there were a lot of kids present that were grizzling. I'd give this 0 stars if I could. We turned up about 6.30 on what they called a busy Sunday, even tho the place was half empty, and was told that if we ordered food, there'd be a little wait. Not a problem. However, you don't expect the wait to turn into an hour, and, when the food arrived it was luke warm at best, so much so that I had to return my dish and get a new one. We then ordered desserts, and the jam Roly poly came out with cold custard. To us, the staff didn't seem to care. Whether it had been a long day and they were tired, or short staffed who knows, but I've been in hospitality and customer service nearly all my working life, and you always treat the customer as if they were the first person through the door, and the food should be the same quality throughout the day. Sorry to say that we won't be going back

Diabolical prices for poor food. Nice service from the children manning the place but possibly the worst dining experience from a chain in the UK and that’s saying something. To turn up at any restaurant and be told to take a table and order at the bar isn't really acceptable these days. Especially when there is only one person behind the bar who is taking food orders and drinks orders at the same till. Big queue on both nights we were there which lasted all night. Having waited in queue and ordered food and drinks we were happy enough to be served starters after about 20 minutes. However, we then had to wait around 45 minutes for main course to arrive. This was even more annoying when several tables who had arrived later than us were served their mains (including one table of around 10 customers. This was brought to the attention of the servers several times with no reaction. When food eventually arrived, the quality was very good to be fair, but having waited so long really spoiled the evening. To be fair, after complaining at the bar, one of the senior staff offered a refund of some of the cost which was gratefully received. However the overall experience was so disappointing that we would be very reluctant to eat here again.

Breakfast was slow and cold, and tasted like it had been heated in the microwave. There were only 2 girls working, they were lovely and worked really hard. Dinner was much better less crowded but more staff.

Brewers Fayre presents a mixed bag of experiences that warrants a three-star rating. One of the significant drawbacks is the consistently cold temperature of the food. Unfortunately, this issue persists across various dishes, significantly impacting the overall enjoyment of the dining experience. Cold meals are a letdown, overshadowing potential positives and leaving diners with a less than satisfactory impression. Adding to the challenges is the slow pace at which plates are cleared from the table. Efficient table clearing is a basic expectation in any dining establishment, and the delayed service in this aspect detracts from the overall ambiance. A prompt clearing of dishes contributes to a more pleasant dining environment, and the lag in this regard at Brewers Fayre is a noticeable shortcoming. Despite an initial promise of speedy service, a notable hiccup occurred when the staff seemed to forget about our desserts. This lapse in attention to a crucial part of the meal is a significant flaw in the overall service. The anticipation built during the main course was deflated by this oversight, leaving a somewhat sour note at the end of the dining experience. Consistency in service is crucial, and this lapse was a noticeable deviation from the expected standard. On a positive note, the pricing at Brewers Fayre is notably affordable. For those seeking budget-friendly dining options, the cost may be the redeeming factor. When considering the price, the overall value for money becomes more forgiving. However, it's essential to balance the cost with the quality of the dining experience. While a lower price point is appreciated, it should not come at the expense of fundamental aspects such as food temperature, timely service, and attention to detail. In summary, Brewers Fayre provides a mixed experience that earns it a three-star rating that I think is "fayre" and balanced. The consistently cold food, slow plate clearing, and the dessert oversight detract significantly from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. However, the affordability of the meals provides a silver lining, making it more forgivable for those on a tight budget. The three-star rating reflects a balance between reasonable pricing and notable service shortcomings. If Brewers Fayre can address the issues with food temperature and service consistency, it has the potential to enhance its standing in the competitive dining landscape.

We visited here for a quick lunch yesterday. We didn't find the service to be very friendly. They were advertising sandwiches that they didn't have which was a shame. We had beef sandwiches and the beef was burned all around the edges and black. I presume cold beef slices were put in the bread and grilled as it got burned. The gravy was pretty tasteless too and for £11 a sandwich it was a little disappointing!

Called into this Costa late morning on Saturday for a coffee as a party of four. The coffee was nice enough and my Dad seemed to enjoy his chocolate orange muffin but nothing to write home about, especially for the prices charged. The tables need to be cleared quicker, as people were coming and looking for somewhere to sit but rubbish etc. still on tables. My wife's cup was also not clean, I took this back to the counter and it was replaced quickly but that's not the point really........

It took me to ask if he wanted to know wat I wanted , then took another 20 mins to actually get it made , they were talking and laughing amongst themselves, the tables were rotten also the floor, it's certainly gone down in that last 12/18 months needs a good manager to get it back to how it was

5 of us met up here, as walk in, They found us a table, It was clean, staff friendly, we ordered the food arrived with in reasonable time fresh and hot. Menu choice very good, portion sizes very good cooked well. Prices reasonable. Staff helpful and cheery. Had read a couple of bad reviews but then often there are those that look for issues. Will be back.

Came here on a Wednesday late afternoon with my family and our dog. Easy to get parked. Food was really nice and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Will definitely swing by here again when in the area.
