Costa Coffee in Allerdale

I love Costa but sometimes the service is incredibly slow due to staffing issues on the day , vould be better organises. All in all a pleasant environment with a selection of good food and choice of hot and cold drinks . One more drawback is the toilets are very unreliable , need them sorted Costa !

This is one of my favourite coffee shops. However service could be faster some days.. They are a lovely friendly bunch of staff though ... I have my favourite team members as they know me and are a lot quicker than the ones that seem to be on loan from other branches. I would like to see more food available for gluten free and lactose free customers like myself. Not just the pre package stuff as though are awful and full of sugar. A lovely gluten free cake would be appreciated by a lot of customers I'm sure! Oh and please do away with the extra charge for alternative milk... It's free for Soya but others we are charged for. That is unfair!!! We are being penalised for having allergies and intolerances! On the whole though. This is a lovely little cafe with fantastic staff.

It's Costa, everyone must know what it's like by now!

Good coffee and cakes. The staff were too busy holding a conversation with each other and forgot to put my toasties in or get the cake ready. Then had to ask agsin what it was I wanted???? This was after I'd given my order, paid, and was waiting for my coffees. I was the only person waiting, so they were not unusually busy. Put your customers first, and hold your chat until your break or your customers might just move to the coffee shop across the way.

Good value of muffins, sandwiches, coffe. Prices should be cheaper. You can sit inside or outside, around lot of shops. Busy place. Clean and tidy. Easy access

Going down hill, continually change of staff, very rare you get a hot coffee, even if requested. Tables not cleared regularly. Food selection could be better

Awful place, staff rude!. While trying to pay for my drinks the male cashier named matt with glasses and tattoos telling me to hurry up and pay because the was a que behind me!. Will not be visiting this place again and be going to muffin break instead because of this belittling member of staff.

Awful service, endless service, the place looks filthy as all the tables are full of dirty dishes and leftover food and nothing being cleared away

Best Cappuccino I've had in a while from Costa, more froth than milk...how it should be. Staff are attentive and friendly. Good choice of cakes & toasties. Keep it up 👌👍😊

Been going in for my coffee before work for the past 3 4 years.And for the best few months the service has got worse.On one occasion I stood and waited between 6 and 8 mins to get served no que plenty of staff the guy just looked at me and walked off.Staff most seem unattentive and been occassions bickering with each other.

Shocking service. Our order was forgotten about and when we did finally get it it was 80% froth. Dirty inside and actually heard someone being interviewed in the middle of the store. Won't be back.

The queue was long, and we had to wait to pick up our drinks rather than them brought to our tables. One worker had knocked a class onto the floor, and promptly walked off! Disappointing. They also hadn't cleaned any tables properly, there were piles of old tables drinks and food.

Extremely slow service without smiles

Only got time to do this review, Sunday was fantastic, wasn't too busy. Brilliant customer service from I think his name was declan. Amazing 👏

A busy Costa store in the middle of the shopping centre. All the usual range of Costa products available. Time for a quick update following another visit on a Thursday afternoon, was a decent enough visit. Speed of service has improved and very friendly staff. Will call here again.

With the amount of children hanging about inside the staff fidnt seem to have the experience or confidence to tell them to leave.

It's Costa. Nothing too special about the place. The staff were good, the tables were fairly clean, bit of a wait for the drinks and not the cheapest. But that's Costa.

Me and my carer visited Costa for an afternoon lunch drink and because they also have a disabled toilet here which unfortunately was out of order when we last visited, we were going to sit outside and eat our own sandwiches that we brought with us but the weather was very grim and no sun to warm us so my carer went in to order the cappuccinos and I followed and found a suitable place to sit that wouldn't block anyone wanting to pass by. I asked a nice young lady who was clearing the tables nearby if it was okay to eat our sandwiches and she said it was fine and I do enjoy a good cuppa when eating bread. We found all the staff to be friendly the interior to be of high standards when it comes to cleanliness and hygiene. They do cater for those who have younger children that sit in highchairs as I spotted some nearby to where we sat. We will definitely be visiting again and hopefully they will of got the disabled toilet back to normal. I was informed to use the neighbouring cafe that had a working loo which I headed for and used.

Standard Costa experience but staff were slightly friendlier than other branches I've been to.

All the new customers had to clear Their own tables as not enough staff to serve and do this shame as it's a busy shop

Relaxing 10min away from the hustle

Not impressed. Toilets not very clean, none of the tables were clean when we sat down, we had to clear our own. Staff not very helpful. We asked for someone to clear the juice the toddler spilt and ended up having to do that ourselves. Good job I had a pkt of tissues. None of the tables got an anti back wipe while I was there.

Always go to Costa coffee. Love it.

Coffee was nice but the place could do with a clean, had to change the chairs to find the cleaner of the two. Neither was that great.

The staff here are all so friendly and welcoming and work extremely hard. I am treated like a friend every time I go in and they remember my order which is a nice touch. Always a great quality coffee here, flat white is my go to drink.

Not sure why my review was deleted... In summary: the staff were friendly but forgot to make one of our two drinks but quickly made it and brought it over so I could eat my tostie before it got cold. Only a few customers in but nearly every table was dirty as was the till area and the food/coffee prep areas.

The staff are very friendly and the hot chocolate is to die for.

So slow! waited ages for lukewarm coffee no excuse as there were more staff than customers!

A tad pricey but the quality of coffee is top drawer. The purple one latte is next level!

Didn't actually visit. Hence 1 star. If I tried deleting it would remove all Costa reviews submitted. Have to say looking through the window it looked like it may be the best Costa the world has ever seen.

Covid friendly space helpful appreciative staff

My husband and i visited here this afternoon as we usually do after a shop around town, and was instantly met with shouts about only one person being allowed in ( fair enough during covid , tho there is a polite way to approach this) , after my husband left the store and waiting correctly distanced in the que , the same dark haired lady then marched back around the counter to inform me I was not stood precisely on the covid spot marker on the floor! I was about 4 inches away and the other lady in the queue was already walking towards the counter. I have worked in coffee shops and genuine felt this lady was on some power trip over the covid regulations and this was a big put off. As I can see from previous reviews it seems to be an issue , so perhaps more training for certain staff members on their people skills and attitude should be given. Wont be coming back , Starbucks all the way !!

I had a black forest hot chocolate. Its was very nice. As it was a large one. I was very full afterwards. Vety pleased. Would certainly recommend to others.

I visited Costa after acquiring a buy one get one free voucher on festive hot chocolates. The service was prompt and polite throughout and the hot drinks tasted great, they even accompanied them with a wrapped chocolate. I wasn’t clear on my original order and I ended up with the wrong type of milk for my partners drink. I truly appreciated the way the barista Jayne handled this. It is rare occasions like this that secure loyalty and repeat custom.

They do the best they can to make sure tables are cleaned down any waiting times are reused as quick as possible bear with them quality of service is excellent.

Well laid out, with plenty of tables. Very quick service. Would have been 5 if the staff gave some basic manners.

It was where I went to go with my step mum and her sister and my brothers. It was honestly fun

I purchased a tea and a coffee and waited for said items, as the young girl placed the coffee on the tray it looked to be complete but as she walked off I thought she said "oh hold on", when she walked back she looked at the tray then myself and said "is it not all there?" I replied "sorry yes it looks to be" she then rolled her eyes at me and started to walk away, I was so mad I actually replied "I'm sorry I thought you said hold on as you were walkign off". An innocent mistake was made by myself but I think some serious manners need to be drilled into these staff! This isnt an acceptable way to treat customers!
