Been here several times and will return - Workington has few eateries and was suprised and very pleased to find somewhere doing mexican, and that was open on a mid-week evening when the town is dead. Food is generally very good, tasty, fresh, with decent portions and a good selection at very reasonable prices. This is not a chain texmex restuarant, so don't expect the usual formula environment or menu - both of which are a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Being mid week it was quiet, but I could imagine a busy weekend would 'up' the atmosphere, and it would be fun to go with a group of friends. This is a family run business, they work really hard and are to be admired for giving it a go - it's not perfect in all respects, but staff have always been really great, make you very welcome and want you to have a great time, lovely people who I will continue to support, and enjoy eating with.

Really pleasant young staff. They were attentive and keen. The menu was OK. Nothing special, We expected a lot of taste, but everything was quite bland and tasteless. The restaurant lacks atmosphere and style. Disappointing all together.

We came here for the set meal menu as couples. There was so much much money for your food and all to a good standard. If I was to be picky which all four agreed on the meat balls could do with abit of seasoning. Apart from that the food was so good with no complaints. Cooked perfectly and was all served in perfect timing. The staff were super friendly and the area was clean and tidy. All in all a great night and would like to thank the staff and management. I would go back again.

Not a great experience and the service was poor. There was only myself and my husband and 5 other diners and yet we waited for ages to get a menu and a drink. When we asked the waitress about items on the menu she was unsure of what they were. Her tablet also wouldn't let her select the dishes I asked for so 3 times I had to tell her so she would remember what to order. Lets get back to good old pen and paper. Food when it arrived was so so. atmosphere was zero and this was on a Saturday night with 7 diners total!

Went to dees other night for the great reviews and was so dissapointed the staff were friendly and nice but the food was the disappointment we had tapas and every single one and no flavour just plain the only thing that had flavour was the prawn in a chilli and lime watery sauce which was just Frank's red hot sauce and the chilli chicken in sweet chilli sauce just looked like the frozen strips of chicken you get In asda with a sauce poured over, was so gutted as mexican is my fav

Didn't know the place existed, just happened to spot the sign so gave it a chance. What a great find. Lovely food with an extensive drinks list. We both had the enchiladas, big portions! They come with a choice of 1 side and 2 sauces. Very friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Visited Dee's Workington on Saturday. It opens at 5, and we didn't have book. We both ordered the 3 dishes for £12 each.5 of the six dishes were georgous. Wouldn't order the ribs again nothing on them. My partner got, omelette, prawns on skewers and garlic mushrooms. I got ribs, chicken n tomato in creamy sauce, (awesome), and roast potatoes with chorizo also georgous. 1 pint of Guinness and two gins. Wish I had got the gin board for £10, because I must have got told the wrong price for gin n tonic. The young girl who served us couldn't have been any nicer, she was lovely.i will be going back in the next couple of weeks. The only reason I never gave it 5 stars is because the room was very cold.

Been meaning to try here since it opened and finally had chance tonight, had a warm welcome from staff and was seated next to a play area for my son which was perfect to keep him busy! Got warm bread and garlic butter to start for free, then I had the vegetable and bean burritos, there was so much food for the price of it, it was unbelievable! My only slight complaint was that it was quite plain, however there was Tabasco on the table which I put on which helped! My son got veg with his kids meal and it was fresh veg which looked really good! What made it for us was the staff they were so lovely and did such a good job and were brilliant with my son, one of them even brought me a pot of vegan cheese to try as I’ve hated everyone I’ve tried so far! Would 100% go back just try something other than the burrito!

Lovely food for a family get together. The staff were really friendly & helpful. Took a little bit of time working through the menu, with different fillings for fajitas(no fried peppers & onions)enchiladas, burritos etc, then sides & sauces. Good to have another choice(Mexican) in Workington

This was our first visit to Dees the staff and service was excellent, although menu was limited we choose Enchiladas were a good choice and would recommend. The place is lovely it was quiet with not many other customers as I don't think the word has got out about the place yet!! Hope it gets well supported as there isn't many eateries in the town. Would recommend giving the place a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Firstly, they have improved the internals significantly from the previous owners of the property by the installation of decent central heating, and it makes a massive difference to make you feel comfortable. The comfy seating area for just trying out the cocktails or other drinks is a great idea, and was nice to move over there after our meal for a more relaxing drink. Cocktail menu isnt huge, but the staff are more than happy to make you something else up if you ask and they have the ingredients. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Mexican themed food is a nice addition to Workington, to have an escape from the normal pub grub. The food we had was very tasty and we will definitely return.

Good meal but would choose differently next time. I had Burritos.. got 2 big ones and I was a bit over filled really. Would share with friend and have some Nachos to share too. Would also have salad next time not roast veg ( which were cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and peas - I expected courgette/ pepper etc) Mexican slaw lovely and the sweet corn cobs perfect .. but remember to order a side of butter if you want that on them. We weren’t meant to have pud but couldn’t resist churros with chocolate to dip in and ice cream with toffee sauce -definitely worth the calories! The valentines menu available this week (not just Thursday) is a very good buy at £30 for 2 or £40 with a bottle of wine ... might have waited a few days for that if we’d known! Will be back ..perhaps with a few friends as the big space lends itself to big parties.

In a few words: not value for money. The 'pasty' was dry, without discernible flavour and over priced. It was not helped by what they serve under the name of coffee. We will use anywhere but here in Keswick in future.

Disappointing visit. Meal was distinctly average and luke warm. Mains were small, in particular the burger, and average at best. All portions were not hot and it felt like they were pre prepared or done from frozen. Staff made us felt hurried and asked us prior to completing starters and mains if we were finished when we still had half plates. Ordered coffees after the meal and waited 20 mins to arrive, we did chase but we were told they were organising the quiz. Really disappointed as a local because the hotel used to served great food. Maybe just a bad experience but enough not to make us return.

We were staying in Keswick on the first of November 2024 to celebrate two 50th birthday’s. Keswick was extremely busy and four eating establishments we went to couldn’t accommodate our party of seven. However the Lake road inn had vacant tables which was great and now I understand why. It was 2.30pm and the kitchen was closing at 5.00pm so they explained the menu was limited (fair enough). After viewing the limited menu we decided it couldn’t accommodate our party so thought we would have a drink whilst booking another venue on line for an hours time. Ordered a Guinness then a glass of Malbec. No Malbec and then discovered a lot of the ales were unavailable too. We decided this just wasn’t for us and said to the bar it doesn’t matter and left. We were chased across the pub by a member of staff with a card reader to pay for the half Guinness that was settling (the first drink on my order) he said I had to pay as it was wastage? Like nothing ever gets spilt behind the bar??.I reluctantly paid for it and asked for an additional empty half glass in order to share it so we could quickly move on. We moved out side and found the empty half glass was dirty and the Guinness had a black hair in the head. We poured it down the drain. We love Keswick and the people are lovely, friendly and accommodating. So please don’t waste your money at the Lake Road Inn. There are so many better establishments than here!! Avoid!! As a party of seven there for food and drinks we would have spent £200+, so their loss!! We had a lovely meal at the Pack Horse Inn. Lamb burger special was tremendous!!! I highly recommend the Pack horse inn, the pheasant, or the George. I can only hope The lake Road Inn falls into administration and a decent proprietor takes it over. Harsh but fair.

Amazing find! Ate here last night after staying in Rosthwaite and having limited options as we had not booked anywhere in advance. We were greater by really friendly staff, a cosy informal atmosphere and a great menu. I am usually a bit dubious about pub fish and chippy, usually preferring to go to an actual chippy, but WOW! They were amazing! We were both really impressed. Great portions after a day walking in Borrowdale and so so tasty. Good range of beers on tap too.

Menu choice very good, portion sizes very good cooked well. Prices reasonable. Staff helpful and cheery. Had read a couple of bad reviews but then often there are those that look for issues. Will be back.
