Been here several times and will return - Workington has few eateries and was suprised and very pleased to find somewhere doing mexican, and that was open on a mid-week evening when the town is dead. Food is generally very good, tasty, fresh, with decent portions and a good selection at very reasonable prices. This is not a chain texmex restuarant, so don't expect the usual formula environment or menu - both of which are a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Being mid week it was quiet, but I could imagine a busy weekend would 'up' the atmosphere, and it would be fun to go with a group of friends.
This is a family run business, they work really hard and are to be admired for giving it a go - it's not perfect in all respects, but staff have always been really great, make you very welcome and want you to have a great time, lovely people who I will continue to support, and enjoy eating with.
We were disappointed by the whole experience. The food and service did not live up to the marketing hype. The pizzas were OK but nothing special. We visited on an icy day when the patio on the way into the restaurant was really slippy and our friends young daughter slipped and fell. The response from the waitress was totally unacceptable - she didn't apologise or ask if our friend's daughter was alright, she actually laughed and told us we should have read the signs (we didn't see any signs).
Probablemente el mejor plato de carne de cerdo que he comido en mis extensos viajes. El maravilloso personal y el servicio hicieron de esta comida una experiencia verdaderamente excepcional. Volveremos en 2020!
We visited this Greggs today for a couple of pasties and coffees. The manager was serving on her own , with a queue out of the door. She was fabulous, full of chat and humour, upselling and recommending the app. Great work.
Excellent customer service! Delicious food!
Food was ready on time and served piping hot. Helped carry food to the car. The dips were lovely and salad was super fresh.
It's a nice place to go for a drink and something to eat. Staff are mostly friendly, the food is always nicely prepared and presented.
The only problem I have ever encountered here was one of the 'regulars' being very loud, which no one from the staff tried to curtail.
My friend was quite nervous about this and we left early, which will definitely put them off of visiting there again.
I recently visited Bismillah Balti and was truly impressed! The restaurant has a comfortable, five-star hotel-like atmosphere, with sofas to relax while waiting for your order. The food is absolutely delicious—fresh, well-cooked, and served quickly. It’s also halal, perfect for Muslims looking for a halal meal. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal at an unbeatable price. 10/10!
Have visited this cafe previously and had no complaints and had a good experience. Unfortunately when we visited today it was disappointing. We both had the Sunday Roast dinner we have had before on other occasions but this time it was lukewarm even the gravy and it was not enjoyable. The roast potato was watery and looked insipid, the mash potato watery and lumpy. The peas served were out of a tin and the meat which was turkey was cold. The person who served us at the till was not engaging and since we paid £27.45 for the two dinners I feel it was poor value and would be reluctant to go again.
Alternative takeaway, yes please can someone take me to alternative place other then this.
Chilli sauce is just tomato paste, extra for salad, when it's just 90% lettuce base, and no kebab peppers.
Sorry but twice this has happened now, I have preordered my food online at 5.30, for delivery at 7.30pm and food never arrived until 8.40, , sorry not acceptable, will go elsewhere, not reliable
First time back since new management took over. Really busy and a great atmosphere We both had Roast Beef Sunday lunch, which was amazing! We thanked the new manager Lauren and congratulated her for turning the place around since taking over in October.
Will definitely be back, highly recommend
