Me and my granddaughter called in for lunch and both said the service was great, the food was good very hot very quickly brought to our table, we both said that we would be back

Excellent value good quality food. Particularly love the ramen bowl. Often visit when in Workington.

I'll say one thing for Workington wetherspoons, there's a lovely lad called bobby,he's an absolute delight, so polite and always makes you welcome. So I had to give 5 stars for his service alone, there other staff are also really nice,but bobby just goes that extra mile and makes me and my partner smile.

Me and girlfriend go to workington wetherspoons all the time most the staff are lovely but Bobby who works there is hands down the nicest member of staff always smiling and friendly he makes a massive difference to our time in the pub , a genuine lovely and approachable guy, he's definitely manager material ...a truly great guy 👍👍👍

Dry burger and a really small portion of chips

I have never known anywhere to give such poor customer service. Me and my friends were disgusted at the lack of care. We asked a simple question, if their chips were gluten free, I was asked to check the digital board on the wall, which was actually switched off. Someone eventually came and turned it on, I could not see the gf option and asked for help, to which I got told 'we can't help you on the board'. When we eventually found gf, it mentioned burgers, but not if their buns where gf, so I asked the staff, who did not know! I thought well I'll just get the chips for ease. I went over to the bar and asked about the chips, the response was 'we can't say', therefore I asked if they'd mind going and asking their chef if he has a separate fryer for his chips, again, 'no we can't'. The manager came over and asked what she could help with, I said we just want to know if you can ask the chef if he has a separate fryer for his chips as my daughter has coeliac disease. She said we can't say! It was an absolute joke that they were unwilling to ask a simple question to the chef, instead they allowed my child to feel bad, all her friends at this point were getting their food and she sat there feeling sad that she was a burden to everyone, which is certainly not what should have happened. I ended up taking her for food elsewhere who's staff couldn't of been anymore supportive of her needs. Shame on you Wetherspoons for your discriminate actions and lack of concern. Absolutely disgusting!

The state of this place continues its sad decline. Standards have dropped significantly since my last visit a couple of months ago. The men's toilets are an absolute disgrace. There's one serviceable cubicle- but the toilet bowl is hanging off the wall and the door lock has been bodged up so many times it barely provides the necessary privacy. The stench from the urinals is so bad - you can tell when the toilet door opens as it wafts into the pub. Not really what you want to be smelling when you're eating and drinking- it's bad enough when you have to go to the toilet . The staff are great but completely up against it as there are so few of them. Dirty glasses pile up on tables untouched. This place is desperate for a makeover. I for one won't be rushing back. I know the beer is cheap but, I'm afraid I'd rather pay "proper pub" prices and have a degree of comfort rather than sit in a what effective looks and smells like a cattle market. Come on 'Spoons. You can do much much better than this.

Well the food was pretty good cod and chips very nice but that's about it . severed 2 pints of Stella smelt and tasted like white spirit disgusting was offered replacement JD and coke received this only to find no syrup in coke tasked awful again this time did not complain just left establishment even below Witherspoon standards says it all really.

As Wetherspoons go, this is one of the better ones I think. Food, drink, service - all good enough. Floors are less sticky that other branches 😂👍

Called in by chance and found that Tuesday evening was a 'Steak Night'. When I looked at the prices I thought the food would be rubbish, but to our amazement we found the food and the service to be first class. I can honestly say that was the best value for money that we've had in a restaurant for quite some time. Well done to management and staff for looking after us, can't wait to go back.

We gave this a try for dinner before a concert at Carnegie. It's clean, really good value and very friendly, the atmosphere in here is amazing. Although it was the first time we went, everyone, staff and customers were friendly, and we felt welcomed. The food is great and such great value, it was Curry night so we gave it a try and it was awesome.

Exactly what you would expect from a Wetherspoons... microwaved food, 'interesting clientele' and cheap.

Needs a refurbishment ain't changed since it opened but for bargain priced and OK food you cannot beat it... It still needs a refurbish and food portions were much smaller but for the money it's still OK..

Ladies toilets blocked and a few full of sick.. service after ordering drinks via the app was approx 20-30 mins wait.. alright for cheap and cheerful food and drinks

Ordered boneless basket, took a bite of the chicken and chips and was lukewarm, sent the food back and all they done was reheat the food as my half eaten chicken was still in the basket. Food ended up being very dry with reheating it. Even had to ask for coleslaw which was suppose to come with the meal.

Bit crammed In tables to close makes it a nightmare to get a wheel chair to the bar

Whenever we go on holiday, we usually end up eating in a local 'Spoons' - food is reasonably priced and varied menu for everyone, though I usually opt for the veggie burger. I am also interested in which local heritage figure each Wetherspoons is named after and the buildings that have been converted, and really liked this one.

Not enough staff. Only thing that let's it down.

Been here for 2 hours watching a 4/5 year old sitting on a bar stool playing on a gambling slot machine while his father feeds the machine and drinking. Pretty sure there's a law somewhere

Another good Wetherspoons experience! Good service, friendly staff and wetherspoons standard of food - which is Ten times as good as other chains and a lot more reasonably priced. The venue is a lovely old cinema and Wetherspoons does a remarkable job of saving these historical buildings that local councils would allow to become derelict. Ten points for spoons for providing a community service and facility that government completely fails at.

Get what you pay for cheap food/drink, mostly friendly staff and good service. However the heating situation really needs sorting, on the few occasions I have been in it's always bloody so cold and they say the heatings broke every other day of the week.

Food ok but it's very cold!!! Seem not to have any heating on!

Nice and quiet during the week day

Staff is so disinterested and bored. Took a while to get bartenders attention and then no engagement. It wasn't busy when I visited, and to be fair, if I was ever in the area again, I wouldn't visit, even of the thought of a cheap drink

You get what you pay for, cheap food and drink. Good atmosphere but service is lacking. Plates sometimes dirty underneath, tables sometimes not clean so you need to ask for it to be wiped, basically the place is under staffed and the staff they have are overworked,

Never known it as cold in here everyone sitting with coats on and some even sitting with their hoods up , actually think it’s warmer outside . Waste of time asking for the heating put on because all they say is we’ll ask the manager and then get totally ignored , the only good thing the drink don’t have a chance to get warm

Lovely hotel with friendly staff

Went for a meal with family, it was so dirty 🤢 tables not cleaned, the knife and forks were dirty, the glass where not clean and dirty. I don't know how this place is still open, went right down hill. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. 😐 🤢🤮

Fair size building. It was a cinema in a former life. Its been fitted out very nice and it still retains a lot of its former glory. It was quiet when we went in but pleasant enough. As usual with Wetherspoons Great prices

Was ignored at bar, by bar person. As person served multiple people who arrived after me. Bar was not busy. Never seen her before, so no idea what her issue was.

We had our main courses, they were fine. We ordered sweets, chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream. Both came without the chocolate sauce. Eating elsewhere as they did this to us in other Spoons.

Not a great wetherspoons even by their standards. It's not the staffs fault I'm talking about. The place is neglected.

asked for well done steak came out burnt to a crisp with a tiny portion of mash. the plate looked depressing paid £12.29 for my plate to be half empty. very disappointed.

We came in knowing we would get typical food for the establishment but seriously asked for my steak medium rare… what came was a burning hot plate with freezing cold food….steak was cremated to shoe leather. Mash cold as was everything else and the pepper sauce well it was a lumpy, powdery cold gloop… sent plate back to be told the bar manageress was cooking my food herself and I am thinking where is the chef??? Second plate not much better…. I felt sorry for the embarrassed waiter…. Could do so much better…. I had a bad stomach the next day def food not at the right temperature and yet they display a 5 star on the door…..really!!!!

Very busy when i arrived but i was served quickly and my order was delivered correctly, hot and well presented.. exactly the level of service i have come to expect from a Wetherspoons regardless of location.

The site of an old theatre, cinema and a number of nightclubs, the breakfast here just hit the spot! Excellent variety as per normal from a Wetherspoons!

The food was discusting it was COLD, sauce had powder lumps in it, steak was dry & tastless.I set it back.a second meal arrived there was not much change to yge original meal.i dont expect resturant standard food but food at a safe temp.

Wentvfor food at lunch time today. It wasnt particulary packed. But have to say the food was discusting. My partner had the 8oz steak with mash and a peppercorn sauce, when it arrived we were told to be careful as the plate was hot, it was just warm, but the food on it was COLD, The sauce had powder lumps in it, we asked for the steak to be medium rare, it was dry and tastless. I took the plate back the staff member i spoke to was very apologetic and took it away to be replaced. He came to our table a few moments later to inform us that the manager was going to cook the replacement meal. When that arrived there was not much change to what had originally been served. I ordered the large mixed grill which arrived luke warm, it consisted of 10 chips, dried out peas, burnt but cold tomato, the meat was dry and tastless. I do not expect resturant standard food from a weatherspoons, but certainly food served hot and at a safe temp.

Staff not great food was fantastic

Cant give 0 stars but thats what this experience was. Will not be returning ... shocking customer service and treatment I experienced as a customer. Bar man was rude and on some form of power trip.

Food has definitely had an uplift in quality in recent times, assuming there is new kitchen staff, service is usually fairly quick, even when busy. Great place to have a laidback drink out

Lovely place never any issues with food.

We visited for a lunch on a Saturday afternoon, the meal was fine, as you know the standard to expect. Service adequate. Probably need to have a sign at the bar regarding the queue system, as some customers went right to middle of bar, only to be told to join the line.

Visited for food and drinks before gig at Carnegie Theatre. Based in former cinema. Saturday afternoon and very busy. A bit of a weave around the closely positioned tables to get to the bar. The bar service was very good and we ordered food later which was good and served quickly especially considering how busy the pub was.

Had a lovely time in here on Saturday. I'm coeliac and a young lady was very helpful explaining the allergy menu to me. Enjoyed steak and chips. We went back Sunday morning and had a cooked breakfast. Sadly that was cold so we didn't enjoy that.

The worst restaurant in the world.I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza and it tastet like lightning.

Called in for a early bite to eat about 17.30 absolutely heaving took a while to get a seat still a nice place and service was good staff spot on.
