Excellent sushi the chips were charcoaled beautifully haven't had any as nice since I went to that chippy opposite the spoons about 4 years ago

Best sushi I've ever tasted even better then most sushi themed places I've been too, the charcoaled chips on the side were honestly to die for compliments to the chef

Went for lunch. They have a BIG menu with friendly service and top class food. Will go again.

Called for a drink today sat 17th May Mens toilets .wallpaper hanging halfway off the wall .not very nice . Wife said ladies toilets were locked .so she waited for someone to come out .no one came out so she went to the bar and told them ..sorry there out of order they said ..you've got to use the disabled they said .it's not rocket science to put a notice on the door saying out of order .use the disabled. Brain dead some people.

Great local pub, run by young guys and girls who are really super friendly and helpful. Located just off the Keswick - Thelkeld railway path. We ate here twice and both times, the food was great, came piping hot fresh, good value and large portions . They welcome dogs inside and out and provided water in bowls. Really would recommend a visit if staying nearby .

We checked in slightly later than the stated time on our booking due to running late with the cleaning. This was not an issue, we sat and had a drink outside. The bar lady was very polite and bubbly. A miniature bottle of wine was in the room , complimentary for my Husbands 60th birthday, lovely touch.After being shown to our room. Room 3. Oh dear, 1st impressions were not good. Wallpaper peeling away from the walls, black mouldy net curtain at the window with holes in it. The mould continued in to the bathroom along with a dripping tap and dirty extractor fan.The noise from the generator below the window was intruding of any relaxation or quality sleep intended on our stay. The net curtain disguised an unclean outside area. We were informed no food today, this was not shared prior to arriving. The only good thing from this is we were only stopping one night. 🙏. Marstons you need to clean your act up along with your rooms. £80 for a mouldy room is unacceptable.

It was easy to find. Communication before was clear and the website clearly stated it was above a pub and that there would be noise so no surprises there. The room was spacious and much nicer than I expected which was lovely. The check in process was quick and fuss free. Anything we asked for or needed to know was provided with a warm and obliging attitude. The food was fantastic! We had supper and then the Sunday roast lunch which was delicious and generous. I really enjoyed it and would definitely return. Well done!

My daughter has a milk allergy, we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience, being told to go and check an app which we didnt have before we ordered.Older lady on the till was rude and just handed us off to another staff member. People were swearing and shouting in the bar area at 6.30 with children. You don't expect this. We won't be returning

I would suggest that Nicci (manager), takes a hospitality course and looks after her good paying customers, her rudeness is very obvious unless you are a local!! Pub and b and b could do with a clean and bit of fresh paint. Been to a lot of hotels, B and B and have never ever been spoken to like this person. Plz note, I wrote this review some yrs ago, the manageress has now left and the pub has some great reviews, wishing you all the best for the future!

On a sunny day it's worth the 5 minute walk out of the centre of keswick to get a seat in the sun.

Booked for 12 people. Was given an 8 seat table. Food was terrible. Service was worse. Poured Guinness in a Cider Glass multiple times.

Just as you're leaving Keswick and heading for Ambleside, the pub is on your right. About 5-10 mins walk from the town centre. Car parking available. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Standard Marston's menu. Well presented food Would I go back? Yes, even just for a drink.

My friend and I came for Sunday roast today, I had the beef and she had the turkey. I have to say it was the best roast dinner I’ve had in a long time. The beef was perfect, melted in your mouth, the gravy was delicious and the Yorkshire puddings were the bad boys of all Yorkshire puddings!! Lovely plentiful vegetables with a tasty cheese sauce over the cauliflower. We will definitely be returning and recommending. Also good service from the staff, friendly and attentive. Thanks again 🥰

Fantastic Mother's Day Lunch; went as a family of 10 and staff could have been more helpful. Food arrived fresh, hot, plentiful and tasty. We felt very looked after and with three mums in our group we were all made to feel very special; thank you all for an amazing day. We will Be back!!

We booked for a last minute valentines night get away. I cant sing the praises of this little pub / hotel staff enough. Check in was friendly and welcoming. we had a drink in the bar which turned into an evening meal to beat the business expected later on. the food was really good, well priced and the beer was excellent. the staff were warm pleasant, chatty and friendly. the room was very spacious, clean and tidy. Exceptionally well priced the only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the bathroom needed updating and I know this may put some people off. (It was fine for us) Parking was easy, checkout too. All in all, a 10 out of 10 but the staff make it and the live singer was decent too!!! Thanks everyone for a amazing night :)

Lovely community pub. We were visiting from Newcastle , we had drinks and stayed the night. We love how everyone knows each other and made us feel welcome. Great drinks and excellent menu. Staff were lovely and friendly as always.

What a wonderful, small, humble and cozy place.. we were received so well.. food was delicious, people running the pub were super friendly, dogs welcome.. lovely! Will certainly come back! If you are looking for a fancy place full of people that want you in and out as quickly as possible this is certainly not the place for you, but if you want a place you will be looked after and want to eat nice food go right in :)

We booked online and everything was extremely easy. We arrived and the table was set with crackers which felt like a nice touch. Everyone's food arrived at the same time for each course and it was really tasty. Couldn't fault any of it. The staff were lovely and attentive. Would highly recommend.

We visited for a Sunday lunch when staying in the local area. Despite initially being told there were no tables available when trying to book online, they managed to squeeze us in. The food was very good, reasonably priced and decent portion sizes. The staff were friendly too. The only downside I would say was the online booking system, where you had to wait for a while for the confirmation on booking. I’d definitely go back.

Friendly staff and great value food. Steak pie was very tasty. Thursday steak deal was proving popular. Pub got very busy so best to book a table.

We just wanted a couple of nights away to take our dog and go walking. We didn’t want anything fancy or expensive. We booked this a couple of weeks beforehand. We found the staff friendly and we were left to come and go as we wanted. It was just what we wanted.

In dire need of an update. One member of front of house staff that was working her backside off. Football on the t.v. way too loud. Food prices seemed good. But starters were so small it made us laugh. Mains were nice enough tho. Toilets not great. Which makes you wonder what behind the scenes are like. Shame because of its great location.

Allergens are clear to see and the online facility for sorting this through the menu is great. From light bites, lunch deals and full ‘pub grub’ options & a pint of Stella and Guinness from the well stocked bar with many different drink options. Glasses were clean & pints well poured tasting great & showing the cellar systems are well maintained. My partner was thrilled to received a “ properly settled” Guinness not the usual rush job most places throw across the bar at you. The burgers arrived after no wait at all and were freshly cooked, juicy and tasty. Fair to say we didn’t leave a crumb. If you’re considering calling into visit wether day tripping or a local. Please do. You will be thrilled with the service, food, drinks and great outdoor seating opportunities (a Keswick rarity) The pub is clearly a labour of love, cared for and the people front of house and behind the scenes are all passionate about making this place a success. We had a booking for 16 people for lunch on sat 31st august,all the meals were fab ,everyone enjoyed there meal +drinks ,lovely staff service was excellent ,would highly recomend the pub to people for food +drinks .

Absolutely amazing. Got there a tad early but was let in out of the rain. Staff very friendly and helpful. Service and food incredible. I had jacket potato with beans and the salad was the best I have ever tasted so fresh.

Visited as a group of 8 on a wet and cold bank holiday. Atmosphere couldn't have been better; football on TV at just the right volume so we could still hold a conversation Staff were all amazing and couldn't do enough to help; an absolute credit to the establishment And the Sunday dinner; Wow!! Better than grannies and that's saying something- absolute perfection We will be back and it is now our go to place!!

Arrived as a party of 6 on a busy Friday lunch time; met by a lovely older lady and made very welcoming; they even fussed over our pup. Our drinks were served fast, with help from a charming young girl and we ordered lunch. Even though they were busy the food came out really hot and fresh. The fish and chips (whale & chips) were amazing; a fraction of the cost of what my mum paid in down the day before and far better quality. Mum had the steak which she said was cooked perfectly and we were all very happy. So happy we even had desserts. Thank you everyone it really was a perfect end to our holiday and we can’t wait to visit again

The Twa Dogs inn is a fantastic pub located on the outskirts of Keswick; though primarily a locals pub it is extremely welcoming to all; with all the staff being extremely helpful; kind and chatty. The meal choice is varied; with excellent service and the food quality is fantastic we opted for a steak on our latest visit and it was cooked to perfection; arriving hot and fast. The manager always greets us with a smile and ensures we are well looked after. I recommend this pub to everyone and I can see why it is a Great British Pub of the Year nominee

Great place to stay . Very friendly staff . The room is clean with own toilet and shower. TV. Tea and coffee with biscuits. Pub food was very good . 10 minute walk into Keswick. And great starting point for skiddaw. We really liked it here . Would come again 👍

Great service, great beer, great food.

Very disappointing ! Arrived at 12.30 on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We were told immediately that there was no mac n cheese, which was fine, but then to be told they had no baguettes ( after I’d already paid ) and would I mind having my Philly cheese steak baguette in a nice big bun alarm bells start ringing. How can you have no baguettes on a Saturday at 12.30 ? Anyway I agreed, but it was served in a small brioche bun with tasteless cheese sauce and very tough over done steak. My wife ordered the club sandwich which was very dry and not presented very well. The only positive was the chips. Definitely won’t go back.

Enticed by the signs promising home cooked food. Entered the pub at 18:05 and approached the bar to order at 18:10, I couldn’t believe it when I was told that they stopped serving food at 18:00, on a Saturday night at a tourist location. Absolutely bonkers.

We come here alot and can never fault anything. It's the best pub in town for food, service and everyone is always so friendly. The manager and all staff can't do enough for you, I would highly recommend.

If you are wanting great food, friendly staff, a good laugh, brilliant beer garden and an all around a good night, then Twa Dogs is the place to go! You won’t get better!! From Bingo to live music, they offer it all and never disappoint! Chris, Emma and Team you’re doing an amazing job!

Food awful, customer service even worse, calling their customers liars. We had a table booked for 6.30pm. Ordered our drinks at the bar at 6.45pm then ordered our food straight after. At 7.30pm we asked at the bar how long our food will be as we hadn’t received our starters yet, the staff member behind the bar replied you only ordered 10 minutes ago and checked the time which our food order went through on the system and it was saying only 10 minutes ago. There was clearly a delay in their system as we had ordered 45 minutes ago. The staff member then replied saying “cancel your food”. This shows the lack of customer respect and confirms they had not started making our meal yet. Our starters finally arrived after being in the pub for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Our main meal then arrived 2 hours after arriving at the pub. The starters were really nice, however the mains were awful. There was lots of flies around the food also. We then asked the bar staff for a discount off the food as we had waited 2 hours. The bar staff went and got another staff member ?supervisor. The supervisor said we were “rude and abusive” to the staff earlier when asking how long our food will be which is complete lies. We said we have never received an apology for the delay in food to which the supervisor replied “we sent a member of staff to your table to apologise for the delay” which did not happen, again another lie. They did not give us any money off and we paid the full amount. Do not come here unless you want rubbish food, awful customer service and being called rude, abusive and a liar.

We've been a few times since Chris took over 12 months ago. Food is always perfect. It's nicely set to one side so it's not wall to wall all the time. Staff are amazing. Obviously dog friendly with water bowls everywhere. The best was the beer, cask and keg served at the right temperature with great choices. Highly recommended.

Food was fine, nothing amazing and a bit overpriced for what it was. For a property in Keswick it's definitely Keswick prices but not comparable on quality compared to many other restaurants there. The drinks pumps didn't work properly, so our fizzy drinks were flat. There was no baby changing also, so we had to change our baby on the sofa we were sitting on. Polite and kind service regardless.

Been going to Keswick for the last 30 years and have always popped into Twa Dogs this year new owners, they were very welcoming place looked great and menu had plenty of variety we also took part in first quiz night which was well organized and great question will definitely be popping in again 👍👍

Booked a table for 8, unfortunately we had a total of four drop out one by one.. the hosts of TWA DOGS couldn't have been any nicer, Really enjoyed my meal after a long hike.. easy 5 stars for every aspect of my visit.

Always a pleasure eating in the Dogs. The bar staff are friendly and welcoming. I had Cumberland sausage roast dinner with veg. Was beautiful! 🙂. Highly recommended

Really great food and service. Had a late Christmas party here with a big group and were treated so well. They even put out Christmas crackers for us in February! Three course meal was very well priced for the quality- really enjoyed ourselves.

We had our daughters 21st birthday here and everything was excellent from food staff politeness nothing was to much for them.Even let us come in the after to decoratrate their pub.We had a fantastic night and was enjoyed by everyone Thank you Chris and your team 😀

Have stayed here twice now and both times have been excellent. Clean and comfortable accomodation, plus dog friendly 🐕. Cosy bar area with pool table and the food looks good - we will definitely eat here next time. Easy to get to from the M6 and only a 10 minute walk along the river into town. 5 stars

This "pub with rooms" feels like its on the verge of a new beginning. The room we stayed in was immaculately clean & we and our dogs were given a warm welcome. We didn't get to eat here as were meeting family in town but the pub/restaurant looked nice and the staff were friendly. Its a 10 minute walk to Keswick centre the direct road is busy but if you turn left past the spar you can go through the housing estate which is an bit of a more relaxing walk. The rooms are clean and basic but have all essentials, ensuite, TV, etc. The only issue we had was the bed was a tad on the hard side for us.

Sunday lunch was absolutely amazing, struggled to get a table it was so busy; but the staff in the bar were amazing and managed to get us a nice table near the TV. Dinner was amazing I had the beef and my wife had Turkey, cooked perfectly with more veg than I’ve ever seen on a restaurant Sunday dinner and the gravy….. just wow!! I’m recipe ding this place to all my friends and when we are back in the area we will be booking straight back for another Roast

Visited for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the meal I had lamb and really tasty and tender, large selection of vegetables and good sized portions. Staff all excellent and very attentive chef even asked how we enjoyed the meal. I would highly recommend the establishment and excellent for sport.

Excellent food as usual, had the steak night Thursday and went back again for Sunday lunch. Had roast lamb today, beautifully cooked, meat in your mouth meat, plenty of veg and a great big home made Yorkshire pud. Excellent staff, joy always goes above and beyond, all the staff are great. Will be back next week, without a doubt.

Had such a fab time here whilst on holiday in Keswick... The landlord was amazing as were all the staff, special mention to Joy who was literally her name personified.... Great food (my steak was perfectly cooked!!) and a great atmosphere.... Highly recommend to anyone visiting Keswick and we will see you all next time we visit Keswick 😘

Brilliant meal tonight. We booked for 13 of us, on a family holiday. When ordering at the bar we were told by the staff there was quite a wait for food as the poor chef was alone in the kitchen and had other staff off...

disgraceful place to stay falsely advertised rooms not as per pics outdated and extremely basic no breakfast even though advertised staff unhelpful and couldn’t care less never paid so much for such a bad place defiantly one to avoid !!!!!!!

Best Sunday lunch I’ve ever had!! 6 different veggies, loads of melt in the mouth meat. We had the choice of Beef, Lamb or Cumberland Sausage; we opted for the lamb and it was amazing; barely any fat. Recommend to anyone in the area!

Best Sunday roast I had in Keswick in quite awhile. With a change in management the Twa Dogs has a pleasant ambiance, friendly staff, and a great roast beef at a reasonable price.

Finally found a great vegetarian Sunday lunch!! Nicely prepared and presented, good selection of veg, and homemade Yorkshire puddings, and a meat alternative. Great portion size and excellent value. Couldn’t fault it. The staff are friendly and attentive too, would highly recommend.

I live in Keswick and went for lunch which was excellent we chose baguette and chips from the extensive menu which was good value we were served by joy who has excellent customer service skills
