What a unique lovely restaurant. We have just returned from having an excellent Sunday roast. Properly home cooked food, generous portions, and the most efficient friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble.
The prices are amazing value for money,we will definitely be booking again, thank you for a lovely afternoon.
We arrived with friends that had recommended The Whalley Wine Bar (and Wine shop).
We started with visiting the wine shop, after browsing the wines through the store we got chatting to a few, very knowledgeable chaps that really knew their stuff. Lots of recommendations to sample different wines. We earmarked a few wines, but then left to get a bite to eat next door in the wine bar, to then return and make our purchases.
The wine bar, on a Saturday was extremely busy (no surprise), however we were made to feel welcome and although we hadn't reserved a table, the waitress managed to make us some space with a 30 minute limit, she then managed to move bookings around, giving us a lot longer (a nice touch). From here we ordered some delicious bites to go with the wine, (Mine being a Chablis and Pate).
The atmosphere was truly amazing and the service very good.
We then returned to the wine shop to purchase our wines, which again, really made to feel welcome even though the shop at this point was a lot busier.
All in all, a very lovely experience from both sides of this business.
We live over an hour away but we're already planning our return, trust me, it's worth the drive.
Jay's Bistro has become my regular local café over the last few years. The food is always good, and I've had some wonderful meals there. Everyone at Jay's are really friendly and they obviously care about their customers. It's a really warm and friendly environment and they have always catered for my awkward dietary needs. They are dog friendly so make a nice place to pop in during a dog walk. During the warmer months (or the colder months if you're hardy) there is a lovely outdoor area at the back. There's a really positive community feel to this café and I fully recommend it.
We were visiting friends and we went here for breakfast. What a lovely place, the attention to detail was fantastic, the service was 1st class and the food, plentiful, delicious and beautiful quality. Highly recommend and we will be returning to try the evening tapas on our next visit for sure. Thank you.

A well deserved entry in the Good Beer Guide - the six cask ales are all brewed less than half a mile away in Carnforth and the two I tried were in perfect condition.
Helpful, friendly service is always a bonus and this pub oozes it. Well worth the 10 minute walk eastbound from the 🚂 station.
