The Monkey Express in Bolton

I have ordered from Monkey express quite a lot in the past and it was one of my favourite takeaways but after my current experience I will not be ordering from them again. Their new method of ordering through their website is awful and the staff are rude. I used to order through deliveroo and just eat and the staff were nice and polite. My current order which is still a mystery as to what is happening with it has not been confirmed, I ordered over an hour ago. I called up about 20 minutes ago and the guy who answered the phone was very aggressive and hung up as I was asking about it and said he hadn't received the order which was placed 40 minutes prior to me calling. Honestly I feel like they have good food and could be a really good takeaway and I have recommended them to a lot of my friends and family who have enjoyed it but now they will not be getting any more orders from me or anyone I know and I will definitely not be recommending them to anyone.

Great food for the price, seriously. Huge variety of options for food and staff are very kind. Service is quite quick too even if they're busy.

Ordered at 9pm to have food cancelled at 10pm payment took, bad idea to order from here as you cant even get a phone call to say its been cancelled, thanks !!

The best place to eat in the world, the most amazing sauce and chicken in history, the taste can not be duplicated. Kindest people who run the restaurant, so sweet and good people who know how to cook like no body in this world. The Caribbean chicken is my favourite, I would eat it every day if I could (I do try lol) The burritos are like no other.

Caribbean chicken at this place is unbeatable! Only thing which can be improved is giving the food in a china plate when eating in instead of a takeaway bos.

Great fresh food, i go for the Caribbean special with rice n salad....beautiful juicy chicken thighs grilled , great portion size, go for a large and get 2 portions of chicken. A favorite is the halloumi special, salad and chips...cheat day..😁 drivers are always on point and ive honestly never had a bad meal. 10/10 for the chefs .

Amazing service, food was banging had ordered a 12 pizza and two classic chicken burger meals and two portion of chicken nuggets. It was delicious!!

Amazing kebabs! However the staff are incredibly incredibly rude and pretty poor at their job. Hang up if called from a withheld number (my phone automatically does this). Called from an unblocked number and placed half my order before he then hung up again!! When we went in to collect the food he tried to give me a bottle of pop instead of my change. He did this three times before eventually parting with my change! Food is spot on but will never go there again due to the poor service!

Great little eatery, can’t fault the food it’s delicious, I enjoy the meal boxes with meat, chips rice and salad and special sauce. The rice is like a Caribbean style and is very good. Give this place a go!

Went for a "zinger burger". Wasn't so keen on the burger, tasted like a from frozen fillet and just didn't have a fresh texture. Disappointed that they're charging 8.99 for the burger alone on Uber. Wouldn't have it again for sure.

Ordered jerk chicken rice chips and salad I’ve never seen anything like it in my life definitely not jerk chicken hahaha it’s actually comical that they think they can pass this as jerk chicken chips rice and salad was ok but big disappointment it’s just cut up chicken breast 😂

Tasty food and friendly staff, go here regularly as it’s open at lunch and easily accessible when you need something quick. Can order on Uber eats or just eat.

Only tried the halloumi wrap, halloumi Burrito and Pizza from here. Not a big fan of the Pizza but the halloumi wrap and halloumi Burrito are on point. Big plus is they take card payments too.

When I ordered here I said no spice and the food was to spicy for me

I don't usually enjoy doner kebabs but I have to say the one I got from here was the best id ever had. The sauce they put on the meat tasted amazing and the meat wasn't dry at all. Our order only came to about 15 pounds and the portions were massive. Definitely going here again. 10/10.

I have been here a number of times and each time I visit I order jerk chicken and rice. The quality of food is always to a high standard and the staff are friendly. Also the portions are massive, after a medium jerk chicken and rice you’ll be set for the rest of the day.

First time here everything smells delish. Ordered zinger burger which was beautifully cooked tender chicken and amazing flavourful thick crunchy coating. I wish I was still eating it.

I've actually been twice for some reason. First time found no chicken in my chicken wrap. Second time got a tray of donor meat which was both burnt and raw in the same tray. No ever trying again

It took 1hr and 10 mins food was cold and chips were awful wouldn't mind but wasted 24 pound drivers excuse his car broke and they sent a new driver this is twice in a row and won't be ordering again as it used to be so nice not anymore

Staff are the friendliest people ever and food is consistently good, chicken and rice is quick and healthy, definitely an essential to try if from out of town.

Food is made fresh and tastes amazing. I've tried half of the menu and everything is spot on. Customer service is amazing from Zara and one of the chefs. They are always recommending me stuff to try. I go three times a week and enjoy every bite. Thank you Monkey Express

Chicken and donner meat is not fresh

Where to start! EXCELLENT customer service! Good portion sizes and BRILLIANTLY flavourful! And normally my biggest grumble with take aways is the grumpy delivery driver how ever even he was friendly with good manners and top customer service!! 5 stars doesn't do it justice, will definitely be ordering from here again!

The Food is amazing, good portions, great flavours and good service... Surprisingly cheap, and the only thing that lets it down is the shop is a little scruffy. Although I take my hats off to the guy, seen worse meals from 'better' restaurants...
