Staff are so friendly only got Rita’s name but everyone makes an effort! The food is so fresh served piping hot, never a soggy chip or batter, always fresh and crispy 😋

Tried to get a portion of chips from the premises,prior to the festive period.only to be ignored,as it was a few minutes past 9pm. Not a good first impression to say the least.

Really disappointed... we set off from st helens to go to Bolton as my partners terminally ill mother lives there she requested fish and chips so we looked and this place according to the Google in formation was open on Sundays 11am till 2pm only for us to travel via Westhoughton to find it shut ... please update your Google opening and closing times so others don't have the disappointment

What a nice chippy, we got quite a big order and we managed to eat it all, cooked perfect, fantastic costumer service, definitely we will visit again.

Been to this chippy a couple of times now from a recommendation, can say it honestly lived up to its name. I had cheese burger on one occasion and chicken kebab on another occasion. Both times the food was amazing and delicious but must say the cheeseburger was one of the best cheeseburger ever, so tasty and tender. Great portions and very reasonably priced. Recommend without hesitate and definitely worth a try.

This has got to be the best Chippy in Westhoughton. I have going to this chippy for a few years now. Extensive Menu, Exellent food, and very clean. The staff are so polite and helpful. And l mean Helpful. In August 2020 l was diagnosed with Cancer and when l became to ill to go to the chippy, the owners offered to deliver my order without a delivery charge. They are still delivering around three times a week. That's what l call helpful, that's what l call above and beyond. To everyone at Wingates Chippy. Thankyou for your continued support. Been a regular customer of wingates chippy for a while and this fish and chip shop is by far the best chippy in westhoughton, the food and service is second to non, it is a great family run buisness and it rightly so deserved to be awarded top 5 chippies in bolton area and only one out of westhoughton to be mentioned.

Shocking service too much talking and not enough force on customers who are waiting patently to place their order.

It has gone down hill recently.
