The Whalley Wine Bar in Ribble Valley

A very tastefully decorated wine bar with some seating outside. We just had drinks so cannot comment on the food. We were warmly greated when we walked in and was offered tables inside or outside. A large wine menu, as expected. Would definitely like to try the food next time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with friends for lunch. The atmosphere was excellent, great food ( good options for Gluten Free as well), the young lady who served us was brilliant, friendly and efficient, she even remembered our orders without writing anything down. As you would expect a great range of wines, reasonably priced.

Popped in for a drink on a short break. What a friendly and professional atmosphere. Particularly impressed by the management and the extremely nice young man who served us, just finished a business degree and I’m sure will go far with the attitude and manners he showed us. Thanks ☺️

We love Whalley wine bar - its always so busy so last weekend was the first time we have managed to get a table inside. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. such a great wine list also. 5 stars

A great experience and very knowledgeable staff!

Our new favourite “go to” place in Lancashire!! After 15 years of loyalty to the Waddy Arms, including having our wedding there, we thought we’d follow the maestro and have a noisy at his new place of gainful employment. We turned up at the allotted time, accompanied by the hound who comes everywhere with us, to find we’d a table set aside by Andrew which was handy in a busy day. The place itself is fabulous. Great wine list, awesome decor and extremely friendly staff who you can tell enjoy their time at the office. Having known Andrew for many years, he advised us on some new wines to try and we loved them all. A lot of them…… We ended up staying far longer than planned and can’t recall what exactly we drank in the end so apologies to staff that i doubtless repeated the same crap jokes to. We had a hotel booked nearby with dinner included but will eat at the wine bar next time as the platters looked like the comestible equivalent of Audrey Hepburn. All in all a great visit and well worth our 206 mile round trip we do so often.

My husband decided we should have a drive over and try it here. We had such a lovely time, the decor is chic, service friendly and prompt. We now need to book a night away to spend a whole evening there!

Interesting and wide ranging wine list with a good selection by the glass including some special "coravin" wines. Very good selection of food. The Delice de Bourgogne is definitely worth having. We had a sharing platter for two which was good value. Very friendly place! Definitely worth visiting.

Andrew and Zofia served us, and they were both fantastic. So friendly and kind, made us feel completely at home - such a fantastic evening spent at this bar, and two employees that are a credit to the bar.

Such a welcoming and helpful place to visit. Staff know their wines and more than happy to recommend ones to your preferences. Great atmosphere, I'd recommend booking in advance to get a seat as its very popular.

Having been before and having great service, a second visit with the same exceptional service shows it wasn't a one-off. Tom, Andrew et al couldn't do anything more for you, from attentive service to reconmendations to your tastes. A very busy place though so booking in advance is recommended.

Always a pleasure visiting the wine bar! Very attentive, chatty and knowledgeable staff which is priceless! A large range of wine to chose from and a nice cheeseboards and nibbles to go along side your wine too. I'd definitely recommend booking, if you want to sit inside. Outside is on a first come, first serve basis.

We had a fantastic night at the Whalley Wine Bar, having been recommended it by friends. The people working their were knowledgeable and very generous with their time. We sampled lots of different wines, opting for some we wouldn’t usually drink. The atmosphere was great, really vibrant with a real mix of people. The highlight for us was our time in the vault, it’s a real gem, surrounded by wine with staff popping in and out grabbing wines for other people. We had a good chat with Andrew who was a delightful host with a wicked sense of humour. We will visit again when in the area and will be recommending far and wide.

Just popped in in the afternoon to meet a friend for a beer. Stocks gluten free Damm beer on top of a very long menu of beers, wines and spirits. Warm welcome, even though we hadn't booked they had a table outside for us. Great service (at table). This would be a great place for an afternoon or evening of drinks with friends. There are platters of food in the menu - we didn't eat , but it looks good

Fantastic wine bar with a buzzy atmosphere, wonderfully knowledgeable and friendly staff, and top notch wine list. They also do nibbles and cheeseboards and are doggo friendly too...what's not to love! We're local to Whalley Wine Bar and so are able to pop by regularly. It's one of our favourite spots, so much so that we had our engagement party here last year! Highly recommend if you've not been.

We have always loved this place and it has been massively enhanced with the arrival of Andrew! Such a great character and always makes our experience special! If you are lucky enough to get a table (either inside or out!) you are in for a treat! Really reasonable prices and amazing choice. Bravo!

Destination drive from Lancaster for a change of scenery and well worth the drive!!! Excellent range and service!! Very professional and welcoming! Dog friendly too!!! Excellent small plates with real quality choice. Will be back

We live nearby and pop in now and again for a glass or two. It’s a nice place if you like your wine! We tried the picky food last time & it’s delish! Only downside is it does get very noisy inside as it’s quite snug and you can find yourself having to shout to be heard by your friends/family. We went for a bday recently and were surprised the birthday girl wasn’t offered a glass of fizz on the house lol 🤣🙊

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better we were greeted by Andrew, formally of Waddington Arms, he found us a table straight way, was just as lovely as he always was at the Waddington Arms, amazing recommendations of wines - Andrew it was a pleasure to see you as always. Waddington’s loss is definitely Whalley’s gain!

Sometimes just hard to get in and sometimes, even at peak times, booked out for private functions. Beyond that an excellent choice of wines (go figure!) at not too bad prices. No tables available indoors tonight but outdoors under the heaters was fine. The guy serving us was very good and a real credit to the place.

I love this place. Lovely wine bar in centre of Whalley. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the ambience was great. Jazz playing and fine wine and sharing platter nice relaxing place and pleasant staff.

Just loved the atmosphere and there was a Sax player on too.

If you like wine don’t hesitate to book a night out here.. We went on a Saturday night with friends and had a fantastic evening..A definite shout out to Jarvis who is very knowledgeable about wine, really enthusiastic and couldn’t do enough for us. All of the wines we had were good with some being exceptional! The decor is fab, the ambience is great, I wish Clitheroe had a bar like this. We also had the charcuterie board which was well presented and very tasty. Honestly I can’t fault the place, we will be back soon.

Nice place, service was good but they dot rote the order down and it was wrong twice. Ask to look at the cigars and book in advance - if we come back we will request a low table and not a high stool

Lovely little wine bar. Extensive range of wines. Bar snacks available, we had the dips with pitta bread which was lovely definitely recommend.

Reserved a table which was inside, the acoustics within the bar are terrible so it was unbelievably loud. We ordered our drinks then had to remind the lady as she’d missed some of our order. When she eventually brought them there was no apology, she never spoke just thrust the drinks in front of us. This was our third visit and each time there has been an issue. Clearly this is how they work and we won’t be returning. When we were leaving the sofa we had been sitting on had cleaning products behind the cushions. Health and safety at its best!

I have given this place two stars tonight as I was here on my birthday 18th of March. My mums birthday is today 24th of June. So we loved it so much I said have we to book for your birthday? To my mum in June. Of course the answer was yes. So while I was in the whalley wine bar I did it on line. I got carried away and pressed the booking confirmation and then when it came up saying booking for two I realised I made the mistake, it needed to be three. So I cancelled it and then did three people for the booking. Got the confirmation through for cancelling first wrong booking and got the next booking confirmation through as well. Saved to phone. I arrived with my mum and my partner tonight 24th June. Got greeted asked if we had booked? Yes under surname no booking found. So found it on my screen shot. No its been cancelled. There where two bookings and both are cancelled, I said no for both. I said no wouldn't cancel the second booking for three people. Explained what I did. So I looked on email your booking recieved etc.... then they said you edited something and cancelled? I'm not being funny but I never did. Ends up they sent email out 3rd of June saying booking cancelled. Only one booking cancelled not two?? If the two bookings were cancelled surely two cancellation emails sent out But no only one on 3rd of june why would I want to cancel the second one when I re did it?? Anyway. Waited for a table to come through but had no chance after 50min of waiting. So we went amico mio. But before that the girl said if you come back we will get you a table inside so you can have a drink after meal at amico. We came back. Sorry not serving now. It was 11pm. So we got taxi and came back. Disappointed really. I no for a fact I did not cancel again the second one only the first time as I made the error on two people and not three. Other wise I would give five stars for my birthday meal in march, as was excellent.

Wednesday evening, 9.45 on the 30th of November A night out in Whalley with friends King Street Kitchen first, great foods, then Whalley Wine Bar. At least 3 staff inside but no customers, there would have been 4 if we were allowed in. Unfortunately we were told that it was closed because it was quiet. Door says closes at 11 pm. It’s difficult to plan a night out if the venue may or may not be open. I understand it was quiet but retaining the staff and closing doors does not make sense. It looks very nice inside and out though. Ah well The Dog was open and it was very enjoyable.

Thank you for having us on Thursday. It was a perfect end to a heavy day of courses and we wanted to take the staff somewhere afterwards. As always the drinks were superb and service fantastic. Many thanks for the flexibility on time and numbers...

Had a great evening at Whalley Wine Bar. Sampled a variety of red and white wines between my wife and I, all superb. Enjoyed The Whalley Wine Bar platter of meats and cheese, absolutely delicious. Fantastic atmosphere, great service and felt the bill at the end was very reasonable. Will be returning

Huge choice of beverages, just plonk yourself on one of the comfortable chairs/ sofas someone will offer you a bewildering menu of drinks which seem arrive that I'm sure they can read minds. No pressure, no time limit, just enjoy. Yet another place in Whalley with ambience to spare. Absolutely love the locality.

Love this place. Staff are superb wine is excellent, the sharing boards are just amazing and it's dog friendly to boot. The staff made such a welcome for our two dogs. If you not been, you really must try it

We called at the wine bar one Saturday whilst out for a walk.There was a good choice of wines and beers,and food was also available.The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere relaxed.We would certainly recommend it.

Beautiful place, we sat and just watched the world go by, drinking some lovely different wines, would of loved to of tried the cheese and meats but just had a picnic, the waiter that served us was so polite and attentive, lovely place! Thank you for having us and our dogs

First time to this lovely wine bar. We had a Cheese & Meat platter & a nice Blush Rosa wine . The waiter was polite and very professional friendly and smart. Would definitely be returning and a lovely afternoon in the sunshine.

Whilst staying in Whalley for the weekend we found The Whalley Wine Bar. Pleasant, friendly and well informed staff, wonderful atmosphere and ambience and great tasting wine, if you visit Whalley be sure to pay a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Evening nibbles with a cheese and meat sharing board along with some wild boar pate. Absolutely delicious. Lovely bottle of wine and the staff were very friendly and helpful. And the beauty is that it's dog friendly as well. Definitely be back

An amazing bar! I've been here several times now and every time it's been a pleasant experience. It's relatively small inside but really nice and cosy. The choice of wine is amazing! as are the standard bar drink offerings in general. The cheese and meat boards are very good 😌 and much better value to those served around the corner. It's very popular and doesn't take bookings for small numbers (less than 4) however, every time the front of house has attempted to accommodate us (2 of us normally). If I recall only once have we been able to walk straight in and grab a table at peak time. Other times we've sat outside, waited about 10mins until space, went to another bar to return and once they got some stools and sat at the bar. But like I've said every time is been a pleasant experience and obviously so because we keep returning and shall do. Just to that's the staff are amazing and friendly

Great venue . Very odd seating policy that made no sense at all. Being told to find a seat then ask to sit somewhere else is rather rude .Suffice to say we stayed for one drink then went to a different venue

Wow what an ambiance, music retro and amazing, wine really tasty according to the ladies. For the men I had both ciders, the Fox at 6% plus was smoked and unbelievable, the Samuel Smiths was fresh and fruity. Again 5%. My good friend Jack had the Pale Ale and informed me it was very tasty. I am a draft man and I would say if possible add a few please. Don't forget though this is a wine bar. Being blind, toilets on a perfect level, all staff amazing and extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I will return and I highly recommend.
