Bodega Cocktail Bar & Restaurant in Stockport

We were visiting friends and we went here for breakfast. What a lovely place, the attention to detail was fantastic, the service was 1st class and the food, plentiful, delicious and beautiful quality. Highly recommend and we will be returning to try the evening tapas on our next visit for sure. Thank you.

Been here a few times now and it’s always been good and varied, olives are big and tasty, we always start with them, nice Sangria too.

Fantastic Place Food was amazing and staff couldn’t do enough. Very attentive Cocktails were delicious. Fully Accessible and well spaced out restaurant. My Dad was in a mobility scooter and didn’t have a problem with access which is rare. Will definitely be returning 😃

What can I say? The taste of the food is still dancing on my tongue. You can’t fault this restaurant. Love it. The food is amazing and the portion size are extremely generous. Every dish was delicious. 100% recommendations from me. Myself and my family were made very welcome and it made my Birthday perfect. Thank you to all at Bodgega. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I do a 30 mile round trip to this restaurant because I love it so much.

Second time we’ve been and a definite fall in quality. The restaurant is dark and a bit cold, and I found the waitress to be cold the point of rudeness also. It was very very quiet in there with no atmosphere (wish we’d have gone over the road). The cocktails tasted weak. The prices for food have gone up, ok fair enough but the portions are smaller too so it’s far less value for money. The food was ok, hot, but you kind of feel uncomfortable eating somewhere cold, dark and so quiet. Overall with the lack of atmosphere and the money spent for a pretty poor overall experience I think we’ll give it a miss in future and return to the excellent La Cueva up the road in Cheadle.

1st time visit last night with friends. We had a mix of tapas dishes between us all, food was nothing short of amazing, great selection, good portions and very tasty. Service seemed a little slow on occasion, trying to catch someone's attention to order drinks and get the bill, although the service for bringing the food out once ordered was rapid.

My first visit last night and I wasn't disappointed. Two of us had a range of Tapas dishes which were all very tasty. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was really friendly. Will definitely be back.

We ate here last night, we had a gift of a ‘Groupon’ deal (look it up, well worth it) Food was amazing, mix of Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine. Every dish we had was gorgeous, especially the Gambas Pil Pil 😋. Very local for us and we will be returning soon

Absolutely delicious tapas couldn’t fault a single dish, definitely recommend the gambas pil pil and the muscles were sat in some incredible sauce. Service was fantastic too definitely will be returning wow!

Visited on New years Eve, food was delicious served as it was ready , nice and hot , we had a mixture of small tapas plates then opted for the steak , sea bass and lamb sizzlers as our mains .Staff were friendly and attentive … the only reason It is a 3 star review and not a 5 is the seating area unfortunately. We were sat at the back near the toilets which seemed to be the only area that could accommodate our size of party . The draft from the door to the toilets was horrendous,staff did keep closing it but when that was closed the draft from the back of the walled seating area was just as bad if not worse . We had to stuff our coats down the back to try and stop it, when that failed we put our coats on ! If you sort this out it would definitely be a 5 😊

We visited on Christmas Eve, it was absolutely dead, though we had had a booking for 6 weeks. On the online booking form you can specify vouchers and occasions, I had stated I had a groupon voucher (after checking there were no exempt dates in the t&c which there were not) and that we were celebrating a birthday. When we arrived we checked again we could order from the standard menu (on which we noticed the prices had increased) and the waitress sent another waiter over who said Christmas Eve was a holiday and they don’t allow vouchers but they’d have to accept it this one time, and that in the future I needed to fill the booking form in properly ‘for future reference’ despite the fact I had, and had the booking confirmation to prove it!(they refused to look at my phone!) and had checked the t&cs and given 6 weeks notice! We felt so uncomfortable and patronised in the literally silent restaurant we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. On hearing this the waiter came over again and ‘insisted we stay for our children since we’d dressed up’ (we were wearing Christmas clothes as we’d been to the circus). Given the choice of being served by two incredibly rude and patronising staff in an empty restaurant (and spending a good £100 on top of our voucher) we decided the occasion celebration had been ruined so we opted again to leave (it was getting embarrassing at this point). He waived the drinks (we’d only ordered anyway as we were planning on getting food) as he clearly realised (or at least I hope so) that he’d offended us. Awful customer service, zero Christmas spirit or atmosphere, we left the restaurant as empty as we found it and had a great meal locally elsewhere. A masterclass on how to lose customers.

Never having personally done a bottomless brunch before decided to go to this venue with friends for our annual Christmas ladies outing. As one of the party doesn’t drink anything other than lager. I phoned ahead at time of making reservation to ask if it was ok if she could have lager I was told it wasn’t a problem. We were met with a surly faced man and requested our drinks he told us lager was not an option we explained that we’d cleared this on booking as we’d have changed venue he reluctantly agreed! Not a good start.. we proceeded to try the cocktails wanting to try each one. On asking for another drink, we were given a look of disapproval as we were on the dregs of our drinks and I presume not allowed to order until the glasses were drained.. I’m sorry we are not children… thankfully someone else arrived to serve us!! We decided to have one last drink we looked for someone to order from after 5 mins or so we ordered from the waitress who looked nervous to take the order… she came back and told us that as we’d not ordered 15 mins before the end of the session we couldn’t have another drink!! Is this such a thing ? 90 minutes that isn’t 90 minutes bottomless drinks that aren’t bottomless… this was not hospitality at its finest.., food was good hence the 3 stars but all in all a bad experience… never known anything like this. Customer is key. We were made to feel very unwelcome. This venue has lost custom from ladies that regularly dine out in the area. I will certainly pass on feedback to the people that ask if the place is worth a visit .., waitress was lovely that said. I never normally leave negative reviews but this deserves calling out… service with a smile pays dividends… No Christmas cheer here …

Amazing food, service and drinks

We've visited twice in the past 3/4 weeks, had 12 dishes (9 different & 3 the same because they're personal favourites) and you'd genuinely have difficulty rating the taste & flavours in each dish in any type of order because everything is a taste sensation. We can especially recommend the mixed bread basket & alioli, Gambas Pil Pil, Pork Belly, Sacuk (Mediterranean Spicy Sausage), Lamb Stofado & Chorizo. Cocktails are fantastic too. The friendly staff, food, drinks, restaurant interior & atmosphere make for an all round perfect dining experience.

This is a really lovely tapas restaurant with delicious food. I attended with my young daughter early evening and every dish was very tasty; I highly recommend! The interior of the restaurant is very attractive and cosy and overall we had a very positive experience and will happily return.

Came here for tea midweek and wasn’t disappointed, lovely looking place and gorgeous food with great staff too! Will be returning

Visited Bodega today for the 2nd time for some lunch and really enjoyed our visit. We ordered the Cajun Chicken Burger, Roasted Vegetable Ciabatta and Hummus with Pitta. Previously visited and had the English Breakfast. Food portions are excellent and great value for money with the quality of the food. Service very pleasant and really nicely decorated restaurant. Will try to get back soon for the tapas in the evening as have some friends who regularly visit. Nice to have another really good restaurant in Gatley village.

Brill service. I had the steak and it was lovely, cooked perfectly and the peppercorn sauce tasted divine. My partner had the seafood platter, very nice and tasty. Food came very fast, service was fab although we were the only ones there. Atmosphere was very calm. Cocktails 10/10. 2 for £14 and the bodega sunrise cocktail was AMAZING. Would definitely recommend to all.

Had a work meal out here yesterday… 10 of us in total.. what can I say….. outstanding service from all, The waitresses, the bar staff, were awesome…. Everything was perfect, plenty of drinks and the staff were very attentive to us all. The food came out all together, piping hot, fresh Tapas…. Amazing… great portion sizes too.. The calamari was HUGE fresh light crispy batter and so soft and tender it melted in the mouth…… We must have had one of every dish, between us all and I got to taste everything. Loved all of it (only exception for me was the stuff vine leave, I’ve never liked them, but I even tried these, still not to my personal liking…. But everyone else really enjoyed them) Really glad I went, having travelled from Blackburn…. Will I be going again… most certainly I will. Worth a visit if you’re in the area and if not, try it anyway. One thing I would suggest is book, as it gets busy as soon as the door opens. Also….. you have to try the Cheesecake… my word, that’s amazing too. left last night being rolled out, having eaten so much. Really enjoyed the night. The wife and I went here for our anniversary meal and were both really impressed. The layout of the restaurant is brilliant and the big bifold doors were open at the front which added a ‘holiday’ feel to the place. Service was great and portions were huge! Best Tapas I’ve ever had. So rich and flavourful. Will definitely be going again! Slight negative is that they take a while to take your order (Mediterranean style I guess) and the food comes out ad hoc when ready. 100% recommend.

I have been here 3 times. The first time I went was for dinner and really enjoyed it. I decided to go again but for brunch as the menu looked amazing and I was not let down at all. The portion size was great and the service was amazing. However, today as a group of 5. I was very disappointed in the food, the prices for some portions aren't reasonable. We ordered a variety to try of the menu for example the calamari however, we only got 4 pieces which is very disappointing. They missed several dishes and desserts off that we ordered and the gentleman who we spoke to didn't apologise just mentioned how we never ordered it but the female waitress recalls us ordering it. We were charged double for certain dishes as they were missing. The service was slow and there were alot of flies in the restaurant. I'm very disappointed in this place as I found it amazing the first time but let down this time.

Recently visited Bodega with my family for the first time for breakfast after some recommendations from friends. Went for breakfast on Sunday, me and my wife had the full English breakfast and it was really good. Food was very good quality and matched the price. Can always tell if you are having a good English Breakfast by the quality of sausages which were very tasty. Service was very quick and all the staff were extremely polite. Just very relaxed and will definitely be visiting again for lunch/evening meal. The menu looks very good (also not a huge menu which I personally prefer) and priced well from first glance.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Usual wraps, etc. Expensive every one in our party felt this. Painting a few walls different colours does not make a place Mediterranean. Shall bother going again

First visit here last night but it won't be our last. There were 7 of us so we did a lot of tasting of lots of different dishes and each was amazing in it's own right. Food was excellent, service was perfect, in fact the whole experience was faultless. We will definitely be back!

Went for lunch the day before and the club sandwich was amazing, served with skin on fries and salad price approx £10.95. The paninis were lovely as was the Caesar salad. I took the grandchildren for tapas the following day and was shocked, the food tasted lovely but the pricing need to be reviewed. A portion of Calamari £7.95 for 3 pieces! Ribs £8.50 for 3 Albondigas £7 for 3. The mixed skewers at £9.25 were a decent sized portion. I have to say charging £2.65 for 1 calamari ring, £2.80 for 1 rib and £2.30 for 1 meatball is not not on. I did complain and the calamari was taken off the bill which was still £65. Would certainly go back for breakfast and lunch but not for the tapas until portions reflect the price.
