Istanbul Grill in Stockport

We visited Istanbul Grill in Cheadle today to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday, and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. There were seven of us—five adults and two children—and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. The service was brilliant. The team was so friendly and attentive, and the whole place was spotless. Special shoutout to Jengis, who looked after our table—he was fantastic! So accommodating, funny, and genuinely made us all feel at home. He interacted brilliantly with my nieces and really added to the joy of the evening. The food was amazing. Every single dish was cooked to perfection, but for me the chicken, lamb chops, and that garlic mushroom sauce really stood out. Absolutely delicious! To top it all off, the staff sang happy birthday to my mum and made her feel truly special. It was such a lovely touch and really added to the celebration. A huge thank you to Jengis and everyone at Istanbul Grill for making the evening so memorable. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The atmosphere is nice, and the service is decent, but the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. The desserts were good, but I’ve had better elsewhere. Overall, it’s an okay spot for a quick bite, but not a must-visit.

Had girls night out and the manger and staff were accommodating. One of the had been brilliant in indulging our need to document the momentous occasion of making it out 😀 the food was lovely but slightly on the higher side with pricing. Though lovely atmosphere. It was all worth the outing with the girls 🤍

Perfection, the food was amazing, excellent staff, nice ambience, 👌🏾👌🏾 and the dessert 🍨 OMG! That was one of my very few favourite fudge cakes. Will definitely visit again ☺️

Lovely place to eat and have cocktails. We had a gorgeous meal. Strawverry daiquiris were to die for. The waiter was really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

We ordered online on Saturday the 15 the march Gamberoni smelt off and also the salad had soaked and old lettuce Cherry tomatoes top was slightly rotten in other food - not great quality

This restaurant is definitely an underrated spot for Turkish food in Manchester. It offers warm service with a delicious variety of foods that cover every aspect of the Mediterranean cuisine, leaving you spoilt for choice. The starters that came with turkish bread, hummus and cacik were pleasant. The bread was akin to focaccia, with a light, airy and soft texture. Their hummus was smooth with a slight tang that proved just as delicious as the cacik dish, both a lovely start to the meal. Their slow cooked lamb shank, on a bed of mash potato, with the lamb’s own gravy was satisfying, much different to the other lamb shank dishes I have tried. The gravy had a slight sweetness to it but the lamb was tender, the portion of mashed potato making it very satiating. The mixed chargrill (karisik) was also another dish with generous portions of lamb chops, kofte kebab, lamb fillets and a herb marinated chicken fillet - with rice & salad garnish. The mix of different grilled meat made it an exciting dining experience. Both the pan fried sea bass fillet on a bed of light creamy garlic tossed spinach, garden vegetables and potato, and grilled chicken fillet topped with a garlic creamy mushroom sauce served with rice had mellow tastes. The portions were modest yet enjoyable, not leaving too heavy a burden on the stomach. Staff members were very kind and hospitable, the restaurant had a lovely ambiance which only elevated the dining experience further. Overall, the food and service at this restaurant warranted another visit, or two, or three. You can explore all facets of the Mediterranean with a refreshing and satisfying dining experience!

The service was excellent but the food we tried was not that good as we expected.

Went here for my birthday meal and it didn't disapoint. Me and my wife had the sharing mix grill platter. It was delicious. The meat melted in your mouth. We had our 3 kids with us. My eldest is very picky and always takes ages eating anything. She demolished her food and was 1st to finish. Lol. Would definitely go again.

Lovely meal, paid a £75 booking deposit as there were 15 of us. The deposit nor the service charge was reflected on the receipt, they added 10% but it wasn't annotated & we therefore tipped a little over 10% as well... We forgot about the £75 deposit we'd already paid & only realised the following day ...had to go back in & have it refunded. ....check your receipts. The food is lovely & a great atmosphere, just the billing queries let it down.

From the booking app for the reservation to the meal I was pleasantly surprised by the ease, the service and the quality of the food and overall experience. I cannot fault it at all. Service spot on, flavour and presentation of food fantastic. Hot meals what a difference.

An excellent night out. Welcoming staff; with a warm greeting every time. All levels of staff attentive, from waiting to management. Good quality food, with good selection of meals and great wine list. Highly recommended.

food was very good but quite pricy for 2 of us and a service charge on the bill, I dont know if that is a compulsory charge but, our Christmas party for 11 people had a £40 service charge, May use again but service charge is not good.

Food is great, big portions, reasonably priced, very friendly service. Got us in , 9 of us, in no time when we walked in off chance. It's a lovely warm atmosphere. My second time and I'd definitely recommend

Food was amazing! Was absolutely stuffed after the starters. The waiter was amazing, and recommended starters, mains and drinks after asking.

The on manu written as ale cart. Let me tell you. It's far from that. It's far from a good turkish cuisine. We had a 3 people sharer platter . The meat on top was decent and then the meat at the button had a wierd smell like it was off and they tried to disguise it with the seasoning. Would not advice this restaurant as I had a lot of turkish food and this was far the worst!

Yesterday we ate at this restaurant, the food was really nice and we got the order very quickly. And it was not cheap. Today we came back and we wanted to take takeaway to eat food at home and celebrate new year. What happened? They were happy to serve us inside but they basically lied that they are busy and not taking orders for delivery. But! There were a few people in the restaurant. This selective approach was based on what? It’s very unpleasant and we will not come back. -3 families thanks to such “welcoming” approach👏🏻

Went for the bottomless brunch they took for ever to bring me a drink and your can’t have a double then he told us we had 10 minutes left so I asked him for another drink he told me id had enough after paying £35 pounds for it 😡😡😡

It was very busy, so although we had booked we did have to wait at a bar table until our table was available. The prawn starter was just beautiful and my main the flat steak was cooked to perfection, my mum had the fillet seabass and loved it...we really enjoyed the food and the mocktails were good too! It would of been nice if they had made a little fuss for my mums birthday (it was that day) offered a free drink/dessert ir something like that but nevermind maybe they were just too busy to do that! It doesn't change that both myself and my mum would definitely recommend and would surely go there again next time we're in the area🙂

When for a family dinner. First time we had been. We had a wonderful time and the food was excellent atmosphere was so friendly and the restaurant was nice and warm. The staff are so friendly we will definitely be going back .

Went for a belated birthday treat for my mum who is gluten intolerant. From start to finish the treatment of us was wonderful. I called ahead to book and advised that my mum was gluten free. Akhan booked us in and not only made sure he'd ordered in gluten free bread but took the time to explain the menu options and the service was second to none. The only glitch was they did accidentally put rice with wheat on the plate but corrected it right away and brought a new plate. The food was also insanely tasty. I had the feta cheese borek which for me was the highlight of my food as it just melts in the mouth. All of the staff were just exceptional though and special thanks to Akhan who really went above and beyond!

Superb food, so tasty and cooked to perfection. It was my 75th birthday meal off my daughter. Brilliant atmosphere even had the bongos playing happy birthday to 3 other birthday celebrations. It was a fantastic place, a bit expensive, but the food was worth it.

Menu is very disappointing as they don't really cater for dietary requirements and not much gluten free option i ended up getting chicken and rice and that was it due to poor options plus they also added a service charge of 26.00 pounds its a huge shame we won't be going again as so many other places that offers better value for money.

Held my grandsons wedding breakfast here several years ago , it was first class. Not been much since covid but after a long absence the head waiter recognised us and gave us both a big friendly hug. We're both pleased to see him. Food is highly recommended, ambience is good, children welcome. The owner and family also dine here which I think is a recommendation itself.

The service is fantastic. The seafood is not fresh. The Adana kofte and chicken are missing a lot of flavours. They weren't impressive. Too many dips in the cold starter selection that felt like a dips platter. Missing the great Mediterranean fresh salads that comes always generously with starters adn mains.

Friendly service, great menus for lunch bites and main meals. Really enjoyed the food, plenty of taste, well presented and would recommend.

A little wait on arrival. So stood around waiting to be seated by front of house staff. Noticed straight away the restaurants lovely decor. Just went for an early light dinner. Unfortunately never got asked how are meals were, the table being did. Food was tasty, wine was nice also.

Myself and my wife came here for our 5th wedding anniversary, we have been here before and never had a bad experience the food is fantastic service was great we both left with very full belly's and big smiles on our faces. Cannot wait to go back highly recommend 👌.

I ordered from this place at least twice a week. As a family we work long hours and care for elderly parents every day so it’s hard to find quality, fresh, honest food to enjoy.

Ordered the prawn starter and mixed grill. The prawn starter has a nice presentation, with a good garlic and spices sauce; however, it’s a huge disappointment that the main key ingredient - prawns - is not fresh. The mixed grill was okay; however, one of the grilled items - beef patties - was dry. Of all the 3 items I ordered, the rice is the best of all.
