Istanbul Grill in Stockport

From the booking app for the reservation to the meal I was pleasantly surprised by the ease, the service and the quality of the food and overall experience. I cannot fault it at all. Service spot on, flavour and presentation of food fantastic. Hot meals what a difference.

Lovely meal, paid a £75 booking deposit as there were 15 of us. The deposit nor the service charge was reflected on the receipt, they added 10% but it wasn't annotated & we therefore tipped a little over 10% as well... We forgot about the £75 deposit we'd already paid & only realised the following day ...had to go back in & have it refunded. ....check your receipts. The food is lovely & a great atmosphere, just the billing queries let it down.

An excellent night out. Welcoming staff; with a warm greeting every time. All levels of staff attentive, from waiting to management. Good quality food, with good selection of meals and great wine list. Highly recommended.

food was very good but quite pricy for 2 of us and a service charge on the bill, I dont know if that is a compulsory charge but, our Christmas party for 11 people had a £40 service charge, May use again but service charge is not good.

The food was amazing. I had the meatballs and Calamari. They were cooked to perfection. N the cocktails were to die for

Food is great, big portions, reasonably priced, very friendly service. Got us in , 9 of us, in no time when we walked in off chance. It's a lovely warm atmosphere. My second time and I'd definitely recommend

The on manu written as ale cart. Let me tell you. It's far from that. It's far from a good turkish cuisine. We had a 3 people sharer platter . The meat on top was decent and then the meat at the button had a wierd smell like it was off and they tried to disguise it with the seasoning. Would not advice this restaurant as I had a lot of turkish food and this was far the worst!

Yesterday we ate at this restaurant, the food was really nice and we got the order very quickly. And it was not cheap. Today we came back and we wanted to take takeaway to eat food at home and celebrate new year. What happened? They were happy to serve us inside but they basically lied that they are busy and not taking orders for delivery. But! There were a few people in the restaurant. This selective approach was based on what? It’s very unpleasant and we will not come back. -3 families thanks to such “welcoming” approach👏🏻

Big thank you to Arkan and the Team at Istanbul Grill for coming to my aid in my hour of need. Staying at the local village Hotel who couldn’t accommodate my dietary requirement. Although the restaurant was close to shutting they prepared the most delicious food I have had in a while out. Nothing was too much trouble and I can’t thank them enough. Wishing you a prosperous 2025 which I don’t think will be hard after the good I tasted. 😋

Went for the bottomless brunch they took for ever to bring me a drink and your can’t have a double then he told us we had 10 minutes left so I asked him for another drink he told me id had enough after paying £35 pounds for it 😡😡😡

It was very busy, so although we had booked we did have to wait at a bar table until our table was available. The prawn starter was just beautiful and my main the flat steak was cooked to perfection, my mum had the fillet seabass and loved it...we really enjoyed the food and the mocktails were good too! It would of been nice if they had made a little fuss for my mums birthday (it was that day) offered a free drink/dessert ir something like that but nevermind maybe they were just too busy to do that! It doesn't change that both myself and my mum would definitely recommend and would surely go there again next time we're in the area🙂

When for a family dinner. First time we had been. We had a wonderful time and the food was excellent atmosphere was so friendly and the restaurant was nice and warm. The staff are so friendly we will definitely be going back .

Went for a belated birthday treat for my mum who is gluten intolerant. From start to finish the treatment of us was wonderful. I called ahead to book and advised that my mum was gluten free. Akhan booked us in and not only made sure he'd ordered in gluten free bread but took the time to explain the menu options and the service was second to none. The only glitch was they did accidentally put rice with wheat on the plate but corrected it right away and brought a new plate. The food was also insanely tasty. I had the feta cheese borek which for me was the highlight of my food as it just melts in the mouth. All of the staff were just exceptional though and special thanks to Akhan who really went above and beyond!

Superb food, so tasty and cooked to perfection. It was my 75th birthday meal off my daughter. Brilliant atmosphere even had the bongos playing happy birthday to 3 other birthday celebrations. It was a fantastic place, a bit expensive, but the food was worth it.

Menu is very disappointing as they don't really cater for dietary requirements and not much gluten free option i ended up getting chicken and rice and that was it due to poor options plus they also added a service charge of 26.00 pounds its a huge shame we won't be going again as so many other places that offers better value for money.

Held my grandsons wedding breakfast here several years ago , it was first class. Not been much since covid but after a long absence the head waiter recognised us and gave us both a big friendly hug. We're both pleased to see him. Food is highly recommended, ambience is good, children welcome. The owner and family also dine here which I think is a recommendation itself.

The service is fantastic. The seafood is not fresh. The Adana kofte and chicken are missing a lot of flavours. They weren't impressive. Too many dips in the cold starter selection that felt like a dips platter. Missing the great Mediterranean fresh salads that comes always generously with starters adn mains.

Friendly service, great menus for lunch bites and main meals. Really enjoyed the food, plenty of taste, well presented and would recommend.

A little wait on arrival. So stood around waiting to be seated by front of house staff. Noticed straight away the restaurants lovely decor. Just went for an early light dinner. Unfortunately never got asked how are meals were, the table being did. Food was tasty, wine was nice also.

Myself and my wife came here for our 5th wedding anniversary, we have been here before and never had a bad experience the food is fantastic service was great we both left with very full belly's and big smiles on our faces. Cannot wait to go back highly recommend 👌.

I ordered from this place at least twice a week. As a family we work long hours and care for elderly parents every day so it’s hard to find quality, fresh, honest food to enjoy.

Food was really tasty, just a shame the skin on roast potatoes were missing. However this won't stop me ordering again

Terrible service and too long waiting although not at busy time

Ordered the prawn starter and mixed grill. The prawn starter has a nice presentation, with a good garlic and spices sauce; however, it’s a huge disappointment that the main key ingredient - prawns - is not fresh. The mixed grill was okay; however, one of the grilled items - beef patties - was dry. Of all the 3 items I ordered, the rice is the best of all.

Just had a family gathering for my daughters 8th birthday food amazing,as always, the waiter who looked after us couldn't have been nicer and especially to my little girl thank yoi for making her birthday so special.

Me and my fiancee had our evening meal here. The best lamb I have ever had coupled with really friendly and polite staff. Seriously recommend anybody to try. You really won't be disappointed

disappointing. not eaten from here in a few years, ordered our usual, portion size was absolutely tiny and it also arrived cold. used to be one of our favourites for a takeaway but to be honest i won't be ordering again, can get far more for my money elsewhere

Mixed skewer is £15 for 2 measly skewers of kebab - no salad, no rice, no sauce, no bread - all of this has to be bought separately. I’ve never seen a Turkish restaurant do this.

I had a very good time absolutely. loved the waiter staff especially that very tall man. young girls i noticed were very helpful and polite. I loved to see young ones working hard. Food amazing especially that chocolate cake wow.

Staff unfriendly, food too expensive for tiny portions, wanted to charge us £65 just for starters and bread. Had to wait 40 minutes even though we arrived before all the other customers who were now eating. Sensed a bit of racism there. Avoid.

Way Overpriced and extremely bad service. Food was late for an hour even though we were the first table to arrive to the restaurant. After waiting for an hour and saw that all the other tables that arrived after were served with food we decided to leave and Thank god we left and didn’t stay as the starter (which was £40) was not worth it and they served it with ONE single piece of bread!! They tried to charge £5 per bread! Wouldn’t recommend and would never go back!

Just had the worst experience ever in a restaurant. We arrived the first in the restaurant with all the tables are still empty. After they took the order and served the starters "which is very tiny portions and highly priced" they kept us waiting for more than 40 minutes while they served the customer who arrived after us!!! First and last time visiting this place. We decided to leave and not to wait longer.

We decided to get a Turkish experience prior to our holiday to Istanbul, My partner was dying for a Moussaka and was craving this particular dish all day I had Muska Borek and and a mixed grill and it was unbelievably good! I was given a homemade Turkish chilli sauce that was to die for, when I said how much I lived it to top off the night one of the waiters didn’t allow me to leave until he gave me some to take home with me, Exceptional restaurant, food and staff - we will be back!

We were visiting Manchester from Canada and a friend of ours took us here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What a pleasant surprise! The food was excellent and the flat bread, what an invention! My husband and I felt like celebrities with the singing, drumming and cheering of the staff and the other patrons to wish us a happy anniversary. I would recommend this restaurant 100%. Great food and great atmosphere.

Great food as usuall never fails .

Calamari & breaded king prawns weren’t great, definitely not freshly made. The main meals (steak and lamb) were very nice though. We came on mothers day and it was a 2 course set menu for £30 (+£6 for steak)… terrible value for money. The bill was £140 for 3 people with just one bottle of wine for drinks?

Came Saturday afternoon. Manager is extremely grumpy, no smiles or hellos. Very cold & dismissive to us & even our baby & toddler. Ordered oat latte & I got milk instead (I have a milk allergy) but the waitress quickly fixed this. Breakfast was good. Ordered our kids French toast but this didn’t come out & when I went to enquire they hadn’t even put it on, by this point hubby & I nearly finished breakfast so we cancelled the order as we had to leave for an appointment. It was only us & another couple at the restaurant so not sure how this was missed especially as manager said your kids breakfast is coming after he served ours to us. Kids got by on toast. One young waiter was absolutely brilliant with our kids, so chipper & made my toddler laugh! Thanks so much for being so sweet young man!
