Istanbul Grill in Stockport

We were visiting Manchester from Canada and a friend of ours took us here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What a pleasant surprise! The food was excellent and the flat bread, what an invention! My husband and I felt like celebrities with the singing, drumming and cheering of the staff and the other patrons to wish us a happy anniversary. I would recommend this restaurant 100%. Great food and great atmosphere.

Great food as usuall never fails .

Calamari & breaded king prawns weren’t great, definitely not freshly made. The main meals (steak and lamb) were very nice though. We came on mothers day and it was a 2 course set menu for £30 (+£6 for steak)… terrible value for money. The bill was £140 for 3 people with just one bottle of wine for drinks?

Came Saturday afternoon. Manager is extremely grumpy, no smiles or hellos. Very cold & dismissive to us & even our baby & toddler. Ordered oat latte & I got milk instead (I have a milk allergy) but the waitress quickly fixed this. Breakfast was good. Ordered our kids French toast but this didn’t come out & when I went to enquire they hadn’t even put it on, by this point hubby & I nearly finished breakfast so we cancelled the order as we had to leave for an appointment. It was only us & another couple at the restaurant so not sure how this was missed especially as manager said your kids breakfast is coming after he served ours to us. Kids got by on toast. One young waiter was absolutely brilliant with our kids, so chipper & made my toddler laugh! Thanks so much for being so sweet young man!

Food was mid, portion sizes was tiny for £16. The staff were very nice and the restaurant itself was nicely decorated. When raised about the food and portion sizes, the excuse was "not everyone can eat a big meal" I wasn't looking for a big meal but I'd be better filled to have a rustlers....

Visited with friends. Interior was ok, staff were friendly...that's where the positives end. Ordered a mixed grill whereby you have to order sides separately (not something I've seen in any other Turkish restaurant). Food arrived promptly and looked like the chef could not be bothered, four pieces of meat stacked on top of each other with a grilled tomato on the side, no breads, no sauces, the plate was a very sad looking effort. Tried to let the manager know what a mess the food was and he replied with a question of "have you seen how much things have gone up lately?" he totally missed the point. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't even consider returning.

I'm a regular visitor here, having been coming here for several years as it is my brother's favourite Turkish restaurant and he recommends it to everyone 😄 There are so many tasty dishes on the menu, with it being slightly expensive in some regards. But still worth it, can't speak highly enough of the food ❤️ To be honest the only reason I don't come here more is the price. But every meal I have had is memorable and leaves me feeling satisfied and looking forward to my next visit. They did used to do a lunch menu and a meze offer in the afternoon which was great value for such quality - don't know if they still do it Quality of food is excellent with the lamb chops exemplifying this aspect. The last meal we had was so good I had to write a review. 45 quid for an amazing meal, not bad at all 😊 I had the feta salad with a side of vegetables and my bother had the mixed grill with a side of rice and we had a garlic bread with cheese to share which was fabulous. Thank you for such a wonderful meal 🙏

That's precisely what he mentioned to me, by the way. I am Turkish, and my husband is English. He is pleasantly surprised and delighted by the impeccable service and Turkish hospitality. We have visited many Turkish restaurants across the UK, and yours is undoubtedly the most delicious. The food is simply of the highest quality and incredibly tasty. Additionally, the restaurant itself boasts a lovely, cozy atmosphere. I apologize that I only took 2 photos and forgot to capture images of the amazing starters as we were so hungry! I would like to say thank you again from here.

I've been there three times, and let me tell you, it's a fantastic place with a chill and cool atmosphere. The staff is super friendly, and the food is pretty good. Last weekend I ordered soup for a starter, it came with the most amazing freshly baked bread. It's definitely one of my favorite restaurants, and I highly recommend pizza pollo

Fabulous Christmas Day meal with family. We all enjoyed the day and had a fabulous time.

Had dinner here for the first time this week and I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of every dish on our table! Both starters selections and our mains were hot and flavoursome- we truly could not pick favourites! The restaurant was quiet but by no means did that dampen the experience. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive, and restaurant felt very well taken care of with its appearance. I will say that this isn't the cheapest Turkish restaurant I have been to, however, the food was top quality and the portions were generous. We drove to the location and were pleased that there was parking available within an easy walking distance. I also must acknowledge that the restaurant is all flat/levelled but tables are close so if you require the use of mobility aids, I would recommend calling ahead. We did see that a customer had an aid while we dined so this was definitely a good sign for accessibility I would happily recommend and would return to sample even more of the menu!

This place consistently gets orders wrong and doesn't take allergen advice seriously. While they're quick to take orders and get customers in, the lack of attention to detail is disappointing. If you have dietary restrictions, be extra cautious. Not the best experience overall.

We had dinner and I must say that the food was just amazing ! My husband had lamb chops ( he tries them everywhere) and he said that these were the best lamb chops ever. I had cacik and again, it was the best that I ever tried. It is a bit pricey but I think it's worth the money when you get something that you enjoy. The staff was very nice and making sure we are well looked after, in particular the bulgarian team member. Thank you

The food was at best poor, I was shocked at the standard of the food, a popular place but I definitely will never visit this establishment again nor do I recommend it. If you like flavoursome food avoid this place, bland food representing a wonderful country Turkey.

Lovely place to eat. Service was great. Entourage was very nice. The food was just soooo good! Absolutely loved the chicken kebab. And the tzatziki was amazing, best we've had in a long time. Love to come back some day.

Absolutely brilliant, staff friendly, helpful and gave advice on side orders so that you did not order too much as all portions were a good size and could be shared. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Came here with a very large group (over 30 people) which was a bit chaotic, but the staff were lovely and really accommodating. When there’s that many people to serve, the food quality usually goes down in most places, but every meal was still very nice. Would definitely recommend.

So sad. After living in Istanbul for 12 months I had high expectations of this restaurant. I was really disappointed. The food was less than average. It would have been better if they focused on a reduced menu of great quality. I won’t be returning.

Sorry guys, tiny portions that are expensive for what you get, Chicken kebabs were small, no rice, hardly any side salad, and the chicken had a processed texture and shape which makes me think its man made! Sadly I doubt I'll return, cost me £40 for a efes beer, bruschetta (soggy bread) so everything fell off, calamari rings again felt processed & chicken kebabs, solo diner so imagine a meal for 4 is £160+

Visited the restaurant on Tuesday booked a table for 2 as was my wife’s birthday. We were greeted warmly and sat comfortably Our order was taken and food was served well in time the food was delicious and the prawns were amazing The only feedback I would have is although requesting for a dessert to. be brought out with a candle for my wife’s birthday this wasn’t done despite requesting this on the booking This would have made it a beautiful experience However will not stop us for returning back

Been to Istanbul grill many times, food is always fantastic as is the service however after recent visit I shall not be returning as I don't like there dishonest way of adding a mandatory service charge to the bill, spent close to £300 for 8 people only to have an additional £30 added to the final bill, we always tip the staff anyway especially when in a large party but it shouldn't be a forced tip- the price on the menu is the price you should pay, its like popping to the local shop for a £1 loaf of bread only to be told at the till no its actually £1.20 as the advertised price doesn't include the hidden charge ......not acceptable Istanbul grill it really isn't especially considering the menu changes you've made recently so that things like rice & salad are no longer included with menu items

love this place! brilliant, lively atmosphere. staff are so friendly…they do you a sing song for your birthday! haahaa. food is delicious! the lavaas bread is to die for! the feta cheese and spinach parcels are fab, so is the cacik. i then had mixed grill, gorgeous! baklava is fab too! treat yourself!

What a wonderful meal, starters main and desserts finished with a cup of tea. Kids loved milkshakes and Sundays, the baklava and chocolate cake was a great round of. Highly recommend .

Absolutely stunning food. Plenty to eat and if you don't want to eat it all you can get it to take home with you. Staff were amazing. We went with 11 people and everyone was served piping hot food it all came at the same time so no one was eating and other people waiting really well cared for thanks for a brilliant meal 👏👏

Top food, delicious, 5/5, great service, short time of waiting for food, great chefs, variety of meals, oriental spices. I tried a fillet of swordfish with califlower and carrot and young potates. The fillet was very soft and delicious. I truly recommend this restaurant 👍👍👍

Went here for a work do. Friendly staff and good service. Drinks are however very expensive £10 for a double gin and lemonade. Food portions are very large on the main courses , starters were very tasty nice selection of Turkish starters.

Excellent Turkish restaurant. The building was previously Weavers scally bar and a furniture and white goods store before that. The lunchtime /afternoon deals are exceptional value. Good selection of meat and vegetarian meals. Valued part of a great restaurant scene in Cheadle.

This is my parents' favourite restaurant so we eat here a few times a year. The lunch menu is good value but we tend to eat from the a la carte. The portions are a good size and we often struggle to finish everything. The bread is fantastic! Plenty of veggie options and some vegan. The Imam Biyaldi is recommended. The staff are great and always welcome my parents by name and look after us very well.

Very nice meal. Four of us. Between us We had two hummus with bread.Then a main meal each. My Spinach and feta chicken, swapped rice for chips and side salad was very nice. Service was perfect.

I Keep going back. The food and service is excellent. The food is freshly made in an open kitchen teasing your senses with the lovely smells before it's even put in front of you. When it does you will be served with a high degree of professionalism engage and attentive. And at the end even the bill isn't offensive

Went on a Saturday night to celebrate an academic achievement. There was an ambience of celebration. Lots of music dance and decoration. Food ordered was delicious and given in a timely manner. Enjoyed every bit. Definitely will return!

After an afternoon out with friends we called in here around 8pm, we were quickly seated our drinks and food orders were taken. The food was soon presented along with drinks, there was clean empty plates soon waiting to be taken away. The bottle of wine we had was nice and not too expensive. We have no problems recommending this restaurant if you want good food well worth going.
