Lovely afternoon meeting old friends & one special friend from Australia. This is a hidden gem but could be improved greatly and 'COULD BE A UNIQUE' place for Sunderland. Firstly they need to get the phone line working. Three of us had tried to get through to pre order food but phone line does not work. Two lovely happy girls on service but they were overworked and looked stressed, they need a pat on the back . Couple of jacket potato orders were missed from one order so it was an extra half hr wait. Then 2 sandwiches came out with wrong fillings then they ran out of bread so no more sandwiches could be ordered. Not the waiting staffs fault but they got the flack. Then we were told there was no white wine left. Such a shame as we loved the place but it needs these things addressing. would still recommend as we need some unusual attractions in our city. With a telephone system that works.

Ordered the Sunday special and a kids meal the kids meal didn’t turn up so I rang and they said they would send it out an hour later they sent out a plain curry not the kids meal rang back and was told it was to late to be sorted as they were behind on orders ect

So after our wedding party being cancelled due to Covid 19 it’s taken over 6 months to recover my deposit. After initially being told we would be refunded then another email saying we cancelled and would not get a refund. I’m pretty sure your venue being closed due to a Pandemic is NOT me cancelling. After a few emails back and forth they suddenly stopped responding. Fortunately for me I had paid the deposit on my Credit card who were able to reverse the transaction under a section 75 chargeback. If my bank had not stepped in and refunded me on there behalf I believe I would never have been refunded 6 months of being fobbed if is more than enough. I would strongly urge anyone else in a similar position to contact your card company. The Quayside Exchange seem to think it ok to keep your money and ignore all correspondents It’s such a shame it had to come to this, it could have been delt with so much better. The terrible service speaks volumes
