Port of Call in Sunderland

We visited on a Friday evening for food before seeing a show at the empire, the atmosphere was great and the staff were extremely friendly! We had 4 meals and all the food was red hot, delicious and very good portion sizes , my husband left his glasses on the table that evening, I rang back and they confirmed they were there and with us being a 3hr drive away, they offered to post them out to us! Absolutely amazing service, I would not hesitate to return next time we are in Sunderland

Would of given zero stars but had to give at least one this was my 3rd time in port of call other 2 times were good went in today and it was awful had fat matt cheesy chips way over priced not worth £13 more cheese than anything else was freezing cold felt ill after wards someone came over to clear the table he said did you enjoy it i told him it was awful worst meal I've had he just laughed I said seriously it was awfuly bad he said well you've eaten it i said because I paid £13 wasn't just going to leave it and be out of pocket and I was hungry would never go back in there again even the drinks were flat not worth the money total rip off

We visited Port of Call for an early dinner. The bar is located in a great central area in Sunderland. We entered and sat down, menus were on the table and you order from the bar. After looking over the menu, I decided I would go for the sticky pork belly loaded fries. I went to the bar to order, service was friendly and it was a relatively cheap meal. We did not have to wait long for the food as it was served in about 10 minutes of ordering. The Pork Belly and the sauce that accompanied it was very nice, the fries however were a little soggy unfortunately which took a little bit away from the meal. It is worth visiting Port of Call, whether that just be for a drink or for food.

This place has a really nice atmosphere. We went in on an early Friday evening, it was busy but still plenty of seats. I had the chicken shawarma bowl and my husband had the chicken parmo, the portion sizes are MASSIVE!! In most pubs when you get large portions it’s all mainly chips with bland substandard ingredients, it is not the case here. The food was fresh hot and very tasty, we will definitely be back. Maybe they could offer half portions, because there was a lot of food wasted, we just couldn’t eat it all !!

Went in here on spec on our way to the stadium of light for a concert it was very busy but they had catered well for the extra customers and had lots of staff and a reduced menu so we were served quickly. I had katsu curry and fries it was fab my husband had the burger bites and was so happy not to be faced with a huge stack in a brioche bun but all the elements were there. Staff were efficient but warm and welcoming well done especially to the guy who set us on our way to the venue and wished us a good night.

Wonderful evening, great food with huge portions all washed down with an excellent range of Margarita cocktails. Service was first class and the price was very reasonable, would definitely visit again.

Nice place to sit very comfortable and the food was amazing, good portions. We had a parmo which was lush. Ot was that much we could of shared one. Highly recommend

all was going well until they mis charged us and then blamed us for it, tracked us down to the train station and dragged us back to the restaurant to pay the rest. it was not our fault. ridiculous. no respect in this restaurant . do not go

Do not go here unless you want to be oyshcially and verbally abused by the staff !! The men who work here are awful they mis charged me for my drink I didn’t realise the waiter took the wrong payment and waiter found me at local train stop and physically dragged off my train although I offered to pay him the rest that he had mistyped on the card machine. Completely his error not mine spoke to me really bad comepltely obscure that he tracked me down and made me miss my train home to Newcastle avoid at all costs !!!!!

Staff are always so friendly and helpful, food is delicious, wish they’d bring back the pulled pork flatbread as that was particularly amazing! So happy we are allowed back to our favourite place!

This happened today 17th of April around 11am.Traveled hundred miles from home, standing outside 20minutes in a queue we have experienced highly unpleasant greeting - smart dress code required and disappointing attitude towards us. Before approaching pub we took our time carefully choose place to eat so there would not be time waste coming and having lunch on this difficult to all pandemic times and there were nowhere stated regarding dress code - smart. We strongly believe person working on a front door picked the cherry who let in and who not. He also was impolite. Also we have noticed other clients been sited in the pub, which is against COVID-19 rule - pubs in England can now open for customers seated outdoors - with people only allowed indoors to use the toilet.

Visited Port Of Call with several companions and was seated on the downstairs terraced area. Majority of the Staff were pleasant and courteous. Food and drinks were of a high quality - value for money! Minor delays to service which is to be expected considering this was the second day of been reopen to the public after several months closed. Some of the glasses were somewhat unclean (could be water marks maybe??). However, the drinks could be decantered into the spare previously used glasses we had on the table so it didn't ruin the experience at all.Would return again.

Me my wife and family visited 17/08/20 were greeted by friendly staff and Covid details were taken. And seated upstairs for drinks while waiting for our table. This happened quite quickly despite the place being extremely busy but socially distanced. The staff never stopped and were exceptionally professional we were really impressed. Food order was taken and we were advised of timescale due to how busy they were but food arrived quite quickly 4 loaded steak fries and Chinese belly port loaded fries We were not disappointed food was fantastic and well worth the money however we couldn’t eat it all so were supplied boxes to carry the rest home. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone.

Modern/contemporary setting, good size, staff are fast and friendly, reasonable range of ale, lager etc. Fixtures, furnishings decor and cleanliness good throughout. Right next to the metro station and town.

Port of Call is a great place for food and drinks with regular imaginative variations of the menu The staff are lovely and welcoming Highly recommended and close to Park Lane Metro station 5*****

Attended a private event here at the weekend in the tipi! Cool concept and it was a great space for the 100+ people in attendance. The food was ok. Could have been presented better (brought on paper plates) and all looked very beige and a bland. However, the staff were all very friendly, drinks were reasonable and it’s a good location- close to metro and taxi rank.

Met up with a couple of friends and being handy for bus station we regularly choose here. But that’s not the only reason, the food is delicious and red wine gorgeous too, even better when it’s wine down time and only £10.50 a bottle.At this visit I had Cajun chicken on flatbread with the homemade chunky chips - as it was a Wednesday this was on offer and made it great value at only £7.50! There was quite a lot of chicken on top and the whole thing was perfectly cooked.Can’t wait for my next catch up!

We visited for food Monday evening we sat down to decide what to eat before going to order a drink. However we didn’t have to bother a lovely member of staff can and took our drinks order before coming back for our food order. I ordered the gyros with lamb which was fantastic my wife a rare steak that was also amazing we would definitely recommend this place for a meal and would like to praise the staff for all being friendly and approachable.

Visited here today, just decided on 2 sides and a kids meal, decided straightaway,got our coffees nd finished them still not served,waited 25mins for food,although the place was busy,i think we shouldn't have to wait that long, food came,no utensils, first time here was not aware of what to do,food finally came, chicken was gorgeous but potatoes skins were "black" burnt, i ate wat i could then left,no that impressed with service but will try a proper meal next time as bigger meals looked nice

We came here for a few beers and a bite to eat. The surroundings are nice, the beer selection was decent with a good mix of lagers and IPAS and the food menu was varied and reasonably priced. Couldn’t fault the portion sizes. We went for a portion of truffle fries and the quesadillas which were really good! Would recommend it to anyone!

When my food arrived it looked nice but very over cooked, I started to eat my meal as you do to realise the fish was that over cooked I couldn’t get my knife through it, I spoke to a girl at the bar who looked at it took it to the kitchen said nothing and I waited for half an hour with no apology or anything so I again spoke to another bar man explained I had sent my food back because it was over cooked and rock hard he went away came back and said you had half eaten the food. What was I suppose to do look at it. The customer service was appalling no sorry and literally argued I had eaten half the meal. The principle is the fish was rock hard and over cooked into the middle of the fish and too. They argued and only gave me £5 half the cost of the meal because I had eaten half of the meal so they kept arguing, I won’t be returning to this venue as why should I pay £10.50 for meal where you can’t even eat it.DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE.

like to start off this review with a massive thank you to John and Karen and all his staff for making a sad day for our family all the better by being looked after brilliantly.After the funeral of our brother we went back to the Port of Call where we had the bottom floor.The chefs did us proud the food was set out in the tipis and was excellent.There was a good variety and plenty of it,everyone commented how great the food was.The night time turned into a party and a great send off.The staff behind the bar worked hard all day.Plenty of choice with drinks with reasonable prices.Cant thank the owners enough.Would recommend for parties,christening, and funerals superb venue.

The food came out and the first thing out of the servers mouth was “two burgers, I don’t know what they are as the cooks wouldn’t tell me”. How childish! Get a grip, it’s a restaurant bar not a playground. As for the food, the burgers were over cooked, the supposed avocado hardly discernible, and some of the chips raw in the middle and some well over cooked. Disappointing, given the track record of this establishment.

Visited Friday afternoon had drink on upstair terrace. Ideal spot Very friendly staff. Good selection of drinks n reasonably priced Didn't eat here but food looked nice will definitely try

I like this pub but on this visit got a bottle of wine to share with the girls. It was awful. I'm not quite sure what it was but the girl who we spoke to seemed a little offish when we said the wine didn't taste right. She did change our bottle, but can do without the attitude!

Love this place - got to be my favourite bar in Sunderland. Offers excellent beers & quality spirits along with excellent service, outdoor seating and terrace - overall the best venue in town for a quick tipple or maybe three 🤪

Have just visited for evening tea, food very tasty and plentiful. Food was fresh and hot, the only downside was the wait, 40 minutes for Burger chips and chicken on flat bread,

Love the interior of this place, been done so well, food and prices were amazing!! Service was also really good and the drink selection is really good as well as the prices!! Will definitely be back.

Use the Sunderland branch regularly and has become a favourite on nights out, lunchtimes and sundays with the kids. Food is always fresh and tasty but each time we have been we waited a while for the food. We've come to accept this now as its all freshly made and just give ourselves extra time to visit. Staff always lovely and ready to serve. Great menu and drink selection.

Visited POC in Seaham after seeing the menu on Facebook. Arrived and received a friendly greeting by 2 members of staff. The server took our drink orders and gave us the menu to peruse. Drinks were brought over after a few minutes and were nice, however not very hot. Ordered the breakfast flat bread and breakfast muffin (see pics). Did take a long time to arrive, about 20 minutes.... Thought was strange as was quiet. Very tasty, but my flatbread was quite thick so didn’t finish. I like my flatbread thin and crispy. The staff were very relaxed and we found it difficult to get their attention when wanting to order more drinks. 2 of them were standing at the bar, with one sitting on a stool. Appreciate that it was quiet and they had time to chat, but would’ve preferred some attention to the customers dining (there was only 6 people eating). I would return though, as food was nice.

Stopped off for a afternoon bite, was the first time at this restuarant. Staff were extremely friendly, nothing was ever a problem. Food was fantastic, great portion sizes and full of flavour. Will definitely be back next time I am in Sunderland.

Visited port of call in seaham for breakfast. We had the steak and eggs which was very good although the eggs could have been cooked a bit more. The steak was so tasty. Also very good coffee and friendly service.

This is a favourite of ours... The chef here is keen to show off his skills ...dishes from around the world the burgers are a favourite with my son ... I however prefer chicken katsui or the incredible fish and chips !!! A little bit of a wait but worth it .

Orders the heat and meat loaded fries. It was very nice, being a chilli head it was a bit tame but full of flavour none the less. My wife ordered the king prawn skewers, which looked and smelled fantastic. I didn't get the chance to taste them. Both servings are big and could fill anyone. The staff, both bar and floor were friendly and helpful.

We ordered loaded fries which were nice enough but we also ordered halloumi Fries which when they came there was 3 on the plate and they were cold. We also ordered flat bread and hummus from the ‘small plate’ section....small plate is an understatement. Staff and service were good, nice ambiance inside too

We’d been told about the loaded fries before we came and since I don’t read menus properly ended up ordering more food than we’d anticipated. Everything was cooked to perfection! The staff were friendly and courteous, I couldn’t recommend this place more. The steak sandwich is to die for

Last Saturday evening and into Sunday morning my daughter had her Engagement party here. All good and bar staff great but the food was so poor. Very little of it to cater for the number of guests and the sandwiches were dry and the hot food tepid at best. Didn't want to spoil things for her on what was her special night so let it go. Later on the Sunday lots of people contacted and said the food was so poor and myself and my daughter went to Port of Call to give feedback on what was otherwise a fab evening. Spoke to a lovely lass who assured us the feedback would be taken on board and the owner would respond that day. The owner did not respond and we waited. Finally got a response today but again not from the owner saying the owner says we should have complained on the night. This suggests to me that the owner does not believe our experience and how can you complain when there is a party with DJ music blasting and not wanting to spoil the occasion for family members? Well over £1200 pound spent to Port of Call on drinks only on the night, full value to the staff but communication from owners and responsibilty absolute joke. This was not like returning a cold burger at the time of serving, it was a full family experience and you should be aware of this. Very poor customer service from the owner. At least you have staff who have the gift of communication though.

Waited 1 hour 10 mins for 2 sandwiches 1 came Cold and 1 wasn’t to order. No check back on food and we asked for a refund on deserts as we simply didn’t have the time to wait and it turned out 30 mins after we asked for deserts they hadn’t started them. Bad service and staff were clueless

Had brunch at Seaham’s Port of call was the best, fresh and beautiful highly recommend will definitely be back. Got there a little early as did not know opened until 10am and the young lad who’s name I did unfortunately not get opened up to let us in, fantastic service

My 2 friends and I came 14/11/18 and ordered cocktails and food, food was amazing, staff were funny and attentive creating a good atmosphere, shift manager (male, green checked shirt, name unknown sorry mate) was attentive and eager to please, Alexander was our server and took our order quickly and nothing seemed any trouble for him. Thanks to both of you. Will certainly be back.

Went to Seaham to see Tommy everywhere was busy for coffees so visited the port of call from outside it’s a bit difficult to see its open but it was / lovely place only had coffee but menu looked inviting . The staff were friendly and chatty toilets very modern and nice out garden area for better weather .

Visited with hubby and son before going to a gig. Food hot and tasty, especially love the coleslaw in this place. Have been quite a few times, staff always friendly, a nice place to visit!

I've enjoyed this restaurant several times over the last couple of months. The food isn't standard pub grub-it's got a twist on most dishes and there is something for everyone. You can tell it's quality food and that most of it is hand prepared. The buttermilk chicken is actually battered by the chef's-it's noticeable-not frozen. The seasoning on most of the dishes is good and there is a lot of choice on the menu for people whether you like the more adventurous or less so. There are still plenty of things I'd like to try and they also offer value deals throughout the week for people that work in the city centre in regards to faster lunch options. I'd definitely recommend to give it a try if you like various types of food and somewhere chilled out to enjoy a drink also.

Was here with two friends on a Saturday early evening. Ordered a flatbread and sweet potato fries - the flatbread was burnt and the wrong fries came but were replaced straight away away as another table had got mine by mistake - no problem these things happen but they were cold and so was my friends fries

Food was amazing, the loaded chips where delicious, the chicken n chorizo flat bread was beautiful....defo return!!

We visited for restaurant week although it was a limited menu due to this we still found food that we liked we both had king prawn pakora for starters they were small but very tasty then a a main we had salmon fillet in noodles and peri peri chicken plate both were excellent and value for money the peri peri chicken was to much for me to finish I think either salad or rice would be enough not both but again very tasty staff were very attentive and made sure we were looked after I hope the young lads leg gets better soon overall we will definitely be going back

As the title says, we were told there was an hour wait on food. The place didn't seem that busy at all.... It's nice enough inside. The staff were OK. Not sure we'd return.

This place has not long been changed hands to the Port of call and it’s really nice.

We were staying overnight in Sunderland to see a show at the Empire and found this place whilst wandering around. We had the Sunday lunch which was really nice! The other food we saw others ordering looked really nice too.

Amazing food and experience. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and happy. Was very quiet when we visited but the food was amazing. The dirty fries with steak ( can't remember the correct name) was very nice and the steak was cooked to perfection. Well done.

Been here many times, but was very disappointed with the portion size on our latest visit. Had a taste of the lamb burger and that was definitely a wiser choice. I must say the staff are absolutely top drawer.

After watching the whole of the world cup in sunderlands port of call pub i arrived to watch sunderlands match with scunthorpe only to be told i carnt get in because im wearing "sports" shorts...so a sports bar wont let u in because your wearing sports clothing..weird or what..

Called in for some food for tea. Ordered the American burger. Nicely presented. Could have done with more cheese. A bit on the expensive side for burger chips and a beer though. Nice venue.

Food was really tasty, i got buttermilk chicken burger which was fresh chicken breast, chips very tasty and colslaw was nice, good size and very good price about £8 i think. Macaroni cheese is only 2.50 and a big portion and beers and wines are lovely very good selection. Service great everyone is friendly. Will go back.

Been coming here for about 2 years now and they never disappoint, food options are great (especially the goats cheese burger :-) ) the Yorkshire pudding sandwich for the World Cup special is also really nice - some good drink specials and the staff are always brilliant!

we all enjoyed our food here. most of us ordered burgers which were all lovely. lots of choice on the menu and the prices are incredibly cheap. we visited before heading over to the empire theatre as it was nice and handy. the staff were all very pleasant and friendly. would visit again if in the area. only down point was the puddings were a bit of a let down but still overall a great visit!

Husband and myself came tonight, it was quite quiet for a bank holiday, lad at bar was very friendly and attentive when he took our order, we waiting 40 mins for food to arrive which considering it was so quiet was a bit of a shock, chips were very over cooked (almost black) flat bread was very crispy & almost broke my teeth, topping was really nice though ( pulled pork) even though they’d ran out of cheese stated on menu, hubby had fish & chips, also dry & over cooked, wouldn’t rush back.

Went here for lunch and overall it was disappointing. I ordered roast beef which despite the menu ‘warning’ it was served pink, was a well done piece of steak. The vegetables were over cooked, they had no mash as there had been a problem and everything was really heavily seasoned. We waited around 45 minutes (enough time to make some mash) and everything was just dry and tasted over cooked. We left quite a lot and nobody questioned this. Serving staff were quite inexperienced and also I prefer drinks to be brought to the table, just a preference. Wouldn’t go again there’s lots of other places much better quality and value for money.

I ordered lunch Waited over 45minutes. When meal arrived chips were stone cold. ! I was offered for them to be replaced but I 1) I didnt have time 2) I had eaten the sandwich Dont think I would eat there again. This was my first visit

I have ate here a couple of times and both times I can't fault the food. The portion sizes are great,choices are good and taste like they have been cooked to order. Very reasonably priced for what you get and always seems busy for food. I will continue to come back here

Stopped off here with the gang for pre wedding drinks 1 hour before our friends wedding. Fantastic atmosphere and staff were great and helped with telling us what the best cocktails were. Place was packed at lunch.

Perhaps you should always stick to fish in a restaurant called Port of call? My supposedly Angus beef was quite stringy though less greasy than the accompanying chips.

Ordered the beef brisket as I did two weeks ago. two weeks ago had brisket lovely coleslaw and served on a wooded board. it was a delightful meal. Not today ....unfortunately. No coleslaw and served on a baking dish???? Also chip just thrown in on the side. When I made my views clear about how dry the brisket was I didn’t really get a response from the young lad but he came back and asked what I ordered then went away then guess what .....nothing. Not good won’t be ordering food here again. Not good response from management if they can’t deal with customer dissatisfaction

Go here pretty regular and never have any problems with the kids getting in.The staff as always are first class and the food is first class at very reasonable prices.Great range of beers and this is a very friendly pub.After just been to pizza hut this place knocks spots off the food they provide.We recently had a christening in the Tipis and all went well great day out by all.Would defintely recommend a visit.

My husband and I went here for a quick lunch a couple of days ago. I ordered from the express lunch menu, he ordered a burger from the normal menu. The staff were very pleasant and there was a good choice of beers. Unfortunately it took almost 40 minutes for the food to arrive! Even more unfortunate was the fact that this was the 3rd chance we'd given the place, after waiting ages the first 2 times too. The food is beautiful, which is why they got a 3rd chance, but we only had a couple of hours to ourselves before collecting our kids from school, and felt this wasted precious time that we don't get often! We did raise the wait with the staff after about 35 minutes, and received an apology, but nothing offered in the way of making it up to us (same as last 2 occasions). Good food is great, but without good service I'm afraid we won't be back.

Been here a few times and the food is always excellent. Tried a few different dishes my favourite so far was the fish and chips served with mushy peas and tartar sauce really tasty. Proper home cooked food. The portion was massive but I managed it all. Nice staff and a good selection of drinks. They do a wine special during the week £8.50 a bottle of decent wine. Port of Call has become my 'go to' place in Sunderland city centre for reliably good food and a decent drink. I visit often with my partner/friends and my particular favourites are the flatbreads and the hanging chicken kebab. Drinks are well priced and good quality and the staff are always friendly.A really decent place in our city!

Came here today with the kids for a quick bite to eat. Great menu with lots of choice. I didn't fancy Sunday lunch so was pleased the full menu was on too. The braised beef brioche was gorgeous. My son said his burger was the best he'd ever had. Great prices too. Will definitely return.

We popped in today to enjoy a Sunday's dinner, we chose to sit upstairs to avoid the crowd as I have a problem with crowds. After we ordered however we were advised that the girl working on this floor was closing the floor for no given reason and that we would be required to move to the ground floor with our drinks. We would be allowed to order our food but it would be for the ground floor and we would have to eat it there, we did not order food. We really should have been advised of this before we ordered our drinks, not happy. Two stars for nice drinks

I was in town on and decided too go for lunch here and I must say the food was great and I would recommend this place too anyone

POC is a hipster-style, modern restaurant with interesting decor and a layout suitable for any size party. The staff are welcoming and friendly, only issue we had was that the waitress forgot to check back with us. Not that we would have had any complaints, the food was to die for. Generous portion sizes, a good selection of dishes and sides, not to mention a very well designed cocktail menu featuring popular favourites and house crafted cocktails. Pricing was reasonable, being roughly £12 a head. The atmosphere was good, with good music and friendly chatter. Unfortunately we were unable to locate the toilets despite the giant sign which seemed to lead us nowhere. Otherwise, a fantastic meal and would definitely recommend.

Called today with my wife for lunch. Food 10/10 Fantastic. Service 10/10. Will definitely be returning soon.Recommended. Best in Sunderand.

I'm sorry to say that my visit here was very short! I wasn't allowed to stay because they didn't like the way I was dressed! I hate this sort of establishment! Clothes do NOT equal behaviour! The decor looked pleasant enough, but I will NEVER set foot in the place again and would suggest nobody else should either! Discrimination is just that!

Visited Port of call today with my partner and new born baby. While arriving at the bar I wasn't welcomed but instead asked "how many drinks are you having"? A little taken back I replied one each. I was then told, that is all you are allowed as company policy states people with "Bairns" are only allowed 1 drink each, this insinuating that we, as well others are bad parents before we even ordered a drink. We certainly didn't come to get drunk, more to enjoy the very rare hot weather only to get insulted. It's a disgusting policy and I for one will not be returning as well as making sure everybody I know is aware of this "company policy". I would suggest not welcoming families at all.

Lovely atmosphare grunge like industrial shique stempunk vibe. Great pub and tasty burgers. Has a great choice of drinks great as a pub and for meal. Would recomend for a groups of friends, spatious but often busy.

I ordered three dishes from the tapas menu for £12. Advertised accompanying dips were unavailable, but this wasn't advised until food was brought out. I wouldn't of ordered them in the first place without the dips.Nevermind, first dish: chicken wings weren't great, couldn't taste the ginger but they were fine. Second dish battered courgettes I believe they were supposed to be. These were absolutely grotesque. They were a soggy mush of uncooked batter. My mam says they were the worst thing she's ever saw being served in a bar. I sent those back and asked for flavoured fries; these weren't nice either, undercooked and covered in what I think was just lots and lots of cumin. Horrible.Third up were the deep fried feta filled olives; these were miniscule and no way could you taste any cheese. Nowhere near even as good as our local lowest priced supermarket version of a stuffed olive. The waiting staff were very good and I felt sorry for them having to serve food of this standard. 50% was deducted from my part of the bill, however even that was a bit of a joke as only 30% of it was up to standard and the dips were missing. Won't ever be back for food. I must say, I didn't leave hungry as I filled myself on my daughter's sweet potato fries which were quite nice. My friend had warned me in advance how mediocre the food was, but given all of the great reviews I didn't believe her. There's a lot of choice in town now so competition is high, there's no need to put up with such low standards.

Managed to have a bad experience despite nice food, nice atmosphere and mostly decent service all because one member of staff chose not to use a notepad for our order and I really don't know why.We got our drinks fine after being sat down to a table and given menus. But when it came to ordering a young lad came over and asked us what we wanted (he had nothing to record the order on so was just remembering it). We said our order (just 2 people) but after I ordered last, he'd forgotten the first order. Fair enough, no big deal, we repeated. A minute later, he came back asking what kind of skewers it was I ordered again... I'd asked for loaded fries. So, we said our order again. He still chose to just remember it.We wait about 45 minutes (in this time not much other food had came out and the bar wasn't that busy anyway) and our food comes. I had been given sweet potato fries which I hadn't requested (but I wasn't going to ask for it to be corrected and wait another half an hour or so) and two sides had been forgotten.We received the sides a few minutes later and the food was good! 4/5* on it's own. Just annoying that this member of staff chose not to care enough to make sure he got the order right. I don't know if this is common practice but I'm sure its fine most of the time however he was clearly struggling so I don't understand why he wouldn't just have written it down.Would return as food is top notch and service from other members of staff was fine. Food did take too long to come out but wouldn't have been too bothered if order had been correct.

Called in for lunch,we chose from the specials menu. Service and surrounding were great-the food was a let down,brioche buns too dry to eat,prawns slightly over cooked and burger wasn't the best quality. We've eaten here a few times before and the food had always been much better-hopefully this was a one off.

Visited today with my mam, guy who served us was great and really friendly (didn't catch his name unfortunately).Had the mozzarella and pesto flatbread to start which was actually amazing. Didn't think mains could be any better but I was wrong! Ordered the goats cheese burger and oh wow it was so good!!! Will definitely be back, great atmosphere and great food! Only really downside was that they didn't have the ingredients for my favourite drink, the screwball. (which I came in especially for!) but the food more than made up for that.

Visited for a friends birthday lunch and have to say the food was beautiful, service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We'd preordered all of our food which did make it easier for such a large group but on arrival we were asked what time we would like food served which was a nice touch and not done in many other places. Most people had the chicken hanging kebabs with a variety of sides and nobody was disappointed. Well done to all at port of call!!!

Great place to eat and drink. Food is really nice with a good menu choice and drinks are reasonably priced.

Where to start, we visited P.O.C a few days ago for the first time since the refurbishment, lovely nautical theme and cheery staff, we had some beautiful cocktails and ordered food from the extensive menu, everything was brilliant but the tapas really shone through, chorizo skewers were very tasty and the courgette frittatas were definitely a favourite, really surprised to see the place so quiet. We will definitely be returning.

Visited for food during the week, Great choice of menu and very good prices. Portions were huge and did not take long to bring out. Chips were amazing! The only downside is the drinks are expensive!
