13 times we've ordered here but Saturday night chicken tikka pizza was amazing nice in hot . And bloody well tasty soo good I put it on facebook and they got another three orders of chicken tikka pizzas to my friends house . And they said it was beautiful too . Keep it up and don't change the recipe and we keep coming be seeing you on Saturday with another order of chicken tikka pizza ...

First time visited, we recently had fish and chips and fish bites and chips. Both were excellent. The large fish and chips could have easily fed 2 people - it was enormous. The fish bites were lovely and crispy - I think better than the fish. The lady serving at lunch-time was lovely and obviously knew her regulars. Keep up the good work!

We ordered chicken Parmesan and a donna wrap Online, The food was delivered one hour after placing the order, and it was cold, The Parmesan had to be microwaved to make it edible and so did the chips, Although the Parmesan was nice after being heated up chips, heated up in the microwave are disgusting, The Donna wrap was also cold But the worst part of the Donna wrap was it was packed with salad and not a great amount of Donna meat, Although I might use them again for collection, I would never pay to have them delivered, Come on Washington Village chippy get your act together with your delivery service

Don't know what has happened here,been going there for a long while & always been really nice,probably good 4* however,visited last week & it was horrible fish I'm sure was not cod as asked for,battery was more like a coating of leather,chips very poor quality,only reason it has a 2* is the staff they are great

Great staff, friendly service, and excellent quality food as always. Be prepared for a little wait at busy times, like Friday evening, as it is very popular.

Fish bites are to die for, Staff are really friendly and fun

Nice fish but why can't they get the batter on the fish crispy, it sticks to the paper when opening//serving, either the oil isn't hot enough, or using the wrong oil, disappointing. Getting just eat orders out are they priority, not customers who have made the effect to go to the shop, actually left the settee.

Good chip shop with a decent menu si,e and you good good portions for the prices. Pizzas really nice if you like deep pan with a lot of cheese. Decent delivery times when you order as well.

Was fantastic however was in last week and was rubbish compared to when I was in a month or so ago.

Tonight we got chips and they were the worst chips we’ve ever had from this shop. Normally they are absolutely lovely. Unfortunately there were loads of black ones and tough ends. We picked quite a few out and binned them before we put them on a plate. Still found loads of black ones. Very disappointed. Hopefully it was a one off sack of rubbish rotten potatoes

Absolutely disgusted spent over £30 got sauces wrong don't mind that but when some of the food comes stone cold it is not acceptable and the chicken was lukewarm. DONT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!!

Beautiful fish and chip I'd just spent 14 in ae and the meal was just what I needed really good service has you get from its sister shops in washington nice girls welcoming I was short of 4 pounds and let me drop it off next day has they could see we where really tired thank you for really nice service

Cod and chips today, fish was cooking when the shop opened, as I arrived, so only had to wait a few minutes. Fast and friendly service. Reasonable prices. The portion of chips was large and fish was called large, i would say it was average size and weight compared to other places. They weren't too greasy considering they just out of the fryer. The batter isn't nice, its thick, floury and tastless, on half of the fish the batter was raw and uncooked underneath the crispy outside. The fish was skinless and had no flavour or taste at all, who knows how long it had been frozen before it was used, I couldn't say for definite that it was cod. Part of the fish was so overcooked or dry, from being frozen, that it was rock hard and inedible, on the skinny end of the tail. Didn't taste like they use beef dripping for cooking, so no flavour to the chips either. The chips were lifted out of the fryer not long before the fish, but they had a kind of leathery skin on them, they were a bit hard too, not crispy or uncooked though. The star of the show was the steeped mushy peas that I had made at home earlier. 😁 Sadly it seems most of the chippys in Washington are no longer any good and I wont be using them again. In future I'll save this kind of treat for when I'm at the coast and can get fresh cod. In Washington these places are now mostly none-traditional fish and chip shops, ran by people who seem to have no idea about good british food or how it should taste. There is only one chip shop in washington that could possibly tell you what boat their fish was caught on, sad really being a few mile from active fishing ports up and down the North east coast from Scarborough to Scotland. When fish and chip shops do use local fresh fish they are very successful, places like colemans in shields and downeys in seaham, who are no more expensive than the chippys in Washington, both been going for decades and you can't get a kebab or pizza in any of them.

Fish was freshly cooked and delicious. The chips were horrible, cold and maybe a little under done, unfortunately not discovered until home and didn't want to ruin the fish by returning to complain. Probably my last visit here.

We have gone to this fish shop for years. It had changed hands but the quality of the fish and chips had always remained very good. The portions are large ....the staff are very pleasant

Despite the wait for kebab, it was well worth it. The wait, obviously becuase of how busy they were was substituted thanks to a bottle of coke.

Ordered chips and kebab for myself took it back home and it fed all 4 of us for supper. Amazing taste and value for money i have and will remain to come here whenever i crave some good chips.

Probably the best chips we have had in months anywhere in town. Not at all greasy or full of small offcuts of potato. 1 packet was enough for both of us.

Started to use The Village Chippy when there was a fire at Donwell Chippy. Never had a bad meal. Fast service and great quality food.

The food is absolutely appalling and the service is crap. Everything about this place is bad and it should be shut down.

So after going to Washington Village chippy... I'm never going back! Nothing wrong with the food.. But they way the staff had a go saying I never give them the £20 then saying it will come out their pocket it's a joke... I give her £20 but seen I had the change for my food so though that will help them out she was counting my change before I said "oh I may have the change" she even said did I give you your £20 back?.. No phone from the store to apologise. :/ not happy (its now been 4 days now!!!)

A great little chippy only a stones throw from the birthplace of the first US President.They do all the usual but they excel at fish n chips.

The speed you get served here is really fast. The food quality is also amazing. The chips are great and so is everything else. Definitely will be back.

This, together with it's sister business, Donwell Chippy, is a place for the best fish and chips. I am a fussy eater and I can't bear fish or chips that are soaked in grease, or soggy chips (usually because of excess grease). Happily, neither are served up here. The fish is a good 'meaty' consistency, and the batter, like the chips are perfectly cooked and dry of any excess grease.

Fancied some chips after a day out. Got fish and chips. The portion of chips fed two of us with plenty to spare. The fish was huge and very tasty - another to add to our places to return to

Probably the freindliest staff in a chip shop, so this makes actually going to pick up your grub a joy. The regular offerings from a fishy.

Just called in for Fish and Chips on our way home after hearing that the Village Chippie has been taken over by Donwell Chippie which we love and we weren't disappointed absolutely lovely and equally as good as their big sister in Donwell. The staff were great and couldn't do enough for us. Can't wait to go back. They just need to get the big takeaway boxes that Donwell shop has, as the fish are so big. Well done Washington Chippe.

I have being going to this chippy for years & it has always being first rate in fact I have recommended it to several people over the years, but new owners have taken over this last week & the standard had really dropped! Main complaint was the batter on the fish rock hard and fish not cooked fully. Don't know what they are using but I do know that beef dripping is generally the best or a decent palm oil. Hopefully this is teething problems May have to look else where in the future

This is the best chippy around an definitely in Washington, the fish are huge and so are the portions.

Says chippy on the front but they do a lot of other things too. Always prompt service and just recently been added to JustEat which makes things even easier. Portions tend to be quite generous.

The Village Chippy is an excellent place, very polite staff, the food, wow! Amazing. I would highly recommend people to come to this Chippy because the customer service is top quality and the staff always interact with their customers, absolutely wonderful!

Really great fish and chips, and I love that you can choose to have your fish battered, lightly battered or not battered at all. Portions are more than generous and for an extra £1 they delivery locally. What's not to like!
