German Doner Kebab in Sunderland

delivery was on time, food was nice, but half the order was missing. it's a massive shame because we love ordering from here too.

bun is very wet. again we dont receive full order. last time we order from GDK

Despite being more expensive to eat out than eat in. Portions seemed smaller. All three sauces per customer when eating in but only one when eating out

Very very small portion. The cost did not certainly met the expectations. Literally 5-6 pieces of donner and 15 fries(counted)!!

Food is very nice only reason it keeps starts on quality but the portion size is a joke . We got a delux box for 2 ( share platter) and the wraps were small but the fries. Wow there were 12 fries in the bottom corner of the bag . Ment for 2 people

Top place great staff and the best wraps.

Having a beef or chicken German style kebab is a different experience to a lamb Turkish style kebab but it was absolutely amazing Served in a "hard" style shell instead of soft tortilla, you would think would make the meal seem heavy but it was actually the opposite. Felt completely full after the meal but but in a comfortable way. Highly recommend

First time ordering. The wrap was lush. didn't like that the cheesy chips were in paper instead of a box because most of the cheese got stuck to the paper but other than that it was lovely.

Fantastic, how I always wanted a kebab to be! kebab meat with salad and garlic sauce in amazing bread, not ‘slopped’ together, put together consistently, boxed in foil, great presentation, with freshly made tasty garlic sauce tub, got the mini hash browns which were perfectly crunchy, great value, outstanding!

I found discovering the menu options tricky one cannot see the menu items on their electronic ordering touch windows. You need to have a look by tapping on the picture to see if there's an explanation and then I couldn't get back so you need to come out and go back in again. I found the staff were not sympathetic to the lost customer who doesn't have a clue how the shop works or what in each menu item. I was disoriented and barked at when I asked for help. The staff had no team for slow movers or those not familiar with how it all worked. I was surprised... Don't get me wrong what I did end up with was fantastic. I loved my meal I love all things German too. And it did have a large trendy crowd in who all looked very pleased to be in there. Which is all good positive stuff.

Oredered 1st time for delivery. Food came within 20 mins. Didnt know what to expect.... its something different... food was AMAZING. TO be honest scrummy . Not greasy . All wrapped neat. Taste was out this world. Will be ordering again weekend THANKS GUYS X

Very small portions, not enough for an adult. Poor quality food. The meat content was like the scraps left over from when I have a proper kebab that I feed to the seagulls. Scrappy and very greasy. Way overpriced for what you get. My nephew only ate half of his and turned his nose up at it . Way overpriced for what you get . You’re basically paying for the rent on the property on the high street and the cost of fitting out the interior not for good food. There was a group of youths being very antisocial, shouting and cursing and the staff didn’t intervene. I’ll never go back, I can’t imagine anyone visiting more than once. The music was awful. Terrible food, horrible ambience.

We love this place! Food is good and not greasy like other places. Everytime we go (and its alot) the food is perfect! Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I cant recomend this place highly enough. If you havent tried GKD then you dont know what your missing! Always an offer on and great value for money.

I ordered for the first time on UberEats and I've never been more impressed by a takeaway! So flavourful! Best donor meat I've ever had and not felt grimy and awful afterwards. Highly recommend the Dorito Doner Burger!!

Came in for dinner for the first time and rhe food was so good. It was hard to finish it all (just the main by itself) and worth the money. Sent a photo to the other half and we both came back in again for on the night. Sorry to the staff or manager serving I was extremely tired but they were super friendly and recommended downloading the app for tons of offers. Will definitely be coming back in again. Bit different to a normal kebab but tasty

Never been there before. The food was really nice, the kebab wasn't greasy at all. The people that worked there seemed a bit miserable. The place was clean enough. Couldn't find anywhere to take my rubbish after the meal, didn't want to leave it on the table but there wasn't a bin to place it in

I recently visited GDK and had a fantastic experience. The staff, particularly Christina and the owner Kamal, were incredibly helpful and attentive. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. I highly recommend GDK for anyone looking for great service and excellent food.

The only downside that I saw was the fact that they don’t offer a selection of just meat whether it be beef chicken or a mixture besides that excellent

My OH told me we needed to go here after having it previously with a friend. We went after day drinks at the Botanist which is ideal as it’s just round the corner. I had the junior meal, which is still a canny size. OH had a mixed box, he was nice and full after. Could do with some forks as there is so much meat in the sandwich, it falls out (first world problems) so you have to scoop with your hands. We were the only people in the shop, which is odd considering it’s super clean and good value. Good drink selection and would return.

I had a wonderful time dining at this establishment with my friends. The vegan wraps were particularly delicious, and everything we ordered was of exceptional quality. Had this amazing experience there with my friends. Everything was so good. The food was awesome, the restaurant was clean and tidy. The atmospheres were nice as well. The staff was amazing, Parikshit, kamal and abhi were really nice. As a vegetarian I would highly recommend their food. They really make the best vegetarian wraps in the city.

My first time getting a beef (not lamb) doner, having been a loyal customer of kebab trucks in Oxford solely for years. The owner briefed me about the differences between the two kinds and swept away my hesitation for new cuisines. It all paid off eventually since it proved to be one of the best kebabs I ever enjoyed. Highly recommended for anyone!!!

Food was incredible (as always). Tastes so fresh and delicious and the delivery driver was lovely. The veggie kebab is my favourite thing as the veggie bites are divine.

I was really looking forward to this, however im rather disappointed. Someone from the shop did ring to say cheesy fries pit of the sharing box would be missing which i was fine with, however everything arrived cold eventhough it was on time and there was a bone in my wrap

Visited this outlet after a visit to the theatre and I was looking forward to it Paid £24 for a box and a wrap . Found the ordering experience at the tablet a struggle as it rocked back and forth like a barn door in the wind. After picking our food and rejecting multiple fillings we sat about waiting for the food to arrive It came quickly but with items missing (crispy rolls) Imagine my surprise when I opened the my wrap only to see it full of fillings I didn’t want to eat When I asked to swap it he told me I would have to pay for another one as he couldn’t sell the one he made me to anyone else???? Lunatics!!! He actually seemed to be enjoying the misfortune I was experiencing Food that I ate, mostly the wife’s, was pretty tasteless and for £24 the portions were very small. The packaging was huge and probably would have tasted better kebab had I chose to eat it. This has to go down as the worst company experience of my life as the manager seemed to have no idea how to treat a customer and was argumentative throughout My advice is do not bother visiting this outlet, there are much better alternatives in Sunderland and with a better attitude

Great food, good size portions, I didn't know how or what to order, but staff were great! explaining the menu without judgement and very patient. The beef and chicken mixed original was delicious and not greasy at all, tasted beautifully fresh, we couldn't finish the meal and received a box and bag to take the rest home with. I will definitely be returning.

first time ordering after hearing some good reviews. the delivery time was spot on. opened the food to plate up and everything was stone cold. we ordered the sharing meal for two, so disappointed. I rang the shop for them to tell me unfortunately it's the drivers fault, apparently it's the way the pack the food in their bags, surely this must be a massive hit to the business if they know that customers are recieving food cold. won't be trying here again unfortunately.
