I liked this place. It’s a local, independent business and I recurved a friendly welcome. Plenty of seating. I had a good coffee. Food (Sandwiches, cakes, etc.) is also available but I didn’t eat.

I meet up with friends most Wednesday mornings and often by myself when in town. The staff are very friendly towards everyone. Good choice of beverages and food. Comfortable seating and nice decor.

No volvería

I found Barista a friendly place to stop and have a coffee and snack. It is a large cafe which I found clean and inviting with welcoming staff. It is basically a coffee shop but serves a range of casual foods too including paninis and jacket potatoes which are freshly cooked and delivered to the table. It is a very reasonably priced cafe and seems ideal for a drink and snack or casual lunch. I would definitely return.

Called in this morning for the first time. Had an Americano and a blueberry muffin Not a lot of flavour in the coffee and sadly the muffin was stodgy and lacked flavour. The decor is ok but not a place to rave about.

Called in for coffee and panini with a business colleague. Excellent quality and quick service. This was surprising as most coffee shops tend to have queues because of fresh preparation. Received the coffee immediately and the panini was brought to our table when cooked. Waitress was a credit to the establishment, smart, pleasant and very helpful. Will become a regular customer

Can only be described as another typical coffee shop in a town centre location. Called in for a quick tea and sandwich Lunch. Choice of Typhoo, PG Tips, Tetley or Yorkshire Teas as well as the usual speciality choice. The bacon. brie with cranberry paninis were tasty, but then it is not very hard to take a pre-prepared item and use a panini or sandwich toaster to warm them up. Teas came in decent sized pots, 2 -3 cup full. Staff pleasant, but had to wait for one of the sandwiches as 'the toaster girl' had not heard the full order.

I have passed this cafe many times but today decided to go in. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. I ordered a tuna melt and tea for one. The tea was lovely and hot and the melt was the best I've had in a long time, plenty of filling. An enjoyable experience thanx to all, will be sure to "pop" in again

How can a cafe that calls itself Barista make such a bad cappuccino? What I got was a watery coffee with a bit of froth on the top. And it was too hot!. If you can't get the basics right you won't get any more of my business.

My parents come here often and I understood why after I went with them. Quick service with a smile, good range of paninis (which were really good!) and cakes - my dad recommends the red velvet to anyone who will listen. All with a good coffee - no complaints here !

Was out shopping in Sunderland , fancied a coffee , stumbled upon this lovely coffee shop called barista , when I walked In I got a warm and friendly reception . I ordered a latte , and a meatball panini, I will say I have been to many coffee shops in Sunderland , but this was the best by far , if I was to rate this cafe I would certainly give it 10 + it was fantastic , the staff could not have been any friendlier.

This place is just really poor. I would normally big up independent coffee shops, but not this one. It lacks atmosphere and interest. The coffee is poor and the staff have the charisma of a damp cloth.

It was a drab, dank and rainy day and after a long drive we needed refreshing. The Barista Cafe [recommended by a Sunderland] was just the ticket. The coffee was lovely; it was strong with a good flavour and made to our requirements. We have a muffin as well - huge, homemade and delicious [unlike those sold by the coffee chains].The staff were friendly and helpful. This is a great place for a coffee break.

Does anyone know if the Riverview brasserie restaurant over at the Stadium of light in Sunderland is still open or not. Because me and my dad are about to go there for a Father's Day lunch out on the 18th June and every time me and my dad kept on phoning them it just ends up with nobody answering the phone. So could someone kindly send me a reply message back and let me know to see if the Riverview brasserie restaurant at the stadium of light in Sunderland to see if it's open or not.

I eat here often as i work locally. I find the choice of food to be varied and look forward to the welcoming smile of the Owners/Staff. I believe this is the best 'Sandwich Shop' in Sunderland and would highly recommend.

Food was good but overpriced. Most upsetting was the time it took for the kitchen to serve us. Waitress was helpful & pleasant but caught in the middle. Either systems poor or need more kitchen staff....waited nearly an hour. Shame because it's a nice place but bit overpriced.

I thought school dinners were bad, but this place tops it with being the worse place I have eaten in. We visited with family for Sunday lunch big mistake. We were sitting not far from the microwave which we heard pinging every few minutes then food was served, food must be plated up and reheated, the veg was practically raw, as for the roasties(potatoes) well these were rock hard u could do some serious damage with these. There is no restaurant or carvery that I have eaten in can do a roastie as good as home, a fresh cooked home roast is so much better and Cheaper I definitely won’t be going back.
