Nice fish and chips, fast service, really good prices, lovely old pub, old village location.

Have been a few times for Sunday lunch, but today was disappointing, I had the pork which was OK, but veg very soggy. Paid £10 for my grandson, to have turkey a couple of spoonfuls of mash (originally missed off) but then brought separately and 3 yorkshire puddings , which are unlimited according to menu, the turkey had a strange taste. I feel this was very good value. My grandson particularly likes going here, but think we will have to look further afield, he was very disappointed.

Lovely pub in a quaint location. Friendly atmosphere with a calm vibe. Perfect for couples or small groups of friends

We went for food and each got fish and chips. Service was friendly and the food was served quickly. Portion size was good. Too full for dessert

Popped in for a light lunch not very busy but lovely and relaxing would definitely recommend really friendly service we will be back

Afternoon catch up . Sat in lounge and unfinished food was left on table for at least 30-45 mins after people left this is not leaving a great impression, pub is NOT busy so staff could have cleared up. This is not the only table that was left with unfinished food on, leaving the impression that A: The food is not great or B: there service at cleaning up isn't up to standard. I'm afraid standards are slipping. Kitchen staff are of course entitled to a a break but then bar staff should step in. Very poor. tables are cleared with no obvious sings of a complete wipe down in accordance with health and safety. I have drank/ate here for many years and I'm a bit gutted about the most recent standard

This pub has everything you could want. Great atmosphere, very friendly people. Amazing staff, dog friendly, history and great pub food. It has a snug, bar, larger room and a large beer garden. We are regulars to this pub as the real ale/wine and choices are phenomenal. Liz, especially is exactly what a village pub needs, friendly, quick and hard working. She makes it her business to get to know you to make you feel welcome.

Been a few times now over the last couple of weeks for food and all meals have been absolutely beautiful. So reasonably priced also. All the staff are so lovely and friendly. Would certainly recommend this pub xx

We love coming here! My partner and I visited for food and drinks on Monday, I had the ultimate chicken tikka masala, he had the 10oz steak; cooked perfectly, and my meal was amazing just so large I couldn’t finish it all! Well worth the money! Two for one cocktails, cheap pints and a really warm and welcoming environment. Thank you to all the staff working for such a wonderful visit once again!

We visited this place as hadn’t booked and tried to get in Over the road but was full. We went in asked for Sunday lunch and was told yes no problem. We ordered drinks and told we can sit at the back (dining room) or in bar area, we chose dining room. We were informed that menus are on the tables however when we got to tables these were bare so I went and asked for menus. I was given two menus got back to table to find wrong menu with no Sunday lunches on, again went back to bar and guy rummaged through a cupboard and gave me the menu. once we decided I went to bar to order and stood and stood a bit more while young man was texting on his phone behind bar. I ordered 2 x triple meats Beef, Pork and Turkey The food arrived quite briskly. Meat, Yorkshire pudding, veg as standard. Veg was old and soggy Broccoli, discoloured Cauliflower and definitely not fresh cabbage , garden peas fresh however not quite cooked. Mash potato bland no seasoning no butter no taste would compare it to smash. Turkey was nice, pork on my plate almost non existent and my partner was yet to find any Beef! All in all bland and tasteless, at one point I did go off to find salt and pepper which I found on the dumb waiter over in the corner. We ate what we could and decided just pay bill and leave. (Not like me) We Went to the bar and a young lady was there with her back to customers playing on phone , she turned and said what can I get ya? Baring in mind 5 tables in whole place! We explained we had eaten and just wanted to pay bill. Then she asked for a key, we didn’t understand that and said we didn’t have one so she giggled. We paid £35 and left disappointed never to visit again. Times are difficult for businesses and I spend my career outlining savings and improvements across different sectors a company can make to be viable and have longevity. I think the first change I would make is ban staff from using mobile phones whilst at work and the second would be to ensure all ingredients are fresh and introduce seasoning to the chef. Pubs are closing on a daily basis and when you can eat better at home they wonder why it is empty. Sunday lunch one of the simplest yet seems most difficult menu to provide at a high standard.

Always a cosy, lovely friendly place to be. All the staff are amazing especially alyshia who always goes that extra mile to ensure high standard service, great upseller we had few shots, great vibes and people to be around. Will definitely keep visiting..Best pub in the village!

Such was my visit I just had to sign up to Trip Advisor so I could give my review. This is a wonderful place, first time we’ve been and will definitely be going back. A lovely atmosphere with incredibly friendly staff (and locals). Every family member said their food was lovely, I had the All Day Breakfast and it was outstanding! Perfectly cooked and everything was so tasty. The best breakfast I’ve had, hands down. If I lived close enough I would be proud to call this my local.

Food was amazing I had the fish and chips it was beautiful my friend had the mixed grill and she thoroughly enjoyed it. For drinks we went for the buy one get one free aperol spritz. The new manager Lindsey is lovely and made us feel very welcome we’ll definitely be back soon

I love my local pub! the staff are so friendly and the January sale is amazing one suggestion is maybe get the fires working

Mixed grill was lovely, beer is a good price and now dogs are allowed in its going to be more visits from me.

Lovely pub with friendly staff and a great range of drinks

Came in on Derby day with our friends, pub was at its busiest with great staff, could watch the sport on multiple screens so decided to have food. Food was cooked to perfection amazing picky bits with the staff providing service second to none. Getting drinks was quick, staff informative about different cocktails, and an amazing atmosphere. Great day but you get the same every time you visit - never a bad word to say.

Food was delicious we had the fish and chips. All January they have a deal on Monday to Thursday certain meals for £5 and certain drinks for £3 cocktails still buy one get one free. Staff are lovely will definitely be back

Having visited this pub for Sunday lunch a few times, I was expecting great things again - what happened? Still tasty, but mean portions - I was still hungry afterwards which is a first for me. Hopefully a blip!

So disappointed tonight. Havnt been here for quite sometime. Had recommended this pub to a friend for her birthday as have not been disappointed before with food or service. Tonight was different. Maybe because we didn't go till 7 but that should not be an excuse. Food order was wrong and the woman serving it was rather rude it was as if our fault. The food was like it was the dregs at end of the day. One of our party ordered the curry she didn't even get her rice and the amount of curry in the bowl wasn't even half. Such a shame and very disappointing. Heard people on table over from us who also got incorrect order. Shocking really 😑

Really lovely meal. Scampi was yummy, kids meals of burgers and sausages were also excellent value for money. The chocolate fudge cake was delicious. Definitely keeping this place on my checklist as places to go out and eat when I'm up North.

I can't praise the Arms enough for the wonderful afternoon we spent there for our Christmas get together. The welcome was warm and friendly, the staff were wonderful, checking on our requests constantly, but the food.... the food was delicious! We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. Staff rude, unable to get orders right... as for the general manager Wendy! Think she needs to go back and have some training on customer service. Very sad as this pub had potential however staff need training.
