Good little cafe wt options from breakfast through lunch. Small range of options but all freshly prepared. Recommend the home made a ham broth, it's vet filling but well worth trying. Good choice of sandwiches and cakes for everyone palate.

I'm on record as having said on many occasions that if they awarded PhDs for scone-tasting, I should have a dozen. I've eaten scones in venues from the Orkney Islands to Australia and written about them in more publications than I could possibly remember. So, you can take my word for it that the freshly-baked, home-made scones (with butter and strawberry jam) at No.6 are quite possibly the best I've tasted in recent years. Cafe No 6 is a quaint place with a very atmospheric first-floor eating area, a delightful owner and staff who look like they are actually enjoying the job they do. My wife and I were just as impressed with the special 'doggy menu' on offer. We shall be back!

Poor menu choices.prawn cocktail thrown together with tiny shrimps.Pie ok but no better than Greg’s chicken bake. The Angel lager was branded stuff worse than foster’s. The waiting staff nice enough but simply plate carriers.Portion of chips added to the pie was measly with about 6 good chips with the rest looked liked been in the hold for hours. This used to be a great pub food outlet moving to bistro level food.

My wife and I stayed one night at The Dyvels in September 2024 while exploring Hadrians Wall on our way back to York. We were both really pleasantly surprised by how charming the Inn is. Corbridge is a lovely little town with, obviously, ancient history. None of that charm has been lost gladly. Dyvels is a small cozy pub with 5 lodging rooms and a tranquil garden, but the best part was the food which was WAY better than a small pub in a small Northumbrian town has any business being. We had dinner, fish n chips for me, and a chicken dish for Mrs M. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, but with such incredible flavour. It was bone fide fancy restaurant quality, not pub grub. Full Northumbrian breakfast next morning was huge, tasty and set us up proper for a long drive. It was a really quiet Wednesday when we were there. No other lodging guests and a small handful of locals in the pub, so service was super quick. It was really quiet and relaxing, enjoying the fresh air dining out in the garden. Had a little chat with the bar staff. Very friendly, but not particularly talkative; shame as I always like to chat with locals when travelling to get a sense of life in another part of the world. Our room was really spacious and comfortable. Slept really well in the big soft bed with loads of pillows. Window opened over the garden and sports fields beyond, so a really pretty view. Bathroom was clean and everything worked. Lots of plugs to recharge our devices. For the price it was really good. Overall I'm really glad we chose to stop at Dyvels Inn and Corbridge. It's a fantastic little corner of our brilliant little island. I'd love to spend more time here. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys history, good food, fresh air and the tranquility of wide open spaces.

We called on Saturday for lunch after a hospital appointment at Hexham. This was our first visit after the refurbishment. We went straight to the restaurant for lunch and were shown to a table by a very nice girl who was polite and friendly. Once sat down I was instantly alerted to the noise and chairs moving over the polished concrete floor which had food debris lying all over it, under tables and walked into the floor. Our meal came fairly quickly and was thoroughly good, baked potato with coronation chicken and salad, cheese and pickle sandwich with salad and chips, two soft drinks came to £29 which was reasonable for the quality of the food. What let the whole experience down was the noise and mess. The table next to us had just been vacated when we arrived, there were two highchairs and food everywhere, all over the highchairs, the floor, drink spilled on the table and floor, the young staff seemed to keep avoiding it, one of which was turning her nose up at it, the table took the whole duration of our meal to eventually look presentable again, but the floor wasn't swept underneath, if I was offered that table to sit at, I would've refused. The young staff would benefit from proper training especially in turning a table around for the next customers. I would certainly think twice before returning for a meal on a busy weekend, possibly better on a week day? I was contemplating bringing my mum for her 80th birthday in June, to meet relations from Cumbria but she'd never be able to hold a proper conversation due to the noise, so we will need to find somewhere else, which is a shame. The farm shop, on the other hand, was full of produce although a bit higgledy piggledy and hard to find things but we bought a few items, including the lovely home made sausages and black pudding.

Worse battered fish I ever had in my life - used to be good a year or so ago and the chips were really nice, but now chips are barely cooked and the fish and batter is sloppy - mushy peas are runny and gravy is like the skin that forms on top of gravy. I don’t know how they make it so bad. Good luck eating anything from here.

Appalling service, takes at least 20 minutes to get your drinks as staff prioritise drive through customers. Staff have no customer care skills and are on a go slow. Avoid the place!
