Lovely bakers, patisserie fare looks marvellous looking in and tastes excellent. The price is good considering the work in each cake and as we are from Suffolk it was better than the 2 magpies bakery. Treat yourself

Came highly recommended and was told to try the chicken tikka pie which i did and it was outstanding.We also bought 2 banoffee cakes and some shortbread biscuits.

Working in Corbridge today needed some lunch only bakery in the town looked really good, we bought 2 steak pies and 2 Northumberland pasties which cost £3.99 each (well over priced) the steak pie had very little steak inside and a lot of gravy and the pasties were filled with a liquidised mush with very little taste. We were working in Alnwick last week and visited Turnbull’s and bought some pies at a £2.60 which were full of steak and a little gravy a different class to Grants offering. I live in Whitley bay and we have a butcher’s called Nicholson’s again a steak pie £2.80 again a different class ( it has meet in it ) Asda also do a Dow’s Cornish pasties £1.60 which makes the Grants Northumberland pasties a joke. Asda £2.40 cheaper and my god a 100% better tasting. I can not comment on any of the cakes they looked good but at around £4.00 each I won’t be buying any on the point of being disappointed. A small pork sandwich and I mean small was £6.50 everything in the shop was overpriced and in our case today tasteless. Bottom line we will not be lying there pocket again and if your wise avoid and take a packed lunch.

Wow. Just looking in the window was a treat. What a great variety of delicious baked goods to choose from and apparently in June 2024 they are offering a place to sit too. We got take away sausage rolls coffee and cake and thoroughly enjoyed it all.

Gorgeous cakes. My husband is Belgian and misses the beautiful patisseries there. Grants cakes today _ finally found Belgian quality cakes in the UK. Coffee was pretty good too.

Unbelievably rude and disrespectful staff when asked about allergens in the food. They printed off a long list of every allergen under the sun and said these all could be in we don’t know!! I’m sure legally they need to know what actual ingredients are in a particular cake especially as they claim to make them onsite! It was very embarrassing for my daughter.

Enjoyed a beautiful savoury tart, savoury filled hot cross bun and fantastic cakes. Seem to be late to the party here with queues out the door. Definitely find a reason to return

Some of the best desserts and pastries we've ever tried. Taste every bit as good as they look and they look incredible. I wish we had a bakery like this in our town. The queue was completely understandable but quickly dealt with by the 3 ladies inside. A credit to the business, they were polite, helpful and efficient. My only disappointment is I didn't buy more.

We like to drive around looking for good food. We normally go to the riverview bakery at blackball mill. We drove from Newcastle to get cakes from Grants today. We got a selection of cakes and a sausage roll, and out of 5 cakes, only 2 people enjoyed. My partner did say his sausage roll was the best he’s ever had, though. Cakes tasted stale and the cheesecake just didn’t taste very nice.

The window display drew us in with the amazing range and presentation of deserts and other treats. This is a phenomenal bakery in such an of the trail location. I dare you to pass without buying!

Genuinely the largest scone I've ever seen came from.here and a meringue the size of a childs head. It can leave you drooling at the window and for that it's a five star however it also does coffee, that you will need after a cake, and it wasn't very good.mayne I'm just a bit spoilt with coffee but I was expecting a good coffee to match the cakes. However highly recommend anyone to go to see the cakes alone They don't so anything item free though.

First time here and we were impressed. All the cakes and savouries look gorgeous. We got the carrot cake, american brownie and choc éclair and they were amazing. Carrot cake was the best. Gorgeous little town too. Been telling the family all about grants, Will definitely be back.

Friendly , helpful Staff. Superb choice of food, especially, the Northumberland Pasties but the Strawberry Tarts are amazing. Have to mention that Mollie makes the best Cappuccino in Northumberland. (Sorry Staff, but she does!!!!!!)

I’ve tried shopping here a few times but always come up against the same issue. I have an allergy, and rather than show me a list of ingredients, they just print off a massive list of allergens and say these are all potentially in the food. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to see a list of ingredients, even if they do go on to make some pathetic claim about how literally anything may have found it’s way in to the food. Poor customer service, lack of inclusivity.

Yesterday I went to Grants to try it out and I thought that the staff were incredibly friendly and make you feel welcoming. When I had my lunch I think it's one the best lunches that I had ever purchase it beats lot of takeout in Northumberland. My lunch was a chicken pie with cherry almond bake and it's absolutely delicious. Finally I am fully recommending that if you are in Northumberland or near Corbridge is to visit this fantastic place you will not be disappointed.

We visited Grants whilst staying in Corbridge over Easter weekend. The bakery was absolutely phenomenal. Totally delicious and well presented cakes and so much choice. Sandwiches, pastries, cakes to cater for every appetite. I wouldn’t hesitate to visit Grants again, if only calories didn’t exist!

OMG the array of delicious looking cakes and pastries just blows your mind. Expensive yes delicious yes. Found by chance walking through couldn’t resist popped in 3 times during our stay near by. Will defend return on our next visit.

This is a lovely looking shop with great looking cakes. Unfortunately due to the ridiculously high prices we didn’t get to sample much and just went for the tiny (5-6inch) Victoria Sponge (£5.99). £3.50 for a small Bakewell slice, £4.50 for a Bakewell tart (single size). I expect to pay a bit more at these sort of places but not quite this much. On a positive note though the Victoria sponge was delicious.

Is it expensive? Yes. Is it delicious? Yes, yes, YES!! We decided upon Grant's for lunch after visiting the nearby Roman ruins. It was a lovely day so perfect for an al fresco lunch on a nearby bench. I had a warmed Cumberland sausage roll, and the husband had a pasty. Both were tasty and just what we needed. We also had two giant cinnamon rolls for later, and they were so, so good. We enjoyed the food so much, we visited again on two more occasions that same week to try some other delights (and get more cinnamon rolls!), including the Halloween cupcakes. I also really loved that the shop was decked out in halloween decorations - it's my favourite time of year.

Very disappointed with the quality of the millionaire’s shortcake. Caramel was virtually non existent and chocolate tasted very cheap.

They have a selection of sweet and savoury options. We ordered the grant florentines, brownies and a few macaroons. I’ve never had such an awful tasting chocolate brownie, it had a random after eight mint on top, it wasn’t gooey but dry. Such a disappointment....

Was in Corbridge for a week. We are regular visitors and use Grants a fair bit. Quality of produce is amazing from breakfast rolls to amazing pastries and cakes. Very friendly and patient staff and open7 days give it a try!

Came here twice. Really nice corner spot, lovely display of pastries and cakes, top level retailing tbf. We asked what their vegan options were as we cant eat milk or egg without being very I'll. They said NO. No chat or sorry or we'll see...

Lovely shop - excellent tarts - very poor pies. The tarts were lovely but the chicken curry pie had only one small piece of chicken in but on a positive note the sauce was nice. lol. mmmmm

The lemon meringue was simply amazing. Fabulous. Alas the custard tarts were a huge disappointment. They looked so good but tasted more eggy than custardy and lacked sweetness. Wish we had doubled up on lemon meringues.

Corbridge has so much to offer that it is a must visit if you are in the area. If you need a specific reason to come however - Grants bakery is it. The selection of cakes, tarts and other sweet goods is superb. Add the fact that their pastries and savoury goods are top class and this bakery is as good as it gets.

Bought lots of pastries and cakes for a picnic ... absolutely fantastic. Worth the price - would highly recommend the Ham and Egg pie .. and their battenburg is second to none. We stumbled upon it by chance whilst exploring Northumbria and we are only sad we don’t live closer by!

Use this place every week - it's superb. Freshly baked bread etc. Its made my move to Corbridge worthwhile :-)

On a short visit to our daughter who is moving to the area we walked past Grants and the display in the window caught my eye! The cherry frangipanes and huge French meringues looked incredible. My husband said it looked like Betty’s in Harrogate - my favourite tearooms. He popped in the shop as did my older daughter. They both came out with bags and boxes! After driving home tonight we have eaten the most delicious quiche lorraine ever plus the egg and bacon pie. I felt full but my husband then produced the cherry frangipane. It is amazing! The cherry on the top is literally just that! For tomorrow we apparently have a raspberry and white chocolate loaf cake to sample. My daughter bought sausage rolls and a cherry frangipane and black forest cheesecake slice - she says they’re all amazing. We will no doubt be visiting every time we come to Northumberland. Thank you - in these strange times it is so lovely to find somewhere so fantastic with cakes to cheer us up!

Great selection of sweet and savoury pastries.Always well presented and packaged nicely.The raspberry and white chocolate flapjack is just something else. We have only tried a limited range of the products since we have favourites but what we’ve had was delicious. The items are, at first glance, quite pricey but the cakes are huge so actually very good value.

We ordered afternoon teas from grants to celebrate a friends birthday. They looked amazing on the photos and did not disappoint The cream scones were to die for and the pies and cakes Devine. It made the day special and we were very impressed with the service. I was able to collect at the time I had requested the staff were very helpful and friendly. Value for money was great Would definitely recommend.

I visited here with my mum to get some takeway cakes. Neither of us had been before. There is no dedicated parking but it is in the centre of the town and easy to access. We visited at the beginning of the Corona issues but before the lockdown began. I was up North visiting my mum on my one visit of the year and had decided to cut the trip short because of Corona and rumblings that the situation was going to get worse so this was our last day together before I left. I wanted to trat my mum, her husband and myself to a cake at home in the evening so chose this place because the cakes looked lovely. The girl behind the counter asked if we were ready to be served. I started asking for my order "2 two lemon meringue........", but the server had begun listening in to a conversation between another customer and her colleague about the dog of the customer and didn't even register she'd heard me speak. We just stood there and she eventually turned her head back to me and said "Are you ready?", like she hadn't even heard me begin my order the first time around and was abrupt like she had been the one waiting on us!!I again told her what I wanted "two lemon meringue tarts and a posh custard tart, please". She began listening in to her colleague again but at least started preparing our order, asking me if it was okay for them to be in the same box, which I agreed was fine. My mum and I were looking at each other in amazement at how rude this server had been and were talking to each other about it so didn't watch her put the order together. The box was then sealed with a sticker.We were charged the correct amount for the three cakes we requested. This wasn't cheap, but the cakes looked nice and I wanted to treat my family. After tea that night, my mum went to the kitchen to bring us our cakes. When she opened the box, there were not three cakes as we had ordered AND PAID FOR. There were only two. And the two that were in there were fruit meringue sandwiches with fresh whipped cream, so not even the two lemon meringues that I'd ordered alongside my posh custard tart!I don't like fruit meringues so my mum and her husband ate them. Both of them said that they weren't even that nice after all of that. I didn't get a dessert for my last night in Cumbria for another year. The staff member was rude. We had paid for cakes that weren't supplied to us. The order was completely wrong. I won't be returning here and your staff need a lesson in manners, listening skills and customer service.

We called in before we left for home, to take some cakes and pasties back, they were delicious, we loved your bakery, go you will not be disappointed.

This is a very nice shop situated in the centre of the delightful little town of Corbridge. In addition to the fresh breads, they have an excellent range of savoury products and lovely looking cakes. We couldn’t resist the thick wedges of corned beef and potato pie, so treated ourselves to an al fresco takeaway lunch in the Market Square. And it was delicious!

What a gem to find just down the road from the place we were staying. Beautifully presented patisserie. We shopped there most mornings. There was only one negative point which was that the croissants we purchased one morning were a bit stale. Otherwise, though, the food was fantastic.

While taking a break on the home we stopped in Corbridge and discovered this bakery. Wow, amazing breads, pies and cakes... They are all delicious. I would visit here anytime if I was in the area.

It is virtually impossible to walk by Grants window and not pop in. They always have a wide range of mouth watering cakes, savouries and breads in stock. I love trying the little sample items on the counter and not surprisingly often end up buying some extra items that I hadn’t planned to purchase!! Add to that the friendliness of the staff and you appreciate why Grants is one of those businesses that makes you feel blessed living in the village. It is a real gem and I can’t commend it too highly.

On the corner of middle Street in the centre of Corbridge is this gorgeous bakery. We visited here on a busy Sunday afternoon, a little pricey but worth a treat.

I simply can not get enough of this place. The cakes, scones and pastries are to die for. The whole Victoria sandwich cake is the best I've ever tasted. They always have samples to try on the counter and they're always delicious. I usually go for the sausage rolls and mars bar crispy cake.

What an experience this cake shop is, always queuing and no wonder the samples on the counter are generous and they don't mind how many you sample.

Goods are on the expensive side generally but they are delicious! Everything on display is a feast for the eyes. Samples are on the counter and worth a taste before buying but beware, they are so good you could be tempted to make an impulsive purchase! They sell hot baked goods too.

Whenever we visit Corbridge we have to visit Grants as the cakes are amazing. With a wide range of breads, quiches, and cakes if you have a sweet tooth you will be in heaven. Lovely for the odd treat.

Since discovering this amazing artisan bakery last year we have visited several times. We travel from Cumbria because it lacks decent bakeries and we miss proper cakes. Always a different selection of pies, quiches and cakes to choose from on each visit. The shop display is a visual treat in itself. Place always seems busy. No wonder!

A bit like Patisserie Valerie cakeshop/bakers on a smaller scale, also do a lot of nice pastries and pies etc... But cakes looked to die for if you would do such a thing, nice friendly girls serving, the wife couldn't resist a mahoosive Meringue £4 mind but a treat I suppose.

This bakery is not to be missed when in Corbridge! Every item I've ever bought has been first class but my absolute favourite is their corned beef pie - it's to die for! We live in Scotland and cannot get it in our area so I buy several pieces just before we are coming home and freeze them....still delicious when defrosted and reheated!

This is a lovely bakery with an array of beautiful home cooked produce. Recently I have had the lovely meringue which had to be eaten at home as it just crumbled but melted in your mouth. The strawberry tarts are lovely but would be nice with a bit of fresh cream piped on the top. The bread is very good and the quiches are lovely. I have also purchased the big rugby ball shaped meringues to make a dessert with and can thoroughly recommend them. The staff are always a pleasure very friendly and helpful.

Having visited it several times in 2 years (coming from Vienna, a city well known and tested for cakes), and never passing old Corbridge without coming here, this is a truly delightful bakery that leaves - to us - franchises, brands and international chains a long way behind. Presentation is absolutely excellent; a feast of colours, shapes and sizes, as well as studded concoctions (with such quaint names) that would enthrall any hardened sweet tooth! Produce is freshly baked daily nearby. We enjoyed several "pound" cakes and a couple of cherry/pistachio tarts and woefully left the huge meringues due to sweet thresholds being reached (no eating-in option as the shop is small but that's fine)! There is a sumptuous quiche section now to try next time. A real treat of a bakery more out of a Harry Potter scene, with tasty goodies that change; prices (mostly under 5 pounds) are very reasonable (-certainly much cheaper and more appealing than in Viennese bakeries we have eaten at over 30 years). Highly recommend this "one of a kind" English bakery and commend the creative and yummy hard work behind it! We had very homely service too, a northern speciality...

A selection of lovely cakes,not necessarily found in your average bakery! not the cheapest, but certainly worth a treat. Bread buns were lovely too but raspberry scones were a let down hence the 4 star instead of 5. Would return again if I was in the area.

I bought two sausage rolls which were quite good and inexpensive, a snowball with a delicious filling but the outside tasted, to me, like chocolate substitute, a slice of corn beef and potato pie which I enjoyed, a meringue that was inedible, the outside just grumbled and powered and there was a sticky blob in the middle - perhaps I got a rogue one and a Victoria sponge which was delicious. I think it all came to about £17 which would have been fine if everything had tasted as good as it looked. My friend bought a few items and enjoyed them. Nice staff.

Grants have a fantastic range of cakes to suit everybody. They also have pies and quiches which are filled to the brim with amazing fillings. Can't recommend highly enough.

Great sandwiches, quiches and pasties - not forgetting the cakes and other sweet treats. Lovely taste samples which meant we bought more than anticipated - children delighted with the variety; we managed every day during our weeks holiday!

We shop in Grants many times each week. It is difficult to pass by the shop window and not pop in and buy something. The range and quality of cakes is superb plus excellent bread, rolls and coffee to go. The only downside is the effect on the waistline!

This is the best bakery in the town and serves some excellent savoury pastries to enjoy. Also there is a very good selection of cakes and the meringues are a must. They also offer a good selection of breads too !

This was our first stop on our short visit to Corbridge. Lovely fresh cakes and pastries. Wish I could take this bakery home with me. Good value for money.
