I travel to Newcastle once a week and 3 months ago I tried the samosa chaat .... I was passing and it sounded nice.
Wow - just amazing. Since then I've eaten here for my weekly lunch almost every time I've been here. I keep promising myself I'll try something else off the menu - but it's so hard to go past the Samosa Chaat - just the right combination of flavors, tangy, sweet & spicey!

I think I'm being overly generous at 3 star but here we go anyway.
Service, so slow we almost left, I even went down into the bar to fetch my own but told no it's table service so back I went to wait, got bored of waiting so I decided to go find a post box, harder than you think in Newcastle, it took so long I had time to find it, post the cards and return to the wife who still had no drinks, eventually they turned up, beer was in a bottle and not even remotely cold.
The place was not busy in the slightest I have no idea how it can take so long to serve 1 bottle of beer and 1 bottle of cider, maybe they had to wait till the beer reached room temperature.
The tables are wobbly as hell, the woman Infront of us spilled half a bottle as she inadvertently lent on the table and it went flying.
In fact as I'm writing this I've decided 3 is far too high so it's getting 2, cocktails are more expensive than anywhere else near.
So, expensive, intolerably slow service and warm beer.
Excellent vegetable panini, with mushrooms, roasted red pepper, olives, garlic and cheese (which tasted like mozzarella). Very filling and tasty, great value and served with a cheery smile. Not all takeaway food is the same. A favourite.

Very popular and with good reason. We spent a lot of hours here in one day and found the service very good, the facilities inside and outside were great.
We’ll definitely be back again during our next Newcastle visit.

I'm French, originally not hugely far from the Italian border and I speak Italian. Wannabe Italian chain restaurants hate me because I spot the BS ;) one of my favourite AUTHENTIC Italian restaurants in the North East is Francesca's! The food is good (proper "pizza Italiana" if you ask me). The owner / most of the staff ARE genuine Italian people that you can speak Italian to ;) My only complaint is that the French waitress joined in with the rest of my French compatriots / Parisians to show her disdain at my region. I thought I was safe in Newcastle and could pretend to be from a glamorous part of France but apparently not 😆! I am joking of course. Great crack. Great service. Great food. They even brought in a little ice-cream with a candle and sang happy birthday for my hubby s birthday. Completely unplanned but super kind. You keep doing what you are doing raggazzi and when you go PLC please let me become a shareholder!!!!!!! Tanti Auguri. Forza Francesca 🫶🫶🫶

I dined here just over a week ago and would highly recommend this place. Friendly staff, nice venue and the food was fabulous! I ordered the Greek Gyros meal and it was delicious, and a lot to get through too. Was sad not to get to sample more as they closed for a week's holiday but will certainly seek them out if I'm ever back in Toon Town!

Grand wee place. Truly old school and aimed at a range of really good beers presented well and kept well.
Always the pub of choice if you want s beer and not just a lager the same as every other place in town.
Great place; friendly and well kept , give it a try. Not sure what to try, just ask!
