Lovely beer, lovely atmosphere

Still the best pub in Newcastle, small but perfectly formed. 5 cask lines and 8 kegs on the go at any one time with a well stocked fridge in support. Also hosts plenty of events and tap takeovers by a range of brewers, always friendly and welcoming to all. Helpful, knowledgeable staff, what more could you want? (More Imperial stouts on cask Jon!)

Lovely little dog friendly micro-pub. Great atmosphere but gets busy on match days and when o2 city hall concerts are on.

Very friendly bar with good selection of beer

Phenomenal micropubs and a real exemplar of what this should mean. Helpful and knowledgeable lad behind the bar (not sure if he was an employee or owner but he did a great job). Fantastic selection of beer on draft and cask supplemented by some excellent chilled cans in the fridge. Small outdoor seating area. Only downside might be the accessibility for some as it's down a couple of steps in a basement type room but it adds to the character and atmosphere of the place

Nice pub with nice beers and friendly staff. Sat in the back room, where there wasn't much of an atmosphere. Annoyingly, they charge £5 for an hour of WiFi use, which is a bit cheeky, and I've never experienced in a pub before.

Always interesting things on tap and their stout selection is first rate, with extensive fridge selection and ciders on draft to compliment. Always worth a trip down those steps to see if they've got a table free.

One of Newcastles best kept secrets. An outstanding craft beer bar. There’s something for everyone either on tap or in the fridges. Staff are always super helpful and welcoming too.

Fast becoming one of my favourite places in the toon. This small bar offers wide variety of craft beers and ales! Theres some (limited at the time I last visited) wines and fridges stocked with a variety of cans, ciders and more. The pubs got a great vibe, music is good and it’s dog friendly too! sausage rolls at the bar done by another independent place in Newcastle, look delicious and the even have one for veggies too!

Great little place to grab a beer. A decent selection with a good few Gluten Free options too. Limited seating due to popularity. I would recommend a visit if you've not been.

Absolutely outstanding craft beer bar, small but mighty! Great selection of beers, sometimes it is easier for places to go for the easy sell little of the road beers but here there is a fantastic selection across the styles - something for everyone. Would thoroughly recommend!

John and his team have provided the warmest of welcomes in the Toon since the place first opened. It's one of the only places in Newcastle that you can get a Beast Bitter! Everything is good, and the selection of cans is first rate ,and you'll find things here that nowhere else in the region stocks.

Great little Bar with a fantastic selection of beers, ales IPAs. Perfect for a pre drink before heading to shows at the City Hall. Much better than Weatherspoons next door!

Visited yesterday with Boyfriend and Brother. Absolutely loved it, small and perfect (just like me haha) the staff we so warm, welcoming and friendly. Offered interesting ales to try, we went with a one barman recommended and it was superb. Very refreshing, light fruity and crisp. An amazing array of cans with intriguing flavour combinations. There's not many seats and can get crowded very quickly. Decor is quirky and interesting. Toilets were clean and well maintained. Had a good chat with barman and a few other customers. Would be happy to go there alone. Highly recommended.

Haven't been in for ages, but still as good as I remember, great choice of beers and the friends who I was with were a little bamboozled with the variety of drinks, however the barman was great and there were well impressed with his recommendations

Excellent choice of cask and keg and a good fridge full of cans for consumption or takeaway. Owner knowledgeable and friendly, and very happy to advise on choice of needed. A must visit.

Absolute gem of a place. The selection of beers on tap, cask and in the fridge is amazing. We were made to feel very welcome by the lovely staff. Unfortunately we were only visiting Newcastle for the weekend, if I lived there this place would be my regular. Cant wait to visit again!

Great little traditional real ale pub.

It was a nice place, good beers. Only issue was when a member of the staff wanted the door left open when a smoker was smoking just outside the door and smoke was coming in. Needs to be sorted.

Visited for the first time this weekend. Great range of beers, lovely staff. Bigger inside than it looks on the outside! Just a few minutes walk from Haymarket.

Smashing little place with a well kept (which is rarer than ever) amount of great beers. Only complaint is toilets are upstairs, unpleasant if you're lumbered with problematic left leg ! 😉

Lovely welcome from the bar staff straight off. A cracking selection of craft beers on both tap and canned/bottled. Quite a small place so fills quickly but great atmosphere and not long before you'll find a seat and settle in to some beery goodness. Will make a beeline here on our next visit to Newcastle.
