Wasted our time travelling to this last night. Said it was open on the website. Well and truly closed 😕

Absolutely beautiful, the most authentic Indian food I've had since I went to Mumbai. Lovely people too!

BEST TAKEAWAY IN NEWCASTLE!! Have ordered from here countless times now and has been great every time. I've also ordered with friends/family who have all loved it too, vegans and non-vegans alike. As a vegan, there is nothing quite like a fully plant based menu and the peace of mind that brings when ordering, and I'm not aware of anywhere else with so many options. I would highly recommend the onion bhajis and garlic or peshwari naan. There are so many fantastic curries to choose from, but some of my favourites include the seitan madras, jalfrezi, chana masala and aloo gobi. They also do great pizzas and chips etc, so there's little reason to order from anywhere else! Always better to support an independent family-run business. Very good value for money as well. Don't be put off by the £20 minimum spend if ordering for one - I often order two curries and a naan and freeze half for later. The staff are lovely and easy to get in contact with (via text etc) when needed. I would say delivery takes an hour on average - a perfectly reasonable amount of time, especially considering I'm a bit further out (North Kenton), and I think the owner delivers herself. So as long as you order with 1-2h in mind, you can't be disappointed! 🙂

Last 2 times we ordered from here the delivery time was quite slow so order quite far ahead. Other than that the food is absolutely exceptional. Whether you are vegan veggie or a meat eater you absolutely need to try their food. best to order a mix as not everything may be to your taste as some of the flavour profiles are very interesting and unique. my favorites are the spinach paratha ,saag tofu and tofu tikka

I absolutely love Karma Kitchen! It's my take-away go to. The food is amazing, all plant based, and it has a home-cooked meal feel to it (because it is!). I always look forward to the end of the week for a special treat. I prefer to support family owned businesses vs. chains, you can tell they really care about the quality of the food and the clients. It has a special energy to it and I feel so good after each meal. I have some food sensitivities and the menu is so varied that it's easy to find something that agrees with me. The owner is lovely and I always look forward to seeing her in the delivery! Very special business indeed :)

I had food delivered and I can say that it was probably one of the tastiest Indian meals I have had in a very long time. Everything was cooked to perfection, packaged correctly, still warm, and the taste was as good as it gets. Would 100% recommend.

Excellent food- my non vegan husband loved it too. Full of flavour, excellent textures and generous potion sizes. We’re visiting Newcastle and ordered a delivery. All curries, onion bhaji, rice and peshwari naan were excellent but the gobi Manchurian was out of this world. We’ll be ordering their national delivery once we’re back home. So much better than all of the highly rated restaurants we visited in Newcastle this week.

Very disappointed...bought the boxed delivery....specifically requested no pepper/strong spices. Had to go in the bin....just under 50 pounds down the drain!

Chicken turned out to be soya even if on the menu says chicken before delivery messaged that they don't have cobra then even if I was told payment came through a woman kept on messaging and coming to my door for payment, o discount for poor service and food was worse curry both dishes full of onions that I have ever had.Unprofessional and I didn't like food don't recommend

Amazing food with an array of choices for all tastes and spice tolerances. Every side dish was so thoughtfully prepared and delicious, the best vegan Indian food I've ever had hands down.

We ordered a pizza from here a while back and it was amazing! Unfortunately we don't live local, so we don't have the option of ordering regularly, but we received a karma boxed delivery a couple of weeks ago and have eaten 2 of the 5 curries I ordered. The food is amazing! So flavourful, not majorly spicy (but tbh I didn't order the spicy options). We are excited every weekend for our frozen takeaway 😂 The tofu was beautiful, the seitan I think is homemade and it's one of the best I've had! Honestly couldn't recommend enough

A brilliant place to get top quality, non greasy, home cooked, delicious vegan Indian food. We order most Friday evenings as a treat after work. My husband is not strictly vegan like I am but always comments on how much he also loves the food. And the staff are lovely too!!!

Closed on Sat eve when it said on the door (and Google) it was open. Walked about 30min for this🙈Please update your opening hours.

Karma cafe has the most amazing food. I highly recommend. The ladies who run the restaurant are so lovely. Food was delivered very quickly and you can really taste how much care goes into each dish.

If you're saying 16:00 is the time you open on Sunday, stick to what's written, you open after 17:00.

Food was amazing, couldnt decide what to order so we ordered a bit of everything... pizza was lush, masala chips are incredible! Even the onion rice was good enough to eat alone!! Great tasting food, good portion sizes and (fairly quick) delivery! We thought the doods were too sweet for us, but can imagine others with a sweeter tooth would like them. Also not sure the doughnuts being delivered frozen didn’t really work - they were cold and soggy when they thawed. Could’ve given 4/5 for that imperfection but honestly this place deserves the 5. Will order again.

Always incredible food from small family run business Karma Kitchen - all vegan, so many options as they regularly change the menu. My absolute favourite takeaway ever! My favourites are the aubergine curry baingan bharta and the tofu tikka masala or ‘paneer’ tikka masala. My partner loves the rajma. The desserts are also incredible! And highly recommend the rose dood oat milk based drink. I’ve never had a bad dish from Karma Kitchen! Also always a lovely service. If you’re not local or want to buy a meal for a gift for somebody further away, they even do ‘Karma Boxed’ - frozen takeaways to cook at home. As far as I know it’s takeaway only though, Google seems to suggest dine-in options are available but I’ve never been aware of that. (Please correct me if I’m wrong!)

The most incredible takeaway, portions are amazing too. I couldn't finish the naan and I'm currently eating the left over at the train station, it's so damn good I no longer care about the 3 train cancellations and 2 hour delay I'm currently experiencing. Keep it up Karma Kitchen! 👏

This is my favourite place to eat in Newcastle! I’ve never had a bad experience eating here, the portion sizes are big and the food is delicious every time. They have a massive range of dishes from mains to desserts and everything I’ve tried has been amazing. I’d order every week if I could!

We have ordered from Karma Kitchen a few times and cannot recommend their food enough, whether you're vegan or not. It is always delivered very fast and everything we've ordered has been absolutely delicious and bursting with flavour. So glad we discovered this little gem of a place and looking forward to the next order!

Love the food here , so tasty and a great price. And if you can’t get there or aren’t close enough for a takeaway then the frozen delivery option is great too.

Karma Kitchen is an amazing family ran business - I always have a great experience, and the food feels like a hug to the stomach. The curries are always flavourful and I really enjoy to order the mango lassi - I can't get one anywhere else, and I doubt it would be that tasty elsewhere either. The customer service is always great, everyone is so friendly and responsive. In terms of the atmosphere, I miss going to Karma Kitchen in person because it was like a little place of calm in the city centre, I have lots of fond memories of ordering thali with friends here. Ordering food at home, this is the perfect night in to host friends and chat over some good food. Thank you Karma Kitchen!!!

My favourite takeaway! It's difficult to find vegan options sometimes but karma kitchen goes above and beyond with their meals. You can taste the love in each and every fresh dish, and it's great to not have to worry about dietary requirements and know everything is safely vegan! The madras and jalfrezi are mine and my partner's favourites, and the garlic naan and samosas are a must on the side. Can't recommend this place enough, especially for supporting a local vegan business 💚

We have been huge KK fans for a good few years now, but having moved slightly further away have been missing their amazing meals for a while - until I remembered about Karma Kitchen Boxed! Easy to order from the same large range of vegan delights as their regular takeaway menu and it arrived really quickly with excellent communication throughout. Was slightly crossing my fingers hoping it would taste as good as usual having been frozen, but I followed the simple instructions and it absolutely was!! If you are anywhere in the UK and love curry, vegan or not, this is a must try, you definitely won't regret it.

Unreal vegan food, and staff really helpful!

We often get a take away from karma kitchen and we are never disappointed! The food it absolutely amazing and there are so many delicious options to choose from. It takes about an hour to get to us in Heaton but it’s worth the wait. The staff are always friendly. We love being able to support a fully vegan and family run business!

Absolutely amazing vegan food!!! Really lovely owners who really put their heart into their delicious food. We moved to London and still desperately try order every time we’re back visiting! And haven’t found anywhere on par with karma kitchen there. Naan breads, the biryani, the seitan madras, the korma, the jackfruit… basically everything is delicious. Of course they get busy at peak times but it’s always worth the wait. Have ordered the frozen delivery too and it was fab.

We have ordered their Karma Boxed several times and picked up takeaway too. Sadly we're just outside their delivery area or we'd probably order weekly! The food is delicious; really authentic with great attention to detail. The range of options is great, from veg based to tofu through to mock meats. Something to suit everyone. My favourite is the madras. The Google listing does say "dine in" which needs amending as they operate on a takeaway basis only. If you're not in the area you can order their boxed meals to pop in the freezer. Would highly recommend this family run fully vegan business.

Ordered from all the way down in Kent multiple times, and it's always a real treat. Large, varied menu, with distinct flavours throughout. All delicious.

Delicious plant based Indian food, friendly service from the staff, and eco friendly packaging to boot! My partner and I have been loyal customers for years since back when they had a restaurant in town - though it's now delivery only since covid. If I had one minor criticism it would be that some of the curries are quite runny, but they taste amazing regardless. My personal favourite order is the Baingan Bartha, onion rice and a peshwari naan - 10/10 would recommend

Very good food here, love that everything is vegan, including some traditionally non-vegan indian dishes, like mango lassie and Gulab Jamun. We loved the cheesy naan, and butter "paneer" especially. Would order again and highly reccomend:)

First time experience of Indian food and it was absolutely delicious!! The vegetable korma was so tasty and the mushroom rice was lovely. Also a lovely surprise being able to buy amazing puddings/cakes! As we are plant-based I was so pleased to find Karma Kitchen, especially as everything tasted so good. Outstanding vegan food, obviously very talented chef. All arrived in sustainable takeaway packaging which I could then recycle so that's a bonus! Will definitely be ordering again.

Sadly we didn't get to eat at this restaurant as it was closed for eating in which it doesn't state on Google. So we turned up hopeful to eat at a totally vegan Indian restaurant, but a lady we saw unlocking the door of the restaurant told us due to Covid it's takeaway/delivery only so we had to miss out as we wanted to find somewhere to eat that evening. It looks worth ordering a takeaway if you can though, the food looks yummy.

Very disappointed. My husband ordered a takeaway based on all the great reviews. The food arrived lukewarm. The starters were good, especially the onion bhaji. However, the curries were not good at all, the flavour was very removed from the authentic Indian. Firstly, you could not see any spinach in the tofu saag. The vegetable korma was an extremely sweet tasting mess without any vegetables in it (not sure if the veg was pureed?). Dal makhani was a gravy with a small amount of actual urid dal. Overall very unhappy with the meal as it was not tasty.

Such delicious food! Could not recommend this place more highly. Everything we ordered was amazingly tasty but if we had to pick favorites it would be the Kattal Chaat Puri (jackfruit) and the GF peshwari naan bread. So good! * Update: We ordered the feast to be delivered and it was delicious. Easily fed 6 people and everything was easy to heat up in the little bags. A great way to get tastiness from the north in London!

Still a very tasty curry if getting take away but a few things slipped or been cut back since previous experience. Minimum take away order is quite high and as a little bonus it used to come with complimentary chutney and poppadoms. This was a nice touch but now they are paid extras. Curry also arrived earlier than requested. Perhaps a box could be included on online order form for preferred delivery time to avoid further confusion.

Food was absolutely incredible and will definitely order from these guys again! Only blemish was that our starters arrived cold so we had to heat them in the oven (hence the 4 stars), but the food was so good it didn't spoil the experience.

Delicious! We ordered Aloo Gobi, Channa Masala, Tarka Daal, onion bhajis and some vegetable pakoras. Everything was flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I highly recommend Karma Kitchen if you're in the Newcastle area.

Sadly closed by COVID but we didn’t want to miss out when we visited Newcastle and arranged a collection. Everyone was helpful with our order which was professionally fulfilled. The menu is excellent with plenty of choice for veggies, vegans and omnivores who just fancy a change. Our starters, a seitan and a tofu dish were all good, as was our mushroom rice. All enthusiastically consumed back at our nearby hotel with a nicely chilled cava. We hope the restaurant will be open by the time we next visit Newcastle but if not we will happily take out again.

I'm so happy to have found Karma Kitchen. I can't get anything like such good quality or choice near me, but thanks to the Karma Kitchen national delivery I can now enjoy a wide range of top quality restaurant fare in my own home. Plus there are gluten free versions of everything - even the breads! It's some of the best food I've ever tasted.

I’ve never eaten in the restaurant, but I’ve ordered takeaway before a few times and it’s always been brilliant food. Some mild curries for people like me who don’t like much spice and some spicier ones for those who do! The peshwari naan is my favourite thing. Looking forward to ordering again soon.

We ordered 30 mins before closing time and they were so kind and accepted the order anyways, service was polite and understanding of our very big order. Then the food was delivered, curries tasted amazing, best popadums ever, the paneer makhani was the star of the show, fried tofu and the tofu in the curries was so so flavourful and vegetable platter was sooo good, my sister loved the chickpeas, very grateful for the complimentary dips and the vegetable korma was insane and definitely a personal favourite.

I'm a repeat customer at Karma Kitchen and they knock it out of the park every time. There's such a great variety of dishes and it's so good that the entire menu is plant based (although I know a lot of meat-eaters who love Karma Kitchen too!). When you eat the food you can always tell there's so much expertise, care and love gone into it. The staff are also consistently lovely when they come to deliver the food! Honestly can't recommend enough.

This meal was to die for. I had the peshwari naan, mushroom rice, tofu masala and seitan madras. The meal was served between two and had enough for us to eat for lunch the next day. Amazing service and so tasty ! Really cheap can’t wait to order again

My favourite curry in the world. This place is amazing, the food is so delicious and always really fresh and full of flavour. A firm favourite of ours is the tofu tikka masala, so creamy and yummy! This place is a dream whether you're vegan or not! Portions are always really generous, and food always hot and fresh! 10/10 always ♥️

Have had a few takeaways from Karma. I'm neither a vegan or a vegetarian but I love their food- easily the best South Asian food I've tasted in North East - or anywhere!

We've tried to continue supporting this vegan business by giving multiple chances, but unfortunately tonight will definitely be the last time. The last 4 times we've ordered we've had to wait close to or over 2 hours for our food and when it arrives it's cold and much of it is either stale or soggy so we end up having to find something else to eat. Even worse is that we haven't had a proper apology on any of these occasions. So disappointing as we originally loved the food and agreed that we would continue to support them

This was our first time eating at Karma Kitchen and I was so impressed! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is great. It’s really hard to find a decent vegan take away but this place really exceeded all my expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed it! The bhuna puri starter and veggie samosas are particularly good!

Amazing food, lots of options on the menu, lovely staff and service. We’ve recently moved to Gateshead so making the most of the deliveries and making our way through the menu! They’ve been very accommodating with preferences, e.g. asking for vegetables instead of tofu! And it’s impossible not to order one of their tasty cakes from the menu! Highly recommend!

I received a Karma Kitchen Boxed for my birthday a few weeks ago. Having moved away from Newcastle over a year ago, I've missed the food from Karma Kitchen! I think it is a wonderful business that shines love, warmth and a passion for good (I would say amazing!) vegan food. It still remains by far my favourite place for curry, and I am still yet to find anywhere else that does vegan naan! I delighted in receiving curry in the post! We were recommended this place and ordered a takeaway for delivery as a birthday celebration. We ordered a selection of starters and mains consisting banana blossom masala, tofu pakora, mixed vegetable bhuna puri, kattal chaat puri, seitan madras, Baingan Bhaitha, South Indian kattal curry, seitan puddina, paratha, garlic naan, sides and dips. Delivery was on time. Presentation, freshness and flavour were faultless. Would high recommend this place and will definitely order again.
