Deliciosa comida excelente personal y un ambiente cálido encantador - vamos cada vez que pasamos una noche en Newcastle y siempre sabemos que lo disfrutaremos cada vez.

Genuinely disappointing. I'm a big fan of Asian food and I can honestly say this was pretty poor. The poppadoms came over cooked and just tasted of burnt vegetable oil. I had the mixed kebab starter which had one lamb chop one piece of chicken tikka and one onion bhaji (not really a mixed kebab). I like my curries fairly hot, so I had chicken tikka madras. The chicken didn't look like it was tikka but I was told it definitely was. The sauce was like soup and there were only 5 pieces of chicken in the whole dish. The chapattis were the only saving grace, fresh warm and pretty nice. Other than that very poor as a whole.

Establecimiento limpio ordenado agradable ambiente. Servicio muy educado y eficiente. Ordenado fuera del menú establecido. Comida mixta de kebab, masala de pollo con chile, pilau de champiñones y niñera peshwari. La comida llegó en buen momento, el entrante era muy sabroso. Bonita olla de yogur de buen tamaño con entrante. El plato principal era de excelente sabor y un montón de trozos de pollo de buen tamaño en el curry. El arroz pilau de setas estaba muy bueno. Pashwari nann hermosa. Siempre he tenido cuidado con las porciones fijas del menú, pero las porciones no se han comprometido en absoluto. La comida era abundante y de excelente sabor. El precio fijo del menú era de £ 20 esto era para un entrante principal ya sea arroz o niñera. Pedí la niñera que era extra, ya que ya tenía arroz. Para resumir una excelente comida.

We visit this restaurant regularly and it is always top class! The staff are really friendly and the food is always fantastic! Highly recommended

We visited this restaurant on Saturday night,it was a good choice we made as we had walked into the restaurant over the road and it was very cold, glad we came to rasika as it was lovely and warm. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who showed us to our table, the food and the service was second to none and we will definitely be returning and will recommend it to all our friends

Gave our family group of 10 a wonderful warm welcome especially our little girl who was slipped some secret "extra poppadoms"! Thank you for a lovely meal.

Ordered my usual chicken tikka masala and garlic nan, food was unreal! Mr Ali was very lovely when I came to pick up my food. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area or fancy an Indian takeout. ☺️

We were in Newcastle for the weekend, my son and I. We fancied an Indian on Saturday evening. The two that I looked up that were the highest rated were full up, and we stumbled across Rasika when wandering around. We decided to go in, it was quieter than the others. We ordered Chilli Paneer, Onion bhaji, fried rice, garlic and coriander naan, chicken tikka pathia, lamb tikka balti. The food was so disappointing. The paneer and the naan were nice, rice is rice, it’s hard to het wrong and it was fine, however, both curries were low standard. The lamb was so tough it was inedible, so chewy, just not nice, although the flavour of the sauce was ok. The chicken tikka pieces were completely flavourless. The place was nice to be in, and the service was actually good. They took the lamb balti off the bill as they could see we had left it. We had eaten the chicken, as we were simply hungry and it was edible, but I don't go to pay for restaurant food just for it to be edible. They seem to have good reviews, so maybe it was just a bad night for them. I wouldn’t be able to go back though.

1000% recommend! We walked in on a Friday night and so glad to get a table. Dishes were beautiful and full of flavour, service was fantastic and good value for money. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. Loved the chicken chilli masala :)

My partner and I tried this restaurant .friendly welcome, great food and service could not fault it , good atmosphere and reasonably priced.

We had a delicious meal late on a Friday night having driven to Newcastle to drop our son at uni here. Although we were the only diners left at 11.30pm we were not rushed in the least. All the staff were so welcoming, friendly & polite & all the food - both for vegetarians, & meat eaters, super-tasty! Highly recommended!

We looked at all the reviews for an indian whilst visiting Newcastle and we ended up here because others were either closed or fully booked. Everything happens for a reason 👍🏻 This place is gorgeous. The food is amazing and freshly cooked how you like it. The staff are super super friendly and even hold the door while you leave and bid you a good night. We have eaten at indian restaurants literally all over the world and this has got to be one of the best. Thanks for a lovely indian dining experience. We will be back when we are next in Newcastle. Enjoyed starter, But main was not great I'm afraid

Had dinner of a raja birianyi and veggie samosa, paired with a pint of Cobra lager. The food was delicious, with great balance of spices and fresh flavours. Servers were friendly, attentive and professional. A very enjoyable meal. Highly recommended.

One of the best little India restaurants we've eaten at. Very friendly, amazing food. Also a fast service so you're not sitting around too long before being fed. Brilliant!

Visited here with friends on a Sunday. As always Ali and his team provide fantastic food with brilliant service and a genuinely lovely atmosphere. The finest Indian food I've had. The flavours were incredible. Reasonably priced and really good service. Table of 6 with main, sides & drinks was £40 each. It was a lot of food.

Terrible taste and quality of food.

I dined here a couple days ago on a business trip to Newcastle. The food is mediocre and tasteless, the waiters were holding a frown and over attentive (i felt like i was being watched every bite). I had some dish called rongoli due to it being one of their specials (tasted like watered tomato ketchup with a mixed spice in the blend). Very disappointed. Waste of £30.

Chose this restaurant due to the sign outside that said '2 courses for £14.95'. This sounded like great value. Unfortunately one of the courses is the accompaniment to your main course i.e. rice or naan. In my opinion this is misleading as a course should be starter or main etc. Food was ok. No poppadums served unless ordered and paid for. I'd try another Indian in Newcastle before going back here as it was just ok.

Me and my friend had a meal here tonight and have to say it was absolutely beautiful! The meat on our starter and main courses was so tender and delicious. The staff were all lovely and very attentive. Well worth a visit and we will definitely go back.

Visiting Newcastle for a break we looked at reviews walked past top 3 restaurants and choose this one. We weren't disappointed overall one of the best experiences we've had in an Indian. The place was clean and bright,staff very smart, attentive and courteous . Not forgetting the food which was top notch. We had the early bird menu 3 courses for £18. 95. Would use again.

Best Lamb Korma ever. Super staff and takes allergies seriously. My wife's dishes were all marked no ghee as she's allergic to cows milk. Well worth a visit.

Had a sagwala, mushroom bryani and a rogan josh. All tasted great and good sized portions. Doggy bag home. Very attentive staff

Food ok, have had better food and service and had worse. You need to try it yourself.

Simply you have to try this restaurant , the staff food and service are second to none , the manager always pays close attention to all the dishes and makes sure they are cooked to your likeing. This has to be one of the best in the city and the view of the Tyne Bridge from here is spectacular.

I've been to some indians restaurants in my time and rasika was a defo 3 out of 5 stars but the food was ok ..starter i got wasnt very garlic and the curry's were just average ..ordered chips and were frozen normally you get indian handcut ones at other restaurants ...restaurant seemed very dark ...the cobra was a fine pint lol but staff was a 5 out 5 for me nothing too much trouble ....would i return maybe but will be trying other indian restaurants near by next time I'm in newcastle 😎

Amazing food, very attentive staff, well priced, certainly worth a vissit

Firstly, I was greeted and made to feel very welcome by the staff which made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Secondly, the Cobra was as good as it gets! The most important part of this review (as after all it is a restaurant) is the food. Oh my! PHENOMENAL! I had the Lamb Sagwala, the meat was tender and delicious. The curry itself was faultless and thankfully not bathing in oil. Flavoursome and ticked all the right boxes. I have been eating Curries for around 40 years and had just about every experience you could get from terrible to great. This is right up there with the greats. It takes an extreme experience for me to right a review (really good or bad) so pleased to be writing a well deserved good review for Rasika. Thanks again to the fantastic staff who made my experience all the more memorable with their great hospitality. 5 Stars all day long.

Excellent food and service Lamb madras was delicious. Lamb was really tender Service from the staff was efficient and timely Restaurant was very busy for Monday night. My friend also enjoyed his food and his from Bradford that tells something about the food. He had keema murug which he said was very tasty. Will definitely be back again at rasika

I was staying on the quayside and this was the closest restaurant on deliveroo, hence i chose this place for dinner. The food was disgusting and flavorless. Curry topped with oil to the top and onion bhajis were soaking in oil. I feel where spices should be main ingredient in indian food this restaurant uses oil as its main ingridient. Never ordering again. 🤢

Great place for an Indian food experience.. the usual expected dishes plus a handful of chef specials make the menu wide ranging. Wine menu was limited. Plenty of beer options.

There is no shortage of choice for Indian food in this part of Newcastle, but Rasika's food is so good it has become our go-to place. Really impressive, and very reasonably priced.

We visited here on a Saturday night and there was a nice wee vibe so was expecting time it to be good. We got prawn puri to start but it was really just a couple of prawns with peppers and a rolled up roti. It was fine, not bad, not great. The mains all came out very quickly and all 3 where supposed to be different levels of spicy bit they all tasted very similar. The service was friendly enough and although we ate everything it was just all very 'nice' without really being what we wanted.

Walk, bike, take-away, deliver order, pigeon… whatever it takes to eat this food and support the incredible people at this remarkable establishment. Every dish is a stand-out; proper unique curry blasts of flavor that set it apart from the standard curries around town. The naan were generous in size, and perfectly chewy scoopy heaps of goodness. Perfect pilau rice with fluff and bite. Melty-tender chicken in delectable curry gravy. Balanced fire-y flavorsome vindaloo. Food so good I couldn’t tell we had even dirtied the dishes in the first place. What more can anyone ask for? This is our go-to place in the North. To say I highly recommend Rasika, is an understatement.

Lovely Indian restaurant great tasting food and helpful friendly staff

Good standard of food. However, the "3 course" set menu offer is misleading since one of the "courses" is only a side dish like rice or naan. So it's really only 2 courses (starter and main).

We had a very large group including kids.The service, the food and the attentive staff never missed a thing. A brillant night and the food was great. Highly recommend, CANT wait to go back next time I’m in Newcastle. It will be a go to for me and our group.

This place is a find, the kema that I had was a delight to eat, the flavour was amazing and fresh. The staff were so friendly and made the whole experiance a delight to top the night off .well done guys ill be back 5 star

Chips are 10/10 flavourful and crunchy. Naan bread was some of the best we've had from a restaurant and the environment and staff were fantastic and friendly. Went as a last minute date and would definitely go again

Really lovely meal! 4.5 star from us. British Indian is our favourite cuisine - and this was an amazing example. Absolutely loved the popadoms and mixed pickles. As you can see from the picture you get a soup-bowl of each pickle between 2 people which is brilliant as I like to load mine up. Lamb madras was outstanding - perfect heat and my wife’s best madras yet. Lamb bhuna was beautiful - on par with many other restaurants. Garlic naan was slightly too oily and garlicky which is hardly a big deal. Lovely, faultless and polite service.

I am writing my experience as an Indian Sylheti expat..Great Food Great Service..The owner and staff they custom made the food according to deshi style..Very friendly interaction...Reminded me of home away in Cachar district Assam India.They are from Sylhet, Bangladesh and we share common ethnic group, taste, language and food..Amar bejan bhal laagse. Home feeling in Newcastle.

Food was amazing, we went during the closing time around 11. The service was very slow. But all the rest of the stuff was good.
