Great little village pub, ran by the locals, so friendly, we stayed at the stable cottage it was literally over the road, would recommend to anyone if in the area to visit this little hidden gem, x

I had a breakfast sausage, bacon and egg with cheese and it was great, quality products; Even the egg mayo I grabbed for lunch time tasted fresh 🙂

A lovely gift shop overlooking the pretty village green. A tasty treat of cheese and onion toasties (4 triangles) and a side salad for only £2.50.....they also do baked potatoes with as many fillings and side salad for £2.50....a selection of snacks and deserts (pancakes, ice cream, steam pudding, custard)Also a delightful gift shop with lots of gifts and cards. Pet portraits done for only £15.00. Such a lovely little shop.

You walk in passed a few outside tables up the internal stairs to a packed room that has a buzz about it. If you're into gardening there is a beautiful display of house plants in various containers. It was pa ked and we waited ten minutes for a table, but the turnover is quick and staff are efficient. We only had coffee and cake but will decorate go back for lunch having seen everyone else eating.

Once again amazing food, atmosphere and lovely staff. Always a pleasure to dine here, never disappointed. Highly recommend.

Exceptional food, been traveling round Britain for work for ever and this is the best restaurant / takeout I’ve eaten in at this price. You won’t find a better chip in Britain

My favourite place in town. Superb pizza, delicious cocktails, inventive specials. Lovely brunches too. Nice inside, great service, doggy friendly (free treats and pup cups on the menu). Good vibes all round xxx

Lovely cafe for coffee and cake

Beautiful decor, great choice of wines, wonderful service with sharing boards of food.

Great day out and actors were interesting and knowledgeable. Fish and Chips at Pit Village area are fantastic. Cinema at The Grand was also fun!

I seriously can't fault this experience. The staff wee incredibly friendly and attentative, we were never left waiting with empty plates or glasses and most important of all the food was delicious. We will absolutely be coming back!

Just love it, great place, great barmaid, fantastic selection of beers and a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the only place in in Durham that sells craft beers that i could find. Didn't eat here so can't review but it is a must if your in the area. 🍺👍
