Cracking little pub, different setup for the bar. A good clean pub

Friendly staff & great food (though there was a bit of a wait)

Possibly the best real ale bar in Durham, we had a porter and a brown ale and they were both magnificent. The place itself is quite quirky but very friendly and welcoming, my kind of pub and a must visit 🍺👍

Great pub, great beer and a wonderful atmosphere. Chris and Suzannah run a wonderful establishment where real ale, cider and community are the priority.

One of my favourite pubs this year. Up there with the Grocers in Cadishead in Salford. You walk in bewildered as to where to walk, where to order, but within seconds have the best pint of real ale plonked right in front of you.

Unique, quaint, atmospheric, unique, nice and did I say unique.

Micropub situated beneath the impressive railway viaduct. Second visit, despite a decent range of well kept ales and friendly barman my overriding impression is that it's run for a small group of regulars. Despite arriving only a few minutes after the advertised opening time there was a large group sat close to the bar rather dominating the place. It wasn't quite "you're not from round here are you?" but the conversation dipped when we entered. Subsequent arrivals were either welcomed into the group or regarded with suspicion.

Good choice of beers and ciders changing every week. Handy for the station and with an arrivals and departures screen to keep an eye on the trains. Quiet and friendly atmosphere. Doesn't serve good except crisps etc.

Lovely little pub that sells local drinks. The staff are great at giving recommendations for what drinks you like. Often something new to try each time we go in.

Lovely CAMRA craft Ales pub. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and as it was Spring Beer Festival, lots of cask and keg beers and ciders to choose from.

Fantastic range of beer, with lots of local brews on both keg and cask. Very friendly staff and takeaway draft available as well. Seems like a family friendly place, we were in with our two year old and another little one, that I think was the owners son, was also running around.

Best craft beer in durham (the food rating is for the beer). It's my "local" and I live 7 miles away!. Always have 4 craft beers on 2 IPA/blond, 1 bitter or ruby and one porter, and always at least 3 sometimes 4 ciders (typically dry, medium, sweet and 1 perry) Beer always very fresh served directly from the barrel (if you ask so no contamination) but about 3 years ago moved to hand pumps. Only minor downside (for a yorkshireman) is no creamy head on your pint, but small price to pay for fresh top quality beers. No food (except small snacks like pork pies, but seen people bring in pizzas from dominos across the road! Still my local after more than 7 years

Great pub with no bar, you get served through a hatch, and a good selection of proper beers and ciders. Our go to pub when in Durham.

Had a nice afternoon in The Station House, it's unlike any other pub in Durham and well worth a visit!

Great snug little bar. They have some great beers and ciders on offer. I had London Pride and my partner had two different ciders. Would definitely recommend and staff very friendly.

If you're a fan of good beer, there are two places in Durham that are really worth checking out. If you want Samuel Smith, go to Colpitts Hotel; if you want anything else, go to The Station House. There's a frequently changing list of cask ales and ciders, a small but welcoming layout, and staff who knows what they're doing. Clearly this is a place run by and for beer lovers. Count me as a fan.

This is a traditional wet led pub which I visited during a brief stay in Durham. 5 real ales for sale which I understand are changed regularly. Also a great range of ciders. Varied and comfortable seating. Excellent barman who really knows what he is doing. The locals were very friendly and they obviously love their local.

Definitely will recommend to anyone,special choice of cider, and lovely beer.

Small selection of draught beers but all local and really good the few I had. My Grandad's been wanting to visit since it opened and was happy to take him and will take him back again!

Just a couple of very quick drop-ins to this bar when briefly visiting Durham. Nice atmosphere, great range of whisky and lovely service. Will return when I have more time!

Wonderful Pub and excellent beer, with knowledgeable staff to help you choose. Really friendly atmosphere and lots of events throughout the week. Very much worth a visit.

Great beer, great staff. We were waiting for a train so it couldn't have been in a more convenient location. They even had the live train times up on the wall.

Small, basic craft-ale pub. Don't expect any frills, but do expect lots of interesting beers

This is a pub that has been on my wish list for a while. Living nearly 200 miles away means it's not a random Tuesday night stroll. Having tied it into Chorleys game at Spennymoor, I'm good to go. Managed to take in a quick pint in Waiting Room on Durham station before noon (recommended). This pub know exactly what they're doing - and they do it perfectly. Beer exceptional, as you'd hope/assume. The presence of T.T.'s Boltmaker helped. Couldn't dally before the game, but certainly didn't rush for the early train. Sincerely hope it's not too long before a repeat visit. Excellent!

Good selection of cask Ales and interesting ciders and nice to see the train departure board show yet another LNER melt down. Well deserving of their multiple CAMRA awards.

Lovely micropub within a unique building. Quite quirky, but very popular. Nice buzz and very friendly. Owner very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. My wife is a celiac, but we still managed to find an appropriate beer, that unfortunately cannot be said for many other pubs. Was 2022 Camra pub of the year runner up. A great accolade and from what we saw, we'll deserved, great choice of beers stocked. Would strongly recommend 👌

This pub has been improved gradually since it opened and is now a very pleasant place to spend a few hours. Quirky and a bit different in a nice way with a great range of cask ales. Well worth a visit.

It's a pub for the so called Real ale and flat cider drinkers. If you like it rough and ready fill your boots.

Cosy little cask and craft beer focused micro pub tucked under the railway viaduct, next to the station approach. Handy for the station (though down a steep slope from the station), also handy for the bus station and the shopping streets. Excellent quality beers and a good range of malt whisky.

Top drawer old style real ale/cider boozer almost tucked under the bridge. The young man working was both knowledgeable and a gent. I'll be back.

Just below the station this friendly micro pub offered an interesting range of cask, craft, cider and canned beers. Covid aware which made a very comfortable atmosphere.

Plenty covid measures in place, hand sanitizer, names taken, table service. Brilliant selection of ales and cider. Food sadly off today, but when they're on, they do the best pork pie I have ever tasted.
