Village Fish Bar in County Durham

I don't normally like fish and chips, but this was different. I had fish chips and Irish curry sauce, and it is the best fish and chips I've ever had. We go there all the time now and it deserves every one of the 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s. The owners are so pleasant and make you feel welcome and at ease. Irish curry sauce has to be tried! It's delicious!

Called here today on the way to gibson cave at lunchtime.2 sausages and a bag chips all very tasty and scrunchy batter .very friendly service we will.return again when passing delicious food 10/10 from us

Epic fish and chips! The best I've had.

Myself and partner fancied a change from the usual take out so opted for fish and chips. We were certainly not disappointed, we chose the large fish and chips, or should I say whale and chips. Those of you like us who enjoy a decent portion then this is the place for you. No delivery but worth a visit. The staff were lovely and the food was lovely.

Went for Sunday roast take-out, they didn't disappoint. There was loads on my plate (forgot to take photos) and well worth the trip, Lorraine and Geoff are very friendly and due to the circumstances at the moment, were very welcoming 😁

Great grub. The owner is a bit of a character, but that's what we need more of.

The only place I've found better fish and chips is the old part of Hastings where the fish is landed in the ground floor of the building and the restaurant is upstairs. The locals there queue up for that place and this one deserves the same recognition. Excellent fish and chips. Friendly service. Generous portions. I think the best thing to do with Pippa is to roast her! That bird is a menace.

A wonderful fish shop, and staff so nice and helpful. Would certainly recommend. Deserve a 5 star.

The food was nice, although i could not get my head around the fact the owner had a live feed monitor of his budgey on three different screens, still cant!!!

Absolutely gorgeous as always pure brilliant white piece of cod nice chips would recommend a visit fish portion size is awesome ( watch out for the cabbage )
