My favourite place in town. Superb pizza, delicious cocktails, inventive specials. Lovely brunches too. Nice inside, great service, doggy friendly (free treats and pup cups on the menu). Good vibes all round xxx

We had the Garlic Chicken pizza, some N'duja cheese garlic bread and the monthly special pizza (I think it was pumpkin based). All good was very good! And really reasonable pricing for the volume of food. House lemonade was fantastic too, really zingy! I'd go back for brunch, cocktails or other pizzas!

Stumbled upon this delight. Fluffy and light pizzas. A wide range of toppings. Lovely drinks. Reasonable prices. You can order using a QR code and the food comes quickly. It’s a really decent spot.

Found this eating establishment by chance but such a wonderful find. We went in about 4.30 pm on a Friday, and were iinformed we could either order at the counter or use the q code. Think we surprised the waitress (and ourselves) by using the q code. The food was delivered in a very timely manner and my husband and I both agreed that the pizzas were absolutely first class. We had been to Auckland Castle and realised we would have to visit again as too much to see in one visit - a trip to Knead A Slice will also be a definite on our itinerary when we return.

Best pizza in the North East! I always enjoy trying the monthly specials as well as the normal menu. They also have a great range of drinks (especially the fresh lemonades!🍋), and the service is always spot on 😊

Another cute place in Bishop Auckland. Had a great hot chocolate and the good my friends had looked really good and was great portion sizes for a reasonable price.

Fathers day treat to an English breakfast. Very very tasty and quite a decent portion and had a great suprise to see how much bacon I had stacked under my toast. I opted for no tomatoes and just a standard regular English breakfast. Could have been hotter but maybe that was due to four different meals coming out at once to our table This is the best place to eat within the town maybe just off the beaten track but well worth the hunt to find it. Very friendly staff.

Exceptional service, food was lovely! Best overnight oats i've ever eaten(was prepared beautifully with a selection of fruit and honey on top) my partner said her sausage and bacon sandwich was really nice too, she commented on how good the sausages were(Cumberland), even the tea was "the brew company" brand, it seemed like everything was the best quality available and that they were really trying to provide the best food and drinks they could at the price point, the bill wasn't much anyways in my eyes for what we got so i left them a tip in the tip jar on the way out, oh yes and the toilets where spotless too! Best little cafe i've been in for a long time this one, top marks from me!:-)

I love there food hear as a treet now and the but i do love there mocktails in the summer and there pudding and love that it is dog friendly.

Great place, great food, great staff. No need to let dogs in. I have two dogs but it would be nice to have somewhere without dogs for change.

Quite simply the best hand made pizza you will find outside of Italy. The service and value for money are second to none and the inventiveness of the owners with their new flavour combinations for both food and drinks is inspired. The personal favourite is the garlic bread with cheese, N’duja and honey, it is an inspired combination and never fails to deliver.

Lovely resteraunt, fantastic breakfast and the Italian eggs are beautiful. Nice staff and dog friendly 🙂 can't fault it

We've had pizza and some sides a few time from Knead a Slice, easily the best and tastiest pizza in the county, never mind the town! The fries are awesome also....highly recommended!

We had our staff night out here on Dec 1st. Don't get me wrong the pizza was to die for and the cocktails were lovely as well. However, we ordered our first lot of drinks then waited around half an hour for them to come. The boozy brunch is meant to last 90 mins but we were in there 3 hours!!! And we only got 4 drinks!!! The guy then came up at around 9:45 and told us we had to start going down to pay because they close at 10 pm. Need to sort ya service out im afraid!!

Held our daughters 16th here and she absolutely loved it! The team went above and beyond and we can’t thank them enough! We had a few intolerances and allergies and they took it all in their stride and the mocktails were divine!

Coffee, breakfast or an evening meal. These folks have you covered and its all great quality. Out on its own and away form the main town square but it's worth seaking out.

Food was great, nothing fancy but exactly what you'd expect. Sadly, the venue was very cold as there was no heating on (mid november). Also, the music was very loud to the point where we had to ask for it to be turned down as we couldn't hear each other talk. Sort those 2 things out, and I'd recommend for fresh-made pizza and a decent pint.

First visit to Bishop Auckland and it was pouring down, so we wandered about to kill a bit of time before the Castle opened. Hadn’t intended to go in anywhere but we were so glad we did! Dog friendly, pleasant, quick service and the perfect bacon and egg rolls! Wish we lived closer as I’d really like to try the pizzas and other things on the menu.

Nice little café in Bishop Auckland. If you enjoy traditional English breakfasts then I'd recommend their Big Boy Breakfast. You will not leave hungry or unhappy. Quick service and reasonable value. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely delicious breakfast and really tasty coffee. Helpful, friendly staff despite being busy. Good quality produce, beautiful golden yolk on eggs and lovely tasty crispy bacon.

Knead A Slice is fantastic for a Breakfast! The big boy breakfast was excellent and incredible value for money. The only issue and the only reason why its not 5* is that the hot drinks weren't very good, both the tea and coffee just didn't quite taste great. Otherwise, a great experience, friendly staff with excellent food.

An amazing find!! Very dog friendly (treats and puppicinos) and fantastic menu at very affordable prices. The staff are very warm and extremely friendly. Knead a Slice accommodated all of our dietary requirements expertly. Vegan and vegetarian options/alternatives are available for much of the menu. Would highly highly recommend Knead a Slice!! Thank you!!

We wanted breakfast before visiting the castle and found this place which perfectly fitted the bill. Plenty of breakfast variety on the menu and we plumped for the full English. Two bacon, two sausages, one egg, 2 hash browns, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, black pudding and toast and butter. Bacon could have done with a couple of mins longer to crisp up the fat and the egg yolk could have been runnier but miner gripes for what was a pretty good breafast reasonably priced.

Just WOW! An unbelievable pizza base with some great topping suggestions. If you’re a fan of spice you need to order the Bravas fries! They’re to die for! Friendly and fast service with a good booking system. Couldn’t recommend higher.

We called in from work for a quick bite to eat, we got pepperoni pizza, bolognese pizza, garlic bread with cheese, fries and a couple of drinks. Came to roughly £30 which we found really reasonable for fresh hand made pizza, and the quality was amazing. From ordering to being served took around 15 minutes which is also really great. Staff were super friendly couldn’t have done enough for us.

Fantastic brunch today at Knead A Slice, lovely homemade gluten free pizza tasted as good as a normal one, and cocktails to wash it down 🍸 Fantastic staff, great service. Lovely little gem of a place in Bishop! Look forward to coming back again soon

Dropped in for tea when passing through Bishop Auckland. Atmosphere was lovely, relaxed and efficient. Pizzas were freshly made and delicious. We were very happy with finding this restaurant. Don’t often leave reviews but this place deserves a recommendation to others.

Popped in today after work. Absolutely delicious! Lovely decor. Pizza was divine, and the mock tails were super! Highly recommended. Can’t wait to go back!

First time diners here. We drove from an hour away to meet family, who also drove an hour from the other side of Bishop. Cannot fault the food or service at all. Smashing pizzas and lovely staff. We will be visiting again 😊 love the fresh churros too !

It's central location means it's handy to park and meet up with friends straight from work. Coffee was delicious and they offer monthly specials - tonight I got the biscoff latte which didn't disappoint! The staff are always friendly, offering a great service every single visit. Took two pizzas home for a cheat tea - was definitely a hit. Toppings really tasty and the dough was perfect.

Went to have lunch with family, wasn't fancying pizza bit they had plenty of other options on their menu. I had the shirt ribs and mash... Was amazing! Followed by a shared french toast on their brunch menu, what more could you ask for. 10/10

Went for late brunch here and it was superb. Food was excellent and great value. Gluten free options available too. Were accommodating for small children and we were able to order slightly off menu for them. Service was excellent, really kind and friendly staff. It was very peaceful and calm; enjoyable for brunch. We will be returning to try the pizzas too. Dogs also were allowed and catered for.

Visited with friends for bottomless brunch. From the start, the service was fantastic and the staff got on to taking orders for our drinks straight away. As the drinks were arriving, the staff took the next order and so on, so we didn't have to wait that long between drinks. The cocktails were delicious too. The pizzas were tasty and obviously fresh and made on premises. The bottomless brunch from start to finish was very good and worth the £30. We are already planning our next visit!

We've passed this on a few occasions and today was the day we made a visit. We were certainly not disappointed. The restaurant itself is modern and cosy. We received a warm welcome on entering and we're asked if we had been before..no was the answer. We duly looked at the menu and decided on a garlic chicken pizza, absolutely delicious and tasty. Our second choice was the hoisin duck special pizza which again was delicious. We also decided to have the rocket salad simple yet tasty. The chips with parmesan crumble are totally recommended and finally we had the garlic bread with nduja and cheese very scrumptious. Overall a wonderful experience and a pleasure to have such a restaurant on our door steps. So much better to go here than those so called fast food pizza places...we will most definitely be back.

Top quality food!! Best pizza place in the area, with genuine Neapolitan-style pizzas. Brilliant staff, service is top drawer, and the atmosphere is fantastic. These guys even make excellent breakfasts too!! I can’t recommend knead a slice enough; if you haven’t tied it yet, you need to visit!! Family and dog friendly.

Really enjoyed the pizzas, plenty of toppings & a great light base served with its own pizza cutter, I had the garlic chicken, there was an allotment & the third was Hawaiian, out of the three the garlic was by far the best, so tasty, would definitely return but the drinks prices are a little high for a can of cider, you can buy a 4 pack for the price of 1 cider (£4) but I know they need to make a profit! Wouldn’t stop me from returning as the food was fab!

We called here on a Sunday for ‘brunch’. We came as 2 adults, a 6 year old, two 1 year olds and a baby. Staff were helpful in giving us a table with two highchairs. An ok menu which could be improved. No children’s menu. I asked if scrambled eggs and toast could be made for them and they said it could. I had the full English (with some removed items) and my mam had eggs benny. The menu stated no swaps on any breakfasts … fair enough… but why not? The food looked amazing, but was pretty average. I wasn’t too keen on the sausages. I would expect a coffee shop to have sweet treats for afterwards too - cakes etc but there were none. The café allows dogs which is great as I have 2 dogs myself. However, I feel this is reflective in the cleanliness of the place. The floor was actually filthy and could do with a thorough wash. The tables were sticky and dirty also. It does have the feel of a studenty place, with young staff playing on their phones also. There was just an underlying feeling throughout that we were somehow an inconvenience to staff. Wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.

We came to Knead a Slice on bank holiday Monday. The breakfast menu was available so we got full English breakfasts each which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Good portion sizes, served hot, and reasonably priced too. I was also impressed with the hot and...

Got takeaway pizzas and chips tonight, absolutely amazing food, so tasty and excellent quality ingredients. The garlic chicken pizza was honestly the best pizza I've ever had, chips were light and crispy, and all 5 of us devoured every bit of our dinner! We will certainly be back to visit this little gem!!

We called here on Sunday for the new brunch menu which is now served all day so many places stop at 11 which never fits in with our plans so that’s a big thumbs up . We had sausage and bacon sandwiches and homemade lemonade...

My wife and I Popped in for coffee and a sandwich. Beware if you have a small appetite, not the place for you. Excellent coffee, two eggs in a bap, three sausages in a bap. Saw other meals being served great value for money. Service a bit slow, that said Ambiance and staff excellent.

More like NO Service. Firstly I can not comment on the food as we did not eat here. I booked online for my husbands birthday treat. We booked for a lunch time as we had our baby with us. We were the only ones in the place at the time. We were asked after at minute or two of waiting if we had booked. After advising that we had and giving our name the staff member seemed to think we were a booking of six and not two. Clearly the staff had not looked at the booking I had made and the requirements I had noted such as space for my sons pushchair if possible. We were told to sit where ever and so we did. The only positive I have is at this point, one guy did offer us a highchair which is genuinely the only decent service we had at all. Other than this one act....We received ZERO customer service. NO ONE asked if we had been before, no one advised us how to order, no one asked us if we wanted to see drink or food menus. Literally NOTHING. No one approached us at any point at all. NOT ONCE! I decided to change my baby thinking that by the time I had returned to our table they may have given my OH the menus. Nope. On returning my OH was sat there and still no one had attended to us at all. There wasn't even a staff member about at the time to ask for a menu...and really we shouldn't have to when we have booked there with the intention of getting food. The staff seemed to have disappeared apart from one girl who ignored us the whole time we were there. Didn't make eye contact NOTHING. After 35 minutes of waiting we decided to leave and spend our money elsewhere. We were very disappointed with the lack of service and general manners. We don't often get to eat out and we were looking forward to this but were let down. We were the only people there so we can't even attribute the lack of service to a busy premises. Appauling Service and Highly disappointing!

Pizza is great and the staff are fab. We have also had cake & coffee here and it was delicious. Also love that its dog friendly :) However, I will continue to ask when they are going to get bottles of wine AND wine glasses...

We stopped here for lunch after cycling from Durham. Met by a very pleasant young man who was very helpful as I have an allergic, checked with the chef. Food arrived very quickly and very hot. Best pizza we have had in a long time,...
