Beautiful place, excellent service, delicious cocktails and good food. The pizza is Neapolitan style. Dog friendly 🐾

I'm obsessed, the pizza was delicious and lots of great options with the cocktails as well made it a great experience. The order at the table functionality made our trip super easy.

Looking for a vegan brunch on a cold Bank Holiday Monday in Bishop Auckland was beginning to look like a fool's errand, when we came across Knead A Slice. While nothing was marked as vegan, the team were very helpful in showing us what could be made vegan and in fact have us plenty of options. We both had the vegan All Day Breakfast plus coffee. Everything was excellent and clearly freshly cooked. Our dog was welcomed too and the general ambience was great. Highly recommended.

Stunning food and staff are great

The best pizza I have eaten in my entire life hands down. Staff were really friendly, great variety on the menu including monthly specials. The drinks were spot on as well. Very fair price, beautiful location, absolutely faultless. The French toast was the best I've ever eaten too. Will definitely be back!

The only place to eat in the Bishop Auckland area. Pizza 🍕 obviously which is AMAZING! Cocktails, breakfast and much more. Even have a nice selection of sanitary products and deodorant- little things.

Came to celebrate a birthday with brunch. We he food was excellent value, with the most expensive meal costing around £13, which was the Big Boy breakfast. My children were fans of the French toast and I enjoyed the range of Eggs Benny. Service was good, with the option to order I. Person or via qr code.

I always wanted to try here as could smell the food even driving past and smelt amazing but we tried and thought the atmosphere was not really there and the food although home cooked we thought quite bland. Garlic doughballs didn't taste of garlic, donner pizza, the donner was very dry and for the money should be better as pretty expensive I'm afraid.

We had heard good things about Knead a Slice, so we decided to give it a whirl. You'd expect many places to be busy on a Friday night a few weeks before Christmas, but this place was not. Go figure. The decor is basic cafe style - plain laminate floors, simple tables and chairs, no table cloths. Service was friendly and efficient. The menu offers a range of pizzas, and some pasta dishes. We opted for a Pepperoni and an Allotment ( selection of veg with harissa mayo and peppers in case you're wondering). Both arrived promptly and were piping hot, but nothing special to be honest. The toppings were fine. But the pizza bases were a bit chewy and doughy - maybe the oven not hot enough?? We had a lager and a Sauvignon Blanc to drink, both acceptable but again nothing to write home about. Price wise very reasonable. Overall it was OK but not as good as we expected. As we left shortly before 9 the place was almost empty. Speaks volumes.

We had the Garlic Chicken pizza, some N'duja cheese garlic bread and the monthly special pizza (I think it was pumpkin based). All good was very good! And really reasonable pricing for the volume of food. House lemonade was fantastic too, really zingy! I'd go back for brunch, cocktails or other pizzas!

Stumbled upon this delight. Fluffy and light pizzas. A wide range of toppings. Lovely drinks. Reasonable prices. You can order using a QR code and the food comes quickly. It’s a really decent spot.

Found this eating establishment by chance but such a wonderful find. We went in about 4.30 pm on a Friday, and were iinformed we could either order at the counter or use the q code. Think we surprised the waitress (and ourselves) by using the q code. The food was delivered in a very timely manner and my husband and I both agreed that the pizzas were absolutely first class. We had been to Auckland Castle and realised we would have to visit again as too much to see in one visit - a trip to Knead A Slice will also be a definite on our itinerary when we return.

Popped in a few ago on my own, been wanting to go for a while ordered a shandy and bolognese, very nice, will return to try the pizzas 🍕

Best pizza in the North East! I always enjoy trying the monthly specials as well as the normal menu. They also have a great range of drinks (especially the fresh lemonades!🍋), and the service is always spot on 😊

Never had such a bad breakfast,the eggs were over cooked bacon,sausage were cold,the chips looked like leftovers,very disappointed

Another cute place in Bishop Auckland. Had a great hot chocolate and the good my friends had looked really good and was great portion sizes for a reasonable price.

Fathers day treat to an English breakfast. Very very tasty and quite a decent portion and had a great suprise to see how much bacon I had stacked under my toast. I opted for no tomatoes and just a standard regular English breakfast. Could have been hotter but maybe that was due to four different meals coming out at once to our table This is the best place to eat within the town maybe just off the beaten track but well worth the hunt to find it. Very friendly staff.

I love this place!! The food, staff and ambience were top knotch!! Delicious pizza with perfect dough and a welcoming atmosphere for myself and my 18 month old daughter. Honestly, I can't believe this place is in Bishop auckland!!!

Exceptional service, food was lovely! Best overnight oats i've ever eaten(was prepared beautifully with a selection of fruit and honey on top) my partner said her sausage and bacon sandwich was really nice too, she commented on how good the sausages were(Cumberland), even the tea was "the brew company" brand, it seemed like everything was the best quality available and that they were really trying to provide the best food and drinks they could at the price point, the bill wasn't much anyways in my eyes for what we got so i left them a tip in the tip jar on the way out, oh yes and the toilets where spotless too! Best little cafe i've been in for a long time this one, top marks from me!:-)

I love there food hear as a treet now and the but i do love there mocktails in the summer and there pudding and love that it is dog friendly.

Great place, great food, great staff. No need to let dogs in. I have two dogs but it would be nice to have somewhere without dogs for change.

Got to say that was the best pizza I've had for a very long time, great dough, quality toppings

Quite simply the best hand made pizza you will find outside of Italy. The service and value for money are second to none and the inventiveness of the owners with their new flavour combinations for both food and drinks is inspired. The personal favourite is the garlic bread with cheese, N’duja and honey, it is an inspired combination and never fails to deliver.

Lovely resteraunt, fantastic breakfast and the Italian eggs are beautiful. Nice staff and dog friendly 🙂 can't fault it

We've had pizza and some sides a few time from Knead a Slice, easily the best and tastiest pizza in the county, never mind the town! The fries are awesome also....highly recommended!

We had our staff night out here on Dec 1st. Don't get me wrong the pizza was to die for and the cocktails were lovely as well. However, we ordered our first lot of drinks then waited around half an hour for them to come. The boozy brunch is meant to last 90 mins but we were in there 3 hours!!! And we only got 4 drinks!!! The guy then came up at around 9:45 and told us we had to start going down to pay because they close at 10 pm. Need to sort ya service out im afraid!!

Held our daughters 16th here and she absolutely loved it! The team went above and beyond and we can’t thank them enough! We had a few intolerances and allergies and they took it all in their stride and the mocktails were divine!

Coffee, breakfast or an evening meal. These folks have you covered and its all great quality. Out on its own and away form the main town square but it's worth seaking out.

Food was great, nothing fancy but exactly what you'd expect. Sadly, the venue was very cold as there was no heating on (mid november). Also, the music was very loud to the point where we had to ask for it to be turned down as we couldn't hear each other talk. Sort those 2 things out, and I'd recommend for fresh-made pizza and a decent pint.

First visit to Bishop Auckland and it was pouring down, so we wandered about to kill a bit of time before the Castle opened. Hadn’t intended to go in anywhere but we were so glad we did! Dog friendly, pleasant, quick service and the perfect bacon and egg rolls! Wish we lived closer as I’d really like to try the pizzas and other things on the menu.

Nice little café in Bishop Auckland. If you enjoy traditional English breakfasts then I'd recommend their Big Boy Breakfast. You will not leave hungry or unhappy. Quick service and reasonable value. Definitely worth a visit.

Knead A Slice is fantastic for a Breakfast! The big boy breakfast was excellent and incredible value for money. The only issue and the only reason why its not 5* is that the hot drinks weren't very good, both the tea and coffee just didn't quite taste great. Otherwise, a great experience, friendly staff with excellent food.

An amazing find!! Very dog friendly (treats and puppicinos) and fantastic menu at very affordable prices. The staff are very warm and extremely friendly. Knead a Slice accommodated all of our dietary requirements expertly. Vegan and vegetarian options/alternatives are available for much of the menu. Would highly highly recommend Knead a Slice!! We wanted breakfast before visiting the castle and found this place which perfectly fitted the bill. Plenty of breakfast variety on the menu and we plumped for the full English. Two bacon, two sausages, one egg, 2 hash browns, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, black pudding and toast and butter. Bacon could have done with a couple of mins longer to crisp up the fat and the egg yolk could have been runnier but miner gripes for what was a pretty good breafast reasonably priced.

Tasty pizza, good beers, good service.

We called in from work for a quick bite to eat, we got pepperoni pizza, bolognese pizza, garlic bread with cheese, fries and a couple of drinks. Came to roughly £30 which we found really reasonable for fresh hand made pizza, and the quality was amazing. From ordering to being served took around 15 minutes which is also really great. Staff were super friendly couldn’t have done enough for us.

Just WOW! An unbelievable pizza base with some great topping suggestions. If you’re a fan of spice you need to order the Bravas fries! They’re to die for! Friendly and fast service with a good booking system. Couldn’t recommend higher.

Fantastic brunch today at Knead A Slice, lovely homemade gluten free pizza tasted as good as a normal one, and cocktails to wash it down 🍸 Fantastic staff, great service. Lovely little gem of a place in Bishop! Look forward to coming back again soon

Dropped in for tea when passing through Bishop Auckland. Atmosphere was lovely, relaxed and efficient. Pizzas were freshly made and delicious. We were very happy with finding this restaurant. Don’t often leave reviews but this place deserves a recommendation to others.

Popped in today after work. Absolutely delicious! Lovely decor. Pizza was divine, and the mock tails were super! Highly recommended. Can’t wait to go back!

First time diners here. We drove from an hour away to meet family, who also drove an hour from the other side of Bishop. Cannot fault the food or service at all. Smashing pizzas and lovely staff. We will be visiting again 😊 love the fresh churros too !

It's central location means it's handy to park and meet up with friends straight from work. Coffee was delicious and they offer monthly specials - tonight I got the biscoff latte which didn't disappoint! The staff are always friendly, offering a great service every single visit. Took two pizzas home for a cheat tea - was definitely a hit. Toppings really tasty and the dough was perfect.

Went to have lunch with family, wasn't fancying pizza bit they had plenty of other options on their menu. I had the shirt ribs and mash... Was amazing! Followed by a shared french toast on their brunch menu, what more could you ask for. 10/10

Visited with friends for bottomless brunch. From the start, the service was fantastic and the staff got on to taking orders for our drinks straight away. As the drinks were arriving, the staff took the next order and so on, so we didn't have to wait that long between drinks. The cocktails were delicious too. The pizzas were tasty and obviously fresh and made on premises. The bottomless brunch from start to finish was very good and worth the £30. We are already planning our next visit!
