Been going for nine years,and it's the first time that we have been disappointed,my pizza was very short on toppings,my wife's garlic bread was too thin hard and difficult to eat, the surly attitude of the staff didn't help either.we will be very sadly reluctant to return!!

The quality and consistency of the seafood which we were served was better than anything else we had experienced in this country. The kitchen and front of house are clearly well organised, efficient and attentive. Our table was hosted by Erion, whose formidable attention to detail was as much appreciated as his good humoured and intelligent engagement. We were also fortunate enough to be greeted by the owner, who was obviously keen to ensure that we were being looked after and who takes a conspicuous, deserved pride in his restaurant. Altogether an unexpectedly enjoyable birthday lunch.

This little Italian in Lanchester is one of the few places that really are "doing it right". Excellent service, an interesting and varied menu in a pleasant environment. Very very good for today's restaurant market.

First time visit but following last evening's experience a future favourite of ours. Impressive food, attentive service, combined with a relaxing atmosphere, everything my wife and I enjoy of a restaurant but not always easy to find. Given it was a Monday, it was obvious by the diner numbers, many others share a similar opinion. A gem.

I've never been disappointed during many visits over the years. Consistently high level of food and service. Whether steaks, pizza or pasta...it's all cooked to perfection. Their seafood is fresh and cooked beautifully. Tiramisu is not to be missed...home made and on another level. Perfect balance of coffee, not too sweet. Wine list is well researched and high quality. The service is always excellent. Always busy so best to book.

A great restaurant. Friendly staff, excellent food, good value. If I am in the area again I would definitely return. The kind of restaurant that could quite easily become a real favourite.

Our second visit to Ravello food was amazing staff very friendly we had a great night with family.

My husband and I visited Ravello today with our friends for a late lunch. We had read these previous good reviews. We were not disappointed. From our warm greeting on entering, our very professional waiter and the gorgeous food, it was a truly lovely experience.

Tasty pasta, good pizza, good value.

Ravello is a popular family friendly restaurant - full on a Monday evening. We had two pasta dishes, a couple of glasses of white wine and ice cream for dessert. All really lovely. The service was efficient and friendly

The food and service were amazing

Last time we had meal at Ravello was in August 2020. We had a lovely experience back then and we had the same experience this time round. Food was excellent, service just as good. Top drawer.

Excellent however prices are rising to the point where we would think twice about dining.

Absolutely amazing can never fault it. I have been numerous times and have been blown away every single time by the amazing food. The staff are courteous and friendly. I can not recommend this place enough, I am blown away by not only the food but the customer service experience every single time I have been. I fully recommend this restaurant and single handedly cannot find one fault at all !!!

Our first meal here was absolutely faultless. We had the pate stuffed mushrooms to start, followed by lasagne, bolognese and a side order of garlic bread with cheese. It's a little bit pricier than some places as there isn't a happy hour menu, but for the setting, the service and the food it's definitely worth it. We can't wait to go back.

Our regular Christmas Eve meal with friends. Always excellent food and service.

Fantastic to see a thriving restaurant serving top quality food with a great atmosphere on a very busy early Saturday evening. I started with a whole squid cooked to perfection with white wine garlic and chilli absolutely delicious, so fresh and very tasty. We all had fish from the special menu Swordfish, halibut and salmon all cooked on point with Mediterranean vegetables. We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and the standard of cooking and service are very high. Long may it continue.

Pleasant enough evening last week at this neighborhood restaurant, but after our 4th visit in a year or so, I’m not sure if I’d return. Decor nice, lively atmosphere, midweek when even just half full. Not sure if I’m choosing badly from menu, but I find the food average and the service slightly disinterested. Greeted with a bit of a forced smile and ‘have you booked?’ No warm welcome or ‘good evening’ Garlic bread very nice, mussel starter consisted of tiny (frozen?) overcooked mussels with an abundance of broken shells in bowl and huge slices of partially raw onion in a thick cream. The seafood linguine described as a selection of ‘fish and seafood’ contained zero fish that I could see, it did have the same over cooked mussels in plenty, with pasta in a slightly watery, oily sauce with one prawn and two bits of extremely tough squid along with tomato & chilli. Pizzas that other diners ate seemed decent. Wine was good too. Really want to love it but sadly just always feel rather underwhelmed by the food and service style that is efficient but gives a vibe of ‘get you through the meal, get your bill and get you out’ with no warm interaction to speak of. Bit of a shame really

Quite authentic, good food. (i've been to italy 15 times)

Food was typically Italian but lacked anything special. Garlic bread with cheese would have been getter on all the bread, not just the middle. It was too expensive for a pasta meal.

On a short visit to the area we were recommended to this lovely local restaurant. We booked an early supper (5pm) and had a fabulous meal, great attentive service, food arrived swiftly and was cooked beautifully. Thank you we really enjoyed it and we were impressed to see so many diners on a cold January evening. Well done,🥰🥰

Never been for a long time we only had pasta and pizza but it wash lush one of the best meals we've had for a long time

Really good food and pleasant staff, it’s not difficult to see why this place is always busy they get the basics right. Deserts and coffee always beautiful at the end.

Went to ravello with my dad and grandpa for an evening meal. The restaurant had a very pleasant vibe and the menu was extensive and had plenty of vegetarian options, which was good for me as i am a vegetarian. The food was well presented and tasted Excellent, would highly recommend.

We have ate at Revello's many times and never had a bad experience, the food is always excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend at at time.

Booked table for 3 people at 6pm on Saturday evening we arrived at 5.55 were shown to our table our order for food was not taken until 6.30 we ordered starter and main course. We had just finished our main course at 7.30 when the waiter threw dessert menus on table and said we have someone waiting for your table, another waiter appeared giving same message. We paid bill and left I appreciate they are a busy restaurant and have more than one sitting but 1 hour from ordering to finish main course is a it much. A couple who arrived after us had their starter before our order was taken and were not rushed to give up their table. We have always enjoyed coming to this restaurant the food is very good unfortunately our evening was spoilt by being rushed to give up our table.

If you want authentic Italian food, then this is the place for you. The restaurant is comfortable, has a nice atmosphere and the service is excellent. There is a good food and wine selection, but also a very good 'specials' board. All of the food is to a very high standard. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Latest Update: November '23 - the quality of food and service remains outstanding, and blessed to have such a wonderful restaurant on the doorstep. Tonight's meal of fresh grilled squid followed by Halibut with Spinach was exceptional, and staff were amazing as always. Update July'23 - another fabulous meal for us both, service remains exceptional as us the food. Scallops, with Chirizo and spinach starters then seafood risotto and ribeye on the bone, both cooked to perfection. We'll never tire of coming here whilst this the owners and staff are here! Updated February 2023 - this lovely family friendly restaurant remains a firm favourite and the food is, as ever, amazing, with lovely fresh fish regularly on the specials board . The staff are absolutely wonderful and there is a wide range of wines to suit every taste and budget, including the recent addition of a fabulous organic wine. Love this restaurant - food always great, lovely atmosphere and fantastic staff. Tonight we really enjoyed our fish platter 💕

We booked our meal for the family on 20th October it was for our golden wedding anniversary my husband and I had been many times to Ravello Restaurant and thought it would be perfect for our special night we were not disappointed except for the weather outside storm babet but we coped . There were 11 in our party and booked our meal for 6pm as we had our grandchildren there as well. From the moment we all arrived we were welcomed and shown to our table from then on we had excellent service from the waiters drinks immediately and followed by excellent food starters and main courses a few of us chose from the specials board there was not one of our party who did not enjoy their meal which is bonus for us as we wanted everything to be perfect and it was well done to all the staff and the chefs for making a perfect night for us.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff, plenty room between table's, spotlessly clean and the food is cooked to perfection!

This was our first visit on the recommendation of a friend. We absolutely enjoyed the experience. Everything, the atmosphere, food, and service was great. Background music was not intrusive either.

Super cosy restaurant where we stopped for a quick pizza on the way north. Great to find somewhere Killeen early evening and delighted to find nice linen and table settings and great service. Pizzas and salads were fresh and delicious and service was prompt which was what we needed as we were traveling on. Will definitely return when we have more time to sample the rest of the menu.

Buzzing neighbourhood restaurant in the centre of Lanchester. We’ve eaten here a couple of times in the past, when we have been staying nearby, and it has never disappointed us. Lots of locals eating out, - always a good sign - generous portions, and many Italian classics on the menu. I had sea bass - tasted fresh, and prepared very skilfully.

We didn't have a reservation but were lucky to get the last table in the restaurant. Thank goodness we did as we had a fabulous meal. We didn't order starters tho they looked lovely. We ordered mains planning on having dessert tho in the end we couldn't fit dessert in. All of our meals were large portions and beautifully cooked. My friend didn't like her sauce and when the server realised, he had the kitchen make a different sauce for her. The service was impeccable and the wine exceptional. We were on holiday when we visited so may not ever go again but if you are in the locality you shouldn't miss this gem of a restaurant. Thank you all for a fantastic meal.

Fantastic food, wine and service

Best restaurant in Durham! Had a perfect fillet steak, loved the mushrooms with balsamic and chargrilled slightly on the side. Homemade chips are delish. My partner adores the aubergine parmagiana. The menu has extensive choice, compared with a lot of places. Amazing to see a good selection of unique desserts, again refreshing. I felt well restored after our meal and dessert and well attended to by the dedicated friendly welcoming and professional waiting staff. Would highly recommend. Ceedit where it’s due xx

We came here yesterday for a family dinner as the Greek restaurant we normally go to was unexpectedly closed. My dad does not like change but this place was so great he embraced it. The food is really good, loads of choice and plenty for vegetarians - they also make adjustments (I had carbonara without meat). The staff are outstanding though, really attentive, nothing is a bother, really fast service even though it was busy. Will definitely come again.

A top quality restaurant that is always maintaining the very high standards it has set since opening. We went as a family on a busy Saturday night, the front of house is very efficient and we were immediately shown to our table and quickly served drinks, the specials board has lots of enticing fresh fish with good variety, we ordered and all three of us had delicious food cooked perfectly. We are very lucky to have this high quality establishment in our local village.

A little gem of a restaurant. Nothing flashy but good and tasty food. All the traditional Italian favourites and some interesting specials. The rib eye on the bone is a highlight.

First time here and I wasn’t disappointed. Staff team very friendly and patient with our table, as we couldn’t decide what we wanted. Food ordered and served promptly too. We had vegetarian risotto, tagliatelle, chicken and seafood, each dish was very tasty and well presented. Very reasonably priced and will definitely come here again.

Ravello, is a very good restaurant to go to. The food was outstanding and the service was also outstanding. We went in a group of 5 people. The restaurant was quite busy when we went, however, was still a very nice experience. The let down I experienced, was the noise level, the music and the restaurant are both quite a noisy environment. I’ve been several times and it wasn’t just the once. The music was too loud which was most likely the cause of the noise. The other let down was the size of the table. The size of the tables were quite small and quite compact which meant there was little space. It’s quite a small restaurant. The food for five was also quite pricy coming in at around £44 per person for the meals that we had which included: 4 Starters, 5 Mains, 3 Deserts at 1 bottle of wine, 5 drinks. Apart from this, everything such as seating was comfortable, and overall a very nice restaurant and would recommend going.

Our regular restaurant in the village and couldn't wait for the lasagne again and the charcoal chicken. Very disappointed for first time ever Lasagne was half the size and had zero sauce making it bone fry and in places over cooked. Her charcoal chicken again very small and over cooked Have they changed chef? Hopefully next time it will be spot on again If not...then it's off to a different restaurant.

Enjoyed a nice meal in lanchester with friends. The starter wasn’t the best that’s why I have given a 4 out of 5 and the drinks are very expensive. Potato skins was very hard and crispy bit burnt in places. The main meal was absolutely beautiful very tasty creamy pasta with lots of bacon in it. Probably wouldn’t be my first choice to go back as lots other places serve better at good prices for drinks as well. However the staff are absolutely fantastic

What a great restaurant. Excellent food and impeccable service. The place where we were staying recommended it and it was so good went there twice. Lanchester is lucky to have such a good place. All the waiters were chatty and it was a pleasure to watch such a well run restaurant .

This place is a little hidden gem. The staff couldn't be more attentive, chatty, and funny. They are great. Wonderful selection on the menu and the Specials board and a fantastic wine list. It has a great, warm, friendly atmosphere all around. The tables are well spaced, and it's well decorated. On street parking is available at the front and a car park to the side. We've visited twice now and will certainly be back again.

We dined here twice recently whilst staying nearby at Burnhopeside Hall. The food was excellent and well presented. The restaurant has a good atmosphere & the staff are welcoming, friendly & efficient. Would thoroughly recommend, booking advisable.
