My friends and I decided to visit this tea room for a spot of lunch. It’s a quaint place that’s hidden from the main high street,
The tearoom is welcoming and the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was lovely there was a good selection to choose from and everything was reasonably priced. We decided to have cake afterwards, it took us a few minutes to decide as they all looked delicious, the two we picked were really tasty.
I will be recommending this place to family and friends and will definitely return in the near future!
Now called PLATFORM ONE- Fifteas Vintage Tearoom. Same type of seating indoor and outdoor but a brighter, fresher look with clearer signage. Cornedbeef pie was the order of the day. Nice light pastry and tasty filling. We took some jaffa orange cake back home and it was lovely and moist and delicious. Great pot of tea and a Cappuccino and much better service. A vast improvement on our last visit.
Popped in for a bite to eat and a drink. Both dog and baby friendly. Nice and quick for food to come out. Ordered some cheese on toast which wasn’t on the menu for our little one and they very happily sorted this out and provided childrens cutlery and plates.
Menu says food served till 3pm. I was informed the fryers go off at 1:30 so couldn’t get a bowl of chips. Asked if they had any gluten free non cooked options and that was a no too. Coffee was decent but I felt like they were literally mopping me out of the door at 2pm.
If you want to go home at 2, go home at 2. But don’t dangle a carrot under peoples noses and then take it away. Pointless.
If my staff treated my customers like this I’d have something to say about it.
Avoid.

A family of 20 booked in here for a birthday meal,to make it easier we pre booked food, service was very good & food also very good. My only complaint would be that there were too many tables squeezed into small area,we were that close to back wall people had to crawl under table to go to loo.
Excellent atmosphere if you like thinks old. This place dates back to 1690.
Quiet location with good car parking.
Good food. We had a salad and a pasta that went well together for sharing!
A lovely place to stop for a light snack or tea and cake. Good value, charming staff and exceptionally clean. Plus some lovely characters for people watching 🙂.
