Cafe Interlude in County Durham

Menu says food served till 3pm. I was informed the fryers go off at 1:30 so couldn’t get a bowl of chips. Asked if they had any gluten free non cooked options and that was a no too. Coffee was decent but I felt like they were literally mopping me out of the door at 2pm. If you want to go home at 2, go home at 2. But don’t dangle a carrot under peoples noses and then take it away. Pointless. If my staff treated my customers like this I’d have something to say about it. Avoid.

Went To Jay's Restaurant last night for the first time after a friend recommended it. We will definately be back it was beautiful . We had the Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi and the Chicken Tikka Sri lanka. full of flavour Ten out of Ten .We will be back.

Four of us had starters, mains and sides. Each dish was full of flavour, beautifully cooked and well presented. First time we have been but it won't be the last!

Thank You Again for another lovely meal ... my daughter insisted on drawing her best chef! Me and my family have been customers of Jays Indian for many years! We have enjoyed takeaways and dining in for both small and large gatherings ... Food is always superb and the service is excellent... staff are always so friendly! I highly recommend this place!

Eight of us again went to Jays. After the food came I could have eaten anyone's main course all were excellent. Going again on Friday night with our Wife's

This is a great night out. Restaurant is clean and bright spacious. With 8 of us arriving separately Our waitress attentively took our drinks order. We shared four starters after obligatory poppadum's and pickles, lovely. We all had an excellent meal. lots of this is good, plates looked like they had been licked clean after we finished. Nan breads were gorgeous Rice dishes all different and a great compliment to what was an excellent evening meal. Service was brilliant. A new lady served us with drinks throughout the meal and was very pleasant considering we had all had a few before arriving.

All I can say is what an absolute DISSAPOINTMENT YOU ARE . So looking forward to our Pre orderd pick up all done via your Web site my husband turned up on time and you didn't even have our order . How disorganised can a " takeaway be" . We are really let down and will NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN . Don't take orders if you can't fulfil them . I would not recommend you to anyone .

First time we have used Jay Indian tonight, very easy to order from a very extensive menu via website, food really good and certainly delivered on flavour, good sized portions and everything was piping hot when delivered, certainly will be using again and recommend to anybody to try

I heard from a friend that a cafe in Durham have started serving Sunday lunch, so as my wife is on a shopping weekend in London I decided to give it a try. When I turned up the girl on the counter told me it was for take away and not eat in so I thought ok I’ll take a dinner home. I couldn’t decide on which meat I wanted so she told me I could choose any 2 from the 4 that was on offer. I chose beef and lamb which was served with 5 different veg all piping hot plus roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding. The whole meal was delicious and great value at £5.95. As I was leaving I saw a Cafe Interlude van pull up next to me and the driver got out with what looked like insulated bags so next week I’ll call to see if they deliver and give my wife a treat.

Very clean modern cafe. not what we expected in the middle of a Industrial Estate staff very friendly and helpful food excellent and prices reasonable. would recomend it

Good food freshly prepared and cooked. Not too badly priced. Only let down is plates are chipped mine had 3 chips on it come on get them replaced. Staff eating food whilst serving is not a good look.

Excellent fish and chips, super staff,immaculate premises. What more can you ask for? Give it a try.

We eat at the Cafe about 3 times per week and the food is fantastic. We love the scampi and chips which we treat ourselves too on a Friday but we've never really had a bad meal here. The Paninis, sandwiches and English breakfasts are all great. The food is always fresh and we've never had to complain about the food or how hot it is when we've ordered take out. Worth a visit.

A very clean and tidy establishment with fantastic staff. If you go on a Friday the obvious choice is fish and chips- tastes exactly like they were from the fish shop. A must to visit

This place is a local gem. I go regularly and have never had a bad meal. Fridays are fish and chip day and you will get some of the best fish and chips you will find in the NE for a very modest sum. Staff are superb - kind, thoughtful and attentive.

El maratón de París de haber dirigido el domingo, me sentía un poco de hambre y necesita de un abundante desayuno en la mañana del martes. Por lo tanto café era un interludio fantástica elección. Con el coche en el parking volksparts, entré a la vuelta de la esquina para disfrutar de una excelente relación calidad-precio (5 libras. 50) y la calidad en un completo desayuno inglés, con café. La comida estaba recién preparado, y la presentación era genial, con un toque adicional de leche caliente para el café. Un entorno agradable, con periódicos para arrancar! No puedo creer que me ha llevado tanto tiempo encontrar este lugar, pero sin duda me gustaría volver!

Sentía un poco de pena por mí mismo, no sienta bien.Nevera parecía igualmente sombría, hummus no estaba llamando mi nombre. . . Quería un auténtica comida confort.Parecía online nunca esperaba poder tener una cena con asado entregado!Pedimos carne, fue entregado en el tiempo especificado, bien caliente.Gran parte también! Mucho carne, un flan de Yorkshire, patatas y patatas asadas! Financiarlo, zanahorias y judías verdes con amarre de salsa.Perfecto - sensación mejor ya!Gracias gente - Te mereces hacer muy bien.
