Was at the Wheatsheaf with a large group of friends for their 'Christmas Fayre' lunch. Food was plentiful and superb. Staff were friendly and efficient. I use a wheelchair. A ramp was provided to enable access..
I've used the Red Hut cafe several times and never been disappointed yet. It's completely Covid aware, staff are patient and knowledgeable. I usually order Fish & Chips and they are cooked to order, Always a good size well cooked fish and lovely browned chips. Not much you can say about F & C but they beat renowned Colman's by streets

The desi breakfast is a piss take of £20 with no tea, 1 big paratha, small portion of channa with boiled egg, Achar, halva. Definitely not worth £20 the paratha is so big she can make a thong out of it for her size too. Measly portion of channa and egg, halva too much grease and it doesn't come with tea.
Lovely breakfast today at Biancos. Both of us ordered the easy breakfast. Great customer service as always. Special mention to Claire for making the best coffee I've had all week!
Well, after 64 years on this planet, I may have found the best Indian meal - Shahi Tukra at The Monsoon, Low Fell. We've eaten at this cosy restaurant lots of times, and I've never had a bad one. But this has set a very high standard for every meal to come.
Delicious chicken breast in a lovely sauce including Spanish Onions which just gave it a hint of sweetness among the delightful (medium hot) sauce.
Highly recommended 5* in my books
Disappointed to be told only pork and beef available on arrival at the downstairs bar to pay but decided to go ahead with the carvery anyway, 2 choices better than no choices right?
By the time we got seated and went to the actual carvery the only choice of meat was beef. The dinner was its usual quality and enjoyable but when only one meat available surely a discount should be offered?
What a disappointment!!! Had the quiche and chips with salad, omg it was awful, the chips were terrible, too well overdone, the quiche was also terrible as the pastry wasn’t even cooked, overall the whole meal was just awful …. It is also very cold in the eating area, I was absolutely freezing from the moment I arrived till I left, the staff kept opening the outside doors!!! The staff were not good, young girls who just couldn’t care about you, no one gives eye contact or asks if everything is ok, “how is your meal”? Absolutely nothing !!!!!!! The staff at Sam Turners need some very basic training! ! Will I return? Absolutely not…. If you are reading this review, don’t go…… seriously ………..
We had afternoon tea today and it was absolutely lovely. Our waitress Libby was very attentive and made it a very pleasurable experience. Nothing was too much trouble and the setting was perfect.
Love this place, the rib room is downstairs in the beautiful Hardwick hall hotel & surroundings. The staff are fantastic & the sharing steak for two, was cooked to perfection, wow the whole meal was gorgeous. Nice area out of the way to have peace & quiet & so friendly & welcoming. After we took a walk near the lake & was really lovely to see two weddings happening in the hotel. We got married here 8 years ago & the standards of the hotel never change, just perfect.
Friendly pub. Wine was a good price. We watched the football match, good atmosphere. It was quiet when we were there bit it is often very busy. Some of wooden bench seats uncomfortable.
Superb meal as we have come to expect from our Friday evening meals! We have never had a poor steak here, mind you maybe the restaurant could consider alternative sizes of the steak on offer and the price applicable for the food? It might prove popular?
