Superb meal as we have come to expect from our Friday evening meals! We have never had a poor steak here, mind you maybe the restaurant could consider alternative sizes of the steak on offer and the price applicable for the food? It might prove popular?

Lovely food. We had the ribeye steak, medium rare and it was perfect. The surroundings are bland and not the best atmosphere, but if you want decent food then you can't go wrong with this place. It's really good value for money too.

An excellent night..a groupon present from the grandchildren. Great Steak meal and lovely staff (Stephanie, I think). Not expensive and highly recommended!

Just returned from a meal here. Got a fantastic deal on Groupon for steak and wine for 2. Really enjoyed the food! Steaks cooked perfectly and the chips and onion rings were to die for. Really friendly service. Chloe our waitress was lovely, friendly and very efficient. Nothing was a problem, she made our experience even better. Would certainly recommend and will definitely be returning. Hats off to the chef👨‍🍳 👍

This was our 3rd time to Bazil with groupon voucher last night and we weren’t disappointed. Just gets better and better. The steaks were cooked to perfection, wine was lovely and the girls were absolutely lovely, Laura and Viv, well done you did an amazing job. Compliments to the chef too. We were sad to hear lovely Gabby left but wish her well in her new job and for the future. We will be returning again very soon as this deal is value for money. Bought voucher through groupon for steak n chips with glass of wine. Didn’t know what to expect because deal was an amazing price. We were welcomed by a lovely young waitress called Gabby. She explained the deal. She was very friendly and very helpful. When meal came, steak n chips came with green salad, whole tomato and mushrooms in with the price and was well presented. Steak cooked exactly how we wanted. The wine was absolutely lovely too. Some of our party ordered a dessert. Again well presented. Well done to the chef. We could not fault anything about anything. We are definitely going to return. This was 101% spot on. We would definitely recommend. Have already recommended to lots of friends. Gabby, you did an amazing job and so well, you never stopped all the time we were there, as you had a lot of diners to deal with. And always had time to chat with each n everyone. Well done.

Being an old hand at Groupon deals you wonder how long it will last, the fact, that is, that so far I've not been disappointed by any of the deals I've had. I need not have been concerned because Bazil Brasserie came up trumps, the friendly front of house/barlady/waitress was on the ball. Within a very short time we were welcomed, taken to a table and served with a glass of wine. We decided on starters, for which you pay extra, and the spicy chicken wings arrived without delay - juicy, plump and coated in a superb breaded coating. The hot sauce was just right, not fierce but let you know it was there. Our choice of ribeye steaks followed, with mushrooms, grilled tomato and twice-fried chips, just as we like them. We paid for peppercorn sauce which was just right. Groupon have done it again, a bargain of "how can they do it for such little money" - being £16.50 for two? The extra beers went down a treat also, being reasonably priced. So, might I not have such a good experience next time? I'm not even thinking that way now, I'm a glass half full person from now on. We visited this restaurant as part of a Groupon deal and the food was amazing. Prices for starters and deserts were OK for we ended up having the 3 course meal. Steak we had the rib eye very tasty Dianne sauce was lovely and chips were very nice. Service was good nicely timed and the young lady was lovely nice chatting to her. Will definitely go back again as full paying customer as well worth the money. Enjoyable night lovely food what more can you ask for.

We used a Groupon voucher for a Sirlion or Ribeye Steak with tomato, mushroom and chips with a little salad., yhou could add extra portiongs if required. The steak was superb and cooked to perfection for both of us. (We choose Ribeye) served with a glass of lovely red wine. We even decided to have a desert. I went for the choclate Brownie with Ice cream Its was absoultley delicious Dave went for Lemon tart with fresh cream. Just don,t know how they manage to do this meal for such a good price. Our waitress Gabby was very friendly and informative . Will definetly be back again 10 out of 10

This pub always has a good atmosphere and sells a good Choi of real ales at good prices. It’s a proper pub unlike some noisy establishments.

We visited on a Friday and throughly enjoyed our meal. We had a voucher so excellent value. Our steaks were beautifully cooked and delicious served with lovely crispy chips and juicy baked tomato. Our server was friendly and polite throughout. It was a very cold night but the restaurant was toasty warm and welcoming.

Two of us returned here for an early evening meal using a voucher. We had two sirloin steaks, chips, mushrooms, tomato and a green salad. This was accompanied by a glass of red wine. The meal was very tasty with a tender steak. Our waitress was friendly, pleasant and efficient. We are planning a return visit in the near future.

Visited on Friday night with a groupon voucher for two steak meals with a glass of wine each. The one girl waiting on was a joy, she chatted to everyone, was very helpful and managed to keep everyone happy even though it was quite busy. The steaks were good and the wine was OK too, she kindly gave us another voucher for the same deal if we return again. It was worth the drive from near Amble to get such good service.

Our first visit to Brazil using a groupon deal, relaxing atmosphere, the waitress that served us is such a character made us feel very welcome and made us laugh, so friendly, the starter of pulled pork nachos were amazing such a generous portion too, we also had the potato skins which were lovely, the steak meal was well worth the money paid although he steaks were quite thin I would ask for medium rare next time instead of medium. loved the home cooked chips, the wine included in the meal was also very nice, definitely would recommend and will return... (give your waitress a pay rise! )

Me and my partner visited here with a groupon voucher that my mother in law had got us for Xmas-though the voucher ran out when we originally booked it wasn’t a problem and we booked for a Friday night,we ordered starters the nachos was a huge portion and I had the pate which was nice (though not enough bread)the steaks were lovely and proper what I would call home made chips-and it was a relaxed atmosphere though only a few more tables were in around us,the young lady who served us was lovely pleasent and polite and nothing was too much trouble,we will return here for another meal at some point.

Purchased the steak deal on groupon for 4 people. We had never been before so didn't know what to expect. The staff were friendly especially Gaby the restaurant manager and John the chef and couldn't do enough to make sure everything was fine. The food was lovely and the steaks cooked to perfection and the portion sizes were quite big we couldn't manage a pudding as we were so full. Will definately visit again as the food and atmosphere was excellent

Went here last night with a luving social steak deal. Food was excellent and served by a very friendly and attentive waitress. Clean establishment with nice decor. There were a few people in too. Great value for money.

The place feels “right” – I mean – it’s not tacky; it’s not too push either that you can’t relax. It’s really comfortable to sit and just chill and enjoy your meal. The balance is just about right for the decor. (Mind you – we visited when it was very quiet; maybe if it’s busy it’ll be less “comfortable”) The staff was friendly enough, although she was on her own. Overall the service was good; nothing to complain about. So what was the food like? We had a steak meal that I got from LivingSocial; originally £33 – reduced to £14. Can’t go wrong with the price; but was the steak good? We have to be honest and say – it did not look and feel like the Sirloin we expected. It tasted great, but the portions were rather thin; so thin that we could not really say it was medium-cooked because it was just too thin. Also, my pal said it was rather tough to cut. The chips and mushrooms were nice enough, but we came for the steaks; we would have enjoyed a thicker steak from Tesco – cooked the way we like it. I realize it was a discounted product, but they could have done better. Still – the place is not bad; it’s just the ugly phrase of “boil in a bad come to mind.” I’d probably comeback after I’ve tried all the other restaurants in Whitley Bay

Visited with a groupon voucher for steak and wine. This was a very cheap deal. We ordered extra sides and dessert. Steak cooked well and was plenty of food. Good wine and chocolate brownie. The young waitress was very attentive and friendly, only downside was how quiet the place was. Would return was excellent value.

We have been three or four times for the steak meal with Groupon and have never been disappointed. All four of us enjoyed delicious steaks cooked to our tastes. The Diane sauce was beautiful too. The waitress was very pleasant would definitely go back again.

Two of us returned to Bazil as we had enjoyed our first meal here. We were not disappointed and the ribeye steaks were once again very tasty and cooked to order. They were accompanied by chips, grilled Tomato, mushrooms and a side salad. We had this with a glass of house red wine. We were served by a very friendly and pleasant waitress. We would certainly consider coming back in future and would likely have the steak once more.

The waitress was so lovely and friendly, smiled her way through the service even though she was on her own and struggling between the restaurant and the bar, clearly needed more staff on! But she was an absolute superstar! The food was really fantastic, cooked to perfection and the homemade chips were fab! We were the last to leave the restaurant and the chef came out, he was also very friendly and very humble when he was praised for his food. They are a credit to the Windsor Hotel. We will definitely be back!

We have been to this establishment on previous occasions and we were not disappointed when we last visited. Although ,at times, the place may looked somewhat deserted but the quality of the food remained as good as ever. The wine, now, is served per glass per person but the steak was excellent and succulent and cooked to the order. The mixed seasonal vegetables dish was tasty and a good portion, enough to be shared. The service was fairly good. On the whole, a pleasant evening. Very good food.

The steak was very good, cooked to order, tender and very tasty. All the accompaniments were fresh and the portions were decent. We had a glass of house red to drink. Desserts were very reasonably priced but we only wanted the main course today. Service was quick from a very pleasant and friendly waitress. We will come back in a few weeks as we enjoyed our meal and are happy to recommend Bazil to others eating out in Whitley Bay.

Fuimos con un bono de groupon. No bistec muy grande y duro, pero el acompañamiento no estaba mal. Nos dieron una botella de vino entre dos personas en el precio que no está nada mal en general. Creo que hay muchos mejores Groupon ofrece localmente con la comida de mejor calidad. Fuimos tarde y no estaba muy concurrida, pero no llenar. El entorno era bastante agradable y nos estacionamos justo fuera, aunque está en el aparcamiento en la calle, así que supongo que es un poco impredecible una vez llegue a casa y los residentes. Hablé con una pareja que no ha tenido el bistec con la oferta y les encantó, pero no puedo decir que fue bastante comida típica.

4 of us on a groupon deal went at 6 o'clock on Friday night. No complaints. Steak was lovely as were the proper chips. Waitress was really helpful and pleasant. As we left there were only 2 other couples in restaurant which is a shame because it's nice. A good place to go before a visit to Whitley Bay playhouse which is within walking distance.

We all enjoyed rib eye steaks(6oz) not huge but very tasty and cooked just as we wanted.Accompanied by mushrooms,tomato,salad and homemade chunky chips.We ordered onion rings and homemade coleslaw too at £2.50 each very nice too.The wine also went down well.Our grandson (aged 8) had a kids meal at £5.95 A cheese burger,skinny fries and salad,blackcurrant cordial and chocolate brownie with ice cream.The burger was too big and dry (overcooked) in a very big bun.A smaller,moister burger could have been freshly made at no extra cost and served with beans or peas (8year olds don't go for salad).The chocolate brownie was however went down very well..Being the oyster ones in at 7pm on a Thursday evening we were well looked after by the two staff members on duty.We would go again.

This was our first return visit after at least 5 years. Bazil used to be excellent and affordable. It is now only affordable. When we arrived, a party of 4 was waiting for their meal. Restaurant looked dreadfully empty.Meal this time was acceptable but nothing to write home about. I told the waitress that my green beans were on the under cook side. It's only when I queried what the Chef's replied had been that I was told " this is a matter of opinion, some like their beans more cooked than others" ..... they crunched badly under the tooth and were definitely under cooked. Attitude in the kitchen will have to change and cooks will have to learn to accept customers comments. The most expensive wine on the list (a £21.00 Malbec from Argentina) was disappointing but drinkable. Plates were placed directly on the wooden table and so was the cutlery. A little place mat wouldn't cost much more.Good luck but will have to improve to see us back.

This was the second visit for my husband and I after using a grouping deal in December. This restaurant is lovely just needs more people to visit. We brought our two teenagers with us and waitress very friendly and recalled us from the last visit. Menu is limited but the chef was more than happy to change the starter and my daughter had a larger starter as a main course. I had steak and it was cooked perfectly and my husband had tuna steak which was also perfect and deviated from the set vegetables and sauce and had salad and chips.Will be going regularly as find the other local restaurants very similar and are the same chain of restaurants

Just arrived home from a beautiful steak meal and a lovely bottle of Rose wine at Brazil Brasserie to celebrate our anniversary. We booked for early evening and the waitress was very pleasant and friendly. The service was excellent and decided to go for a sweet afterwards and very enjoyable. Even it if did increase the waistline a little. (It was worth it).As I write this review we are talking about taking a special friend there after Christmas, we just love the place the atmosphere and service is 10 out of 10

We paid for extra duck spring roll starter. Then had steak with trimmings which was all lovely. Washed down by a bottle of red wine. Will definitely be back.

The venue was very nice and the staff were great, friendly and cheerful. Although we were the first people in the restaurant it soon filled up and had a nice atmosphere. My husband purchased a groupon voucher for 2 people to dine here. We were entitled to a steak meal for 2 with a bottle of wine. I have to say that the food was absolutely lovely. I asked for my steak to be well done and it came exactly the way I wanted it. I could not fault the food or the wine. The restaurant was lovely and comfortable and the waitress was very helpful. I was not quite sure what we would get as the voucher was inexpensive but we both had a lovely meal and would certainly recommend this restaurant.

After a late trip from Glasgow to Whitley Bay, I turned up late with a prebooked groupon deal for 1, not sure what to expect. I called to say that I was late and upon arrival, I could not have wished for a more helpful team. No trouble at all and had a lovely dinner with side dishes a plenty.

This is a pleasant restaurant, it has 2 sections more of a formal dining room plus the more relaxed eating area. we were bought a gift voucher for a specific set 2 course meal ,starters of potato skins salad , mains was pasta/pizza both courses cooked well and good portions. They do lovely Afternoon Teas consisting of sandwiches / scones /cakes tea or coffee these seemed very popular as quite few people were having them. They also do steaks/fish good overall menu selection

Walked into dining room with only 4 customers eating. Had to search out kitchen to find any staff. Was seated at now 100% empty dining room. Steak came out, thinnest steak ive ever had. The most random music ive ever heard in my life for 2 lads in their 20s.

4 of us dined at this very elegant venue and experienced an excellent steak offer which was well presented , and served by courteous , friendly and efficient staff. The Valencia wine which accompanied the meal was first class and rounded off what was a very enjoyable evening.

However the wine was really nice, steaks beautiful and really quick and prompt service. pleasantly surprised for a groupon deal as huge portions and really good value. We also bought 2 desserts - choc fudge cake and a choc brownie which were both spot on! only downside was the hotel feel of the restaurant and very quiet made the atmosphere a bit dull. however the service and food made up for this. such a shame was so quiet and hope the restaurant thrives!

We could not believe the shoddy experience we had here.Visited with a Groupon. It was a catalogue of disasters from start to finish. It won't be long before this place goes under, each table was complaining whilst we were there, we even walked out without them wanting our Groupon, the waiter gave up trying to resolve people's complaints.The meal was like something a single parent on a budget would cook. Greasy sweet potato chips, squashed up burgers served in poorly presented buns and low fat yoghurt mixed with natural yoghurt presented in a glass for pudding - disgusting! The only bonus is that we howled with laughter after walking out!

We had the rib eye steak at the Bazil Brasserie tonight 20/11/14, it was the best steak we've had in a good while. My husband and I both asked for medium-rare and got exactly what we wanted. It was served with lovely home made chips, onion rings, really tasty mushrooms, tomato and a side salad. We ordered two sauces the Diane and blue cheese, both complimented the food nicely but the blue cheese sauce was tops! No room for a desert but the house wine that made up for it was perfect. The service was first class (by Gary?? not sure, sorry!), friendly, professional and he is a credit to the hotel. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with touches of art deco here and there on a lovely location right by the seaside. Well done, we will definitely be back!!!

We have been here on a few occasions with a groupon voucher, the food has always been lovely and the staff friendly and polite, the only thing is the service is a little slow, this is a positive as you're not being rushed. The decor is nice but the restaurant is tucked away on South Parade, so if you did not know it was there you would not find it.

Rather disappointed with the afternoon tea. Shop bought pies and no fresh baked cakes. Mr Kipling apple and fruit pie, vienesse whirls, malt loaf etc.The service was however lovely and friendly. Was really disappointed by the afternoon tea at the Brazil Brasserie. As soon as you walk in the door the smell of fish hits you. The decor isn't at all fancy or charming, very simple. Plates and silverware seemed greasy and fingerprinty.Afternoon tea itself was just sandwiches with a single slice of ham or a thin layer of cheese or whatever else. One ingredient per sandwich. Cakes seemed pretty much all store bought. They even put on 2 tiny bits of millionaire bar from those big tubs that M&S and Waitrose sells.

We visited the restaurant as we had purchased a living social voucher, we had a voucher for fish and chips supposedly valued at £27! We had a small glass of house wine which was terrible and over priced, the fish and chips arrived. There were a few homemade chips possibly one potato between us, a few peas and the fish well it was difficult to describe, not sure if it was a frozen fish from either farm foods or Iceland! I find it hard to describe the restaurant as the in place to eat as advertised!!!We will not be returning I can assure you of that!

Been here 3 times the first 2 we're great the red snapper is a must try delish dish. Went here last night for the paella and don't think it was quite as good as the other meals we had, however 2 on our party had ciabatta burgers and really liked those. Service good ambiance good, will return.

For the price the food should be a lot better. Main course undercooked (raw). Desert was a disgrace, not cooked with some yellow gloop pretending to be custard. Waitress very friendly but let down by the kitchen staff. Give it a miss.

Hi I booked the Bazil Restaurant for afternoon tea for myself and a friend for Sunday 29th June, booking accepted and arranged for 3pm. When we got to Bazil there were signs up saying they had a private function o! We went to the Windsor Reception and were told our afternoon tea was now being held in the bar of the Windsor Hotel due to the private function in the Bazil. The bar are is dreary, dull and very green, needs a complete make-over, so this spoilt the start of our afternoon tea. The food itself was very average, a small piece of quiche, sausage roll and some sort of minute pie each along with 3 extremely small buns halved. Coffee was exceptionally strong, then the bit we were looking forward to arrived - the cakes! What a let down that was, one scone halved with a tiny pot of jam and cream between us, a small bit of stale brownie, choc shortbread and some sort of lemon cake (I think), it was so small couldn't really taste it! Overall not good at all, wouldn't go back or recommend it. It was through groupon so whether you get less fresh food and smaller quantities i'm not sure. Regardless certainly not worth the £12 paid.

That was great experience to go to this restaurant. We went on Saturday. We had two starters and goat cheese were amazing. The husband starter ( grilled chicken) was mouth watering. Then we have paella from grupon. It was huge!! Taste excellent. We will back for sure....Just one bad thing....Is 160 miles away from us!!!!!!

Visited the restaurant on two occasions in one week as had bought a groupon for paella and got one as a gift for my birthday or three course healthy lunch, one was on the Wednesday evening we were greeted by a young lady who was so friendly she made you feel comfortable right away, she was very attentive and took time to chat as well as taking your order, the meal was a set meal o paella or two with crust bread but we also ordered a starter each all the meal was presented beautifully and tasted delicious, I told the waitress about my other voucher and asked I it would be too short notice to use it the following Sunday, when we had finished our meal she brought the booking form over without me having to mention it again and sorted out a time for us, she said that she would not be in but hoped we would enjoy our next visit. On the Sunday we were greeted by equally as friendly staff, we both chose different or the three courses but everything we chose was presented beautifully and tasted delicious,

This was the worst food I've ever tasted. I went there with my partner:'Is this supposed to be chicken curry?' she asked. 'No. It's curried chicken,' was her reply. It turns out that marinating it for a bit and passing it off as something else is acceptable. The whole experience was an embarrassment: deep fried food you wouldn't eat at home, let alone pay a chef to prepare, bizarre explanations as to why the food is bland, limp and inedible, woeful, apologetic waiting staff and an apparent chef with no sense of taste or culinary skills or knowledge in a tired and dated setting, was like a deleted episode of Fawlty Towers. Unfortunately, like the said sitcom, this eaterie should be banished to the archives. The only positive I took from the restaurant was that I said my starter was 'surprisingly not as bad as I anticipated.' That's the best I can say. I complained about the 'gloop' that they were passing off as English Mustard. It had no taste whatsoever. I was told that, although it wasn't as sharp as Coleman's (other similar brands of mustard are available), it was still English Mustard and did have a kick. What a ridiculous thing to say - the proof was in the tasting, as well as in the pudding... or not.Dessert - a 'fruit fool' had an ironic twist as well. Cheap-tasting yoghurt. It was disgusting. I was told, after complaining again, that it had all the ingredients a fool should encapsulate. Much like how we felt for buying a Groupon in advance of dining there. I'd never return and I hope this review saves you saying the same.

My husband and myself went with a Groupon voucher for a paella meal for two for £10. We had no great expections of the place, just thought it was a cheap Saturday tea time meal. When we arrived the waiter give us a menu in case we would like to order a starter which we did and my husband asked if he could change his choice from paella to someting else from the menu, this was no problem and he was told that he could have fish and chips or another choice for a small supplement. We were more than happy to pay 4.50 more to change his choice to braised lamb with vegetables. I had smoked salmon and poched egg with hollandise sauce for a starter, my husband had calves liver, both were delicious. The paella for one was huge, so big I couldnt eat it all and full of seafood, clams, mussells, giant prawns and squid along with chicken and chorizo, again delicious. We felt that after such a great meal we had to try the deserts and had ice berry parfait and syrup sponge with custard and they were lovely. The house wine was really good and he two waiters were friendly and accommodating, nothing seemed too much trouble. We arrived at 6pm and there was only another couple who arrived for a meal all the time we were there I felt sorry that the place was so quiet given the standard and presentation of the food. The waiter explained that the restaurant mainly runs on Groupon vouchers which is a shame because we have eaten at much more expensive, high class establishments where the food was no where near the quality of what we were served here.

Out with friends on a groupon voucher we were warmly greeted on entering. The friendly staff were there to take our order and the wine was delicious. After some 40 minutes and watching other parties coming in and being served their meal with no sign of ours appearing our friend went to query what had happened to our order. At first we were told that all the others were having starters and as we were not ours would take longer to cook. This message was then changed to the chef thinking we were having starters and was waiting for our dishes to be returned before serving the main course. The staff were apologetic and when the meal arrived it was delicious - especially the deserts.Such a shame that the lunch was let down by such a slip up.

Also like review below had the healthy 3 course, lovely food, deco,staff couldn't fault it, my wife's main was delayed because of a problem with the oven, you know things happen its how you deal with it that counts and the front of house not only apologized to us he also offered us a glass of wine each, will be visiting again & recommend

Just home after a lovely, healthy family lunch. We went to Bazil using a Groupon voucher for a three course, healthy lunch, for starters two of us had the Louisiana style mussels and two of us had the pear with brie and pistachios and they were both lovely, there was also the additional option of soup.For mains three had the salmon burger and the I had the curried chicken with mango salsa and cous cous, there was another vegetarian option which neither of us had, then for desert three had the raspberry and vanilla fool and one apple crumble with calvados creme fraiche, the whole meal was very, very nice.This isn't the first time we've been to Bazil and it definitely won't be the last, the restaurant decor is clean and modern and the staff are terrific. The young lady that served us was really nice and friendly. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and would recommend this restaurant to everybody.

Visited the restaurant with a Groupon voucher and really enjoyed our meal.Service was excellent and the waitress was very friendly and knowlegable.Starters were very good. Poached duck egg and smoked salmon with dill blini and hollandaise sauce and artichoke soup with fried leeks were our choices. Fish and chips were large portions but the seafood paella was enough for 2. Haven't been to Whitley Bay for a long time but I think we will be returning more often, especially after seeing the new menu.

We had a Groupon voucher for paella, and we really enjoyed it. There was loads of seafood and chicken, it was piping hot and the sauce was lovely. It was a shame that the bread served with it was rock hard! Service was very good and efficient, ambience pleasant. We shared a sweet which was delicious. A minor gripe was that we thought the glasses of wine were a bit expensive. Overall a very pleasant experience and we will be going back.

Went to the Bazil Brasserie as we had a Groupon voucher for Surf and Turf. Ordered starters as an extra which were nice and was looking forward to the Surf and Turf. Wish I had just stopped at the starter. The steak came minus prawns and steak knife. The chips were brown and soggy. When I pointed out the prawn were missing, the member of staff checked our voucher then went into the kitchen to let the chef know. Apparently the member of staff who made my booking had put that it was steak only despite me saying it was surf and turf.By the time the prawns came, complete with shells, I had eaten my steak. (We weren't the only people to complain tonight). The apology from the female member of staff seemed half hearted.Afraid I won't be going back or recommend to anyone. Just pleased I had a Groupon voucher and did not pay full price however I did pay £21.35 on top of the voucher.On the plus side, the decor is lovely. Shame about the food and service

We visited last Wednesday using Groupon for a steak meal. We were the only diners in the restaurant, maybe due to the very wet and windy weather conditions that night. We shared a starter of pate, which was ok, but nothing special. We both enjoyed our steaks, which were cooked exactly as we had asked, with plenty of piping hot home cut chips with mushrooms and tomato. Very tasty.The service was very good, which was expected given that we were the only customers and our waitress, Sarah, was very friendly.. The decor was pleasing, with plenty of Christmas decorations to make the restaurant festive.

We visited last weekend for a meal pre booked with a groupon voucher, however it appeared that we hadn't been booked in for the right meal and were offered an alternative. The service was good, especially Gary who sorted the problem with the booking and got us booked in on another date in the future. The meal we had on the day was lovely and of good quality. We look forward to our booking in the new year. Thanks.

Visit it bazil with a wowcher voucher for Sunday lunch.Was a bit aprehensive after reading the reviews,but couldn't have been better.Food was very nice, plenty beef on dinner which was tender and tasty.My partner had sticky toffee pudding with butter toffee sauce which was the best he's had,so he said. I only had coffee as I was full after my soup and roast beef.Staff were very friendly,I have nothing negative to say.

My husband & I have been to the Windsor on many occasions and have enjoyed every meal we have had there. We can't complain about the service either always been polite & efficient, well apart from once when the waitress remarked after we had finished our meal "oh you were hungery, weren't you". Very rude and inappropriate statement! When I read some previous reviews, some made comments about the dirty windows but did not add that there is building work going on across the road . When my neighbour was having building work done it is almost impossible to keep the windows clean because of the constant dust. we wil definately be returning to.this restaurant.

Went to windsor hotel Whitley Bay for sunday lunch. Very disappointed with food. Bland and tasteless. They had no white wine! There was no ambience at all. No background music. There was very loud music and laughing from kitchen thought. We did not get cutlery for desert, asked twice. Its shabby and dated. The windows were dirty, the very young staff didn't have a clue. Very disappointed and will not return

We had Sunday lunch here today using a voucher deal for two that included a starter, main and dessert with tea & coffee. All I can say is Wow! This was a lovely meal that was superb value.Starters: Cream of Vegetable soup and a platter of Olives and Humous.Main: Boiled and roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, Carrots, Broccoli and Cauliflower with our choices of Salmon for one and Vegetarian for the other.Dessert: Chocolate fudge Brownie with Ice cream and plain Ice cream for the other.Honourable mentions for the Salmon with Hollandaise sauce which my companion paused just long enough between mouthfuls to say was delicious and for me it was the vegetables which were cooked but still had firmness rather than being soft and mushy which is to frequently the case in restaurants.The brasserie was busy but the four staff kept our meal moving without being pushy or to slow. They were also very cheerful and pleasant to us both and this was appreciated, I can't give names as there were no name badges.I will definitely go back.

I went here with my partner on a groupon deal for Paella for 2. We were very apprehensive after reading previous reviews but can honestly say we had a lovely meal. The service was excellent and place was really busy but we didn't have to wait too long. We shared a starter of pate which was really nice then had the paella which was enormous!4 lovely king prawns on top and lots of seafood. Couldn't eat it all so we brought what was left home.The only complaint I had was that the lights were very bright but apart from that had an enjoyable meal.Seems to be mixed reviews about this place but I would certainly go back.

I have written 70 reviews for trip advisor, most of them positive, this is the first time in my entire dining life I have sent both my drink and my entire meal back and left hungry. I ordered the mushroom soup to start which was so over seasoned all you could taste was pepper, I did eat this but remained worried about the main course as we could see other couples complaining about the food. I ordered a pint of lager to go with my Sunday lunch and it had a bitter banana like taste so I sent it back. My dinner,,,,,,,,,,, the Yorkshire pudding was so cold it felt like it had been refrigerated, the stuffing was the same, the gravy was tepid and oily, the roast potatoes were soft and mushy, there was a layer of gelatinous fat on my meat, the broccoli was boiled within an inch of its life and was limp and colorless. On the way into this place we noticed that the large glass windows in the entrance were very dirty and had lots of remains of stickers where old posters might have been. There was a lamp shade missing from one of the wall lights, the carpet in the main eating area was covered in crumbs and food debris. I complained to the manager handed back the food and left. We couldn't really fault the service in this place but the food was truly terrible.

Went for sunday lunch using a wowcher deal on sunday 9th sept.Waited over an hour for main course.When it finally arrived the mashed potato was like water,the chicken was like leather,the veg were stewed to mush,the roasties were like stones and the only excuse the waiter could come up with was to ask if we would go back the following sunday so they could try again.Needless to say we were not prepared to waste another sunday afternoon so we left thereafter with no apology.I have since emailed the hotel and wowcher and to date have received no refund.It seems to me these 2 companies are well suited to each other.

Enjoyed a lovely meal with my partner and my parents here as part of a groupon steak meal, initially no reference to my booking but they said this wasn't a problem since they had plenty room. Steak was perfectly cooked and all accompaniments were freshly cooked and piping hot. Staff friendly and price reasonable.

14 September four of us had paella and bread. On a groupon we all bought starters which were very good also three of us had pudding all good from chap on reception to the waitress and waiter. Great

Restaurant within the Windsor Hotel. Pleasant lunch with hubby. Staff very friendly and efficient. Starter of cajun wedges was good and hubby had mushroom soup which was ok. Both had roast beef - and we were very pleased with our meal - well presented, vegetables cooked well. Only negative for me was desert, the strawberries and cream which were served in a sundae dish with the stalks on - I found it awkward to eat and had to resort to using my fingers to pick up strawberries dripping in cream to remove stalks as it was impossible to use a spoon for this. Overall a pleasant meal and good value.
