Whenever getting a takeaway of this kind I always choose oriental kitchen everything on the menu is a 5 star dish and I am not lying been my local takeaway till I recently moved and I still choose it every time I want a takeaway because it is that good and will knock your socks off.

First time here, on recommendation. Food was hot, fresh and lovely. This will be our new Chinese takeaway now. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

I've been using Oriental Kitchen for years. Never had a bad meal from them. Pleasant staff on the phone... and the delivery guy is also a nice chap. The Satay Beef is especially good.

Disgusting £20 for Chicken balls 2 cans of pop Wownot even enough for 2 kids nd Norham Road is not Percy Main

Lunch time specials on a thursday and friday... excellent value for money and excellent food

Some cold and some parts piping hot and god knows what they did to the crispy wontons... never again.

Been a customer here for years but now have to find a new Chinese takeaway…it can’t be that difficult to write down a telephone order; please don’t write down your interpretation of what I asked for then send the wrong dish, expect ME to return it back to you at 9:45pm before considering replacing it for what I actually asked for?!?!

Only had the chicken curry lunch time special but it was very nice.

sweet n sour ribs tasted like old hog , house special curry tiny bits of meat and not enough sauce , , , AND £17,50 for the crap !

I have just ordered from here to be told we had better hurry up as they were closing. Got home about 2minute drive to find the rice is stone cold. They must have cut the beef off the fat as was all that was in the dish and the curry sauce was possibly just dish water. Its all bagged up ready to return tomorrow.

Food is delicious every time and always tastes fresh, with quick and helpful staff. Definitely would recommend.

Staff are pleasant. The food is not. Ordered over the counter, payed and left with my bag of food. Got home - Opened the dishes and was aware of a strong sour smell Chips - were ok but you can tell they were reheated Chow mien- chicken looked a weird colour rubbery and unappealing. Very greasy and slimy had a sour smell. I didn’t take the risk to try it. The fried rice - was burnt and greasy again didn’t take any risks. The mini spring rolls - look like they have been reheated 3 times - soft and stale tried one and it was not consumable - spat the rest out. Curry sauce was ok. Wouldn’t recommend. Payed £15 for something that’s gone in the bin.

Not had a Chinese for a while but opted for our old favourite and we weren’t disappointed ! We ordered in advance and we were advised they were very busy with pre orders but would deliver it as close to our time as they could. It was only 10 mins out which was better than we had thought. Food was red hot, packed well and more importantly absolutely gorgeous. We won’t leave it so long for our next one that’s for sure ! Thank you

Order food from here got home ribs had no meat on them chow main had no taste to many onions chips burnt went in the bin waste of 17 pounds would no recommend this place.

Absolutely amazing food. Been there 3 times in the past week. They deliver, and have collection. Highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken, fried rice and curry sauce. My friends say, the noodles, salt and pepper chips and gravy is A*

My gf lived in New York and the food from there was magic best in area by far now we get it delivered and it’s always spot on.

Good Chinese, we are regulars for the King Prawn and Chicken fried rice

6 mins to be delivered, rice cold chicken balls very doughy and was funny shape. Did not enjoy, in fact went in the bin.

We have been using this takeaway for 10 years now and it has never let us down. The meals are all delicious, authentic and always delivered fresh and piping hot. They have an extensive menu and the thai dishes are particularly good and the prices are very reasonable too. What's not to like!

I once lived in New York and this is by far the best takeaway in the area by miles l now live in tynemouth miss the oriental kitchen takeaways and the young lasses services always helpful and fast service like Rambo said I will be back in the new year roll on 2018

Never had a bad meal from here! It used to be our local until we moved, now we drive over from Wallsend because we can't find another one to better it. Food is always amazing and the salt and pepper chips are the best we've had.

I have in years gone by ordered food from Oriental Kitchen a lot, when we order food on a week night it is really nice well cooked warm and usually we have none left. However on a weekend night every time we order the food is no where near as nice. Dry cold rice looking very unappealing, thick curry that looks like it has stood far too long and the chow mien rushed and undercooked. So sad as we have used for a longtime but think we are going to look round for a new local Chinese Takeaway. :-(

Been here a few times now. The Thai dishes are some of the best I have ever tasted. Superb food and great value for money. Give it a visit and I promise that you will not be disappointed.

With this being just around the corner, me & the missus order quite regularly from here. If you want a guaranteed decent takeaway then this is your place. It's not amazing, however it's not horrible. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Reasonably quick delivery, but totally average Chinese meal. The price was fairly cheap so get what you pay for.

The duck fried rice is amazing, large chunks of duck and cooked to perfection. The honey ribs are just as good large portions and excellent value for money. Please put on menu! Oriental Kitchen are very accommodating if things are not on menu. Highly recommended...

This is not something I usually do but our experience of this chinese takeaway was so bad that I felt I had to share it. Where do I start...watery/tasteless/rubbery/cold need I continue?My advice to anyone considering using this takeaway is DON'T DO IT.

As the title states , this is my local takeaway in my villlage of New York , well worth the visit , Iam currently working my way through the extensive menu or certainly trying too lol, Even if you don't know what you want , Let the fab smiley Tracy ( front of House ) help you decide with her vast menu knowledge , there's too much choice , iam going to be like 90 stone soon ,But honestly if your looking for fab tasty food look no further than here , you will not be dissapointed , all served up by a good friend Tracy with the Huuuuuuuge Smile lol Ken x

I choose this takeaway everytime i fancy chinese food. There are a couple of very good reasons for this....the food served is simply amazing, I experimented with a number of different meals over time and have never ever been disappointed with the meal I chose. The service provided by Tracy behind the counter is second to none and she always has a big smile and is very welcoming to customers, which is very refreshing especially late on a Saturday night!! The service from her is absolutely top notch!! I would sincerely recommend this little gem of the east to everyone. If you are not from the New York area I would definately advise taking the trip...you will not be disappointed. My personal rating of my experiences of Oriental Kitchen is a very easy 10/10. Massive thanks to all the staff for making me and my partners experiences there a complete joy!

We have used Oriental kitchen for several years ( just never thought to review it ) Never had a problem with the person answering the phone ? Food has always been hot, decent & plentiful.My only issue is the fried rice isn't go my taste although the rest of our household have no issue with it.Recent order was king prawn chow mein which had plenty of prawns and was a nice generous portion. Hubby had KP egg foo yung and fried rice which he enjoyed as always. We've never had a bad meal but I wouldn't say it was anything special either.Good value reliable and consistent so we continue to use.

My husband and I regularly order from the Oriental Kitchen, and have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and the food is fresh and delicious.

I don't no how any body can say it's the best I thought it was the worst one I had and house special fried rice might as well been egg fried rice was awful so was chips curry never again

I see that some other customer has had the same service from thr receptionist at this takeaway.I am quite surprised. As most of the other takeaways were closed we returned to the Oriental expecting more rudeness. In fact theey had changed the front line and a young male answered the 'phone. He could not have been more polite and I guess I have just been luck, the lady has not been heard of since she was so rude. I thought she had been replaced totally.The food continues to be good, bordering on excellent at times and this is helped when the staff are courteous.

The food is alright if not a little overpriced. I've used this takeaway lots of times over the years and the only thing that puts me off is the rudeness of the lady (called Linda I believe) on the front counter. I was not surprised to see someone else bring this up in a review. If you think she's rude on the phone, try popping in! Every time I go in she looks and treats me like I've stood in something, brought it in with me, then smeared it on the walls while sticking the vs up at her. Which I don't by the way.

We were recommended this place by a friend and always have a good meal from here,very generous portions and always very busy.

The food from this takeaway is excellent. Delivery is usually on time or early. It is let down by the rudeness of the lady taking the order. Her manner is abrupt, rude and unprofessional. if you are sent the wrong order you have no chance of a correct replacement. Just the phone put down on you.We have used this establishment for several years but never again.

I simply would not go anywhere else in North Shields for Chinese Take Away.Always busy, but always on time and never disappointed.
