over 10 pounds for a special curry and fried frice.. got a container of curry with tiny amounts of meat swimming in sauce . may aswell of orderd a tub of curry and fried rice... neva known a chinese to be as tight with meat in me life...wont be back

Disappointed by food. Char Sui fried rice far too salty. Prawn Toasts were soggy.

Prawn Cracker has always been my favourite Chinese and I'm so glad they are finally on just eat.

overall nice and tasty food. unfortunately our salt and pepper munch box was missing chicken balls and salt and pepper chicken. if munch box would be delivered full, then deffo 5 stars but for this, just rice, noodles and curry sauce I can't give 5 stars

Got a chow main there was hardly nowt in it was half a carton not happy that’s twice this week and last week small it never ever was like that they were always full 😢

Bought x2 salt n pepper munch boxes! They were amazing also love the Stir Fried Chicken Black Bean and egg foo yung and the curry sauce is the best. 100% recommend!🤩

I don't hesitate to say this was the best takeawy I've ever had ! It took a long time to arrive and the explnation was odd - they said they had a long way to travel - restaurant only streets away from address so not sure which route they used. (Like a very long time !) However forgive that and celebrate the great food. Sadly only in N.Shields visiting family but next time we are there we will be using the Prawn Cracker !

Service was very friendly, the staff saw i had a disability enter the shop they quickly came over to help me with no hesitations. The food is the best, many choices to choose. Food was still piping hot when i got myself home. Considering my disability took longer to walk. I highly recommend the house special chow mein and prawn toasts. I also tried the hometown curry. It was very special flavour and will definitely come again.

Very nice selections of chinese food. The munch box was very big portions, we order one of each the salt and chilli the garlic butter and deluxe for a small gathering we had. Everyone all thoroughly enjoyed it. The prawn crackers was very fresh. Highly recommended

Chips were appauling and i collected them on opening at 6pm so no excuse chicken was like rubber and what a rip off with the curry they are the most expensive in north shields and yet the curry pot was only 3 quaters full. Sad to say will never return

Drove past this place and thought give it a go. Its been awhile i have any takeouts. The food i ordered was the salt and chilli platter. The picture looked yum and yes it was very delicious. Was plenty to share. Big portions. Definitely recommend. 10/10

Ordered the deluxe munch box and it was GORGEOUS. Definitely worth the money and I'd recommend it to anyone. The lady who I talked to there was also very sweet 😁

Had the special foo yung with salt and chilli chips and the curry was to die for. Staff was amazing with the cleanliness for the COVID-19. Sanitisers was available to use on entry of the shop. The screen guard up, we ordered our food, pay contactless, sanitise our hands and wait in the car to b called ready to collect. Great 10star service

I have ordered from here 3 times thinking that maybe the first 2 times were just a fluke that the food was not always bad but i was wrong oh stay away from the side dishes the chips were so bad all dry & as if they had been reheated multiple times small portion & the curry was like water I did not feel good the next day so i will not return to this again its a shame i did give them another go but they failed

Best Munchie boxes, big portions, can be late during the peak times but they always ring to reassure my order is coming. Definitely good customer service.

If you want spicy this is the place mouth watering Suzan may need ambulances after one mouth full think they just make it up would not go back

Amazing food, bargain deal on weds

Apart from the delivery driver being an absolute boyo the food was rank. Got crispy sweet chilli chicken and it was not quite crispy but was soggy and the chicken tasted like pidgeon. Chips definitely reheated mediocre curry sauce fried rice tasted bit off and to top it all of the “prawn crackers” nearly took me molars out. Me and the girlfriend are sat in bed fingers crossed we don’t have an internal exorcism tomorrow morning. Don’t go here it’s mingin.

Very disappointed with chilli content of Szechuan House Special. Lots of chewy meat and where are the chillis ?. The province is renowned for its use of chillis and this was a major let down bland and chilli free.

The Prawn Cracker is one of the best, if not the best in North Shields. The food is fab, tasty and delicious. Home delivery is available which is not something most Chinese takeaway offer. Love the food, love the staff who really appreciate regular customers. I regularly ordered by phone but on my way home one night I called in and was recognised by my voice. That's what I call service. Try the Prawn Cracker, you won't be disappointed. Sue Faller

Would never have eaten anything from here if I'd known about their appalling food hygiene. Won't be risking it again any time soon, should be ashamed of themselves.

Lost Customer. Foods always lovely and use most weekends. Today I was 10p short when I arrived on an order of over £20. The lad made me drive home to get it. Such a shame but going elsewhere from now on! In fairness they have now contacted me and apologised for mis-understanding

0 FOOD HYGIENE RATING. ZERO!!!!!! All other reviews are fake posted by staff of this place. Funny how they all have 8 thumbs up? Obviously 8 different accounts that also posted 5 star reviews. I will be reporting this place as it's disgusting and on top of that you're trying to make yourselves look better rather than fixing your business.

First time ordering from here after a few recommendations, totally impressed. Food was delicious, service was helpful and ordering through the website was easy to pay and will order again.

Plenty choices on the menu, prices are reasonable. My favourite is Deluxe munch box. Really nice fresh prawn toasts, tempura prawns. Love my seafood. Special fried rice is very nice with big prawns in a big round tray portions. Chips are very crispy and fluffy soft potato inside. My every week go to Chinese in North Shields best around.

Thanks again for the great food, I come every week. Food is always freshly cooked. Perfect size portions. New menu has many choices for me to scan through. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My always to go to chinese in the area. Easily online order to collect or delivered to my home. Perfect timing each time, pipping hot food arriving on my door step. Bonus free fortune cookies that my boy is always happy to get.

Ordered meal at six to be delivered, told it would be an hour, arrived at 7.40pm. Duck for starters - more fat than duck, was not shredded but hacked into pieces accompanied by half a small tub of hoisin sauce. Main meal House Special Fired rice - more rice than meat. Chips had been re-heated only decent thing was the curry sauce which I have now had with home made chips. In all worst meal I have ever had and I usually have had no problem with the delivery or quality of food.

a busy takeaway in the heart of north shields. worth the time to wait, its always a waiting time but my goodness its always cooked to perfection. freshly made, extremely nice staffs, who gives a very friendly face and a nice chat whenever im down. i travel 30 minutes to drive to get my delicious chinese every time. best chow mein, best salt and chilli special fried rice. huge batter chicken is everyones favourite, makes me droolin when im typin this. goin to place my order now haha

Small portions and stale prawn crackers. I was charged 80p to make my dish hotter. At this price l thought l would get a least some fresh chillies. What l did get was a dollop of greasy chilli oil.

Top quality, the meats are cooked to perfection. Not rubbery like other chinese use cheap meats. If you like king prawns they give very generous amount of king prawns, big and fresh. My all time favourite salt and chilli king prawns, special fried rice. Curry is awesome, usually ask for extra hot. Thank you for the fortune cookies it’s a treat and fresh prawn crackers.

When i was eating the food it felt like i was doing a bushtrucker trail it was that bad. The duck wasn't even cooked it and i found a head full of hair in my food. Bloody horrible it was, NEVER AGAIN!

Fresh food, good quality and most of all Great Service from the staff and HUGE Compliments to the Chef, whose very friendly makes fresh Chinese cuisines. My favourite from here is the House Special Chow Mein and the Crispy Beef Cantonese 😋

Got sweet n sour house special. A tub of sweet syrup with one pineapple chunk and nothing else in it. Batter on a few assorted meats was super greasy. Contained two prawns pressed chicken. Chips were reheated. Never again.

The takeaway is not very far from where I live, the food has been good and I enjoyed it. Too many carrots - if you LOVE carrots, this will be the place as they put quite a lot of carrots

Ive been using prawn cracker. For a few years now and never had a problem. The food is always super fresh the staff are lovelly and will so even special orders for you if you do or dont like something. The chef and owner are lovelly people . the food having tried a few in the area i can honestly say its perfect and good value for money with hige portions !! As i say i have eaten here many many. Times and have no complaints at all .

We have used this place for a long time now. Never once had a problem and find both owner and staff to be brilliant. Very accomadating with akward orders and always happy to make what you want and most importantly how you want it. Great quality. Great prices and could not ask for more. Not tried any others locally but if im honest i have no reason to. Credit to the staff here . always made our visit a plesant one and served fantastic food

I have been using the Prawn Cracker for a number of years and have never been let down standard food but good portions and tasty. Spare ribs are excellent and the curry is not bad either. Two meat curry is my favourite and always goes down well. Delivery if you want it.

EXCELLENT food.......but 1.50 to deliver a meal to a disabled person only 50 or 60 yards away....not good!!!!!!

I was at a friends house a week ago and she suggested getting a meal from Prawn Crackers and she also suggested what to order, I was open minded and to my surprise I throughly enjoyed it. I then ordered a couple of nights ago from there and they were really quick in having the food ready to collect, I had exactly the same meal as I did a week ago as I enjoyed it that much however the beef in the dish had a massive bone in it which I didn't notice until it was in my mouth. I do know these things just accidentally happen, but the thought of having the same problem again scares me to reorder. I had to chuck the rest of my meal out as it made me violently sick.

Never heard of the honey chilli dish before, but the name sounded tasty so I tried it for the first time last night, OMG it was absolutely amazing. plus the salt and chilli chips was a bomber, it went down very well with my can. very satisfied. well worth it.

I popped into this place as recomended by many of my friends and i fi ally got the chance to go. They are the nicest family ran business ive experienced. The chef even came out to chat and make me feel welcome. The food was outstanding and you can tell its top quality. I ordered for a few of us and not one single complaint. Portion sizes were impressive and cooked fresh. Deffinatly going to eat here regularly. Best in the area many thanks

I had food from here 2 nights ago the food tasted strange, and i still feel ill from it. Tried to go out for a meal last night and had to come home before i got there as i was sick! Dont recomend this place at all

I will say this again for the second time .this chinese is rubbish. I bought a beef satay and got dog .do not go here When i complained they did nothing and were rude .people will eat anything when there drunk .avoid like the plague
