Well, 1 out of 3 meals was the ordered dish, but that wasn’t enjoyed. Totally wrong meat choice on mine; chicken is not beef. Attitude and dismissive attitude of front of house is terrible. Never ever to be revisited. Avoid and eat elsewhere.

Really not impressed. I was looking forward to finding a decent Chinese place near me but this isn't it. Horrible customer service, too.

I my daughter, and her partner, are visitors to this area. All we can say about this takeaway is the food is excellent, very reasonably priced and cooked to order. Basically as good as it gets. Also this gem of a place has the most extensive menu for a Chinese takeaway I have ever seen. Yes all three of us think this takeaway is top class by any standards. Well worth a visit.

Our go to Chinese takeaway. Always beautifully cooked and awesome flavours. The banquets are amazing. Couldn't recommend more highly. They deliver too.

Tried Oriental Garden for first time on Saturday. The food is outstanding. Sadly and chilli pepper chicken is incredible. And King Prawns in Cantonese sauce were gorgeous. Highly recommended.

This is by far the best Chinese, food is always beautiful and tasty, love the king prawn chicken in black bean sauce, my favourite Chinese Oriental Garden…5 star

Fab food always. They kept us going through out Covid. Food is good value and very tasty. Best to phone well in advance as they get so busy and you will have to wait a while. The lady who answers the phone can be a bit abrupt.

I used this takeaway for the first time a few weeks ago and the food was lovely. Unfortunately though, one main and one side dish were missing from the order, despite having being paid for. I only noticed the missing items when I arrived home, so had to make a double journey. 1 star lost

Rang bang on 17:30 for them opening to order a meal rang them again at 18:30 to be told won't be long 1915 still waiting. Never again as previous comments have said. Never use again ever. You've had ya chance and blew it. If not here by 19:30 I'll cancel the meal. Very disappointed with the service

Ordered our food 5 minutes after the takeaway opened. 2 hours later we are still waiting for our food. I have rang the shop to be told it wont be long. That was 1 hour ago. We WONT be using this takeaway again. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Fantastic food this evening. Chow mein, curry sauce, chips, rice, Kung Bo Chicken and crispy tofu. All delicious, however tofu was not that crispy-still good though. Also have won tons which were very tasty. Takes American Express. Delivery or collection to WB.

Hugely overpriced for the size of the meals, food was okay but nothing special. The wait time was beyond a joke, after a couple of phone calls being told both times the food was on the way but still hadn't arrived, we called back and questioned again whether it had actually left the shop. The lady on the telephone was extremely rude and proceeded to hang up for the second time. We will not be returning.

After being lied to twice on the phone and hung up on twice after being a customer for for nearly 10 years I will not be returning. The lady on the phone is very very rude I can't believe she works in customer service.

After using through place for nearly 10 years u can't believe how rude the lady that works nights is getting. She is horrid I can see her becoming the poison that spreads and kills a buisness.

We moved to the area in the last few months and have tried a few Chinese takeaways trying to find ‘the one’. This is it. The food is DELICIOUS. So fresh and tasty, they have the best vegetarian selection I’ve found and the addition of fortune cookies in every order is a lovely touch. Won’t go anywhere else. Perfection.

Food is very good quality, always cooked to perfection and very tasty. Definitely one of the better Chinese's out there. Lunch time specials really good value and excellent selection of dishes too. I have however knocked off one star because charging £4.50 for hot and sour soup is grossly over priced. Two soups nine quid! I can't find another takeaway charging this, even the mandarin sit in restaurant in Cramlington only charge £3.80. come on guys charge a fair price or you'll lose custom.

I went there yesterday.they said 40 minutes, i new they were busy so i said ok. hour and half later still waiting.other people we're waiting longer.spoiled our night.they will not get the opportunity to spoil another one.

Lovely food, but I found the curry too hot for a normal chinese curry.

Doesn't even deserve one star after the fantastic customer service I have just experienced. Been a long time customer as parents in law live extremely close and has always been lovely food but will never use them again after today. There I was looking at the lunchtime menu in the window (face cover on) and the member of staff walks across to the door and turns their open sign to closed, not even an acknowledgement of a customer looking at their menu before just closing. One long serving customer that won't be returning!

This was our first visit to the Oriental garden takeaway and will definitely not be our last. Collected on time with excellent social distancing system. The food was amazing with excellent quality and portions. The stirfry King Prawns with szechuan sauce was my favourite. Will be recommending to my friends. Thank you so much for providing such an a quality service at this time.

This was the first time I have used this Chinese and I must say I was not disappointed, I will definitely be ordering again. We ordered Chicken curry and Special Chow Mein both were delicious! I would have gave 5 stars but had to give 4 because the food was only slightly warm and we had to heat it up . However it still was delicious 😋

Ordered a meal for 4 of us to be delivered to holiday park.told 20 minutes.has to phone them after @ 45 minute wait.never tasted rice like it.was smoggy and watery.was disgusting.curry sauce seemed as though it had been watered down and was tasteless.prawns were supposed to be crispy and were so greasy it left a horrible taste in your mouth.curries were very bland.very very disappointed.look around for a better one

Ordered a delivery to our caravan in Whitley Bay. First class service, friendly delivery service and the food was beyond delicious. Fed 5 very hungry people for £42. Amazing value and exceptionally tasty food. A must have meal for people on holiday.

We have used this takeaway for over 15 years.I swear it has been the same guy who has delivered to us throughout that time but I have never got his name.He is very friendly and always has a little chat when he delivers the food.We have tried other takeaways but always went back to the Oriental Garden.Good food and great service who could ask for more.

Me and a few friends decided to visit after having a few drinks in The Monkseaton Arms. We got curry fried rice and chips as they were closing up. We got the food and it looked ok so ate it. Unfortunately the next day I had a bad belly all day and was constantly on the pot. I must have lost 6lbs, my starfish was red raw and quite angry, the only reason I know it was the Chinese is because my mate went through the same events. Will not be returning.

The food is below average. The woman behind the counter is just plain rude. I live practically opposite and I travel further afield for decent food and good service. Go somewhere else!

Average Chinese takeaway that used to be Excellent, before changing hands.

I have been visiting this takeaway for around a year now on a 3 weekly basis. I always order between 3 to 8, lunchtime specials and take them to work for my fellow shift workers. There has never been any mistakes and the food has always been absolutely spot on. My co workers are not the happiest bunch and would complain in an instant if anything was wrong. Helen even ordered different take away containers in, especially (non foil) as she knew we were reheating the food in a microwave. Good service and good quality food. Highly recommended. We tried this Takeaway for the first time this evening and can honestly say it is possibly the best Chinese meal we have ever eaten, Excellent food, good portions and piping hot, delivered well within given time, would recommend to anyone and will definitely be using this takeaway again.

I have been a customer for years and years. Used to be brilliant now going sharply downhill! Prices going up and quality going down hope they actually read these reviews as it seems to be a common consensus about price and quality.

Getting greedy, quality / content of dishes being reduced whilst prices are up significantly. No longer my regular choice I go elseware

service is excellent - very quick but c an get very busy at certain times loke all takeaways - if you like prawns, the meal I had on Friday were 'huge'

Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls with fried rice. The S&S; sauce was watery and over-sour, whilst the rice was congealed and sickly. Service was also fairly unenthusiastic and ill-mannered.

We go here often and the food is always excellent. The quality is first class and the portions are a good size. Delivery is available and they are open Thursday and Friday lunchtime.

Rather expensive middle of the road meal tasteless without the curry sauce. I have used the, before and would have rated higher on other occasions maybe they were having an off day

Stayed in Whitley Bay with a friend and enjoyed a great meal. The choice on the menu is amazing and including Thai food available too.

Use this Chinese once a week and have had pretty much everything they do over the years! Vegetables always fresh and crunchy, superb food. The banana fritters are unbelievable!! Highly recommend

My friend lives in Whitley Bay he asked me to stay for dinner - He ordered Chicken fried rice, ribs beef curry and chips, rotten!

Te quality of the food is always fresh and tasty and you can tell the quality of ingredients. The service is always good without long waiting times and if you wish things to be spiced up they are always obliging. Definitely try this takeaway if your in the area.

decided to try this place so ordered sweet and sour chicken and chips well the chicken was seperated from the sweet and saour and it didnt taste nice. wasnt good for the money the only thing that was nice was the chips and sweet and sour so i wont be going back there in a hurry
