A good Youngs pub. Always better when they have Youngs Special on (see edit below). Can't speak about the food because I use it as a pub, not a restaurant. Nice to sit outside in one of the spacious booths in the old stables where the dray horses used to be quartered. Inside space is very small and intimate. Staff constantly changing, but usually young and friendly. Ib sponse to owner: you are right, Special has been available consistently lately. Was a problem a year or so ago when it seemed to be off a lot. Could also have been my bad luck! I'll give you your full quota of stars for this and the fact that Young's pubs still manage to retain some atmosphere and get loyalty in return from locals, something other brewery owned pubs could learn from.

My pregnancy craving was butter chicken. My husband ordered from this place thinking they had chefs who knew what they're doing. Unfortunately, they tried to fob off a chicken korma for a butter chicken. When I called and asked why they sent the wrong dish, the man on the phone checked with the chef who confirmed no he cooked a butter chicken. I said this dish is sweet and coconutty, I asked, do they put cream and coconut into their butter chicken? The man confirmed and said yes that's how you cook it. That is not how you cook a butter chicken. They don't know what they're doing and are clearly just batch prepping sauces to try and save money, and compromise on quality and taste. Extremely upset and disappointed by this, and with no effort from the restaurant to fix it. The man on the phone just said he would tell the chef to "do it right next time". That gives me no confidence due to what he confirmed to me earlier in the conversation. To anyone who's pregnant or really craving butter chicken, please don't order from here. The taste of the food is mediocre at best and filled with oil. Very poor quality. Never ordering from here again.

This could have been a lovely meet up with friends and we were even prepared to overlook the average food as we were having an enjoyable time. However, some of the staff/mmnt are arrogant in manner and think they are doing you a favour by letting you visit. We won't be returning.

¡Desastre total, no malgastes tu dinero!

Nice venue by the pond, I held two photography exhibitions here, although they seem to have been infiltrated by a liberal cult ('SES'), so it's not a proper venue for holding their so-called 'Barnes philosophy club' meetings... Hopefully, not chaired by Robert Cook (unfortunately, a pupil at so-called 'St James', a SES cult school)... END
