Worst roast dinner I’ve ever had. The potatoes tasted old, the veg the same and the mushroom wellington was disgusting. It was also quite a small portion. Really disappointing.

We have dined at The Coach and Horses before and have always enjoyed good food in a convivial atmosphere served by attentive and knowledgeable staff. This visit was no exception and we would recommend the venue to anyone seeking a traditional pub meal in a traditional pub setting. Many thanks!

Went into the coach for a quick drink and sat in the garden, although we didn’t eat the atmosphere and garden was lovely. A young girl, Saige and I think the Manager were constantly walking up and down the garden ensuring the garden was kept tidy and clearing tables, they really got their steps in, I even applauded the manager on her efficiency! If she was the manager kudos to a job well done, we’ll absolutely be returning!

Lovely outdoor space but don’t go there for the food! Hummus was the most tasteless one I’ve ever had honestly. Greek salad had no tomatoes and ‘feta’ was some reconstituted creamy cubes of mystery cheese!! Picked onions and lettuce!

Jay was very kind and helpful. He was extremely nice and helped me chose what beer to get. He has great knowledge about the pub and beer. Would strongly recommend visiting this pub.

Excellent fish and chips. Crust done to perfection and insides silky and perfectly done. The best fish and chips , I only eat it here. Food Service felt a little slow, but the staff are very nice, helpful and accommodating for food intolerances etc.

Absolutely amazing experience. Staff here are very warm and helpful. It was also nice to see that there was security securing the entrance which kept my mind at ease. All in all it was a wonderful place to be and there was live music on the day too which created a great atmosphere. I loved it

Popped in yesterday after the boat race for some food. Ordered the "Ploughman's sharer" menu states this is for 2 - 3 people sharing at a hefty price of £25. No bread, no cheddar and certainly not enough for 2/3 people. If this was for 1 and cost £12.50 I would have probably sucked it up and ate it. To charge £25 and to share it though is a p*ss take. Very poor from Young's. Also, if you're system for food orders is service at the bar with table numbers it's a good idea to have table numbers on the tables and not make your customers feel stupid by insisting that they all had numbers on and making them go back to the table to find what clearly isn't there. No table in the stable area had a number. And I'll add that the 3 Young's pub we visited during the day all the staff were terrible. It was a busy day granted but service was slow with no no idea who to serve next. To the management and Young's in general - You need to invest in some staff training and have a word with your ex chef. POOR

Quite understaffed, we came for lunch on Sunday at 2:30. They had barely anything left on the menu.. only 2 roasts and bangers and mash. In the end only ordered an apple crumble but it was just hot apples with whole oats on the top.. Would not recommend if you want to eat, but a good spot for drinks. Mostly outside.

A good Youngs pub. Always better when they have Youngs Special on (see edit below). Can't speak about the food because I use it as a pub, not a restaurant. Nice to sit outside in one of the spacious booths in the old stables where the dray horses used to be quartered. Inside space is very small and intimate. Staff constantly changing, but usually young and friendly. Ib sponse to owner: you are right, Special has been available consistently lately. Was a problem a year or so ago when it seemed to be off a lot. Could also have been my bad luck! I'll give you your full quota of stars for this and the fact that Young's pubs still manage to retain some atmosphere and get loyalty in return from locals, something other brewery owned pubs could learn from.

Great little pub, plenty of character and great food and selection of beers and gin! Food was excellent, tasty and plentiful. Great coffee to finish. Price was so reasonable for West London. We will be back very soon!

Pub with a traditional atmosphere. Booked lunch there in early November and didn't realise there was a rugby game taking place at the local club (we weren't going to the game), however the local crowd was friendly and gave the place a nice buzz. Staff were attentive and although there were quite a few dishes which were not available on the menu (which is main reason for not giving 5 stars) the food was tasty and overall we enjoyed our time.

Booked a table for 4 for a birthday lunch. We ordered 3 roasts and one soup. We waited about an hour before the soup arrived, then another 10 minutes for 2 of the roasts, then another 20 minutes (an hour and a half in total) for the 3rd roast. We did make bar staff aware of the delay and got a vague apology about the kitchen being busy. The manager offered us a free drink as compensation but we'd have just preferred the food to be served together and on time! A shame as the food was pretty good. Perhaps not somewhere to visit at busy times.

Our experience at the Coach & Horses was regrettably subpar. My dear friend, visiting from Canada, and I found ourselves at the Coach & Horses just after 10 p.m. on Sunday evening, having come directly from a delightful screening at Olympic Studios. We were in search of a final drink before parting ways and, as per Google Maps, were pleased to discover that the establishment was purportedly open until 11 p.m. However, scarcely three minutes after our drinks had been ordered, a rather brusque waitress approached and informed us that we had no more than 15 minutes to finish, as the pub would be closing imminently. This was perplexing, given that the listed hours clearly stated an 11 p.m. closing time. My friend, quite understandably puzzled, rechecked the hours, confirming that we were indeed not mistaken. To make matters worse, the waitress then proceeded to patrol the pub area, casting repeated glances in our direction as though we were unwelcome guests overstaying our welcome. The entire experience was rather unseemly and most disappointing. It is my sincere hope that the management might consider employing staff who are better acquainted with both the nature of their role and the actual hours during which the establishment is supposed to operate. A little more grace and decorum in service would not go amiss.

My partner and I stumbled upon the Coach & Horses by accident, we were really lucky with the weather so decided to sit in the garden which is really lovely, had a delicious Sunday roast (he had beef and I had the pork), staff were super friendly, couldn't fault our experience

What a gem of a pub! Came on a sunday, roast was brilliant! Great portion, flavour and price! Beer garden is amazing, staff were brilliant and the pub itself has all the character you would expect! Highly recommend!

Great food great atmosphere great service what is not to like

Pleasant outdoor space with noisy people and too many artificial plants. An old pub that attracts a young crowd. Publican claimed in their response afterwards that there are no artificial plants - so I went to check, just in case I was being unfair. In the courtyard at the side are large cabins with heavy weight tables and seating. The ceilings and posts are draped with obviously fake wisteria and ivy. There are some real plants on the other side and further in to the garden is a fake lawn, though that is surrounded by real plants. Fake plants are not a sin but are just a bit sad when real equivalents are so much nicer. Also please don't accuse a customer of lying or of posting a false statement. Truth counts, especially in reviews.

Really slow staff one bar stewardess today who was extremely slow I ended up having to leave as I waited over ten minutes whilst a bottle of rose was attempting to be opened. It’s a shame as the place looked nice.

Delicioso almuerzo dominical a cargo del nuevo chef, tomé el pollo asado con verduras frescas y mi amigo tomó el cerdo asado. Me encantó el enorme pudín Yorkshire también.

They served burnt food after waiting 50 minutes and the replacement food was served raw and this was done on purpose so that we would leave the pub. I only told the Landlady that is was disgraceful to be served burnt food after waiting that long and that I had taken my elderly mother out for something to eat whilst shopping. She was rude and ignored us and said I have served you a Replacement. I said it was not cooked, the dough on the pastry was soggy and raw. She said you only ordered a bar snack. What does it matter what I ordered, the fact the 1st one was burnt and rock hard after waiting 50 minutes, the 2nd pasty was served raw. I could have had food poisoning. I have never been treated so badly in a pub in my life. Just because the Landlady runs a pub in Barnes she thinks it is OK to treat customers this way. Just because we are not spending lots of money on drinks and food. The bar staff even lied when I asked what Brewery ran the pub. I was thoroughly upset and am horrified by the terrible time and experience I had with my mother who is very elderly. The Landlady is rude, extremely bad manners and employs staff who can't cook. She should be ashamed of herself for the way she dealt with me and serving me a pastry item raw just so we would leave the pub. I have a right to complain and feel I have every right to write this bad review. That she deserves to receive.

We hired the private room for a birthday party. Nothing was too much trouble to prep before the eve started, guide the team on the bar management for our tab and helpful and very friendly staff !! Really made for a great and memorable evening with the option of tables outside the room , on one of hottest days of the year . Would 100% recommend the Coach for such an event . Thanks so much .

Parecía que había unos 8 miembros del personal ayer, pero la espera para simplemente tomar una copa en el bar era totalmente inaceptable. Una joven muy agradable pero no muy experimentada tratando de servir todas las bebidas. Dos jóvenes tal vez llevando bebidas al jardín, pero obviamente no se les da el mejor uso. No parecía haber nadie a cargo y tuvimos que beber de vasos de plástico porque no había nadie limpiando los usados. No estaba demasiado ocupado en el jardín. One of the best Sunday roasts, and our overseas guests were delighted with the whole pub experience! The beer garden looked lovely too, although as it was a cool June day we were glad to be seated in the snug main bar area.

Amazing food, best burger in town, staff super friendly and great outside area what is well covered

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday party and everything turned out incredibly well. Since the moment we booked it they would always answer our questions quickly and were really helpful. On the day of the event the service was impeccable and the quality of the food and drinks excellent.

nice pub, good beers and a lovely pub garden. only thing that could have been better is to turn down the guy with the guitar and amp. Tunes were great but we couldn't hear ourselves chatting which was a shame.

Clearly a place for the locals, with loads of them in the pub having their usual pints. Crispy whitebait needed some additional seasoning, but a solid starter. Both of us ordered burgers. The burger could do with a little fresh tomatoes, lettuce, etc, aside from the gherkin which was a nice touch. Bacon needed more browning. Chips were nicely salted and crispy. Overall great service from the staff, and space for improvement with the food, which was a fairly limited mains menu (possibly because it was a quiet Sunday evening). Would have been nice to have a fish main, fish and chips? Two beers and one juice ordered for the total bill (with food) of just under £60.

Hired the outbuilding "The Stables" for my son's 4th birthday party - it is an excellent space for private events/parties with private bar. The event and bar staff were very helpful in helping organise the room as well as creating a buffet menu at request suitable for children and seperate options for adults - the food came out promptly as the entertainment was coming to an end so the party went very smoothly. We were not charged a room hire fee and only paid for the food and drinks. Would highly recommend for events of all types.

The pies were absolutely amazing. Probably the best we have ever had. Great friendly service too. This is a beautiful historic pub in a lovely location.

I have been living in the UK now for 2 years after immigrating from Australia. I have had many pub meals during this time but I have to say this was a standout for me. The chicken and mushroom pie was excellent. Buttery pastry and delicious filling with simple but complimentary sides. Simple, tasty and delicious. Best pub meal I have had. Very cute and cosy pub with friendly service but the food was hit and miss. Burger and chips were good (Sunday menu so didn't get to try the pies), Mac and cheese was also good but the pork belly for the roast was dry and not great, carrot mash was underseasoned, and small amounts of kale/parsnips for nearly £20. Also the Cauliflower cheese was vegan - this was not signposted apart from tiny VG in the allergens. With cauliflower CHEESE - being a vegan version is a big deal - the menu item should be called 'Vegan Cauliflower Cheese' given it's made not with béchamel and actual cheese but whatever random coconut oil stuff. It was properly disgusting and had to send it back as I thought the milk had soured. (and I eat a lot of vegetarian food so not hating on vegans).

Huge massive thanks to the Coach and Horses Barnes!! I held my 40th birthday party in their private Stable Room and I and my guests had the best time! Jay, Mariah, Sam and the team were so great to work with and made the whole event so easy to plan and organise. There were about 50 of us and we had welcome drinks and buffet style food. Food was delicious and freshly made - and there was plenty of it! Violet was a star working the bar for us and couldn’t do enough to help us. Thank you so so much to all the team. Wholeheartedly recommend!

We just had my little one’s first birthday party in The Stables and it was brilliant! Lots of space, warm atmosphere - we created a baby corner with mats and toys, had some hot food and desert bites along with some drinks, we had a dedicated bar with lovely and very helpful staff; faultless communication and service! Even told us to leave the balloons and they will pop them for us 😊 Absolutely brilliant, I would definitely have more events there!

Me and my partner come here for the best pork Sunday roast about. Highly, highly recommend it. Staff are amazing too and service very quick and efficient. We even got to sit outside in one of the booths with their powerful heaters keeping us nice and warm. Thanks guys!

Hosted School Christmas function here for 40 people. The stable room was just perfect, warm and tastefully decorated for Christmas. The staff were helpful and friendly, the food was great, drinks reasonably priced and outdoor twinkly light area just perfect for a Christmas function. Well done team and thank you!

Can you please turn the heating on

I enjoy coming to this pub on my own after work. Like to have a cheeky pint, and head home. On this occasion, however, a friend came with me and we had Sunday roast and pudding. It was reasonably prised and absolutely delicious! Always felt safe coming to this pub. Lovely, friendly, welcoming staff. Come on your own or with friends (you won’t be disappointed).

We had a lovely Christening party at Coach & Horses. The private room with the bar was perfect for the occasion. The manager, Sam and his staff were very professinal and helped make the day special. Food and drinks amazing! Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Worst place for a Sunday roast - microwaved the chicken & veg after reheating it god knows how many times. Grim.. cutlery not clean, toilets stink of urine, over inflated prices big time. Avoid at all costs.

Been here a few times, twice for birthday lunch and drinks and then most recently went here for a hen night a couple weekends ago, staff were very friendly and accommodating, food was delicious, I have allergies and the staff were attentive and helpful in making my decision with what to eat. Also a great selection of flavoured gin is available. We had two tables in the stable area, the staff didn’t charge us extra for this which was very kind. The battered sausage starter is also a must. Thanks a lot.

A great pub with friendly staff. We booked a group meal which could easily have been cancelled at short notice because of train strikes but they were very understanding. On the day, the beer was in great condition and the food of generous proportion and very tasty, Everyone enjoyed the event. We shall be returning for our next such event and recommend the venue to others for group meals.

The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered roast beef and roast pork and both were cooked to perfection with fresh veggies and a giant well cooked Yorkshire pudding! Will definitely be dining her again and recommending to everyone I know! Great service too!

All my comments remain the same from my last review except it was lovely to be able to have a proper chat with Jay the GM. He and his wife, Mariah, have put so much love and effort into this beautiful pub you have to see it with your own eyes. Food wise, they cater for all. I have a gluten allergy and the staff always make sure to hand me to a manager on shift to ensure my dietary requirement is met with extreme caution. Lovely to not feel like a burden or inconvenience. Thank you all so much for another fantastic visit! Beautiful vintage exterior, enormous garden, fantastic food and the best Guinness in Barnes.
