Second time here for Christmas with work colleagues. Fantastic food cosy Christmas vibe and very helpful and pleasant staff. Thanks to Eve for looking after us and see you again next Christmas for more of the same!

Came in for some food as recommended by a friend, and it was a wonderful experience, our server Eve was friendly and attentive! I had the duck breast it was delightful! Will definitely return again!

Cutest pub I’ve ever been to. Very Christmasy and plenty of good drinks to order from. Superb bar tenders who served us quick, couldn’t fault them. We sat at the back near the fire, was super cosy and inviting. We are food later in the evening which was delicious - highly recommend the light bites. Would happily come here again.

Stayed in the rooms here and came here for drinks and dinner with friends in the evening. Super good pub! We had the evening menu which was super tasty, we had two courses with drinks and delicious cocktails! Waiters knew us from the hotel and really looked after us, the pub was super busy but they found us a table. Alex was the name of the guy who look after us, super nice guy, recommended us some great drinks! If your looking for a genuinely nice and authentic pub, this is the place. Such a great atmosphere for friends and family, and just a short stumble from our room.

I hosted a party for 25 at the pub. It was an extremely busy night, but the staff were welcoming and helpful. Everyone enjoyed themselves and complimented the food. Very happy, and will happily host another evening there.

Booked a table for my birthday and received confirmation text. Turned up and was told it was automatically booked on system but wasn’t actually confirmed. When questioning how that could be resolved, the lady serving us accused me of shouting at her and being ‘abrasive’ which is not the case whatsoever. I’m sorry if you’ve had a bad night, but don’t take it out on a customer if the pub has messed up and is at fault. I won’t be coming back due to this particular rude member of staff.

Izaak and Eve were so lovely to us, we went in for a roast on Sunday and they were super chatty and accommodating for us delaying our table. Would go again for those 2!

Honestly, the best service we have received in a pub - possibly ever! I had been messing them around with a booking for 20 people in the evening with buffet etc & a £200 deposit. I kept changing the plan. In the end our plans changed again & we only had 12 & we had to change the time to 14:30 to watch the rugby. No problem for them & they gave us a choice of the best tables by the big screen. We didn’t have to leave our seats once & there was never an empty glass. They anticipated ahead & our experience was seamlessly perfect! Can’t fault any aspect. Eve and Ethan (I think it was Ethan) were absolutely superb.

This charming place, located just a stone’s throw from Richmond tube station, offers a cosy and inviting atmosphere. It’s full of locals, which gives it an authentic feel, and the crowd is polite and quiet, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed visit. We popped in for a quick drink and a bite to eat and were thoroughly impressed. The quality of the food was excellent—especially the scotch eggs, which were absolutely delightful. Amazing little place! Came for dinner with the wife some friends and the dogs! Was honestly the most cosy and festive place I’ve been to for a long time! Beautiful atmosphere, attentive staff, so warm and inviting, so glad we picked this place. We had a 3 course meal and each dish was scrumptious, especially the duck that I had for main! Toby our server really looked after us all night and made us amazing cocktails as well as keeping our bottles of wine from running dry! I would highly recommend this pub if you want to see and feel the heart of Richmond this Christmas!

Reserved a table and a table hadn't even been allocated the waiter said food was adequate not very warm yorkshires were over cooked not much veg on plate food was just given no sauces were offered had to ask no apple sauce even though i had pork no salt and pepper on table so was disappointed with my overall experience

Lovely atmosphere and good location near Richmond station. Food was lovely - would highly recommend the cauliflower steak. We were served by Eve who made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal and was very polite and helpful with a smile on her face!

A group of 9 of us went for a Sunday roast and left fairly disappointed. The food was good enough and the atmosphere was nice, but the service was abysmal. We were in there for 2 and a half hours for our main course and dessert and not once did we get an apology / warning for things moving slowly. It took over 20 minutes for our empty plates to be cleared away off the table and we were only able to order more drinks and dessert by flagging down servers ourselves and asking them to take our order. Hopefully we just caught it on an off day.

Came here for a business meeting on a Wednesday morning. It was the perfect spot, the staff were lovely and welcoming especially Luka. Will likely be having more meetings here in the future:)

I went on a Tuesday evening to get a pint of Young’s, I have known this Youngs pub for 45 years.. and shockingly No Young’s and in fact NO CASK BEERS AT ALL.. of course the excuse is that it’s just after a rugby weekend, which would have been known about a year ago.. I know that Youngs no longer brews beer, but their pubs still sell the stuff, or used to anyway.. of course there is plenty of choice in Richmond, I suggest that you avoid the Orange Tree and go to the White Swan or the Shaftesbury instead..

Really welcoming, came with a friend and our newborn babies and they were very accommodating by helping us order and allowing table service. Particularly good service from Luka.

Booked a table for 11 for a special dinner a few days earlier -when we arrived on the evening we were told the booking system had an issue that meant only a table of 4 was reserved and available. We finally got a table for all 11 of us but it was 50 minutes later - by this time we had to cancel all the food orders and leave to get to an event so we had 11 people including 5 kids walking out ‘hangry’ which was really disappointing. The waitress was helpful and trying her best but looked like she was solo in managing the restaurant when it was at full capacity. Such a shame as we had heard really great things about this pub.

Came to the pub for a family lunch and I cannot fault anything!! Myself and some family members are gluten free (celiac) and the waitress was very knowledgeable on the topic and happy to make accommodations for us such as swapping for gf bread/buns etc. Our food also came separately to avoid contamination. All the staff were very welcoming and served us with a smile and the food and atmosphere was incredible! They even offer a gf battered fish and chips with the chips in a separate fryer to avoid contamination (rare occurrence) which my mum thoroughly enjoyed. We were also greeted by the resident pup Bertie (adorable dachsund) which was a welcome addition! Overall I cannot fault the service or the food here and will definitely return.

The pub is situated perfectly by richmond station the room i stayed in was luxurious (11) bed was extremely comfortable and loved how the bath was at the bottom of my bed so i could watch tv while having a soak! All the staff are extremely helpful, smiley and friendly I cannot fault this pub/hotel and have recommended it to all my friends, see you VERY soon

We had a work celebratory lunch here and the food was delicious. Most had the trout, some the soup and I had the burrata. All very tasty - as was dessert! The waitress was friendly and attentive throughout. We will return.

Our first time in the UK I was recommended Richmond and the orange tree did not disappoint! The rooms are spacious and decorated so nicely, the staff is so kind and helpful. 10/10 recommended!!!

Very tasty and well cooked supper. Friendly and helpful service. Venue a bit noisy but it was a Saturday evening so probably inevitable.

Nice looking place, they gave us a private booth because we were a booking of 10. Staff were very nice but we kept having to ask for some same basic stuff. Roast was average apart from the beef was barely luke warm - I asked for them to warm it up but it basically came back the same. Toilets not very clean / kept.

We went for a pre-theatre lunch. The place was obviously not properly staffed so, even though we had booked a table, they left us just sitting there for ages without anyone serving us. When I went to find someone I had to ask several times just to be given a menu and it was half an hour before we even got a drink. Told I had to order food at the bar and when we were served it was done grudgingly as if it was a huge favour. When I complained I was treated very rudely as if it was unreasonable of me to want to be served!! There was no apology. The food was fine but we'll be looking for somewhere else to go next time we have tickets for the Orange Tree theatre.

Food was excellent, but service was amateur. Drinks weren’t made for 15 minutes, despite us being next to the bar and watching them chat and stand around. Had to be reminded. And another reminder for the tap water. Sides were forgotten and brought after we’d finished our meal. Sauces were requested and forgotten, got my horseradish for my last bite of beef. Asked for bill, took them way too long to get it. All in all, tasty food, but bad staff.

Came in for Sunday lunch and were looked after impeccably. Absolutely brilliant with the nut allergy. Thank you.

A large, beautiful old pub with a nice little terrace out front. Sadly, each time I've been there the pub has been very understaffed so service is extremely slow and inefficient, even on quieter days, to the point where we have decided to go elsewhere.

Absolutely great place to stay. 2 minutes walk from station. Near all amenities. We had room 11, fantastic! Staff were all so lovely especially Ethan who had a double shift on the Saturday but he was still cheery and helpful! Restaurant at back of pub, lovely atmosphere and good food. Breakfast was also delicious. If we ever stay in Richmond again we will return to The Orange Tree.

Lovely pub but consistently let down by lack of bar service, always waiting ages for a drink. Nothing on the staff working as they're trying their best, but there never seems to be enough, especially for such a big, centrally located pub.

Complete lack of service or interest from the bar staff. We walked in, there were people sat about but the bar was not that busy. We were not acknowledged and eventually walked out

A favourite place for wine and food.

We had a lovely stay at The Orange Tree Hotel for my husband’s birthday. We were in room 9 which was lovely. It was spacious, had a fantastically comfortable bed, was clean and allowed us to have our dog to stay too. The staff were great, helpful, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was included in the price and it was really good, plenty of choice to accommodate everyone. Definitely revisiting in the future.

Excellent pub, great atmosphere and terrific, friendly service. Ethan and Sam behind the bar made my stay easy, comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend a visit if you’re passing through Richmond, an easy 5 stars !

A great place to start match day. I enjoyed the Young’s London Original, it’s appropriately pitched as a session beer, light though not light on flavour. The Orange Tree team clearly know what they’re doing when it comes to ale from the cask. They proved equally adept managing the queue at the bar with equitable amenability. Worth a visit if you find yourself with a thirst in the locale.

Stood around waiting for 5 minutes before getting served,far better and cheaper pubs in the area.

Second time I’ve been here and I came back purely because of the vegan nut roast. My partner had fish and chips. Both generous portions and we enjoyed the food. Also very friendly staff. Thank you!

Rude bartenders! Waited long for being served, when tried politely to point out, im waiting, bartender advised, he would not serve me anymore… avoid!

We had arranged to meet for drinks, but made the mistake of meeting on a day when there was big-screen football, so it was very noisy. The staff were quite helpful over a move from the table we had reserved. Drinks were fine, the tables are kept clean, and the pub seems bright and characterful.

We always visit here when we come down to watch rugby. The staff are always lovely and helpful. We were here with good friends. Nice to sit outside as well as the weather was warm.

Rightio, this pub is located on a very busy road, but that's the only downside I can think of. It has a small outdoor area out the front but a spacious interior with a separate 'dining area' in the rear. Plenty of space inside and the staff were wonderful. The Guinness was excellent as was the Twickenham Brewery Naked Ladies.

We had a swift but excellent supper before going to the theatre next door. Great service. Delicious food. Highly recommend!

We visited The Orange Tree on Easter Sunday. We had roast dinners which were delicious. One of our party members has coeliac disease, and we were informed that usually the fries are gluten free, but on this occasion they weren’t, which was a little disappointing. However, the staff member was very thorough in checking this. There were also only 2 members of staff on shift when we arrived at 12:30, through to 2:30pm. For Easter Sunday this seemed a bit strange; the service was extremely slow. We waited so long for our plates to be cleared that we stacked them ourselves in the hope it would prompt some action. When there was finally some action, they cleared half and left the rest. We had to go up to the bar to initiate any contact with the staff - for them to come to the table to take our order/to get the bill.

Expensive for what it is, understand the price of beer. But the chips were £5 and took 40 minutes to arrive, with a handful in a small metallic cup.

The Orange Tree and their staff really helped our 28-person school party feel welcome. We flew in from Canada and they made space for us making sure everyone was fed! The rest of the pub is great too, lovely beer on tap and solid staff. Thank you!

Booked here very last minute prior to heading to Richmond Theatre. Really classy, attentive but relaxed service, and the food was honestly some of the best 'pub' food I've tasted. We preferred the mains to the starters, but the mains were honestly soooo good. I was gutted to have to finish my meal haha! We will 100% return. Lovely people, really, really good food and very reasonably priced.

I visited Richmond with a friend after a walk along the River Thames from nearby Kingston. We had been to a couple of other pubs in the town but wanted somewhere quiet and relaxing for a late lunch. My friend ordered a traditional roast and I had the nut roast ( which I was very happy to find out was 100% vegan). I have to say that this is the best nut roast I’ve had. Mostly they’re a disappointment. My friend also said hers was the best roast she’s had in a long time. Our food was served quickly and both with generous portion sizes. Very friendly staff. Will be coming back. Thank you!

We are currently staying at this lovely pub/hotel and enjoyed a delicious dinner here last night. The grilled king prawns were really delicious and my husband enjoyed the lamb and broad bean pie. Our server Nicole was delightful and made us feel very welcome. Although the restaurant was quiet, the pub itself was very busy and so the atmosphere spilled over.

I have been using the Orange Tree for many years as a pre rugby match lunch venue. This is the first year I’ve had reason to complain. Firstly the prices had been greatly reduced, (Although reduced nearer the date) The sharer menu was fine, but sadly let down by serving the steak on cold plates and whilst the steak was of good quality, it was barely luke warm, and the wedges could have been cooked a little longer. Finally it was disappointing to run out of the very nice Rioja Reserva after just one bottle. Please get these attention to detail problems sorted as it’s normally such a great day and location. The above comments were raised on the day. The response was to remove the service charge, which was a little sad to think that the waiting staff possibly missed out on reward for something that was not their fault.

Half a pint of lime and soda, I think they said it was £3:80 !! - I’ll check my card payment tomorrow to see if I dreamt that - (it did come with a slice of lime, some ice and a paper straw).

Absolute 10/10 from every single aspect. The staff were so accommodating, polite and friendly, the food was gorgeous and everything so so reasonably priced. We had a very difficult request (vegetarian and gluten free!) and the staff did everything they could to cater for us, with zero huffs and puffs, just friendly smiling faces! Thank you so much for a lovely family Sunday lunch!

We are a group of friends that meet at the Orange Tree every month. The pub is welcoming and all the staff are amazing. Beers and wine are excellent and the food outstanding. Some in our gathering are disabled and I am pleased to say that there is full disabled access and loos.

Really good food and friendly staff. Only reason it's not 5 stars is there were a few strange bits. I confirmed the table was for 3 upon arrival, and the barman brought us to a table for about 8. My request for a specific table had also been ignored. We did say we could move if the larger table was needed, and were told they'd have to check with the manager, and then finally we were asked to move. Our water was forgotten, and the waitress was clearly new and very nervous. She was lovely, but there was a lot of awkwardness. Nonetheless, really enjoyed the meal and wine. Would definitely come back.

We were looking for a Sunday afternoon pint and a roast We found a pub where no one was interested in customers. We ordered drinks on the app and waited 20 minutes. Only came when asked at the bar. We ordered food and waited 30 minutes (it wasn’t busy) for them to bring out entirely different food. We ordered a mushroom wellington, we got a nut roast. Imagine if we had an allergy! When questioned, the staff acknowledged the app didn’t work - so please desperately turn it off. At least then the poor service at the bar could explain the menu. Pub was also freezing on a Sunday afternoon. Everyone sat in their coats.

Always love this pub, but the 2 beers we wanted were off. The music playing was much too loud, which made everyone shout at each other so we only stayed for one drink.

The Orange Tree was the ideal venue for our after-funeral gathering. We had use of the spacious back bar where tea and coffee were on hand and delicious sandwiches were served. Staff were very accommodating, the cost was reasonable and our guests felt very welcome after the sadness of the funeral.

We had our work Christmas Party at the Orange Tree on the 13th December. It has become our regular place for Christmas due to the easy location, delicious food, and great service. I think this was our 6th or 7th Christmas Party at the Orange Tree and once again, we had a great night.

Went here on a Saturday. Guinness served in Brooklyn glasses. Music obscenely loud. Every table was dirty. Grim.

Food was not great, I was served a mcdonalds style burger for £16.50. It is not to the standard of other youngs pubs.

Warm and cozy christmas atmosphere, great food and nice staff. Totally recommendable for christmas dinner, probably for other occasions or a simple pub night as well.

Perfect room, perfect location. The hotel is very close to the underground and railway station. The city in general is one of the prettiest districts of London, with a lovely park and great pubs. The service was very good except for a slight delay in check-in due to a Christmas party going on in the pub which the hotel owns. The breakfast was very refined, complete and authentic. Although the pub is on the ground floor of the building, and our room was on the first floor, the room was very quiet.

Never been spoken so poorly by staff. We asked to sit at a table, unaware it was the restaurant. It was as if we’d asked the most ludicrous question they’d ever heard. It wasn’t particularly busy and there were plenty of places to sit. Totally unnecessary. Very unwelcoming.

Pub was lovely and cosy and food was brilliant. We actually were not on time to our booking due to a delay at work, and yet the staff could not have been more accomodating. Nicole in particular was really communicative with our group and looked after us amazingly all night - thank you so much!

I booked here to stay as I was travelling up for work. Unfortunately I was ill so the room was not required, I emailed apologising and requesting to cancel at 09:00 in the morning. They confirmed the cancellation but advised I would still be charged for the nights stay. I responded advising I wasn't very well due to new medication I had taken whilst recovering from a life threatening illness and I felt ok the day prior (cancellations needed to be done by midday the day before stay). They have ignored this email (4 days ago) and the follow up email I sent 2 days later. I still have had zero response but they have now charged my card for the nights stay. I checked in the evening and my room had been booked out as they were fully booked so no incone had been lost. I will never book stay with this place again. Terrible customer service.
