I was curious about this bar. The reviews and articles made it seem like my thing. I found it a rather unfortunate waste of time and money. Normally, the lighting in bars isn't that big of a deal for me. I love a dark, moody spot. But, I mean, this is Claridge's. It just appeared as if someone forgot to pay the lecky or flip on the switches at the beginning of their shift. What a disappointment. And it's not dark and sultry like a secret cigar and gin bar from the Prohibition era. It's just plain dark. You can't even fully appreciate the décor and design. It didn't create mood; it killed it. Reading the menu is a fun exercise in figuring out how bad your eyesight is, and if you're at the age yet to pull out a mobile phone light to read. (That said, the menu is quite nice. I liked how it was organised and seemed to make good sense.) [The photos I have posted are heavily edited to lighten them, except one and even that has my phone adjusting automatically for low light.] The drinks were like water. Again, I am aware of the standard pricing in these establishments and was fully prepared for it. However, I want to at least taste a little bit of alcohol, even in a long drink. I want to taste *something* other than soda water and lemon. I barely even got a hint of ginger -- in a Penicillin riff! Instead, what I feel like I received was a £25 lemon La Croix poured into a glass. There are similar luxury hotel bars that manage to create good value experiences. This just isn't one of them. The atmosphere was off, the drinks were laughably childish, and the vibes were dull. The server was okay, but again, nothing special. When I'm at Claridge's, I want special. Otherwise, what's the point?

During our visit, my friend and I chose the Tasting Menu, which looked promising—and it didn’t disappoint. Lunch began with a complimentary taramosalata amuse-bouche, followed by a moist and flavourful potato confit with crab starter. A small plant pot was then placed on our table, which initially puzzled us, but we soon discovered a delightful Greek salad hidden beneath what looked like soil (dry barley rusk I believe). For the mains, we enjoyed a plate of skioufixta (Cretan pasta) with a rich red game sauce topped with cheese, alongside a tender piece of tsigariasto lamb, slowly cooked with oregano and wine, and served with onions and new potatoes. The entire meal was absolutely delicious, complemented by discreet yet attentive service. Well done. However, a minor note: while we’re all familiar with Aesop’s premium hand soaps, refilling these bottles with cheap hand wash comes across as a bit tacky.

We were saddened to hear that this lovely place is about to close and rushed to enjoy a last meal there a few days before the final service. We ignored the truly weird psychodrama being played out at the next table by a couple whose relationship seems unlikely to last until that last service and gave ourselves over the the cosseting service, delicious food and simply amazing views. Galvin at Windows will be much missed.

I went here with my Long term Partner for Christmas before Covid. Again.... It was all kinda new to him! He was also excited to go to Hamleys Toy Shop which was also just on the Regent Street. So very well located for children. The Langham Hotel also has a pool. The Staff were so fun and pleasant. A lovely group of Staff. I had so much laughs with them a complementary Homemade Christmas Pudding was sent up to the room. Thank you to Staff of the Roux at the Landau. I was hoping you would be reopening after Covid, but alass. Wishing you all success in your chosen paths and thank you for a memorable heart warming memory x

Food is great, meat is super delicious. However, the atmosphere is cheap and loud. You get seated at a massive communal table. This would be great for an informal get together. However, this place is priced expensive like a top tier restaurant. In this case, the standard required in terms of service, seating and ambience must be signficantly higher… you cant seat someone at a communal table and charge them £300+ for a meal.

5 isn't enough stars for the team at Fitzrovia. They make the space so welcoming and wholesome, which makes it a joy to go there every day. There's every facility you could want or expect and everything is maintained beautifully. I couldn't recommend them enough.

the food is definitely overpriced for the portion size and the quality. None of the main dishes come with rice so you're charged £4 for a tiny portion n the side. The service was also very lacklustre, we waited an hour to pay for our meal when the restaurant wasn't at all busy, our server just didn't really care.
