Kin in City of London, Westminster

Lovely little veggie/vegan cafe not far from Oxford Circus. I love the fact that all meals can be made vegan too. I came with my mum and we shared the waffles and pancakes. Both were delish, but I preferred the waffles as they had a nice crunchy texture. Portions were a tad big as I’m feeling very full. And my only issue is that there was a £1 charge for almond butter which looked like it was included on the menu. Regardless, I’ll be back again to try some of their savoury meals as I had food envy for all the other dishes that were coming out!!

Needing to be in central over lunch I popped into Kin in Fitzrovia. Immediately there was a pleasant upbeat energy and friendly reception. It’s a cosy venue with a handful of additional outdoor seats on a picturesque side street; a bit of an Oxford Street haven (8 minutes walk from Oxford Circus). The staff were busy but never rushed, willing to take that moment to chat about the menu and keep an eye on your needs. The warm weather had me opting for the Healthy Nutter smoothie (with Mango, Coconut, pineapple, lime and mint) giving up that cheery summer vibe. The mint and lime are the perfect complement to the sweet and creamy mango and coconut. They offer a range of plant based bowls, breakfasts and mains (Burrito, Chickpea curry) and then the desserts: a waffles and pancake. Everything can be ordered as a vegan option with some substitutes stated on the menu. There wasn’t an item on the menu that didn’t tempt. I had the Lentil Soup (intentionally to keep it lite for a waffle - sweet tooth planning ahead). The soup was delicious and indeed lite which is not always the case with lentil soup, generally being an earthy and hearty option. I really appreciate the fresh and crisp vegetables and breadth of flavour range. It was certainly a substantial potion; perfect as a main rather than a starter. Now the Waffle: the menu describes caramelised banana and mixed berries, agave nectar, berry compote coconut yogurt and almond butter. Clearly the anticipation was building… We’ll take a look at the pictures and see why my jaw literally and actually dropped as the plate approached. It’s was dramatic and beautiful with me reluctant (for half a second) to disrupt the art. But I did disrupt and I did decimate; in a flurry of colour and flavour this waffle and I blissfully ruined each other. A waffle version like I have never had before. Whatever else you have, keep space for this treat (maybe to share though). For a quick solo pop-in my visit to Kin was a lovely experience. I would encourage you to step in on your own or make it a special treat.

Pretty disappointed im sad to say. Booked a table after reading all the great reviews and was really looking forward to it. Food was decent enough but had so much lemon juice on it, it completely overpowered everything else on the plate and we struggled to get through it. I also found a bit of avocado skin in mine which I thankfully didn't bite into. Not great considering the price. We also found the seating arrangements to be very clostraphobic, with other tables inches away on either side, which was really not ideal. I appreciate it's a small cafe but it's not particularly nice trying to eat with so little space. Service is quick at least and portions quite large.

Really good food, great service and atmosphere. The server was super friendly and accommodated our requests without questions and even pre-empted that we may need extra plates which was thoughtful. The food was delightful too. I'd recommend this place and would go back.

In my quest to write reviews for my blog, I've noticed a recurring theme: while many restaurants offer good-quality food, portion sizes tend to be on the smaller side. However, I'm happy to report that this wasn't the case at Kin Cafe. Their portions are quite generous, especially with dishes like the vegan breakfast and the hash breakfast, which are both satisfyingly sized and packed with flavourful ingredients. One standout for me was the vegan pancakes – they were simply delightful. Additionally, their take-out counter boasts a wide array of tempting salads and mains for lunch, providing plenty of options for those on the go. With its cosy atmosphere and offerings ranging from breakfast to brunch, lunch, and small plates in the evening, Kin Cafe is truly a gem for vegan Londoners. It's definitely a spot worth visiting for a fulfilling and enjoyable dining experience.

Incredible food, was really fresh and so tasty! The service was great aswell, and the vegan options were incredible.

Overall, I loved it. Great selection of vegan food (I loved my vegan pancakes!) and the staff is fantastic. Smiley, kind, helpful, just a really lovely experience. The only downside is that the place is very tiny, so whilst this makes it cozy, prepare to be a bit tight!

might be one of the best brunch places in london; certainly one of the most memorable brunch experiences of my life, loved the food so so much. the service was impeccable as well which definitely added to the experience, just the loveliest staff members! prices are extremely reasonable for the portion and taste and loved how fresh and healthy the options were; this little place alone is enough to make me consider moving here :)

Best vegan brunch in London! The food here is fresh and genuinely phenomenal! I had the hash and my friend had avocado toast and both were so delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu!

Just absolutely fantastic. Wonderful food at a good price, great service. Loved the fact that you can pay at your table by scanning a QR code, rather than awkwardly waiting for staff to come over.

Food was ok. It's tiny and stuffed. There is only a single bathroom and it was quite dirty. It's located in a basement past the kitchen and people queuing for the bathroom were blocking the kitchen entry. We were also seated outside as they were really busy. We hadn't even finished when they waitress told us we have to hurry as the have a reservation in 5min (there was no mention of that before).

had brunch here yesterday (31st of march) with my friend. the food was amaaazing. service was 10/10. we had the sweetest waitress, Lea/Ellia (? sorry if i got it wrong). the lady who picked up the phone when i asked for a place was really sweet as well. really recommend this place !! :) the gluten-free waffles are amazing. will definitely come back when i’m back in london!!

A lovely vegan/vegetarian cafe - highly recommended. The food is delicious - I'm a big fan of their smoothies, salads and chickpea curry... well and everything really! The staff are super friendly and helpful too. They went out of their way to help when I wanted to book a table for a large group. It's my go to place if I want go for a team lunch or take a visitor out.

Gorgeous spot for brunch, super friendly staff, 10/10 food and they even let us try some of the waffles FOC. If you’re vegan looking for a spot - this is it.

Waitress told us a table would be ready in 15 minutes, and told us to come back where we’d have a seat. After doing that we came back and they had already given away our seat and told us to do the same in 10 minutes. After doing that we still weren’t seated. Waste of time

My family and I had the loveliest time visiting Kin. I've been several times, and every time I've gone I've had the most wholesome time. Harvey and the team looked after us so well, we couldn't have asked for more. Absolutely lovely staff. You can really see how much they really care about the customers and enjoy their job. The food was absolutely gorgeous. A lovely hidden gem in the heart of Oxford Circus. Thank you so much for making our visit so lovely 😊 !

Matcha was not good quality, it was almost brown! We came here as some reviews said it was the best matcha latte but if this is what you want i would advise against this place. It also came in a glass that smelled like egg …

Food was good, coffee was ok and the service was good. Was just a bit crowded on Saturday afternoon when we went and we kept getting shunted by the table next to us.

I was greeted with a lovely welcome and seated promptly. I ordered the pancakes which were not the greatest. However, spying on all the other orders of food coming out the kitchen - I'm sure if I had chosen another option I'd have been satisfied. The waitresses/servers were very professional and friendly.

guys this place is awesome. it's not super huge but the service is very efficient at getting people seated + there's a take away section only (great for getting a quick smoothie or coffee). the acai and oatmeal are fire

Friendly & helpful staff. Great selection of salads and more. Very fast service even though it was really busy. One small problem was that my wife was (very) ill two hours later! Maybe a coincidence? I haven't changed my rating as I can't be sure.

Wonderful place to stop for brunch for two in central London. Plenty of vegan options making it difficult to decide what to go for as it all sounded so good. The waitress serving us was a super-star and despite being incredibly busy, made sure we (and the dozen or so other walk-ins) were seated quickly with menus and orders taken with no fuss. Both meals were delicious and the coffee was the best we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend.

The food is great, very vegan friendly, the service was nice and helpful BUT we came on a Sunday and it was sooo noisy that we wanted to finish eating fast and leave!! It was impossible to enjoy the meal in this atmosphere.

This place is popular and very busy so best book. Only lost a star as its a wee place and no room inside so we sat outside...glad I had my gloves. Food was delicious good selection of drinks and sweet treats including several vegan options.

This cafe needs to be more conscious of serving customers the right food. I was incorrectly given the wrong meal which contains gluten and I am coeliac - it was only after I had eaten a third of the meal I was told they gave me the wrong food. I have now been sick this afternoon which will continue for the next few days. They did not charge me as a result, but this is still awful to experience for someone with a serious allergy. They asked if I could take a pill to make it better - clearly not understanding the severity of coeliac disease. I do not recommend eating here if you are gluten free or coeliac.

Very nice little cafe, the food was amazing!!! They are very helpful for diet restrictions. I don’t eat any dairy and I’m gluten free and they had many options.
